Episode 1: A Signal? Where?
ll
ll
After seeing that their jobs was done for now, the Sailor Guardians. So, they silently disbanded over some drinks at the local cafe.
ll
ll
Ami went on to start college in another city. Apparently, being at the top of your class in every subject really means something, even when you outperform other top performing students in the ENTIRE COUNTRY!
ll
She won a large number of grants and scholarships and began attending Nagoya University, one of the top medical schools in Japan. When asked why by the others about going abroad, she got nervous and said that doing something like that would be too much for her. Says the girl who has died and been reborn twice. No, it doesn't really make sense.
ll
ll
The school itself was far away though. It was far from Juban. The school was located in the city of Nagoya in the Aichi prefecture of the Chubu region.
ll
It's hard for her to even give anyone a call due to how busy she is with school and the terrifying amount of studying she does. And sometimes, if someone calls her at the wrong time, she snap at them, but apologizes later, even though what she says sometimes is relatively mild.
ll
ll
Rei, after becoming a Shrine Maiden at 20, she became a sensation, being so traditional for someone so young. She hated the attention, but it made her grandfather happy, so she endured it for his sake.
ll
ll
After becoming a sensation to the masses, she was invited to join an organization that worked to preserve the traditions of Shinto by learning the practices and becoming certified to teach others and have new apprentices to carry on the traditions of old. To this Rei, loved to no end. She would go out and visit other Shrines all over the country. Meeting new people, doing general good for those that came to her.
ll
ll
She too though, was almost never available though. Since she was always doing something for the greater good, whether it was helping with the organization, helping people, or teaching people, local and foreign about Shinto.
ll
But when someone called her, just getting her to answer was a miracle. Because not only was she always out doing all of these great things, theses great things... would also drain her of all her energy.
ll
ll
So when someone called her, she would either not answer, or she would only be able to talk for a few minutes.
ll
ll
Makoto, after fighting so many enemies, persued a career in the thing she did best, FIGHTING.
ll
And not as in fights behind a school or a bar, no, she went Pro. She was all over the country and sometimes overseas, fighting in national or international fighting rings, taking punches and throwing them back as hard as she could.
ll
When she was near Tokyo or anywhere she knew someone was close, she would send them some front row tickets to watch her pummel her opponents like it was ancient Rome.
ll
ll
When nobody showed, it showed. She would seem less interested in fighting, she wouldn't take it very seriously. But if someone showed... then may whatever deity her opponents believe in give her opponents strength, because she would be faster than light, hit harder than a freight train but would never be tired.
ll
They were some of her best performances, but nobody could figure out why she would do so well when she was in Tokyo other than that was where she was from. But someone always knew why.
ll
ll
Minako... she had a ROUGH start. But damn did it pay off.
ll
At first, Minako would go to every audition that was available to her, no matter how far she had to travel to make it. But almost all of the auditions' judges chose someone else over her.
ll
ll
Someone would comfort her, and she would already be onto the next one, more determined.
ll
But her break came when she went to another, normal looking audition, but when she arrived, was revealed to have a real producer looking for talent.
ll
ll
She was nervous, yes, but she sang her heart out and at the end, seemed like she had nailed it, like all of her auditions.
ll
ll
But in the end, two out of the three judges chose another girl, presumably due to the rumor that the judges had been paid off by a rich business owner with a daughter in the audition.
ll
ll
All seemed lost. The producer had picked her, but the other judges disagreed and chose another girl.
ll
ll
Afterwards, as Minako waited for a bus home, the Producer gave her his number and asked her to join him in a studio. He had fallen in love with her voice and wanted to hear it again. Minako told the others about it, and about how the producer dropped the girl that had won after only a few days since she was uncooperative with the producer and studio teams.
ll
After that day, Minako started with radio, then she did small shows. But after that, people were talking about her everywhere. She got sponsor deals, features in movies and TV shows. Everything was great for her, she was living out her dream. But with that dream, came unanswered phone calls and unread text messages and unread emails from someone.
ll
ll
ll
ll
Now after reading all of that, replace every "someone" with Usagi.
