Chapter 6: Valentine's Day of Yandere

The Shane Gang was decorating their hideout with love themed decorations for Valentine's Day. The Storm Hawks and Battle Force 10 had also come to help. "Man, I love Valentine's Day. A day to celebrate love and romance." Agura said. "Yeah. Especially when lovers exchange gifts with each other." Eli said. "I'm so excited to be celebrating this Valentine's Day with Rune." Dana said. "I think everyone with a lover is." Tad said. Harley's thoughts drifted Yu Jie, hoping that what he had planned would go well.
Suddenly, as everyone finished decorating the hideout, the doorbell rang. "I wonder who could be at the door." Eli said. He walked over to the door and answered it, revealing a delivery man holding a bunch of gifts. "Uh, what's with all these?" He asked in surprise. "These are for Harley Shane." The delivery man said. Hearing his name, Harley walked up. "That's me." He said. But then, he became stunned to see all those packages. "Who sent all those?" He asked. "No clue, Mister Harley." The delivery man said, handing Harley a pink envelope with a heart seal after setting down the gifts before leaving. After he left, the Shane brothers brought all the gifts into the living room. "What's with all the gifts?" Vert asked as he and Olivia noticed. "No idea. The delivery man said that they were sent for Harley. But he didn't know who sent them." Eli said. The Wheelers were stunned to hear that, as were the rest of the Heroix Crusaders. "Why would someone send so many gifts to Harley?" Aerrow asked. "Maybe someone sent them to him early since Valentine's Day is 4 days away." Aria suggested. "Preposterous! Harley hasn't had a single girlfriend since Desdemona broke up with him. And besides, Pronto should be the one who has lots of gifts instead." Pronto boasted out of jealousy. "Did you ever have a lover in your life, mate?" Stanford asked. Pronto could only reply… "No. Pronto has no lover his whole life. But Pronto is confident that he will find his soulmate one day." Pronto said, cheering himself up. Harley shook his head. "And besides, Desdemona didn't break up with me. We just decided that we weren't right for each other anymore." He said.
"Anyway, who is this unknown sender who sent all these gifts to you, Harley? It's kind of weird having been given so many gifts. Even on Valentine's Day." Starling said. Harley shrugged as he held up the envelope the delivery man gave him. "Maybe this letter might have something about this sender." He said. He opened the envelope, took out a letter and reads it aloud so the others can hear and listen.
Dear Harley Shane,
I admire you so much! You are my hero! Saving the entire Slugterra was amazing when you stopped that crazy madman! I wish to meet you in person, but I am too shy! Oh, for the gifts I've sent over, those are my thank you as well as early Valentine's Day! Just for you! I hope you like them, my dear Harley!
From your Secret Admirer
Harley was completely stunned when he finished reading. He had a secret admirer. "Whoa, dude. You got yourself a secret admirer." Finn said with a teasing grin, making Harley red as a tomato. Yu Jie, however, frowned with a hint of jealousy as she heard that. "Yu Jie, what's the matter?" Junjie asked as he noticed. "It's nothing, Jun." Yu Jie said, walking away. Junjie watched his sister as she walked away. "What is up with her?" Junjie asked. "Isn't it obvious? Yu Jie's jealous. I read her emotions through her aura." Zoom said. "Jealous? Why?" Junjie asked in surprise. Zoom just shrugged and walked away.
An hour later, the Heroix Crusaders headed their way Caverna Mall to buy special gifts for their lovers for Valentine's Day. As they arrived and entered the mall, they were greeted by Millard Milford, Shorty, Goggles and the rest of the Security Slingers. "Shane Gang, such a pleasure to have your presence in the mall once more." Millard said. "Millard, good to see you again." Eli said, shaking Millard's hand. "Say, who are they?" Millard asked, looking at the Storm Hawks and Battle Force 10. "These are the Storm Hawks and Battle Force 10, our new friends and allies. We formed a big team called the Heroix Crusaders." Eli introduced. "Also, this is their first visit to Caverna Mall." Harley added. As they were talking, an unknown female figure was directly watching Harley from afar. After finishing their talk with the Security Slingers, the Heroix went off in separate directions to shop in separate stores and shops. The singles went off to wherever they wanted while the couples hung out like dates. But little did they know, the unknown female stalker started following Harley.
