Episode 12: An Unexpected Outcome

ll

ll

ll

Another day, another battle. It was Usagi's turn to go out and fight the Sentients.

ll

ll

Confidentially, the Sentients were trying to make headway beneath the surface of the hellscape of a planet, Mercury.

ll

ll

As Usagi went to retrieve Garuda, she passed by Ami's former, to be, Warframe, Trinity. As she kneeled, the smooth, black surface of the helmet being covered in a light layer of dust.

ll

ll

Both, the planet and the Warframe reminded Usagi of her mistake, her failure to reunite her friends against a common enemy.

ll

ll

As Usagi went out using the Railjack, she got as close as she could before the heat became too much for the Railjack to handle, forcing her to launch herself through the surface of the planet into it's crust.

ll

ll

As she plunged through the surface of the planet, she was immediately thrown into close corners combat as the narrow passageway were filled with Sentients as they materialized next to the Orphixs.

ll

ll

Usagi slashed at the hordes of enemies before her, the heat feeling like she was on the beach during the summer without any protection from the sun's heat.

ll

ll

The combination of the number of enemies and the heat made the battle hard, seeing as she felt the heat sickness building within her and the enemies forcing her to focus entirely on the fight and not finding any ways to cool off or even get a breath in during the battle.

ll

ll

Eventually, after a few hours, Usagi was able to defeat the Orphixs and their units, but when she returned, she was exhausted. She ignored the buzzing that came from her phone, only having the energy to go home, and throw herself onto the bed, telling the Amazons she was calling out sick.

ll

ll

ll

Later, Usagi was woken up by another buzz of her phone.

ll

ll

Thinking it might've been a wrong number, she ignored it, going back to sleep. But the buzzing of her phone persisted, as did the person trying to reach her.

ll

ll

After a few minutes, Usagi stopped trying to go back to sleep and answered the phone.

ll

ll

ll

(Usagi) What.

ll

ll

(Ami) Hey... Usagi. Sorry I haven't been keeping in contact. But meet me at the address I'm about to send you, and I can explain everything.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Alright...

ll

ll

(Ami) Okay, see you then.

ll

ll

Usagi ended the call, and reluctantly got ready to meet Ami wherever this place was.

ll

ll

Usagi left her house and drove to central Tokyo to find the place.

ll

ll

Then, after a while, she found the Ami, sitting outside of a cafe, waiting for Usagi.

ll

ll

Usagi parked her car and went up to Ami.

ll

ll

ll

(Usagi) Hey.

ll

ll

(Ami) OH! Usagi, I didn't think you'd get here so quickly.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Eh. What can I say, I drive pretty fast.

ll

ll

(Ami) Hey, you don't sound so good. Are you okay?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Well, I was on Mercury this morning, fighting the enemy, and it was hotter than the deepest pit of Hell, so no, I'm not doing too hot.

ll

ll

(Ami) Well, come with me.

ll

ll

Ami got up and lead Usagi into the place next to the cafe. Inside, were shelves of medicine, a reception desk in the back.

ll

ll

Ami walked straight passed the reception desk and into an office, looking for something.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Ami? Ami! What the hell are you doing!?

ll

ll

(Ami) What? I think I got some pain medication that can alleviate some of the effects of your little trip near the sun.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Okay, and why the hell did you just walk into the back!? What if an employee or the owner saw you?

ll

ll

(Ami) Employee...? What do you...? Usagi... this is my store. I now own a small pharmacy and clinic. It's been why I haven't called in the past month.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Wait. Hold on... does that mean...

ll

ll

(Ami) Yeah... it does mean I left the hospital, but they understood me. I put a lot of time and resources into this place so that I could go out there, beyond that blue sky and see the stars... And protect the Earth of course.

ll

ll

ll

(Ami) Here, these should help a little.

ll

ll

Ami offered Usagi some pain relief medicine.

ll

ll

But Usagi refused it.

ll

ll

(Usagi) I'm good. Knowing you never abandoned us.

ll

ll

Usagi hugged Ami, squeezing her with both arms.

ll

ll

(Usagi) It's good to have you back. Really.

ll

ll

ll

Usagi released Ami.

ll

ll

(Usagi) This means we gotta get you geared up. Come on, I'll drive you to Setsuna's.

ll

ll

(Ami) But don't they... not... want me there?

ll

ll

(Usagi) That's their problem. We need all of the people we can get in this fight, and sooner or later, they'll realize that as well. If they can't handle you being one of us, just remember, I'm here for everyone, INCLUDING you.

ll

ll

Ami gave a nervous nod.

