Chapter 1
Marrying Lucas happened after being engaged throughout college.
We were 23. With a majority of money made from Clothes over bros.
I bought my childhood home. We settled in there and started our life as newlyweds.
For the next couple of years it was just us together.
Traveling for my fashion line or for Lucas 's writing career.
We were 27. When Lucas purchased us a beach house.
And along with that our own cabin in the woods.
We spent the past couple of years spending winters and summers between both houses.
And now we found ourselves here. Currently at 30.
As Lucas finished making us dinner. And I brought out the dessert for tonight.
(Hot chocolate cupcakes. My favorite. And I get to enjoy them. With my favorite writer.) Brooke said. As she sat down on his lap.
Lucas kissed her. And held her securely in his arms.
(I'm going to open the wine.) Lucas said.
(Actually I'll pass on the wine.) Brooke replied.
(You bought a pack of four cupcakes instead of the regular two.) Lucas said.
(I'm just not sure if what I've been feeling is stress jet lag or a pregnancy.) Brooke confessed.
