Ok, brand new idea. Let's see what we think, shall we?
Announcements bellow.
He was the first.
He was the first to step out of the shadows and stand in the light for all to see. Nearly two hundred years ago, the world learned that it was not alone in the universe and the human race learned just how small and weak they really were. He saved them, and time and time again he appeared when he was needed and did what needed to be done to keep people safe. He never let anything get in the way of protecting those who needed it.
He was the example that set the standards for what it meant to do good and what it meant to be a hero. Lessons from him were being taught to every generation that wished to take up the title of hero, lessons that were never ignored.
When he first stepped out of the shadows, at the start it seemed that he would stand alone but as he himself told the people 'A hero is never alone' another stepped out into the light, followed soon by others. A warrior princess, a man cloaked in shadows, a machine with a soul, a telepathic refugee, a king of seas and a police officer of the stars.
More and more started to appear and together they protected the world, it was the start of the age of heroes. They stood tall and the longer they did so, the more people stepped out to join them, for decades they stood as pillars of light that beat back the shadow, raised others up and kept them safe.
Then the first Quirk appeared, and the world changed yet again, but they didn't panic at the sight of these powers. They were accepted and the world evolved with its people, things were difficult, especially when more and more Quirks started to appear. Many changes needed to happen, and it took time, sweat, and tears but they did it in the end and they did it mainly because he was there to show them how. He showed them that they could do anything as long as they worked together, and people believed him.
Why wouldn't they? For over a hundred years he was the hero of the world and everyone looked up to him for they knew he would always be there to keep them safe and he was there, even when he had a family of his own, he was there for everything. Every crime, every disaster, he was always going to be there, and he was always there.
Until he wasn't.

The young man let out a sigh as he switched off the TV in his room and seemed to sink even further into the corner of his bed as he sat down. His eyes were red with the amount of tears that had been shed in the last couple of days, his head dropped and he let out a sigh as he rested it on his hand for a moment as he tried to come up with some method that would allow him to regain his composure.
Knowing that sitting down would only make him think of bad thoughts more as he wallowed, he instead stood up and made his way to his window. The large view of the city through the high-rise apartment was as great as it always was, despite the dark clouds and light rain 'Appropriate' he thought to himself as he realized the weather fit the event perfectly.
He could make out the slight reflection of himself in the window and brought up a hand to fix his hair, he stood at a normal five-ten in height, and his eyes were short only just stopping before his eyebrows which were neatly folded back over his head to give him a more tidy and clean look, it was a dark raven in colour which he got from his mom. His eyes were a light blue that he got from his dad, there was a very small scar above his left eye from an accident when he was younger. He could also make out a collection of hair around his chin that was only just visible now if you looked really closely.
A small flash on the underside of his eye caught his attention and he looked down, a small scowl appeared on his face as he saw a small army of people outside the doors to the building "fucking parasites" he muttered to himself, he really didn't like the media.
"Kon?" a voice called out to him from behind and he turned in time to see his bedroom door open and his mum stepped into his room. Despite what some may have been expecting, she wasn't wearing all black like he and many others would be. Instead, she was wearing a mostly white ceremonial armour that her people's tradition demanded she wear. The now number-one hero of the world was sporting a large scar that went from one side of his face to the other, corner to corner. Disrupting what many would say was a perfect face in terms of beauty but Princess Diana was nothing if not an Amazon, she took a wound like that the same way one would take a haircut.
It was clear she's spent a great deal of time crying as well, not surprising considering her husband just died "Are you ready?" she asked him.
Kon-El or Johnathan Kent as he was called by some, a sixteen-year-old young man nodded before turning to the bed and picking up his jacket. She watched as he put it on and walked towards her, they stood in front of each other for a moment before she reached out and hugged him, something that was returned and the two stayed like that for a moment before they turned to leave.
Making their way through the apartment that seemed so cold compared to how it normally was, the two made their way to the door which was just an elevator that would take them to the ground. Diana nodded towards the man dressed in all black who was standing in the corner of the elevator, the man nodded back before he reached up and pressed a finger to his ear "Moving down now" he said quietly.
A security detail was never something they needed and despite everything, they didn't need one now either. Wonder Woman was one of the most capable fighters and heroes in the world and despite not being an official hero himself, Kon has been taught how to use his powers his whole life. Not on par with either of his parents but he could hold his own well enough, the security wasn't for them but more so for all the others who thought it was a good idea to try something stupid, not a good idea given the state he was in.
The doors opened again and they stepped out into the lobby, it was empty except for more guards, all of whom turned and started to make their way towards them as they approached the door. When they did so they held a tight formation around them and four held umbrellas to keep them driving. By now the dozens and dozens of reporters had seen them and did what they always did. When the doors opened they practically crawled over each other to try and get closer to ask questions. A barricade on each side and rows of police kept them back but the flashes of cameras always made him wince, not that he showed that type of weakness today.