ll

ll

(Ami) Right.

ll

ll

ll

The two got into Usagi's 86 and she drove over to Setsuna's.

ll

ll

Usagi knocked on the door, but nobody answered.

ll

ll

(Usagi) No problem.

ll

ll

Usagi pulled out the spare key for Setsuna's apartment, made for everyone, just in case they needed to go to the Moon, when none of the three were home.

ll

ll

ll

The two walked into Setsuna's apartment. Ami braced to be met with glares, but to her surprise, no one was there.

ll

ll

(Ami) They're gone?

ll

ll

ll

(Usagi) Yeah, seeing as they can't just be in their castles all the time, they've taken the opportunity to live lives on Earth.

ll

ll

The two stepped through the portal in Setsuna's closet and were on the Moon.

ll

ll

As the two walked towards the throne room, Ami felt flushed as she remembered the events that transpired the last time she was there, and the feelings she felt.

ll

ll

As they made their way to the Throne Room, they could see the Lotus in the distance, monitoring the Solar System and radio waves as she usually did.

ll

ll

As Usagi and Ami grew closer, the Lotus noticed their presence.

ll

ll

(Lotus) Hello Usagi-

ll

ll

The Lotus looked at Ami, seeming surprised.

ll

ll

(Lotus) Ami Mizuno... you've returned... Does this mean you are prepared to join the fight?

ll

ll

(Ami) Yes, Lotus... it does. I want to help Usagi and the others.

ll

ll

ll

The Lotus looked at Usagi before returning her focus to Ami.

ll

ll

(Lotus) We are glad that you have made this decision. It is not easy to give up something as important, as something you've worked towards for the entirety of your existence.

ll

ll

(Lotus) Now, I believe you should reunite with your forgotten Warframe, Trinity. A healer on the battlefield.

ll

ll

The three walked into the Vault of Warframes, and Ami found Trinity, kneeling on the floor along countless others.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Now focus your energy onto the Warframe.

ll

ll

ll

Ami closed her eyes and focused. Focused on uniting with the Warframe, to control it.

ll

ll

As she focused, the Lotus and Usagi could see lines of warm light radiating from all over Trinity's body and her helmet begin to glow with a similar light, beginning to pulse, as if she were connected to Ami's pulse.

ll

ll

Ami transferred into Trinity.

ll

ll

As she opened her eyes. She could feel the second skin around her, covering her body like thick armor.

ll

ll

She looked to around the room, seeing it from a different perspective. She stood on Trinity's feet.

ll

ll

(Ami) Am I... inside... of the Warframe?

ll

ll

(Lotus) In essence, yes. You have converted your body into energy and now control the Warframe from within. But do not worry. You can return to your human form by just exiting the Warframe.

ll

ll

(Ami) I see. (THIS IS FUCKING CRAZY! How does any of this make sense!?)

ll

ll

Ami felt a hand land on Trinity's Shoulder. It was Usagi, smiling at her.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Don't worry, calm down. You'll be okay, just follow us.

ll

ll

(Ami) I'm fine! Really.

ll

ll

(Usagi) You sure about that? Your helmet literally pulses with your heartbeat. It's going crazy right now. So, I know you're lying.

ll

ll

ll

(Ami) Wait!- What!- Really!?-

ll

ll

Ami quickly placed both hands on her forehead, where her helmet's pulse brightened with her embarrassment.

ll

ll

(Usagi) it's okay, just breathe. It's okay, it's just like a suit of armor.

ll

ll

Ami slowly lowered her hands and tried walking.

ll

ll

(Ami) I-I don't understand... this feels... so familiar.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Really?

ll

ll

(Ami) I don't know how to describe it. But it's almost a nostalgic feeling. Like I've done this before, but... I haven't.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Well, this is what we actually were. We weren't exactly the royalty we thought we were.

ll

ll

(Ami) So... what were we?

ll

ll

Usagi remembered what the true form of Serenity was like, a belligerent, terrifying creature that had features that showed signs of being formerly human.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Another time. First, let's get you armed before going out to train.

ll

ll

On the table in the Main throne room, a set of weapons was already laid out for Ami.

ll

ll

ll

For her primary, she was given a rifle, known as Sybaris. It was an Marble white rifle, golden curve covering it's lever-action compartment. It's a rifle that shoots a three burst round with a lever-action to load each shot in quick succession, given a high fire rate with a large magazine, it unloads a rain of terror, with a slight expense to it's accuracy, which shouldn't be an issue in the right hands.