ll
ll
Sailor Moon, the leader of the Sailor Guardians, worked hard and opened up her own, humble garage in Juban, Tokyo, Japan. She worked alone, with Luna for company every day. She didn't want to be anything extravagant or even fancy. She just wanted to be home, in Juban, doing something that, once she heard about it, was obsessed with it.
ll
ll
After tinkering with Mamoru's car after something had broken and she insisted on fixing it, she became invested in learning how to do it herself. She took classes to learn about the innerworkings of cars, trucks and SUV's through local colleges and trade schools, eventually getting a degree and working for another garage for an old man, who was a bit like Old Man Hino, except taller and more muscular.
ll
ll
Everyone had told her to do something more with herself, but she ignored them, because she was deadest on doing this one thing.
ll
ll
After establishing herself, she created her business and quickly got to work.
ll
Luna was actually impressed to see that Usagi really could do something useful in normal life, if she cared enough.
ll
ll
Artemis was there too, as to not miss Luna, but he did it at the cost of missing the sound of Minako's voice. The radio didn't count since her voice was slightly altered in the radio transmissions.
ll
ll
ll
ll
It was strange. After the Sailor Guardians had disbanded, Usagi hoped for a while, that something, ANYTHING, would bring them together again as friends. But after a year, she no longer wished for it.
ll
ll
ll
This story begins, after a particularly rough spring day. It was cold, it had been raining all day, the customers were more aggressive and ruder, it was a mess all around. Usagi just wanted to go home and rest.
ll
ll
After going home in her old, but trusty 1986 Toyota AE86 Trueno, she threw herself on her bed, but didn't immediately fall asleep as Luna said a few words of encouragement along with Artemis to back her up.
ll
ll
ll
(Luna) C'mon Usagi... I know! Why not try calling one of the girls? I'm sure one of them had a cra-
ll
ll
(Usagi) Luna... come on... you already know this dance. If I call Rei, no answer, if I call Ami, I might say some choice words from the last time I called, if I call Makoto, no answer, she's in the U.S. right now, if I call Minako, she might accidentally, answer me, then proceed to apologize and hang up on me. SO please, don't try to convince me to give anyone a call because I am seriously not in the mood today.
ll
ll
(Artemis) What about M-
ll
ll
Luna swiped Artemis with her paw, staring him a sharp look, then quickly looking at Usagi to see if she noticed.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Look, you guys. I know you guys jut want to help me make a crappy day, slightly better, but I just wanna sleep for now. Besides, warm bed+ cold weather= Some damn god sleep.
ll
ll
The two though this was the end of it and were preparing to go to the area that Usagi had made for them, but she had one last remark.
ll
ll
(Usagi) And Artemis? I wouldn't be able to call, even if I wanted to. He is quite literally on the other side of the world right now, so calling him would be impossible. But thanks for the encouragement, as always.
ll
ll
ll
After tossing around for a minute or two, Usagi slipped into deep sleep.
ll
ll
She usually dreamed about memories with her friends. Fighting enemies, going shopping, hanging out again... the good times... She would wake up with a feeling of sorrow, but she would never admit that bringing them all together would be nice. Even if it was just for a minute.
ll
ll
Todays dreams was almost no different. A fade to black before waking up again. But this time, something seemed off about it. It wasn't momentary. It lasted for a while.
ll
ll
As she waited for the moment to end, something slithered around her arms as she could somehow see them now. The thing that was slithering around her arms, was made of a dim light, that seemed to slither it's way around her arms and down to her hands.
ll
ll
ll
ll
After seeing that she could see herself, she looked around to see a woman in front of her, facing away.
ll
Usagi had never seen her before and had no recollection of her. But something about her... she seemed... familiar.
ll
ll
Usagi looked the woman up and down.
ll
ll
The woman wore strange clothing, even for the Silver Millenium, and even the present. The material didn't look like any type of fabrics she knew. It was like her clothes were made of metal. It was an intricate suit of a deep, vibrant purples, pastel purples and with intricate, black lines that were indented into her clothing all over, creating a complex and fascinating design that... didn't belong to any known entity that Usagi was aware of. When Usagi looked higher, she could see that the woman had slightly tanned skin and flowing black hair.