The security walked on either side of the two as well as front and behind them, giving them, even more, cover from the people as the two neared the limo waiting for them, the door was opened for them and they quickly made their driver didn't waste any time in driving off, something he was grateful for "damn zombies" Kon muttered to himself as he gave them all a final glance before they were out of view.
"Please Kon" Diana said as he brought up her hand and rested her head on it as she looked out the window on her side "Not today"
It was a simple request but the way she sounded so defeated is what made him sink into himself "ok" he said back as the two settled into silence and just looked out their windows. Kon couldn't help but take in how dark the city looked now, there were so many people on the streets. Not everyone was wearing black but he could see that nearly everyone was wearing a black armband that held a silver symbol of their house. It was a nice gesture and at least in his eyes, a lot more meaningful than seeing giant banners of the same symbol hanging from almost every building.
The drive didn't last long, only ten minutes or so. No doubt faster than normal due to most of the roads being closed, allowing those who were invited to reach the park quicker.
It wasn't being held in a church, many reasons for that. The first is that his dad didn't follow any Earth religion despite respecting people's beliefs, and the second is that if he was put to rest with one religion it would alienate people who followed others. When they slowed down and reached the park in the middle of the city, it was hard not to see the large statue in the middle of it. Not the closest likeness to Superman but it was close enough, made of white marble, it was positioned half-crouched, holding up a large ball that looked like Earth. Not the worst type of symbolism he could have.
The door was opened for him, and he stepped out, he quickly saw rows and rows of chairs in front of the statue, a small podium in front of that so people could say a few words. There was another line of barricades around the chairs once again for the reporters but thankfully, these ones knew what their jobs were and were completely silent as they held their cameras and their pens and paper pads. Turning around to the other side of the road, he saw another barricade, this one held what seemed to be thousands of people on the other side, the crowd for the everyday person to stand and pay respects.
Seeing his mom make her way out, he offered her a hand that she took as she climbed out. The two turned to face the crowd as the limo drove off, those who had been invited were varied, to say the least. Many people were gathered but he could also make out a handful of different aliens as well, it was easy to see due to the sheer difference in appearance. For others it might be hard to tell due to the difference between some quirks people could have, he remembered a good friend he had when he was a kid looking like a humanoid lizard.
Though there was one who was waiting for them who approached and seeing him did bring a small smile to his face "Uncle J'onn" he said as the trio approached each other.
The last child of Mars smiled down at him as they met "It is good to see you young Kon, it has been too long" he said placing a hand on his shoulder and turning to look at Diana "I'm glad to see you have recovered from your injury. How are you?" he asked.
Diana could do little more than let a shrug escape her "he's been a part of my life for so long, it's hard to believe he's truly gone" she explained.
J'onn nodded to her in understanding "Where it so easy" was all he said to that, not much else he could say though it wasn't lost on either of them that he would be the best person to talk to regarding mourning what was lost "it's going to be a couple more minutes before he arrives for burial, let me take you to your seats" he added as he turned and offered a hand to the new window. Something she took with a soft smile as the two marched forward towards the front of the crowd.
Kon aimed to go with them but found himself stopping for a moment and letting the rain fall on him for a few more moments, at least that was the plan before he was knocked out of his musings by a large muscular arm "What's this I see, some little punk playing in the rain?" despite the situation, Kon couldn't help the smile that came onto his face.
"Hey Aunt Cathy" he said with a smile as he looked at the large blonde woman who stared down at him. Cathleen Bate, more commonly known as Star and Stripe, is the U.S.A.'s number one hero and former sidekick to Superman. His dad had many sidekicks over the years, and she was one when he was still really young, so it wasn't crazy to think that he imprinted on her a little since she was around so much when he was young.
"Ah come on, we can't have you looking so down" She raised a hand into the air above him "Air. Harden around the park thickly enough for the rain to not get through" she said aloud, and he watched as a shield was quickly formed in the air above the park, a large dome starting to appear that would keep everyone dry.
Some would say that it was foolish to use her Quirk for something so silly but given today, he assumed people could deal with it. Besides it was her Quirk, she could use it however she liked, and it wasn't like this was against the law "That's better, like to see you try and be some emo edge lord now" she joked.
The attitude rubbed off on him and for a couple of moments, he was able to forget that this wasn't a funeral for his dad. Seeing his improved mood, she decided to not let up "Come on, there's something you need to meet" she said all but dragging him off into the crowd.