ll

ll

For her secondary, she was given a heavy pistol, known as Magnus. When Ami picked it up. she was surprised by the weight of the weapon, seeing as it was heavier than the rifle she slung over her shoulder. The pistol was large as it was heavy, the beige and faded blue surface being covered in thick gold lines.

ll

ll

For her melee, she was given a pair of small scythes, one to fit each hand, their blades folded away into the handle. A pair of small melee weapons for close combat, a flexible pair of weapons for close quarters combat or for protecting a downed ally.

ll

ll

(Ami) Am I... really gonna use these?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Yup! And were gonna shoot some enemies!

ll

ll

(Ami) But how? I thought you guys only fought them during your alerts.

ll

ll

(Lotus) There is, in fact a way we are able to try and simulate combat with the enemy, for training purposes, such as this.

ll

ll

(Lotus) Come, follow me.

ll

ll

The Lotus led the two to where Usagi had went to heal within her Warframe, and where everyone left their Warframes after particularly rough battles.

ll

ll

The two climbed into the tube chambers that opened to their Warframes.

ll

ll

The tubes closed, and a cable slithered from within the chambers and painlessly injected themselves into the Warframes.

ll

ll

Then, the world faded for Ami and Usagi as they were launched into a simulation.

ll

ll

As she opened her eyes again, Ami found herself in a foreign place.

ll

ll

She grew worried, as she looked around, she saw Usagi materialize before her.

ll

ll

(Ami) Usagi!? Where are we?

ll

ll

(Usagi) We, are on a simulated version of the plant Pluto, Setsuna's territory.

ll

ll

(Ami) Really...? A virtual simulation... Incredible. Huh?

ll

ll

(Ami) Looked into the distance, there was a red dot of light in the distance.

ll

ll

(Ami) Hey... what's that out there?

ll

ll

(Usagi) That, Ami... is the enemy.

ll

ll

ll

(Usagi) now that we're in here. You won't need to look too far to see the enemy.

ll

ll

Usagi walked over to a small, lit op console that was within the simulation, stick out on the barren surface of the planet.

ll

ll

After selecting from one of the few enemies that Usagi and the others have gathered data on, Usagi summoned one of the sentients, dubbed the "Battalyst".

ll

ll

These Sentients, Battalyst, were one of the more common sentinets that Usagi and the others would come across as they fought the Orphixs.

ll

ll

But right as Usagi levitated her hand over the "Summon?" button, she changed her selection and walked over to Ami as the system worked to recreate the enemy she wanted to summon.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Alright Ami, this is what you're gonna start seeing when we're actually head to other planets, okay, and don't worry. They aren't real. But any pain you feel will be, but it'll be temporary, okay.

ll

ll

Ami grabbed her Sybaris Rifle and looked around.

ll

ll

(Ami) I'm ready!

ll

ll

ll

As the two waited, a loud boom came from above them as a Sentient Orphix shook the ground as it penetrated the surface of Pluto.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Here they come!

ll

ll

Ami watched as the giant biomechanical object opened to reveal a bright core, and enemies flowed out of the core, and hovered towards Ami and Usagi, firing their small weapons in their direction.

ll

ll

Ami held up her weapon to fire, but her hands shook as she aimed, not allowing her to get a good aim at any of the targets. She was terrified. She heard about these beings from the injured. They talked about how they killed hundreds, burning entire sections away with plasma fire, or using their blunt arms to tear apart innocent people in a matter of seconds. She remembered the day. She was unexpectedly called in, not to perform a surgery, but to try and help the hundreds of people, ranging from scratches and bruises, to horrific injuries. Plasma burns left people on their death beds, being kept alive only for a matter of days as their bodies still burned, even after the injuries were cut away. There were people covered in blood, not of their own, left in the waiting rooms, left to wonder, why they had been spared, why they were left to live, and their loved ones were killed before their very eyes.

ll

ll

The worst of it, was when Ami did her best to try and keep people alive, their shaky pleas came to her through burned and punctured lungs, and their families shouted for Ami to heal them.

ll

ll

Ami's ami grew even weaker as she stared down her barrel at one of the enemies.

ll

ll

She glanced around the battlefield looking for Usagi, who seemed to be having fun as she danced around, killing entire groups of enemies.

ll

ll

(Usagi) C'mon, you gotta shoot them, or else they'll get to you, and possibly hurt you-

ll

ll

As the words left Usagi's mouth, a sentient turned towards Ami, it's eyes beady and glowing as it began to hover towards her.

ll

ll

Ami couldn't do it. She started shooting wildly, barely taking time to aim as she screamed with fear and terror.

