I walked into the Crimson Raider HQ. Someone was already inside. It was a woman in a red jacket and yellow goggles who looked like she might have a mental breakdown. She was about to talk into an Echo recorder when she saw me.

"Oh god, a teenager, what are you doing here?" said the woman

"Well, I'm a vault hunter and Roland left me something. Who are you?" said I.

"I'm Patricia Tannis, but most people call me Tannis. I'm an expert on the vault and Erdian history."

"You know vault and Erdian stuff. That's pretty cool."

"Is that some sort of slang? I don't like it."

"Um, nevermind, I'm going to find Roland's message."

"You go do that. I have to record something very important involving Handsome Jack."

So Tannis might be more socially awkward than me, and that's not saying much. Nevertheless, I got focused and found that message. I walked up the stairs to bunk beds, a safe, and the command post. I mean, it looks like a command post. It has computers, a high-tech table, and monitors.

I wondered where Roland put his message, and then I looked at the safe. I opened it up, and there were two echo recorders. Why are there two messages? I might as well play both, so I hit play on one of them.

"Hey, soldier. If you're hearing this, I'm in trouble. Right now, you're the only thing left. between this city - hell, the entire planet - and Handsome Jack's army. I left info About my whereabouts with another recorder in the safe. You can use the shelf to store anything you need; this is your home now. Good luck."

After that, I felt the weight of the world after hearing that I wasn't going to let him down. Now for the other recording.

"This is the Firehawk. Come to Frostburn Canyon or people will die."

Firehawk, I have no idea who that is. I bet Scooter knows about this person. I got to the raider HQ/my new home and headed back to Scooter's place, and I told him about Firehawk and Frostburn Canyon.

"Oh crap, the Firehawk got Roland. That's bad."

"Who is the Firehawk?"

"A bounty hunter who catches a bounty while causing a mass murder. You have to get to Frostburn Canyon and rescue Roland."

"Got it."

I headed out of Sanctuary and back to the cold as the sun began to set.

…

I was getting a light runner when Angel came into my head.

"If Roland is captured by the Firehawk, he's in danger."

"What Scooter told me about this Firehawk is that they are one dangerous person."

"That they are and have no info on them. Getting to Frostburn Canyon and finding Roland is very important. Because he's the man with the plan to stop Handsome Jack."

"And what about me?"

"You'll be an important part of his plan."

The light runner appeared, and I got into it. I sped off and headed to Frostburn Canyon.

I followed the map, which led me to jump over a ridge, and I stopped near the entrance. My echo told me I was in Marrow Field. I got out and walked into what seemed like a camp near the path of Frostburn Canyon. Then, a bunch of bandits had torches. One bigger one had a flame thrower, and the other had, I think, Maliwan or Hyperion guns.

Getting my pistol out, I fired off a lot of shots at the two bandits with the torches who tried to light me up by blowing fire from the torch. Next was the big raider firing up its flamethrower, and I had to move from the flame. I switched to the SMG and fired my shot. Lucky for me, one of my bullets hit the tank, and flames started to come out. I kept shooting, and he exploded.

I took out the two other bandits. Man, I'm becoming a badass. This is great. Then, I made my way to Frostburn Canyon.

Arriving at Frostburn Canyon, it was less cold than Three-horns Divide, and that was not saying much. Angels came to my ears as I walked to the vending machine.

"The Firehawk should be around here somewhere. Stay alert."

"I'll be on my toes."

I got to the vending machine and got some ammo, and I found that the shields the doc was selling weren't any better than the ones I got. Then I walked toward what seemed like a psycho who had multiple spikes on him and a bloody eye symbol above it. I don't make any heads or tails.

Angel told me, "That's weird. The Bloodshot bandit clan seems to be attacking the Firehawk's lair."

"Why now?"

"Not sure but they've probably left landmarks for their reinforcements; those should lead you to the Firehawk. That, or just...follow the screaming."

"I can do that; maybe they'll be too busy fighting Firehawk bandits not to notice me."

Then, I was wrong when the Bloodshot leader, Flanksteak, came to my Echo net.

"Step off, Vault hunter—this is between the Bloodshots and the Firehawk! Once my boys bring his ass back to me, he's gonna pay for every Bloodshot he kills! We're gonna string him up from his own freakin' intestines." said Flanksteak

Angel and I both said, "Gross."

"Fuck you that was badass. I'm gonna turn you into a meat slab Vault hunter."

This was gonna be a long night.