Later, Harley entered a jewelry store and started looking through the items they sell, trying to decide on hat to give to the person he loves. "Now I wonder which of these she might like." He said. "Hi there, Harley!" Someone greeted with a cheerful attitude. Harley turned and saw a girl wearing a pink flurry outfit, had dirty blonde hair tied in stylish twin pigtails, and had purple eyes filled with love. "Uh, hi. Uh, do I know you?" Harley asked, startled by her appearance and sensing something off about this girl. "Oh, I'm sorry. My name's Qriraura, and I'm your girlfriend, silly." The girl, Qriraura, said in nonsense. Harley looked at her and felt uncomfortable, having never met this weird girl before. But that's when he realized that Qriraura was his secret admirer who sent him all those gifts. "C'mon, Harley, dear! Let's go on a date! Just you and me!" Qriraura said as she wrapped her arms around Harley's left arm. "H-Huh?! Wait, hold on!" Harley tried to get himself free from her but her arms were firmly, tightly refusing to let him go. Just then, Qriraura started to drag him away with her in force. "Hey!" They turned to see Eli, Trixie, Zoom and Grace coming towards them. "What are you doing with my brother?" Eli asked. "Oh! You must be the famous Eli Shane of the Shane Gang! I am Qriraura! I'm Harley's girlfriend! Teehee!" Qriraura said with a cheerful tone. The 4 were surprised to hear that. "That's not true! I don't know her! We just met and she just started talking nonsense about being a couple!" Harley exclaimed, trying to pull himself free.
Zoom looked at Qriraura as he was reading her aura. He suddenly flinched after reading it. "Zoom, what's wrong?" Grace asked. But instead of answering his girlfriend, Zoom walked up to Qriraura and grabbed her wrist, clutching it hard. "OW!" Qriraura cried in pain as she let go of Harley's arm, gripping her pained wrist before glaring at Zoom with a hint of murderous in her eyes. "Hey! What was that about?!" She exclaimed. "Get out of here! NOW! And stay away from Harley!" Zoom exclaimed. Qriraura glared at him angrily before running off. Zoom sighed once she was gone. "Whew…That was a close one." He said. "Uh, Zoom?" Grace called out as he turned towards his girlfriend and his friends. "What was that about? Why did you do that? That was so rude." She said. "I…have my reason. And that Qriraura…is no good." Zoom said with a calm tone. Then he turned to Harley. "Harley, I need to speak with you when we get back to the Shane Hideout. It's seriously private." He said. "O-Oh, sure…" Harley said, rubbing his arm as Qriraura's tight grip still lingered. "And…thanks for defending me from her, too." "No problem." Zoom said with a smile.
Later, the Heroix returned to the Shane Hideout. As everyone was occupied, Harley met with Zoom outside to have a serious talk in private. "Alright, Zoom, what are we going to talk about?" Harley asked. "It's about Qriraura. Her aura is filled with a disturbing sickness that I've never felt before. It's full of a love sickness because she's mentally in love with you. Qriraura also has a very darker side; she's a murder lover." Zoom explained. Harley was incredibly shocked by that. "Seriously?! How can she be like that?!" He asked in a terrified tone. "She's what's known as a Yandere. They're a term for characters who at first appear to be loving and affectionate, but then they turn out to be mentally sick of too much love. That sickness resorts them to becoming too attached to the one they love, and also do very immoral things. Like stalking their love interests, and even use acts of violence as a last resort towards anyone who 'threatens' their 'relationship'. Even kill them." Zoom explained. Harley was left completely speechless after listening to this. Qriraura was mentally in love with him and will do anything for him to claim his love, even willing to kill anyone who would dare try to take Harley away from her. Now he got really terrified of Qriraura. "What should I do?" He asked, with a mixed tone of worry and fear. "Calm down, Harl. Just be sure to be careful and look out for her and make sure you're with us to make yourself secure." Zoom said. "O-Okay…" Harley muttered, shivering a bit. In his thoughts, he never knew that Qriraura was that kind of person. A Yandere to be exact. And it's terrifying.