Despite how much she would stand out in the everyday crowd, hardly anybody noticed her here, hell she wasn't even the tallest here by far. There were a handful of aliens that towered over even her, impressive considering she was nearly seven feet. He didn't know where she was taking him but when they reached the middle of the crowd, he had a very good idea based on the large blond tufts of hair sticking out from a man's head.
"Hey Toshi" she called out as the two reached the small group of four, all of whom turned to look at them as they got closer. Now he knew why she wanted him to come to this, two people he recognized and two he didn't. The first he saw was Toshinori Yagi, more commonly known as All Might. Japan's number one hero another former sidekick of his dad. The other next to him was a tiny animal that wore a black suit along with everyone else, if he wasn't mistaken then this was Professor Nezu, the Principal of U.A. Asia's number one hero academy and one of the best in the world. The other two he didn't recognize, were a middle-aged man who brown hair and a smaller younger girl who looked the same age as himself, both of whom wore glasses.
"Cathy" All Might said with a bright smile as he looked at Cathy "so good to see you again my friend, it's been far too long"
"Good to see you as well Toshi" smiled back as she let go of Kon's shoulder and the two clasped hands in a tight squeeze. When they didn't let go immediately and saw their hands shaking slightly, it was clear they were trying to push the others back. Both of them smiled brightly the whole time, though they both seemed stuck in the middle.
"Well, while they do that" Nezu started as he stepped forward to look at Kon "I must say it is an absolute pleasure to meet you, young man. My name is Nezu" said lifting up his hand.
Kon took it and shook it firmly "It's good to meet you as well, I've heard good things"
"I'm glad to hear it, I've heard the same of you" There was a sound of a small crack and all present turned to see the ground under Cathy's feet crack slightly as her face started to strain, her arm being pushed back bit by bit While All Might looked like he wasn't even breaking a sweat.
"Ah" Cathy gasped as her hand gave out and she was pushed back "damnit, I'll get you next time old man" she threatened with a bright smile.
"HAHAHA" All Might laughed loudly "First time for everything" he then turned to look at Kon "And I must say young man it is a shame that I have never had the chance to meet you in person until now. Before I forget, allow me to introduce a good friend of mine David Sheild and his daughter Melissa"
The two stepped forward, and Kon reached out to shake the man's hand, now knowing why he looked so familiar "It's good to meet you" he added, and the man's smile vanished as he looked down at the hand. He stared at it for a couple of seconds before he snapped himself out of some funk he was in and reached out and grabbed it.
"Sorry" he was quick to apologise as he shook Kon's hand "Thanks to this one" he nodded towards All Might "I have a thing about shaking hands of strong people"
The explanation brought a small smile to his face, and the large hero laughed, "Hahaha, and I have apologised many times for my mistake. Please let it go." Though it was clearly a joke, there were signs of stress on his face.
"I will never let it go" David smiled back as he gestured to the smaller blonde next to him "Sorry, let me introduce my daughter Melissa"
Kon turned to look at her and reached out with his hand to shake hers but to his surprise she took a step forward and wrapped her hands around him, pulling him into a tight hug. Her arms squeezed tightly around his neck as her cheek was pressed against his, his eyes were wide at the action but he was quick to understand why she was doing it. His eyes turned to look at the others giving him small sympathetic smiles of their own "I'm sorry for your loss" she whispered into his ear.
The words didn't surprise him and he reached up and hugged her back, though it wasn't as tightly as hers it was enough to let her know she wasn't the only one participating in the action "Thank you, it's nice to hear" he said.
She pulled back and smiled slightly at him "It's nice to meet you as well" she added before stepping back with her dad who gently placed a hand on her shoulder supporting her as well. When he looked just a little closer he could see that her eyes were starting to tear up ever so slightly.
Suddenly, without meaning his pupils started to twist and turn like a camera lens and just from his point of view, Melissa's clothes disappeared giving him a full view of her naked body, her decent-sized breasts, a small tuff of pubic hair near her crotch, the vagina itself and a…. tattoo? A small flower on her upper hip. It was only for a moment before her skin disappeared as well letting him see her muscles, organs, and bones "Ah" he winced at the sudden headache that came with the power he wasn't used to yet.
Before anyone could ask what was wrong, Kon felt his eyes heat up and quickly closed them. The others all watched as a bright blue light came from under his eyelids and he started to grit his teeth as he brought a hand up to his head. Both Toshi and Aunt Cath stepped forward towards him, the latter quickly moving in front of the two shields "You ok Kon?" Cath asked, knowing that he wasn't ok but he knew it was more of a 'do we need to get you out of here?' question.