ll
ll
It was at this point, that the woman seemed to take notice of Usagi's presence.
ll
ll
ll
(?) Hello... It's nice to finally meet someone from one of the many rebellious Orokin families that dotted the Origin System.
ll
ll
(Usagi) What the hell is she saying?
ll
ll
(?) My.. I see the fire in your spirit hasn't gone out. That's good.
ll
ll
(Usagi) I can talk in my dreams now? Weird.
ll
ll
(?) The conversation will be brief, but can I at least know your name?
ll
ll
(Usagi) You first lady.
ll
ll
(?) That's fine, I understand. I mimic a person that used to exist, but for now, I am simply known to most as, The Lotus. Now who are you, child?
ll
ll
(Usagi) My name's Usagi Tsukino. I am a Sailor Guardian of the Silver Millenium.
ll
ll
(Lotus) Interesting. If I had to recall, I haven't heard that name in a few millennia. And a Sailor Guardian? That must be what they called their warriors.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Wait, that last part. You know what I am?
ll
ll
(Lotus) I have knowledge of almost the entire history of the Orokin, you included Princess Serenity, daughter of Queen Serenity.
ll
ll
(Usagi) What the...How did you... ?
ll
ll
(Lotus) Unfortunately, that is something we don't have the time to discuss in full length, my child. It is time for you to reawaken the power you once wielded, the true power from a bygone age that has been rewritten by those in power.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Wait, I already did that, and save the world, multiple times, so don't worry, it's already done.
ll
ll
(Lotus) That is not your true power. Your true power manifests in a way you could only imagine up to now.
ll
The woman's eyes looked at Usagi's features with a look that seemed to be a mix of sorrow and happiness. She finished and looked at Usagi with her icy blue eyes.
ll
ll
(The Lotus) The answers you seek... can only be found if you search deep enough. Only then will you truly understand what is to come. Now goodbye my child. Maybe we will meet again, soon.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Wait! What do y-
ll
ll
Usagi sat straight up in bed. The rain had long since passed and it was the middle of the night.
ll
ll
She looked at her arms to search for the glow to no avail.
ll
ll
(Usagi) What... was that? Was that real? Was it just a really vivid dream?
ll
(Usagi) If it was a vivid dream, them it would've been better spent if I was with Mamo and we were...
ll
ll
(Usagi) Hehe... yeah, that would've been pretty sweet. But that dream...
ll
ll
Usagi looked at the calendar. It was her day off today.
ll
ll
(Usagi) I'll have to look into that today, but maybe later.
ll
ll
ll
As she went to work that day, she remembered that no matter what happened, it would be a good day today. She got a call from a familiar voice one day, telling her that she and her sisters would be joining her after they too had went through school and each earned a degree.
ll
Usagi remembered thinking about how odd it was. That an amazon was capable of sitting in a classroom full of people and learning about the inner working of a car, something that would seem alien to any normal amazon.
ll
ll
She arrived at her shop to see four friendly and familiar faces. Cerecere (Ceres), Pallapalla(Pallas), Vesves (Vesta)and Junjun(Juno) were all standing in front of her garage, waving at her happily as she parked her car.
ll
ll
(Usagi) So, before we get too friendly... Did you all REAAAALLY get degrees to become mechanics?
ll
ll
(Pallas) Yeah, just look.
ll
ll
Each one of them had a bag strung over their shoulders, and in perfect unison, they each pulled out a framed degree from a school in another prefecture.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Let me see one of those.
ll
ll
Vesta confidently gave hers to Usagi with a smile on her face.
ll
ll
Usagi carefully removed the degree from it's frame and examined it's features. The paper itself was of the same quality, there were no errors in the font or lettering, there was a signature from a real school official... she was pleasantly surprised... they ACTUALLY went to school and weren't lying about it!
ll
ll
She had expected them to bring her terrible fakes on a white sheet of paper, but no... she was glad to finally have some familiarity in her life.