A few days later, Valentine's Day is almost here as it was about to start tomorrow. At the Shane Hideout, the Shane Gang, Storm Hawks and Battle Force 10 were all hyped in getting ready for tomorrow. However…Harley wasn't hyped. His head was filled with anxiety and fear. He was still thinking about Qriraura being a Yandere and fears the safety of himself if he encounters her again. Though, it had been a few days and he hadn't seen her since the incident at Caverna Mall before the start of Valentine's Day. "Harley?" A voice called out to him. "Gah!" Harley was startled and turned around to see Yu Jie standing there with confusion and worry about what was wrong with him. "Are you alright?" Yu Jie asked. "Oh. I'm fine, Yu Jie. I'm just a little anxious about tomorrow, Valentine's Day. And I'm just worried about someone coming to me." Harley said, not wanting to mention Qriraura to Yu Jie, not wanting to give a scare about her being a Yandere. Yu Jie comforted him. "It's okay to be anxious, Harley. Do you have a girlfriend?" She asked. "Well…yes. And no. I had a girlfriend named Desdemona, but we broke up months ago." Harley said. "Why did you break up?" Yu Jie asked. "Well, you see it all started back during an incident at the Club Slug scam where we first met. We started dating for a while, but after the final battle with Dr. Blakk, we both decided that we were better as friends." Harley explained. As they talked, a familiar female was peeking on them through the window. It was Qriraura! She saw her 'beloved' Harley talking with Yu Jie and grew maliciously jealous. "You will not take my Harley away from me, Yu Jie Hanadera. I'll see you dead before I let that happen." She said, glaring murderously as she plotted to kill Yu Jie.
Later, Yu Jie stepped outside and started practicing her Slug Fu. But then suddenly, as she perfected her stances, she was hit on the back of her head from behind and knocked out as Qriraura's voice laughed in the air, echoing through her head.
Later, as night started to fall, Junjie was out looking for Yu Jie. "Yu Jie! Yu Jie!" He called. "Junjie, what's all the shouting for?" Eli asked. "I've been looking for Yu Jie all day. But I haven't seen her since this morning." Junjie said. "Well, I wonder where she could've gone. She wouldn't have just left without telling us." Kord said. Suddenly, Harley's eyes glowed as he was shown a vision of the future.

Yu Jie was held in an unknown cavern, tied up and gagged. Qriraura appeared and was looking murderous with a wicked smile. She was holding a knife in her right hand. Raising the knife, she brought it down and stabbed Yu Jie several times. Blood was everywhere with Yu Jie screaming in horrified pain and agony, followed by Qriraura's insane, joyful laughter.
[Vision End]
Harley was horrified by what he saw as he gasped in horror. "Harley! Harley, are you okay?" Trixie asked with concern. "No. No, I'm not. I had a vision and saw what happened." Harley said. "And what did you see?" Aerona asked. "Yu Jie…was kidnapped." Harley said. "Kidnapped?!" Rayona asked in shock. "By who?" Cilan asked. "Qriraura." Harley revealed. "The girl from the mall? She kidnapped her? But why?" Eli asked. "It's because she's a Yandere." Zoom said. "Uh, what is a Yandere?" Pronto asked. "It's a type of character who is love sick and has a darker side of them as love murder." Stanford explained. Most of the Heroix were shocked to hear that. "If Qriraura's kidnapped Yu Jie, we need to figure out where she's taken her." Kord said. "I know where they are. I was shown the location in my vision. The Haunted Marshlands." Harley said. "The Haunted Marshlands. Ah, long has a molenoid such as myself desire to trek his way into the second most scariest place in all of Slugterra." Pronto said. "No, Pronto. If we all go, Qriraura might completely lose it and kill Yu Jie. I…I've seen it." Harley said. The Heroix was horrified when he said that. "I need to rescue Yu Jie. I need a select few of you to help me." Harley said. "Zen and I will help you find her, Harl." Zoom said. "And me." Riggorix said. "Me too." Finn said. "And me too." Cellica said. "Junjie, I cannot ask you to put yourself at risk like your sister." Harley said. "Harley, I know that you care about my sister. That is why I'm coming to help." Junjie said. Harley nodded.
Later, the small group journeyed to the Haunted Marshlands. They arrived in time as they spotted Qriraura preparing to kill Yu Jie. "You will not take my Harley away from me." Qriraura said as she raised her knife. But Zoom shot one of his arrows, knocking the knife out of her hand. It landed in the murky waters and sank down into the depths. "Stop!" Harley exclaimed as he and his group ran up. "Stop what you're doing, Qriraura!" "No! Why? Why did you do that? I'm only doing this so that you and I can be together, Harley." Qriraura said. "No, Qriraura. I don't love you that way. What you're doing, it doesn't bring you love. And it never will. I don't love you, Qriraura, and I never ever will." Harley said. Qriraura couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her right eye started twitching until…she let out an angry cry. "You! You reject my love?! I'll kill you! And I'll kill your friend! I'll kill you both!" She declared insanely. Then, she took out an Omen Whistle. "No! Qriraura, don't! Don't blow that whistle!" Harley exclaimed. But too late. Qriraura blew the whistle and summoned an Omentaur. It emerged from the murky depths, letting out a loud roar. It looked like the famous Loch Ness Monster. "A Murky Depth." Zoom said, recognizing the Omentaur. "Okay. This is bad." Finn said as the group looked on with worry.
