Chapter one: "Bad Moon Rising"
Jason was submerged into the Lazarus Pit by Talia al Ghul. As the mystic waters bathed Jason and began reviving him, the teenager receives visions of another life he doesn't remember living.
He saw a white wolf birth seven pups, with the runt caring for her the most. The others abandoned her as she died from depression while the Runt stayed behind. The runt tried to protect her body from scavengers but was too small and weak to do anything. After he wasn't able to protect her body, the runt began eating creatures smaller then him to gain strength and size, eating bigger animals as he himself got bigger. He would travel north like his brothers to find his father, The North Wind, but would instead challenge him only to be defeated repeatedly. He continued to try seven times but eventually believed he could never win. As he continued to eat bigger creatures, he eventually got to humans, causing them great terror. They called him the Big Bad Wolf.
"Aargh!", Jason roared as he came out from the pit. His eyes didn't glow the green that most bathers did when in the pit but of a golden orange color, and his scleras a reddish color. His teeth and nails sharpened to fangs and claws.
"What on Earth...?", Ra's al Ghul says with wide eyes in a state of shock, never seeing or experiencing such a reaction to the Lazarus Pit.
Jason rushed out of the green waters in a feral frenzy, "Stop him!", Ra's ordered his men but Jason swiped one at his jaw causing it to split open and bleed profusely along with breaking the guys neck. Jason then jumped at the other mam and stuck his thumbs into his eyes. He backhanded a third man that approached him before running further from the pit.
Ra's and his daughter, Talia, gave chase as Jason ran through their compound, eventually making way through his study. Jason roared as he jumped out the biggest window and made his way through the surrounding foliage.
"Talia, I need...", He went to ask his daughter to send out their men only to find her gone from beside him.
As Jason made his way through the forest away from Ra's al Ghul and his League of Shadows, more thoughts and memories went through his head. Flashes of three pigs, a girl wearing a red hooded cloak, 7 goats, some boy with sheep, and another boy called Peter.
He heard a rustle near him and stopped to see Talia. He stayed crouched with his sharp claws at the ready.
"Todd, we need to get out of here", she says to the feral teen.
"I didn't push you into the Lazarus Pit so father could experiment on you so lets go", she continued before running away from the compound. Though he was sceptic of her, Jason followed with his teeth and nails returning to there normal shapes and his eyes to a shade of blue.
Talia had led him to a private jet and the duo boarded. Talia had got the pilot to fly and they were now off Infinity Island.
"Alright, Jason there is some things you need to know while you were gone", Talia tells Jason. She continues to inform him how Joker is still very much alive and still causing the same chaos and murder he is known for. And Batman just continues the cycle of arresting him and sending to Arkham only for him to escape and do it again. Also, there was a new Robin working with Batman, it wasn't Dick since the kid was obviously younger. Needless to say, jason wasn't feeling up to return to Gotham right now or he might unleash his beastly side.
After some thinking, Jason asked Talia, "Do you know a place where I can train my... condition and also learn more?".
She seemed to smirk as they continued to fly away.
Five Years Later
It's now the year 2020, and a lot has happened since.
First, Talia took Jason to a secret sanctuary of an ancient order known as the All-Caste. There, Jason learned many fighting techniques and other skills before going through a cleansing or something that so few of those trained could achieve. In the process, he learned that fables and fairy tales are real and that he was the reincarnation of the Big Bad Wolf also referred to as Bigby Wolf in his human form. He was cursed to die seven times and one was so bad, he gained a completely new life, and when he died once more as Jason Todd, he came back with his Wolf. He then changed his name to Jason Wolf.
During the training, Jason discovered more of his powers. He has enhanced physical condition, beyond that of peak humans like Batman. He also had enhanced sense, able to see, hear, and smell things that others. Jason also could shapeshift and had limited aerokinesis due to the North Wind being his father, technically. He had a fantastic healing factor that could heal him from the most grievous injuries without so much as a scar left behind, which made him wonder how bad it was for Bigby to reincarnate into Jason. And as a Fable, he was essentially immortal and invulnerable though its based on his popularity, though as the Big Bad Wolf and everyone knew him, although he was also Jason Wolf so its a coin toss.
Due to his shapeshifting, he has four solid forms he can take. The first is his normal human form, physically perfect body with wild bed hair and an unshaven face. Next was his Wolfman form, his chest, forearms, facial hair all get hairier and bushier while his teeth and nails become fangs and claws, his eyes gain the yellow irises and reddish sclera. His third is what he calls his Werewolf form, gaining maybe a foot in height and a hundred pounds of muscle, his eyes being an orange color, he's lucky to keep his pants in this form. Last is his full Wolf form, where he has the blackest fur and is 12-15 feet tall quadrupedal wolf, along with pure red eyes. His powers get stronger with each form.