ll
(Usagi) Glad to have you guys.
ll
ll
(Pallas) But... where are the others?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Well... we grew apart. It's been a while since you've all been here so I'm not surprised you haven't heard about them in the news. Ami's busy studying to be a top notch doctor in another part of the country, Rei's going around the country, promoting Shinto to the younger generations, Makoto's been gaining popularity in fighting sports and Minako's pursuing her dream of being an idol.
ll
ll
(Vesta) And what about you?
ll
ll
Usagi raised a hand to the garage behind her.
ll
ll
(Usagi) This is it. This is what I want to do for the time being. I never wanted to do anything luxurious or be famous, or even do anything to make a change. I just want to be here, in my shop, just helping people fix their cars. Because this is what I want to do, before reestablishing the Silver Millenium-
ll
A voice suddenly came from the back of Usagi's mind. The voice was of a man, who seemed to be saying it from behind her as if she had offended an unknown degree.
ll
(?) THE OROKIN EMPIRE YOU FOOL!
ll
ll
(Ceres) I see... it sounds just like something you would do.
ll
ll
(Usagi)... Thanks. I want to do it with Mamo, when the time comes. Because when it does, I won't get another chance to just be me in public, except for when I'm alone with someone I know.
ll
ll
(Juno) Yeah, that makes sense.
ll
ll
ll
Usagi looked outside. Storm clouds were rolling in.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Well, let's get you all inside. Don't want any of you getting wet from rain now.
ll
ll
After getting inside, she looked them over again.
ll
They looked... more like young adults now... far from the little kids she remembered.
ll
ll
(Usagi) So... I have a few more questions for you guys.
ll
ll
(Ceres) Ask away Usagi.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Okay... what brought you all back here? And what made you guys want to be mechanics, like me?
ll
ll
The four looked at each other.
ll
ll
(Pallas) Well... there's not really an easy way to say this but...
ll
ll
(Pallas) We... all had a dream. It was about you, facing a new, unknown enemy. We had never seen anything so... terrifying.
ll
ll
(Vesta) Yeah, it scared the hell out of me. It even knew we were watching!
ll
ll
(Usagi) "It"? What is "it"?
ll
ll
(Juno) We don't know. We just saw this... THING and it turned it's head away from you, looking towards us, then back to you. All we knew, was that when we woke up, we knew that we HAD to come back to Japan.
ll
ll
(Pallas) As for the mechanics thing... we all just thought it would be good information to know just in case we need to get to you super quickly.
ll
ll
(Usagi) And just how did you pay for all of that?
ll
(Pallas) We all got part time jobs when we landed here. Wasn't easy for us to adjust to the city from our home in the Amazon.
ll
ll
(Usagi) If this is true, then I need to-
ll
(Usagi) (Wait... what am I saying? "Call the others?" What am I, dumb?)
ll
ll
(Usagi) I need to contact the three outer guardians to confirm that something might be coming. Because I had a dream, but it was different.
ll
ll
(Pallas) Really? What was in it?
ll
ll
(Usagi) I saw a woman. She was wearing something that I'd never seen before, but she told me that I had to "Reawaken my true power from a bygone age" or something like that.
ll
(Usagi) When I tried to ask her anything about it, she said that she could only talk to me for a brief time and then, boom, I was awake. There was a glow over my arms, like glowing, translucent veins, but when I woke up, they were gone.
ll
ll
(Pallas) Why don't you go and contact the outer guardians? We can handle the garage while you're gone.
ll
ll
(Usagi) No... I'll do it here, after work. I'll even close the shop early so we can warn them.
ll
ll
Usagi opened the shop and on the dark, and cloudy day, there were customers every now and then, but it was slow since most people weren't into the idea of getting their car fixed on a cold and wet day such as this.
ll
ll
It was getting closer to 5:00 P.M. and Usagi was preparing to close when suddenly the front door had opened, as everyone heard it from the shop.
ll
ll
Usagi went to meet them at the front desk.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Hello, welcome to my shop, how can I-
ll
ll
Once Usagi had the two in view, she stopped and stared for a second. The two were dressed in extremely odd fashions.
