How many bullymong can you run over until your vehicle breaks down? None, because this Runner didn't slow down. Even when a bullymong tried to jump on but only got bounced off. Then Handsome Jack interrupted my joy ride to Sanctuary.

"Sometimes I envy you, bandits. You're so... unburdened with things like intelligence, culture, morality, honor, ambition, and good looks... I could go on, but I won't. But I could."

Man, I wish I could turn him off.

"Ah, dignity! Almost forgot to mention dignity. [a horse whinnies in the background] Easy Butt Stallion! Easy!"

Then he got off the echo net. Was he going to this every day? Nevertheless, I drove through Three Horns until I reached the entrance of Sanctuary, where a bunch of bandits were trying to get in.

One of the bandits shouted into an intercom, "Let us in, grinder! We're only gonna kill every last one of ya."

It's a good thing I got a rocket launcher on this Runner. With one press of a button, a rocket shot out and blew up those bandits into bits and pieces. I swear I saw a head flying into a pile of garbage. I drove up to the entrance and got out to use the intercom.

"You're never getting into Sanctuary, you Bloodshot skaglicks…"

"Hey, um, I'm not with the bandits, so can you let me in?"

"Who are you then?"

"I'm a vault hunter."

"A vault hunter…oh must be that vault hunter Roland wanted to talk to. I'm Lt. Davis, hang on lem me ECHO him."

Roland came on the intercom. "Ah, so you're the one I've been hearin' all this radio chatter about. My name's Roland."

"And my name is Gaige."

"I used to be a vault hunter just like you."

"And how did that turn out for you?"

"It was a mixed bag of good things and bad things. After my vault hunting was over, I formed the Crimson Raider. We'll talk more once I get to Sanctuary, but for now, I need your help."

"What do you need?"

"My men tell me Corporal Reiss hasn't returned the power core we need to keep the city's shields running. Bring Reiss back to Sanctuary, and you'll have earned your place in the Raiders."

"Cool, I got it; I won't let you down."

Great. All I have to do is find this Corporal Reiss guy, and I'll be in Sanctuary. I hopped back into Runner and saw the waypoint to Corporal Reiss, so I headed over there. Angel chimed in.

"Did Roland's contacted you?"

"Yeah he talked to me."

"Good. Listen to what he says. He can help us defeat Jack."

"I got a question. Why do you want to stop Handsome Jack?" I mean, there has to be a reason why she was helping me get to the vault and stopping Jack.

"Let's just say Jack did horrible things that I witnessed and I wanted all of it to end."

There was some anger in that voice. Odd AIs aren't usually that aggressive.

"...Okay."

I didn't press on. I drove up to what seemed like sharp ice blocks that my Runner couldn't go through. I stepped out and walked through, only to meet a bunch of Bullymonges. I shot my way through them and found an ECHO recorder on the ground. I played it.

"I got the power core from the Bloodshots! Blew the bridge! I'm hit... Gotta lose 'em in the Marrowfields - RAGHHHH!."

Ah crap, I got to find him before it was too late. I kept looking around the area for him and killing some annoying bullymongs. Then I heard an ECHO broadcast.

"Goddamned Bloodshots, there are too many of 'em! If anyone can hear me, I need help!"

The map showed he was northeast of me. I ran over to the edge of the cliff to see a bunch of bandits beating Reiss, who was already bleeding heavily. I pulled my pistol and shot at them, making sure, sir, I didn't hit Reiss with my crap accuracy. Two dropped dead, and the other two ran at me, screaming nonsense, and I managed to kill them before they came near me. I go up to Corporal Reiss, who looked like he's going to meet his marker any second.

"A Vault Hunter? Heh, didn't think I rated that much of a rescue! One of those psychos ran off with the power core. Without it, Sanctuary'll be defenseless. [cough] Get that core back to Sanctuary. I'm just gonna take a nap - wake me up when I'm not on Pandora anymore."

Crap, Corporal Reiss died, Roland was not going to like it, but I have to tell Roland about this, and the psychos have the power core. So I made the Echo call him and told him the bad news.

"Reiss is dead? He was one of the first Crimson Lancemen I recruited to the Raiders. Get that power core back. And while you're at it, kill some bandits for Reiss. It's what he would've wanted."

"I'll make sure of that last part."

Alright, time to get some payback and that power core. It was a good thing the bandit camp was close by. I walked over there summoned Deathtrap, and we tore that place a new one, killing bandits left and right. I saw a power cower near a crate. I was about to get it, but I heard a shot fired, and I looked up at the makeshift buildings that was built into rocks to see two large bandits with large machine guns. Deathtrap fired his laser at one, blowing a hole through his guts he tried again with the other, but he blocked with a door shield. I changed to my sniper rifle, and got a couple of headshots, but the big guy wouldn't go down.

I chucked a grenade at him as he was walking down the stairs making him fall off and land flat on his ass. Before Deathrap digitized, he sliced the bandit's neck, making him bleed all over the icy ground like a faucet. I finally got the power to cower but noticed something in one of the buildings up to. I walked up the stairs to see a large red chest. I opened it to see four shields with different effects, and one of the shields had a blast electricity once it went down. Out of the old, in with the new.

Now was time to get that power core back to Sanctuary and maybe get some good old RnR.