Jason bonded with Talia during his training, even having a sexual relationship for a time but Talia would leave and return intermediately, becoming his only contact with the outside world.
It was about a year after the Reach Invasion that she returned one day with a more prominent belly, revealing to be pregnant. She never went to deep into it but implied that Bruce was the father. She then revealed that her father had left the leadership of the League of Shadows and Ducre, the leader of the All-Caste, said he completed the training and could leave at any time , she even gifted him the All-Blades. The All-Blades are mystic blades designed to kill magic-based threats that can only be summoned in the presence of evil and can be empowered by the wielders blood and soul.
Jason then returns to Infinity Island with Talia while dressed as a red hooded ninja. Ra's seemed to know it was him and offered the services of Sensei, who left the League of Shadows with Ra's, to train Jason.
He then spent the next few years with them. Talia gave birth to a son named Damian. Jason was referred to as Red Hood as to avoid using his name. He fought against Dick and his newest posse, though he wasn't recognized due to his mask, goggles, and hood. Cheshire and Onyx later joined as Sensei's students so they could be cured of the Shadows conditioning.
However, he was now leaving. Recently, he regained some more memories about his previous life and learned about Fabletown and the Fables living in New York. He was now on a plane to America with Talia and a toddler Damien. He remembered that Fables couldn't mention Fabletown and that they were Fables to the mundane aka Mundies, so Talia was just dropping him off.
New York, 2020
It has been maybe an hour or two since Jason landed in New York, most of that time was getting Damian to let go of him when he was saying good-bye to the mother and son.
He was walking through Manhattan as more memories showed a building called Woodland Luxury Apartments aka The Woodlands.
It was late in the evening when Jason actually got to the Woodlands.
"Not as luxurious as the name would imply", he commented at seeing the fenced off bricked building that was at least 13 stories tall, with trees in front of the building within the fence. Jason tries the gate but it appears to be locked, so Jason easily climbed over after making sure no one was looking.
He makes way to the entrance, looking around at the trees and noticing a [Don't Walk On The Grass] sign. He entered the double doors into the lobby. The Lobby was a yellowish color, a waiting area with couches and tables of magazines were just ahead, some stairs to the right and around it. Two elevators were to the left wall with a hallway to their right, the security desk was just to Jason's right with the security guard asleep. Jason sighed at that before looking to his left to see the mail boxes on the wall left of the elevators and just to the right of the doors.
Jason went to the elevator, he remembered the floor of his old apartment and of the Business Office as he pushed the button to summon the elevator. Once it arrived and it's doors opened, Jason stepped inside and pushed the button for the floor he was heading for before the doors close.
The elevator stops on his floor and Jason gets off. The halls are the same yellowish color with a ton of portraits of trees and forests, probably to accent the name and make some of those that live here remember home.
Making his way down the halls he came across the Business Office.
"It's best I introduce myself to those in charge", Jason mumbles to himself, thankful that there wasn't a line like he remembered there being a lot of in his previous life.
He opened the door to see the room that was far bigger than one would think with a couple of desks nearly twenty yards in within an open area along with a big table to the right with a book stand near it. Jason could see iconic fairy tale items like Cinderella's carriage, The Magic Lamp, and believes is the Magic Mirror from Snow White's tale.
There is only to people in front of Jason, a man and a woman.
The man looked like middle aged caucasian with balding grey hair. He was tall and lanky, rather wimpy looking while dressed in a old school suit and eyeglasses clipped onto his big nose. Jason remembered him as Ichabod Crane.
The woman is also caucasian and has piercing blue eyes and gorgeous silky black hair done in a bun. She wore a navy blue suit skirt, a whitish tan suit jacket, a snowflake themed blue dress shirt under it. Jason remembered her as Snow White
Jason quietly walked to them, which was easy as the two were arguing over some shit, he remembered them doing a lot of that from before.
"Boo!", Jason called out as he was now right next the the duo. They jumped back in fright before taking in his human form.
"What is this?! Who are you?!", Crane loudly inquires of Jason, angered at being interrupted, or just angry in general. Snow was also a little upset at the scare but was more curious about him as she doesn't know who he is and is probably wondering what a Mundy is doing in their Offices.
"Just getting your attention, as for who I am, I'm Jason Wolf, though you may remember me as Bigby Wolf aka The Big Bad Wolf.", Jason informs them.
They, of course, were taken aback by this claim, with Crane stuttering, "W-Whatever d-do you...?"