ll
ll
One wore a suit that looked like futuristic armor than anything. It was white with red and black accents. There were small straps on his chest that seemed to be for holding something. But if it weren't for the suit, Usagi probably would've had to stop herself from trying to hit on him.
ll
The woman wore a similar suit, but it seemed more modern and wore a patch that she didn't recognize from anywhere. But what made the suit odd, was that there were large metal prongs that came out from her forearm and ended at her wrist. But all of that could be ignored, if it hadn't been for her hair. Her hair was done in such a way, Usagi didn't even thing it was possible, even by todays standards. Or even the future for that matter. It was pinned up to where there was an entire layer of silver that slightly covered another entire layer of cyan hair that was also pinned up. With all of the sharp edges in her hairstyle, she would've thought this woman was from a futuristic version of Ancient Egypt.
ll
She quickly snapped out of her trance and went to talk to them at the counter.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Sorry about that, how can I help you two?
ll
ll
(Strange Man) Well... she just had to-
ll
ll
(Strange Woman) Arthur, we do not have time for your tasteless humor. Just let me handle this.
ll
The woman seemed slightly annoyed by the man's teasing behavior.
ll
ll
(Arthur) Okay Aoi, but don't take too long now, okay? We can't be late.
ll
The man walked outside to wait for her.
ll
(Aoi) Sorry about him, he's been kind of a pain today.
ll
ll
(Usagi) No problem, so what can I do for you?
ll
ll
(Aoi) I just needs so fluids switched out and diagnostics check.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Sure, no problem. Just bring your bike inside and we can get started for you.
ll
ll
(Aoi) Will this take very long? I'm in a bit of a hurry.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Oh, it'll only be about 20 minutes, that okay.
ll
ll
(Aoi) Sure, sounds fine.
ll
ll
Usagi went to meet the woman around back and she took her bike into the shop.
ll
She didn't regularly do bikes, but they were just like cars in a sense.
ll
She had the bike ready to go in 15 minutes and she returned the bike.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Thanks for waiting. Here's your bike.
ll
ll
(Aoi) Thanks, here, take this for payment. It should be more than enough.
ll
ll
Aoi handed Usagi what looked like to be a solid bar of platinum. Even though it was only a few ounces in weight, Usa go couldn't help but wonder why the HELL SHE JUST GOT SOLID PLATINUM FROM A STRANGER!
ll
ll
Before Usagi could shake off the shock and give the Platinum back to Aoi, the woman was already on her bike, her partner riding on the back as they left at a high speed.
ll
ll
Usagi was just left in the front of her shop, completely dumbstruck.
ll
ll
When Pallas came out to check on her. She was worried that something bad had happened.
ll
ll
(Pallas) Usagi!
ll
She walked over to Usagi, who was still just looking at the solid piece of platinum.
ll
ll
(Pallas) Usagi, are you okay? You never walked back into the shop and...
ll
ll
Usagi seemed to snap out of the trance that the platinum had put her under.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Oh! Huh? What?
ll
ll
(Pallas) Are you... okay?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Pallas, do you remember what we used to use in the Silver Millenium as the primary currency of the ruling class?
ll
ll
(Usagi) It was platinum, an extremely rare Earth metal. It looks similar to silver but is more dense and-
ll
ll
(Pallas) I don't get it, what's this all about.
ll
ll
ll
Usagi held the perfectly cut platinum up to Pallas.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Because our "Customers" just gave me this to pay for my service.
ll
ll
The small slab of platinum shined, even in the cloudy weather.
ll
ll
ll
(Pallas) That's... platinum?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Yeah... Let's go show the others, this thing is...
ll
ll
Pallas was walking ahead of Usagi, so the only thing that alerted her, was Usagi falling to the ground as she fainted.
ll
ll
(Pallas) Huh? Oh, SHIT! GUYS, COME HELP! Usagi just fainted!
ll
ll
The other three rushed to help Usagi up and carried her to the break room, where luckily, there was a bed for when Usagi got bored and slept when no one came to the shop.