ll

(Ami) STAY BACK! GET AWAY FROM ME! JUST DIE ALREADY!

ll

Her shots flew by the sentient as it hovered closer to her.

ll

ll

Ami continued to scream out as she picked up her hand held scythes and jumped at the Sentient and hitting it with the pointed edges of the scythes until it's cyan lght faded.

ll

ll

But when she got up, breathing hard, another sentient shot her in the back with a small blast of plasma, temporarily damaging her shields.

ll

ll

Ami's breathing quickened as she pulled out the magnus and started firing at the crowd of sentients now coming towards her.

ll

ll

(Ami) No... NO... NO! GET AWAY FROM ME! LEAVE ME ALONE!

ll

ll

Ami shot into the crowd, a few shots damaging the sentients, but not slowing their advance.

ll

ll

After this, Usagi stopped the simulation, but Ami kept firing her pistol, even though it was out of ammunition.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Ami... it's okay, I stopped the simulation. You can put the gun down.

ll

ll

As Usagi approached Ami, Ami pointed the gun at her, her entire body shaking as she held the empty weapon up.

ll

ll

(Ami) No... No they'll come back... I know they will... because they're real...

ll

ll

(Usagi) Don't worry, it'll take some time-

ll

ll

(Ami) BEFORE WHAT!? Before we do this for real, and we die out there, on the surface of a planet millions of miles away from home? Usagi... we can't... this isn't... we can't beat them... they'll kill all of us...

ll

ll

(Usagi) C'mon, let's... go home for now.

ll

ll

Usagi and Ami exited the simulation and were back on the Moon base. The Lotus stayed quiet as Usagi walked Ami to where the group held their Warframes, and the two transferred out.

ll

ll

As the two left the Moon base, and went back to Setsuna's apartment, the Lotus pretended to be busy, not wanting Ami to feel embarrassed of her emotions.

ll

ll

In Setsuna's apartment, the two were met by Haruka, who seemed to have just walked in.

ll

ll

(Haruka) Oh, didn't know you were-

ll

ll

Haruka stared furiously at Ami.

ll

ll

(Haruka) Why the hell is she here?

ll

ll

Haruka's cold and hostile tone made Ami regret coming in the first place.

ll

ll

(Usagi) I'll explain later, for now, we're leaving.

ll

ll

As Usagi and Ami walked past Haruka, Haruka gave the two a side eye as they passed, saying.

ll

ll

(Haruka) Can't believe we let a traitor amongst our ranks.

ll

ll

Usagi could feel Ami's tears on her hands as she walked and glared at Haruka.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Haruka, not the fuckin time. Just shut the fuck up, and let us leave in peace.

ll

ll

As the two left through the door, they got in the 86, but as Usagi was turning on the car, Haruka came outside.

ll

ll

(Haruka) YOU SHOULD'VE NEVER BROUGHT THAT LITTLE BITCH BACK HERE!

ll

ll

ll

Ami tried to hide her tears as she looked down, but she could see them staining her jeans as Usagi backed out of the parking spot.

ll

ll

On the way to Ami's apartment, there was a thick silence as Usagi drove.

ll

ll

At Ami's new apartment, she went inside, and quickly tried to close the door, but Usagi stopped it with her foot.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Ami... wait.

ll

ll

Usagi opened the door and held Ami, who cried quietly into her arms.

ll

ll

(Ami) I-I'm... s-so sorry... I JUST... I JUST COULDN'T! I was so scared... I wanted to believe they didn't exist... but...seeing what those... THINGS have done to people... it's terrifying...

ll

ll

(Usagi) Hey, it's okay. You've had some pretty bad experiences as a doctor, and I see that I pushed you too hard and for that, I hope you can forgive me. As for Haruka, I apologize that we couldn't completely avoid them. I'll talk to her after I leave, so don't worry about her, okay?

ll

ll

Ami sniffled as she tried to calm her breathing and steady her voice.

ll

ll

(Ami) O-okay.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Now get some rest for now. The Warframes take a small toll on our bodies.

ll

ll

Usagi left Ami's apartment, and immediately texted Haruka, her hand threatening to crush her phone with how hard she gripped it.

ll

ll

ll

[Haruka]

[Usagi]

[Haruka, what the fuck is your problem? We need everyone we can get, but you decide to berate one of the only people in the world who can use the Warframes? Do you understand how dire our situation is!? This no time to be acting like a fuckin pouting child!]

ll

[Haruka]