Jason made his eyes wolfish and his teeth into fangs before growling, "No need to bullshit me Crane, I'm not a Mundy", before his features returned back to human.
"Bigby? But when a Fable dies a new one is born to take their place, not reborn", Snow questions him, though a little to herself.
"I was cursed to die seven times, so when one damaged beyond return, I reincarnated, when I died again is when I became the Big Bad Wolf once more", Jason explained to the two, how he was back with all is memories.
"Well, it's good to see you again... Jason", Snow says to him, though hesitant at his new name. They worked closely together before he died, so there's some tension right now.
"Yes... good", Crane muttered. Crane and Bigby never got along, and Jason felt as though that won't change. "Miss White, why don't you get him situated, I have... some other business to attend to", He orders Snow White before leaving the office
"You've been gone for over twenty years", Snow says, a little uncomfortable at the situation, though glad he is back. Even if he might be different to what she remembered.
"Yeah, I might need to be caught up on any Fabletown news", Jason states before laning against the table that had some papers and books.
"Well, nothing much has changed for Fabletown itself since you... left", she informs him.
Jason brow scrunches, "Really?", not believing that since it has been at least 21 years since they last saw each other.
"Though only big thing was the advancement of Mundy inventions and our use of them", she says before clearing her throat, "as for the position of Sheriff, no one has held the title for long before leaving it behind".
"Hmmm, is that an offer?", Jason inquires.
"If you wish to return to work, we need you back as sheriff", Snow says to him.
"Yeah, I was still trying to keep the peace for the people around me for the past 20 years anyway, so nothing would change for me", Jason says as he scratches the back of his head.
"OK then... oh wait", Snow says before calling out, "BUFKIN!", soon there was a yelp then a yell of, "Coming, Miss Snow" and a green furred monkey with green feathered wings flew to them.
"What is it, Miss Snow?", Bufkin asks Snow what she wanted of him.
"I need the Fable Registration book for an alteration", Snow tells him to do.
The monkey quickly flies off to get the book.
"So, is my old apartment also still available or do I need to find a new one?", Jason asked her as he messes with his bag.
"Uh yeah, no one really wants the smallest apartment in the Woodlands", Snow informs him.
"It's also the cheapest because of that", Jason tells her, to which she shrugs in agreement.
Bufkin returns with the requested book and puts it on the book stand, "So, may I ask who is it we are amending today.
Snow goes and opens it, flipping to a page that shows his old face with his old information. [DECEASED] was stamped over the page in red ink.
"Alright, just prick your finger and press it on the page", Snow informs, to which Jason complies. He turns his thumb nail into a claw and pricked his index finger, holding in some to bleed and quickly put it on the page before it healed.
The page then began to change, the [DECEASED] was erased, his portrait changed to his currant face, Jason Todd and Jason Wolf was added to his list of alternate names, along with the fact that he lived as a Mundy in Gotham the past 20 years, thankfully nothing about him being Robin or anything like that.
"So you're back, Sheriff Bigby", Bufkin says with a goofy smile while Jason chuckled at that.
"It's Jason now, the name my mundy mother gave me, though you can call me Sheriff Wolf when I'm working", Jason tells the flying monkey with a friendly smile.
"Sheriff Jason Wolf, eh", Bufkin says while scratching his chin, testing the title rolling from his tongue.
"Well, now that that's over, do you want me to take you to your old apartment?", Snow says after finalizing the update.
"No, I know where it is", Jason informs, "you probably have work to do and I need to set myself up and probably need to get new appliances and a mattress".
Jason bids farewell to his preferred duo of the Business Office and heads to his new/old apartment.
He entered to see his apartment, nothing having changed in the past. From the entrance, the kitchen was to his left and the bathroom through the door to his right. Their was a medium size purplish rug in front of the entrance door. A wooden desk with no chair was to the left of the bathroom door, with an old desk lamp and some books on it. To the left of the desk was the door to the closet. There is a small dinner table with two mitch-matching chairs, a small turning fan on the chair to the left. In an enclave next to the kitchen was his old bluish chair with a desk/side-table with an old tv on the opposite wall, with a small painting of Red Riding Hood behind the chair on the wall. There was a steam heater below the window near the chair with a set of window fans near it.
Yeah, he definitely needs to upgrade this apartment to modern times.
He sets his duffle bag down and sits in the chair, he got as comfortable as possible for the ancient chair before falling asleep

AN: I like the Wolf Among Us game so I had Jason take Bigby's place.
This will also crossover with GRIMM, Universal Monster movies throughout the years, Twilight (Mostly for Jason to tear it to shreds), and other fairy tales / fables.
