Ten years after the tragic death of Squall and the rise of Rinoa-Ultimecia, SeeDs struggle to protect the world from her onslaught, seeking to survive until the day when the Fated Children will come and save them. But what if simply waiting for the future isn't enough? What if more needs to be done before Ultimecia's fate is truly sealed? [Sequel to Ascension of Witches]

Following Ultimecia's defeat, the world is left in shambles. Though he'd like to step down, Squall knows he has a responsibility to do all he can to help. Rinoa, meanwhile, has to deal with her newfound abilities and their side-effects. While President Loire has some news of his own that he has to break, which might be just enough to push Squall over the edge.

Squall goes back to Esthar to give his report to President Loire. What he learns about himself and his "family" turns his entire world upside-down.