[Okay miss, you're the boss, invite whoever the hell you damn well please. Sure, even bring in the traitor who almost stole the Warframes we have right now. Fuck you, I don't need to explain shit to you. She betrayed us, and she's lost my, and most of the groups, trust. Now if you wanna bring her on because you're desperate to replace the slot that SHOULD'VE BEEN MAMORU, then go ahead, make all the excuses you need, just don't expect us to just play along like good girls.]

ll

ll

ll

ll

[Usagi]

[Tell everyone to meet me on the moon base. I'll show you, and everyone who thinks Ami doesn't belong with us, why I brought her on.]

ll

ll

As Usagi sent the text, she knocked on Ami's door.

ll

ll

When Ami answered the door, she looked at Usagi confused.

ll

ll

(Ami) Usagi? What is it?

ll

ll

(Usagi) I wanna show you how powerful you truly are. Come with me, we're heading back to the moon base, but you won't be getting inside of a Warframe.

ll

ll

(Ami) O..kay.

ll

ll

Ami went back to Setsuna's apartment, where there was no one. Then the two stepped through the portal and walked to the Throne Room, where everyone, within their Warframes, looked at Usagi and Ami.

ll

ll

As the group stared around, the Lotus came into view.

ll

ll

(Lotus) Usagi. What is the meaning of this?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Lotus... I need to prove a point. Can you send all of us into the simulation and monitor it?

ll

ll

(Lotus) A battle between Tenno...?

ll

ll

The Lotus looked at the two sides.

ll

ll

(Lotus) I see. A battle between Tenno has not happened since the Tenno were last in service. When Tenno used to battle, it was known as "Conclave", a way for Tenno to spar against each other, testing their skills against one another.

ll

ll

(Lotus) I can allow this to happen, and I can monitor it from here.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Would it be alright if Ami watches with you?

ll

ll

(Lotus) Wait, you challenge them alone? Are you sure? 1 against 6 is hardly a fair fight.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Well... that's kinda the point.

ll

ll

(Lotus) I see, then so be it. If you would go over to the simulation chambers.

ll

ll

Usagi went over and dawned Trinity.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Ami, I'll show you how truly powerful you really are. Just watch me... and watch Trinity.

ll

ll

Usagi walked over to the simulation chambers, where each chamber was locked and everyone except for Ami, was launched into a simulation, on the Moon.

ll

ll

Everyone drew their weapons as they looked at Usagi.

ll

ll

Usagi drew Magnus, and waited for one of the six to move.

ll

ll

Rei shot her shotgun at Usagi and she dodged out of the way, narrowly avoiding a few pellets to the leg.

ll

ll

After that, everyone began shooting at Usagi, hitting her shields.

ll

ll

As the group shot, Haruka threw forward a small ball of antimatter, collecting the kinetic forces of their weapons fire as she drew it near Usagi, who avoided the ball as she got closer.

ll

ll

Usagi was only a few feet away from the group when Haruka detonated the small ball, knocking the air out of Usagi as she was sent flying through the air, feeling as if she had been hit by a freight train.

ll

ll

As she flew, it felt like time slowed down. She remembered the dream where her friends abandoned her, and the giant sentient looked down on her, his words echoing in her mind, it's deep, distorted voice saying "What will you do now? There are so few of you as it is... and then, the only other allies you have, turn their backs on you?" Then saying "Who will save you when you fall, when even the ones you protect aren't even willing to fight for you, in the most important battle of your lives, they walk away, forcing you to fight... alone. What's more... they're terrified of you. Terrified of the monster you'll become."

ll

Then snippets from different times, times when each of them doubted her played in her mind, their cruel tongues lashing out at her in her time of need.

ll

ll

She snapped back into focus, grabbing one of her scythes as she continued to her Magnus.

ll

ll

As soon as she hit the ground, she screamed with anger and frustration as she charged towards the group. Avoiding Ember's fireballs and meteors as they exploded onto the Lunar surface. Carefully dodging Mesa's repeaters as the bullets whiz by her body, narrowly missing her chest and head. Jumping high in the air to avoid Banshee's Sound Quake as she rumbled the ground with a violent quake of ultrasonic waves. Narrowly maneuvering small antimatter particles sent out by Nova.

ll

ll

But before anyone can realize it, Usagi had infiltrated their circle and casts her own ability, Energy Vampire, sucking them dry of any energy they could've used for their abilities. Then Trinity emits a bright, green light as she uses her ultimate ability along with another. Her ultimate ability, Blessing, heals Trinity, and all of her allies in range. Her other ability is Link, an ability that creates an energy-based link to an enemy, drawing all damage done to the Warframe, to the enemy.