ll
ll
They laid her down, and ran the shop while she slept, each one taking turns staying by her side.
ll
ll
In her sleep, Usagi was back in the Ancient Silver Millenium, the princess she remembered to be, or so she thought.
ll
ll
She was looking in a mirror, the same Princess Serenity from back then. But there was a difference this time.
ll
She walked outside into a public area, where others that were of the Silver Millenium were preparing for battle, wearing armor that seemed to have been made using whatever materials were lying around. Others, were using old cannons for celebrations, and turning them into precision rifles. She was in the past, watching the Silver Millenium preparing for War.
ll
ll
But something in the crowd, both confused her and horrified her. A group of children were walking in her direction, and as they did, the adults around them were cheering them on and praising them in unison.
ll
As she watched with mixed emotions, she saw her mother the queen, rest a hand on her shoulder.
ll
ll
Queen Serenity of the Silver Millenium. But for some reason, unlike every other memory that Usagi had of her, she was looking into her eyes with a hidden deep sadness.
ll
ll
(Queen Serenity) I wish we didn't have to send you all out there... You are only children... but to defeat those corrupt Orokin in order for the entire Solar System to be free. Or else, we'll all just be their mindless playthings for all of eternity.
ll
ll
(Usagi/ Princess Serenity) What are you talking about Mother?
ll
ll
(Queen Serenity) Just look at all of you. You are only beginning the journey of life, but here you are, about to go and fight in a war against your own people. But since only you children can pilot those... weapons... then we have no other choice, but to have you fight alongside us.
ll
The Queen looked out at the field of soldiers. There were men and women preparing to rise up against their own, but children would be joining them.
ll
ll
The queen began to walk towards something in the palace, and curious, Princess Serenity followed her.
ll
ll
In the gilded halls of the Silver Millenium, there were humanoid looking statues that stood on pedestals. Each one was vastly different, but they all shared key visual features. They were white, had gold accents and radiated a light blue light from various points on their bodies.
ll
ll
The Queen looked at them as she walked, but stopped in front of a group of them that had been put closer together. A plaque was placed in front of it.
ll
ll
Princess Serenity got closer to the plaque to read it. Squad Name: "The Sailor Guardians"
ll
ll
There were nine of them, each one looking vastly different in appearance, but they were not statues of the Sailor Guardians as Humans. These were something else.
ll
ll
The Queen looked closer at the one in the front and center.
ll
ll
The statue was a female wrapped in a vestige of white maroon and gold. The statue was beautiful. But there was something odd about it, along with the others.
ll
ll
(Princess Serenity) My Queen? Why do these statues wear helmets?
ll
ll
(Queen Serenity) Oh my little Serenity... these are not statues... they are weapons of war. Their creator made sure to make everyone who heard of them understand as such.
ll
ll
(Princess Serenity) What are they called my Queen?
ll
ll
(Queen Serenity) Their creator called them, "Warframes". Special children, like you... will unfortunately be forced to pilot these things. They were once human themselves... A fate worse than death I say.
ll
ll
(Princess Serenity) She was human once?
ll
ll
(Queen Serenity) Yes... They all were human once. But now here they are... reduced to mere means to kill an enemy. A doll controlled by strings made from the void.
ll
ll
(Princess Serenity) So... what was her name?
ll
ll
(Queen Serenity) Her name? Well, I heard about her... "achievements" when I myself was a child. Her name was... Garuda. She was a merciless warrior that was feared upon on the battle field, wielding large talon-like weapons, similar to the ones you see now. Her foes called them her "talons".
ll
ll
Princess Serenity saw what her mother was referring to. There were a pair of retracted "talons". They were enormous. The talons went backwards from the Warframe's hands, all the way up to her head.
ll
ll
After gazing upon the talons, Queen Serenity looked at Princess Serenity with a sorrowful smile.
ll
ll
(Queen Serenity) Usagi Tsukino. It is time for your power as a warrior, to awaken. You will know what needs to be done. Soon, you will be prepared to fight once more.
ll
ll
(Princess Serenity) Wait, my Queen, I mean- Mother, how do you know that name?