The group engaged the Murky Depth as Qriraura watched the scene with her wicked smile. Finn fired several light arrows, but the Murky Depth barely felt it. Junjie slung Joo-Joo and performed his Slug Fu, but even that barely scratched the Murky Depth's skin. "We're not making a scratch on this thing!" Cellica exclaimed as she prepared to attack with her blades. But the Murky Depth swatted her with its giant flipper, knocking her aside. "Nothing can stop this thing." Harley said. "No, wait. I just remembered a move that can stop this thing." Zoom said. "Can it destroy this Omentaur?" Harley asked. "It can. But I need to focus my power before I shoot it." Zoom said. Harley nodded, knowing what he had to do. He turned to face the Murky Depth as Zoom prepared an arrow. Harley fired his Nether beams from his eyes, distracting it as Zoom fueled the arrow with an unfamiliar energy. The Murky Depth eventually caught Harley and pinned him down under its flipper. It bared its teeth as Qriraura laughed wickedly. "Bye-bye, Harley Shane." She said insanely. But then, Zoom readied his new arrow. "Sacred Arrow!" He shouted, firing the arrow at the Murky Depth. It struck the Omentaur, causing it to roar in agony before it disintegrated into ash. The group sighed in relief as the ashes fell. Junjie looked at Zoom. He was surprised that he shot a Sacred Arrow. His ancestor had done that before. Harley looked over to Yu Jie, relieved that she was safe. But Qriraura was gone, having escaped after the fight. Harley untied Yu Jie and ungagged her. They hugged each other in relief.
A day after the battle at the Haunted Marshlands, it was the day of Valentine's Day. Everyone in the 99 Caverns celebrated with their lovers and soulmates. Even the Heroix Crusaders are celebrating at the Shane Hideout. Couples were giving each other Valentine's gifts which they bought at Caverna Mall while singles were enjoying themselves by eating foods cooked by Rayona. Eliza was given a heart-shaped box of chocolates from Will. Xana wanted some of the chocolates. So, Eliza gave her baby daughter a sweet chocolate and she happily ate it, making her laugh happily.
Outside the hideout, Yu Jie was sitting down, feeling shaken from yesterday. Her mind lingered about Qriraura trying to kill her for taking Harley away and almost stabbing her with a knife. "Yu Jie." Harley called, interrupting her thoughts. She turned her head to see him walking up to her. "How are you doing?" He asked. "Well, I'm still a bit shaken from what happened yesterday, and it's been lingering my mind ever since." Yu Jie said. Harley sat down next to her and comforted her. "It's alright now. You're safe." He said. "But Qriraura is still out there somewhere. And I doubt that she'll not give up that easily until I'm dead and you're hers." Yu Jie said. "She won't. I rejected her and she won't be after you to kill you as long as I'm here to protect you." Harley said. Then he reached into his pocket, took out a small blue box and held it out to Yu Jie. "Oh, what is that?" Yu Jie asked curiously. "Open it and see." Harley said. Yu Jie stared at the box for a second, took it and opened it. Inside it revealed to be a pair of rings. "Harley, what are these rings for?" Yu Jie asked, surprised. "Well, Yu Jie, they're actually promise rings. Yu Jie, ever since the day we met, I always thought you were brave, smart, funny and beautiful. I thought to myself, after Desdemona and I broke up, Yu Jie is the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with. In other words…I'm in love with you." Harley revealed. Yu Jie was surprised to hear that. "Yu Jie Hanadera, will you accept one of these promise rings and be my girlfriend?" Harley asked. Yu Jie stayed silent for a bit before she answered… "Yes. Yes, I will, Harley Shane." She said, her eyes welling up. She happily accepted one of the promise rings as Harley put them on. As they wore the rings, they held each other close as they shared a kiss. Thus, their future had begun as they promised to get married to each other when they got older.
Well, how was that? The Heroix Crusaders were setting up for Valentine's Day. But then, Harley gets stalked by a crazy Yandere girl, Qriraura, who later kidnaps Yu Jie and brings her to the Haunted Marshlands. When Harley rejected Qriraura's love, she went ballistic and used an Omen Whistle to summon a Murky Depth. After Harley's group destroyed the Omentaur, Qriraura disappeared. As Valentine's Day rolled around, Harley gave a promise ring to his one true love, Yu Jie. But will Qriraura return for her revenge? Are Harley and Yu Jie endgame? Leave a review if you want.