ll

ll

Lines of green energy slithered from Usagi to Nova/Haruka, and she became linked to Trinity.

ll

ll

In the second that followed, everyone fired at Usagi without hesitation, but she was unfazed, meanwhile, Haruka took all the damage and felt her Warframe's skin being pelted with bullet fire, yelling as she ordered everyone to stop.

ll

ll

But Haruka's orders were drowned out by the sound of close proximity weapon fire. Hotaru laid the final blow, bringing down her Reaper's blade down, right on top of Trinity's head, but still, Trinity was unaffected.

ll

ll

No one could understand how Trinity was still standing, but soon, everyone looked over to see that Nova was lying on the ground, defeated.

ll

ll

Everyone scrambled to figure out what Usagi had done, Usagi took their moment of hesitation and confusion to use her small scythes to go towards the nearest person and begin ripping them apart, Octavia/Michiru.

ll

ll

As Usagi sprinted towards Octavia, Michiru used her primary weapon, Tenora to fire a rain of bullet fire towards Trinity.

ll

ll

It was clear though, that the other's were taken by surprise by Trinity's abilities, as Michiru was unable to create an opportunity to hit Usagi as her weapon recoil, mixed with her unease and uncertainty, allowed to make countless mistakes as Usagi rapidly got closer and closer.

ll

ll

To make sure no harm would come to herself, when Usagi was close enough, she placed a link on the next closest person, Hotaru.

ll

ll

Once again, Ember/Rei, Mesa/Minako and Gara/Setsuna ran at Usagi from her side, melee weapons at the ready.

ll

ll

But as Trinity/ Usagi ran at Octavia/Michiru, she saw the link snake over to Hotaru as, she herself saw the link attach itself to Banshee.

ll

ll

(Michiru) WAIT! Stop! She's linked to Banshee! If you hit her, Hotaru will receive the damage.

ll

ll

Rei/Ember, Minako/Mesa and Setsuna/Gara, stopped in their tracks, but Usagi/Trinity continued to run at Michiru, latching one of the small scythes into her left side, and the other into Octavia's collarbone.

ll

ll

Michiru gritted her teeth as she felt the sharp blades enter and exit her body. She tried to retreat, but Trinity/Usagi gripped the blades and forced Michiru/Octavia off balance as she was partially thrown to the side.

ll

ll

Michiru tried to retreat, but as she leapt away from Usagi, with the twin scythes still embedded in her body, she heard a click as Trinity/Usagi slung her rifle and loaded a pair of rounds, and fired at Octavia/Michiru, a direct hit to the chest.

ll

ll

Even with the new pain in her chest, Michiru continued to try her best at a retreat, but was stopped as her simulated body was killed with another shot from Trinity's/Usagi's weapon, Sybaris.

ll

ll

The others shouted Michiru's name as she fell silent as well, being taken out of the simulation, same as Haruka.

ll

ll

Taking advantage of the shock, Usagi ran over and retrived her blades, holstering her rifle over her shoulder as she picked up the blades and rushed towards the others.

ll

ll

As Michiru/Octavia, was taken out of battle, Trinity/Usagi ran out of energy, made evident as the link between Trinity/Usagi and Banshee/Hotaru, dissipated.

ll

ll

Not risking a close distance, everyone quickly backed away from Trinity/Usagi, but Hotaru was simply just too close.

ll

ll

As Hotaru tried leaping away from Usagi as the others had done, a pain flashed in her right leg as her leap was suddenly stopped completely.

ll

ll

Hotaru looked back to see Usagi had planted one of her small scythes directly into her ankle and Achilles' heel. Hotaru went down to the ground, and Usagi stepped over her and shot Banshee/Hotaru repeatedly in the back and defeated her, forcing her too to be removed from the simulation.

ll

ll

The remaining three stood tall, but weren't above being terrified.

ll

ll

They all had bore witness to Usagi's brutality, but even in a Warframe made to heal her allies, Usagi still managed to release a bloodthirsty and terrifying aura.

ll

ll

As Hotaru was taken out of the simulation, Usagi looked at the three and started in a dead sprint towards them, a small scythe in each of her hands.

ll

The three saw Usagi's advance as their last chance to defeat her, so they all began firing their mid to long range weapons, Rei fired her three-burst pistol, Sicarus with each shot more desperate than the last. Minako struggled to focus the sight of her sniper, as her breathing and heartbeat ruined any chances of creating a clear shot.

ll

ll

Setsuna felt emboldened by what seemed to be Rei and Minako's courage as they fought on. Setsuna began stepping forward, her golden glass shotgun, Astilla in hand as she began firing slugs at Usagi, as she got closer and closer.