ll
ll
(Queen Serenity) Because I, am nothing more than an altered memory of your past life.
ll
ll
(Queen Serenity) The power bestowed upon you, is now awakening from dormancy. Now go, protect the world from a threat, once feared by all, now completely unknown.
ll
ll
ll
Usagi felt a surge of power. She looked below her, to see that energy seems to be flowing from under her and rising to surround her.
ll
ll
She tried to ask more questions, but was jolted into consciousness as she woke up and a burst of energy pushed all of the four amazons standing over her to the wall.
ll
ll
ll
For a second, everyone in the room was mezmerized by Usagi as she floated in the middle of the room, a blue energy radiating from her as it pushed them away from her.
ll
ll
After the energy faded, Usagi quickly snapped out of her sleep and became alert.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Holy shit, is everyone okay!?
ll
ll
ll
(Ceres) Yeah... we're all okay... BUT WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?
ll
ll
(Vesta) Yeah! You were sleeping one moment, the next you were levitating in the middle of the room as some kind of energy burst from out of you!
ll
ll
(Usagi) I-I know! But, before I explain all of this to you, I need to go somewhere to retrieve something I'm gonna need.
ll
ll
(Juno) Where are you going?
ll
(Pallas) Are we gonna close earlier than we planned?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Yeah, just let me lock up the building and then we'll leave. I'll call you all when I get back so I can explain. But for now, I gotta go!
ll
ll
Usagi locked up the building and gave the four a lift to the apartment building they were staying at.
ll
ll
Usagi thought about calling the girls... but she couldn't. They were so busy that... by the time she needed them, it might be too late. But. She had to contact the outer Guardians.

ll
After going home and setting aside everything she didn't need, she made up the excuse that there weren't any customers today and that she was gonna walk to a friend's place to "hang out" for a few hours.
ll
ll
ll
Her family was none the wiser and she was off.
ll
ll
She walked a few blocks away, where she transformed and flew straight into the sky, a small vapor trail of pink fading behind her as she ascended.
ll
People saw the trail and immediately knew who it was. People took pictures, called their friends and relatives to tell them. To tell them that Sailor Moon, was alive and well.
ll
Usagi's ascent was hitting the news almost immediately. It had been more than a year since anyone had even heard from the Sailor Guardians, so seeing one of them out in the open was a breathtaking event for the entire world.
ll
ll
At the speed she flew at, she got to the Moon in an hour.
ll
Upon landing on the Lunar surface, Usagi immediately went towards the castle.
ll
ll
She remembered fighting all of the girls here. Ah, the terrible memories of what remains of the Silver Millenium.
ll
ll
She reached the ancient communications tower and tried to contact the Castle's of Uranus, Neptune, Saturn and Pluto.
ll
ll
One by one, each one of them visualized upon the old screens that were still hung in the tower.
ll
ll
(Haruka) Huh? Usagi? What the hell are you doing out here?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Nice to see all of you too.
ll
ll
(Hotaru) It's great to see you Usagi... but now isn't a great time for us to talk. Something has entered the ranges of Pluto's radar. It's a large presence, but we're unsure of what it can be. It emits a signal, but we don't know what it means.
ll
ll
(Michiru) We've tried listening to it for a pattern, but the signal just repeats itself over and over again.
ll
ll
ll
(Usagi) Well, believe it or not, I think that whatever it is. It's an enemy that needs to be defeated.
ll
ll
All four of them looked at Usagi with confused looks.
ll
ll
(Setsuna) Wow, and I thought Haruka was the one who jumped to violence quickly. But for you to say that? It's very unusual.
ll
ll
(Hotaru) Usagi, what makes you think that it's hostile?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Because, I think there's something hidden on the Moon. And I think all of you should come here to check it out.
ll
ll
(Haruka) Sorry Usagi, but unless you have some kind of definitive proof that there is something "hidden" within the Moon, then I'm afraid we can't just come over there.
ll
ll
(Setsuna) She's right. We have to monitor this unknown entity for now, but if you can give us some kind of physical evidence that there is something there, we will be there.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Understood. I will return with the evidence soon, just wait.
