Blood. Screaming. Ringing in her ears.
Everything looked like a scene from a horror story. At least, in her eyes, it seemed that way.
As she stayed in place, mind too slow to catch up with everything happening around her, loud noises passed her by in blurs. Bullets simply flew over her head, miraculously none ever hitting her. Yet, nothing stopped the enemies from advancing on her with drawn swords and loaded rifles.
But then, there was fire. Everywhere.
Was she going to die? Die by these flames? She... She didn't mind that...
No. The flames never touched her. There was warmth and a lot of yelling. But what they were yelling about, she didn't know. She didn't know anything.
Then, everything was cold. Cold as anything can ever be. Colder than anything she ever felt. She started to shiver. Violently.
But the warmth came back. And this time, it wrapped itself around her. Protectively. Tightly.
More yelling. What was there to yell about? Why were they yelling? Her ears hurt.
Then again, her eyes hurt. Her hands hurt. Her head hurt. Everything hurt her.
Yet, the most excruciating pain was within her heart. She felt like wrenching it out. Rip her chest open and grab her heart to throw far, far away. Away to a place she might never find it again. She hated this pain. She wanted this to stop. She wanted everything to stop.
Why was she the one to suffer so much? Why was she the one who had to sacrifice everything for the sake of everyone? Why was she the one who had to feel all this pain?
Did she deserve all this? Someone once told her... She forgot who it was... But that person said that nothing happens without a reason. Everything is as it should be.
So then...what was the reason for all this? What was the reason for her to suffer? What was the reason for her to have to sacrifice everything she ever had?
The screaming stopped.
She saw nothing more.