ll

ll

But as Usagi made her advance, her shields were the only part of her damaged.

ll

ll

As Setsuna fired more and more shots, Usagi began to evade the shots as she grew closer.

ll

ll

When Usagi got close enough to Setsuna, she lunged at her with her small scythes but was met by the sharp ending of her glass hammer as she was slammed a few dozen feet away.

ll

ll

ll

Meanwhile, Ami, The Lotus, and the already eliminated were all dazzled by the performance. A healer, whose main goal is to protect and heal her teammates, a source of hope, was doing the exact opposite, draining her foes of their energy and terrifying them to no end.

ll

ll

As Ami watched, she silently cheered on her Warframe and Usagi. Haruka, Michiru and Hotaru glared at Ami as they went to watch the rest, hoping maybe one of the three could defeat Usagi for a change.

ll

ll

As Trinity/Usagi was slammed with the Gara's/Setsuna's Glass Hammer, Ami stared at Trinity/Usagi with fear, afraid that even with her incredible ability to defeat her opponents, it might not be enough when fighting three at once.

ll

At the same time, Haruka, Michiru and Hotaru cheered at the sight of someone finally landing a possibly fatal blow to Trinity/Usagi.

ll

ll

ll

Everyone, within, and outside of the simulation, watched as Trinity/Usagi tumbled across the Lunar surface, stirring up dust as she flew.

ll

ll

The group watching the simulation held their breath as they waited to see if Trinity would emerge.

ll

ll

In the Simulation, Rei and Minako complimented Setsuna on her direct hit, but the three slowly walked towards where Trinity/Usagi landed, weapons drawn. Setsuna aimed her shotgun, Rei did the same, taking out her own, double-barrel shotgun. Minako gave up on trying to hit Usagi/Trinity with her sniper, grabbing hold of her twin Lex pistols.

ll

ll

ll

The three slowly walked towards the clouds of dust, looking for any kind of movement.

ll

ll

Rei and Minako were about to start walking into the clouds of dust swirling about when Setsuna stopped the two.

ll

ll

(Setsuna) Wait.

ll

ll

The two stopped in front of Setsuna.

ll

(Rei) What's up?

ll

ll

(Setsuna) It's too risky to go in there. What if she's waiting for you. And Rei, your Warframe. You're flames will tell her exactly where you are.

ll

ll

(Minako) What about me? I can still try to sneak around.

ll

ll

(Setsuna) Well... still, she could be hiding herself within that dust, waiting for us. I don't think-

ll

ll

Setsuna/Gara was cut off when a hand came out of the dust clouds, grabbing Rei by the throat as a pistol rapidly shot directly into Rei/Ember's spine.

ll

ll

As Minako tried to react, but Usagi/Trinity's other hand hit one of Minako's pistols, pointing it to the ground as she shot it, but the other shot, and made a direct hit into Trinity/Usagi's arm.

ll

ll

Even though the three couldn't communicate through comms, Minako felt a slight hope as Usagi seemed to wince in pain as the bullet dug into her shoulder.

ll

ll

Setsuna/Gara shot at Usagi/Trinity, but by the time she aimed at Usagi, she had jumped behind Minako and back into the now dissipating dust clouds.

ll

ll

Rei/Ember was taken out of the simulation.

ll

ll

Rei went to join the others, wondering if Usagi could really take on both Minako/Mesa, and Setsuna/Gara at the same time.

ll

ll

Seeing that Usagi's cover was dissipating, Minako and Setsuna ran into the dust clouds.

ll

ll

As the two ran into the dust clouds, they heard and saw bullets tearing through the clouds, but something was odd. The shots were random, and none of them were even close to the pair.

ll

ll

The two saw as the dust completely settled, and saw that Usagi/Trinity was far away, aiming at the two with her rifle, Sybaris.

ll

ll

The two avoided incoming shots and returned fire, running towards Usagi/Trinity, hoping they could avoid taking damage.

ll

ll

As the two ran, they created distance between them, and Usagi/Trinity, focused on Minako/Mesa.

ll

ll

The two were growing more confident as more of Usagi's shots missed. One after another, Minako was able to simply side step with each shot to avoid getting hit.

ll

ll

Then, as the two grew ever so close, Usagi made a hit directly into Minako's knee, but her shields saved her as the bullet ricocheted to the ground as Minako fell.

ll

ll

Seeing that Minako might have been disabled, Usagi/Trinity aimed at Setsuna/Gara, who was much closer, as she began rapidly disposing shells in Usagi/Trinity's location.