ll
ll
(Hotaru) See you then Usagi. It was nice talking to you.
ll
ll
(Setsuna) I agree, we haven't heard from any of you in a while, so it's nice to hear your voice again.
ll
ll
ll
After some brief farewells, each one disconnected from the comms and it was silent in the chamber again.
ll
ll
Usagi wandered around the ruins around the complex structure, searching throughout the ruins of the once great empire, looking for something... anything that prove that what she was feeling, was true... and real.
ll
ll
But as she passed a seemingly random doorway, her energy seemed to react to it.
ll
ll
She felt it and stopped. She looked back at the doorway, which blended in with the ruin's landscape of stone walls, silver linings and marble floors.
ll
ll
She was about to move on, but she knew something was in there.
ll
ll
She had to force the door open by tackling it since it had been shut for entire millennia.
ll
ll
But once inside, it was pitch black except for the entrance.
ll
ll
Then, a small purple wisp flew out from behind Usagi. It's royal purple luminance creating a bright light in the room. At the same time, she heard the woman's voice in her head, as clear as day.
ll
ll
(The Lotus) Tenno, it's time to wake up. Reclaim the power that was once feared by our enemies and a source of hope for those we protected.
ll
ll
ll
As Usagi looked over the many different Warframes, she saw one in particular that was perfectly familiar.
ll
ll
She walked up to it, where the light shined the brightest in the room.
ll
ll
She brushed her fingertip over the dust-covered talons that rested at her side.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Garuda...
ll
ll
Then, as if her body moved on it's own, she focused her energy on the Warframe and suddenly, she fell to the ground.
ll
ll
She looked around... Garuda was somehow... gone?
ll
ll
She went to dust herself off, but noticed that her hand was not her own. It was covered in a red and golden armor that was... Garuda's.
ll
ll
She quickly went to a mirror in the room and wiped away the dust to see... She was controlling Garuda, with her own body.
ll
ll
ll
She didn't jump for joy. She didn't take a second to look herself over... She didn't even reminisce in the memory of her with the queen...
ll
ll
She, was terrified. Using Garuda's body as a vessel, Usagi ran with more speed and agility than she ever did as a Sailor Guardian, to the communication room and scrambled to contact the others.
ll
ll
(Haruka) Usagi, what now? We told you that we're-
ll
ll
Before anyone could start to argue. They all stared at the maroon, white and golden weapon on the other side of their screens.
ll
ll
(Hotaru) Guys? What the heck is that!?
ll
ll
(Haruka) I don't know! HEY, YOU IDENTIFY YOURSELF!
ll
ll
(Usagi) Guys! It's me! Wait... huh?
ll
ll
Usagi could hear the sound of her own voice, but she couldn't feel her mouth moving as she spoke.
ll
ll
(Michiru) Usagi...? Is that really you?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Y-Yeah, give me a sec!
ll
ll
Remembering how she did it the first time. Usagi unfocused her energy from the Warframe, onto herself and she materialized next to the Warframe, falling on her back, this time, her own.
ll
ll
As she reappeared, the Warframe, as if it had been struck by lightning, fell to it's knees and ceased to show any signs of life, returning to it's former state.
ll
ll
(Setsuna) Usagi! Are you okay!? Are you hurt?
ll
ll
(Usagi) No... No, I'm okay. But this is what I wanted to show you. These... things! They're called Warframes. and WE used to pilot them!
ll
ll
(Hotaru) What are you talking about Usagi? None of us have ever even seen those things, let alone understand what they are.
ll
ll
(Usagi) That's because, I think that the Queen altered our memories.
ll
ll
The five talked a little more, before Setsuna seemed to be scared by something.
ll
ll
(Setsuna) EVERYONE! There's something heading towards us, a single signal, but's it's gonna be too fast for any of us to intercept.
ll
ll
(Haruka) How do you know that!?
ll
ll
(Setsuna) Because... The signal has already passed Pluto, and it's already making it's way past all of you. It's destination... is the Moon.
