*4 YEARS AGO AFTER THE FAMILY MOVED BACK TO MYSTIC FALLS*
Klaus smoothed out his new suit and laced up his glittering black shoes. Beside him, Elijah and Kol did the same.
"This is it, brothers. And mind, Kol, it's your turn next. Elijah and I already had our go," he grinned. Caroline, Hayley and Davina waltzed in over to their respective man. Caroline straightened Klaus's tie and kissed him quickly. As he leaned in to deepen it, she pushed him off.
"You'll ruin my make-up, Klaus!"
He gave her puppy eyes, but she didn't relent.
"Fine. Later though?" he asked. She nodded and he grinned. Elijah chuckled quietly. He had never seen Klaus so in love with somebody that he let them take control. No one other than himself and Mikael had ever made Klaus listen to them, and for this random girl from Mystic Falls to easily tell him off and make him beg made Elijah want to give her a round of applause. He didn't have time to mention it though, because at that point Damon walked in with Elena. He left Elena with Caroline, Hayley and Davina and glared at the Mikaelson boys.
"Ruin this day for my brother, any of you, and I will ruin the rest of your life," he hissed. As Klaus opened his mouth to protest, Damon added, "And Caroline is on our side."
Klaus closed his mouth immediately and stared levelly back at Damon as the black-haired vampire took Elena's arm and sauntered away.
A few minutes later, the married couples (Klaus and Caroline, Elena and Damon, Elijah and Hayley) linked arms with their other half and stared down the white aisle. Kol and Davina and Bonnie and Enzo, although dating, stood side-by-side, not touching. The music started and each couple walked down the aisle and split to the girl's and boy's half. Stefan came after, walking down the middle of the empty red-carpeted aisle. He looked dashing in his expensive, deep-blue suit and crisp white shirt. He wore a dark red tie and sleek black shoes. He smiled all the way down the aisle and stepped up to the podium to begin his speech.
"Thank you all for being here on my special day. I'm quite nervous, to be honest, because if I don't look just right, this is not gonna be a fun occasion," he paused to chuckle and take a deep breath. "But jokes aside, I'm so lucky and thankful to be here today. My soon-to-be-wife is absolutely gorgeous, and her personality is everything I want and more. She is funny, kind and caring, but she is also quick-witted and sarcastic, so her and my brother will get on great," Stefan turned to Damon to see him wink and mouth 'used to be more than great' behind his hand. Stefan grinned before standing up straight again. "I can't wait to see how married life is, since my brother and brother-in-laws seem to love it and hate it at the same time, and I know that everyday will be a new adventure. Thank you so much, everybody, and I'm glad that each and every one of you can be here to experience the most life-changing day I will ever have."
He stepped down to look at Bonnie, Damon, Caroline, Klaus, Tyler, Jeremy and all his other friends, before staring at the other end of the aisle with his jaw practically unhinged.
Rebekah stood regally in the huge archway doors of the Lockwood Mansion, with her sandy-blonde hair in a half-up half-down with winding braids and curls, and the sun hit it just right, making it look golden. Her dress was as white as snow, with long half-fingered sleeves and bare shoulders. The dress was very long, with a train at least two metres behind her and it shimmered from the setting sun, making the silk glow. It was a long, floor-brushing pencil dress, made of expensive high-quality material. Her shoes, although unseen, were silver high heels. She glided gracefully down the stairs and along the aisle, reaching the end and standing in front of Stefan, her blue eyes shining and her lips curved into a sweet, small smile. They stood like no one else was there, like it was just the two of them in the world. The officiant asked them to read out their customised vows.
"I, Stefan Antonio Salvatore, promise to love and care for you forever, I swear to do all in my power to give you anything you want, I would give you my heart but you have already taken it. I promise that from now to forever, since the first day I met you, my eyes have been on nowhere but yours, and will never stray. You are my beacon of light when I fall into the dark spiral, and together we can face anything that life throws at us, because, in your heart I have found love, in your arms I have found a home, in your eyes I have found passion, and in your soul I have found the other half of mine."
His eyes shone with tears and joys, and there was not a dry eye in the crowd, other than Klaus's and Damon's of course. Damon handed Stefan the expensive diamond ring and he gently slipped it onto Rebekah's delicate-looking hands with shaking fingers. He kissed the back of her palm and released, standing straight and staring deeply and lovingly into her eyes.
Rebekah stood behind the lectern, on the podium, and wiped her eyes before beginning her speech.
"I don't think any of you, even the married or engaged, understand my feelings right now. I don't really either. There's elation, anxiety, excitement, fear. I want to marry this gorgeous man more than anything else, but it's only right to acknowledge my journey here. I've not been very good, I was quite naughty, and yet Stefan and Damon forgive me for some mystical reason," she looks at them as Damon calls out "I don't know why either!"
She laughs and continues, "I want to thank my brothers, Klaus and Elijah and Kol. They have guided me through life since I was 6 years old, and I love them so much. And to Hayley and Caroline, thank you for being the sisters I never had. Davina, soon I shall be the big sister you never had, and for that I am so pleased. Stefan is kind and caring and generous, he looks after me like no one else does," at this she got a glare from Klaus but she ignored him "and he is obviously gorgeous. I'm so overjoyed to be able to marry him today, so thank you."
The officiant then asked her to read out her vows.
"I, Rebekah Esther Mikaelson, vow to love you forever, to be there for you when you are in sickness and also when in health, to walk beside you on the path of life, to hold you up when you feel down, and to glue you back together when you are in pieces. I'll still love you when you feel unlovable, when you feel alone I'll be next to you, and wherever you go I shall follow. You are the other half of me, and together we make a whole."
Then Klaus and Damon did cry. For Klaus, it was the build up of Stefan's loving vows to Rebekah and then Rebekah's promises to Stefan. For Damon, it was the sight of Klaus finally crying that allowed him to release his emotions at his little brother spreading his wings.
After the ceremony, close friends and family were invited to party at the Salvatore house, where there were drinks and food. Klaus poured some vodka and blood into a whiskey glass and swirled it around as he waited for Caroline to finish getting changed. For some reason, he and Elijah said, girls needed to get changed about 5 times a day, and they didn't understand why.
Caroline emerged in a short, flowy black dress with yellow flowers on that ended just above her knees with Hayley, Elena, Davina, Bonnie and Rebekah following after. Hayley wore a matching top and skirt in a khaki green, Elena wore a dark blue dress the same length as Caroline, and Bonnie wore a black crop top and a light blue miniskirt. But although all the girls looked stunning, it was Rebekah who stole the show. All eyes were on her as she came out in a long, bright red dress with a slit up to her thigh made of bamboo silk with her hair slightly curled and glossy. It was a sleeveless, off-the-shoulder dress that looked expensive yet worth every dollar. Stefan breathed out in shock when he saw her. Each girl sashayed over to their respective men with a dirty, passionate gleam in their eyes. Caroline and Klaus shared a long kiss, filled with promises of what's to come, and Klaus smiled against her lips.
"You meant it when you said later," he whispered. She smirked suggestively and leant into his ear.
"It isn't later yet, New Orleans."