ll

ll

Usagi/Trinity had a hard time aiming, as she had to dodge all of the tiny glass shards that came from the shotgun.

ll

ll

Usagi tried firing a barrage of bullet fire from her pistol after reloading it, but it seemed that the combination of the bullet in her arm, mixed with having to avoid constant bullet fire, was beginning to take it's toll on her.

ll

ll

The situation worsened when Minako/Mesa rejoined Setsuna/Gara, shooting Usagi/Trinity from her other side, making it even more difficult for Usagi/Trinity to avoid bullet fire, but at the same time, creating a risk for Setsuna and Minako to hit one another.

ll

ll

As Setsuna fired, she too seemed to Usagi's target, avoiding bullet fire from her pistol, but suddenly, Usagi stopped and threw one of her scythes at Setsuna, to which she stopped and avoided the small scythe.

ll

ll

Setsuna/Gara started shooting again, thinking that Usagi might be trying to close the distance, when she saw where her glass was heading, she felt terrified.

ll

ll

Minako felt like there was a chance that the two of them could really pull it off, and defeat their leader. She watched as she threw a scythe at Setsuna/Gara and chuckled as she continued to fire her pistols at Usagi.

ll

ll

(Minako) Wow, is she really getting desperate? I never thought she would-

ll

ll

The entire right side of Minako/Mesa's body lit up with pain as millions of tiny shards of glass embedded themselves into her body as Setsuna/Gara shot at Minako as she ran in front of her, thinking Usagi was running towards her.

ll

ll

(Setsuna) MINAKO!

ll

ll

Mesa/Minako tripped and fell to the ground, defeated.

ll

ll

Setsuna stood in shock as she watched Mesa disappear from the simulation.

ll

ll

Her shotgun shook in her hands as she processed her mistake.

ll

ll

But as she stood, she heard a lever click behind her as she was suddenly taken out of the simulation.

ll

ll

ll

Setsuna laid in the simulation chamber in disbelief.

ll

ll

(Setsuna) We... lost?

ll

ll

Setsuna got out of the chamber and transferred out of the Warframe, joining the rest of the group.

ll

ll

Haruka and everyone else stared at the screen at Trinity/Usagi.

ll

ll

(Haruka) She's a monster...

ll

ll

(Michiru) How could she have beaten all of us...?

ll

ll

(Hotaru) This makes no sense...

ll

ll

(Rei) She didn't even hesitate...

ll

(Minako) She's incredible...

ll

ll

After everyone else, Ami spoke.

ll

ll

(Ami) When...? When did she become so powerful...? So... brutal...?

ll

ll

As everyone stared at the Warframe, who stared back, Trinity was taken out of the simulation.

ll

ll

The group waited for Usagi, who returned, a small smile on her face.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Jeez... you guys put up a tough fight. Almost got me a few times.

ll

ll

Usagi walked up to the live feed of the simulation, standing before everyone at the side of the Lotus.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Now... imagine if I had Garuda... It would've been over even quicker...but also think about, if Ami had been on your side. She could've saved her energy, healed you, while also providing you with an additional ally and supporting fire.

ll

ll

Usagi looked over everyone, looking into their shocked, disappointed, frustrated, and defeated eyes.

ll

ll

(Usagi) I know you all have your reservations but let me be the one to say it. Ami had rescinded her hold on temporary material things, as well as her fame. Just like you, Rei, Mina. And she came here because I brought her with me.

ll

ll

Usagi glanced over at Ami, who had a small smile forming on her face as her eyes watered up.

ll

ll

(Usagi) And you can put this over me. Should Ami go rouge, take the Warframe technology and try to profit from it, I will be held responsible for retrieving the technology and punishing her personally. How, will be decided should that scenario come about. Until then, she is one of us, regardless.

ll

ll

Usagi walked to the side towards Ami.

ll

ll

(Usagi) C'mon Ami, let's go home.

ll

ll

The two left, and the rest stayed, asking the Lotus if they could watch the fight from Trinity/Usagi's point of view.

ll

ll

ll

Later, after dropping off Ami and going home, Usagi walked inside, barely able to keep her eyes open.

ll

ll

(Shingo) Hey Usagi.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Hey... Shingo...

ll

ll

(Shingo) Long day?

ll

ll

(Usagi) You could say that.

ll

ll

Usagi couldn't hear what her brother said next as she entered her room, greeted by a sleeping Artemis and Luna as she quietly laid down and passed out, feeling good about her victory, grinning as she faded into unconsciousness.