"gah…" he gasped "Give…... me a moment" he gritted his teeth in pain but the pressure kept on building and he knew he needed to let it out "Guys, could you move around me? I don't want to distract anyone and Mom doesn't need any more stress" he requested.
"One moment" Toshi said as he heard shifted feet around him and he quickly brought up his other hand to his eye, if anyone was watching it would have looked like he was just crying heavily, not unexpected given the situation "Go" he said.
Kon let out a deep breath as he opened his eyes and while most couldn't see due to the large bulks of both number one heroes surrounding him, both shields and Nezu watched with an admitted fascination as a bright light shined through the gaps between his hands and face. It lasted for a few moments before it started to fade and brought his hands out slightly, they could see a clearly defined blue line shooting out from his eyes and hitting his hands. The young man was gritting his teeth trying not to cry out in pain.
Both heroes turned to look at him with concern as he lowered his hands completely and took a couple of deep breaths, resting his hands on his knees as the blue light from his eyes faded completely. Feeling a hand on his shoulder, he looked up to see Cath looking down at him with no small amount of concern, despite the fear from the others, they felt the same as well "And here I was thinking that the only part of your dads eyes you got was the colour" she joked, trying to lower the tension.
Something that seemed to work as he picked himself up and took a couple of deep breaths "It started happening two weeks ago" he explained "Dad gave me a little overview of what to expect but no real training. He said we would get to it later" he added glancing at the statue.
"Well, if I may be so bold" Nezu started as he took a step forward "There are more people who are capable of training those to use their power" he not so subtly hinted.
"Nezu" Toshi said as he took a step beside the principal "I thought we agreed you wouldn't try it" he frowned slightly.
"I wouldn't be much of a principal if I didn't make the attempt, now would I?" he smiled back as he glanced at All Might "I would just like to say if you do intend to follow in the footsteps of your father you do need to get into a hero academy"
"And let me guess, U.A is the perfect one for me, it's the best one in the world and I would be a fool not to go" Kon finished for him with a small frown on his face as he looked down at the small mouse-like animal.
"Oh yes to all those things" Nezu smiled "but the truth is…... and I guarantee this, every other academy in the world will still require you to apply, go through initiation and the like" he reached into his pocket and grabbed a small card "But not U.A, I know what it's like to lose a parent. I imagine that you feel a great deal of apathy, if you find the energy to go through the process you won't do it right because your heart won't be in it. Send an email to the address on that card and you're in, no questions asked, you'll start the new semester with class 1-A in three months. How's your Japanese?" he asked.
Kon took a moment to think about all that was said and yes, he did think I was a little scum-like to try and get him to go to his school while at his father's funeral but he had to admit, the little mouse wasn't wrong "As good as every other language" said in Japanese with a slight accent, he opened his mouth to elaborate but when he looked over David's shoulder, he caught a sight that made him close his eyes and let out a sigh "excuse me, I need to go fight with my grandmother. It was nice meeting you all" he said with a final nod before stepping away from the group and making his way towards the front of chairs towards his mom who was speaking to two people he hoped wouldn't be here.
Near the front, he could see that his mom was frowning with her arms crossed as she looked towards people dressed in the same ceremonial garb as herself. Both of which Kon knew very well "What's stopping you now?" the oldest of the women said, she was an admittedly beautiful woman with long blonde hair and a handful of wrinkles on her face that seemed to add to the hot mature look "surly now that your… husband is gone you can finally come home and do your duty" she said.
The callousness of her words brought an angry glare to his face "he's not even in the ground yet and you're already trying to get your claws into her. Have some tact you damn vulture" he made himself known as he stepped closer to his mom's side, something she seemed grateful for even though she was more than capable of dealing with her own mother.
The women frowned as they looked at him, not standing in front of them he could see that the other woman was General Antiope, his mom's aunt and an even bigger hater of him than Hippolyta "Grandson….. it's good to see you again" the strain in her voice was so clear he wondered why she bothered saying it at all.
"Don't lie to me" he said right back "We're at the funeral of her husband and my father. Can you have some tact, not a lot, just some. I thought queens were supposed to have manners" he added.
There was a lot of tension coming from the group that it started to draw the attention of others around them, helped in no small part by the general who placed a hand on the pommel of her sword as she stared daggers at Kon "speak with some respect boy" she all but snarled at him.
His own anger flared up even more as he looked at the general "Who invited you here anyway?" he asked "You're clearly not here to pay respect"
"Kon" his mom warned him herself as she reached out and grabbed his wrist with her hand, holding it tightly.
Before things could escalate further, they were interrupted "Kon, Diana" They both turned to see J'onn standing next to them looking off into the distance "he's here" he said.
They both turned to the road they arrived from and watched with no small amount of dread as two Green Lanterns hovered in the air, both of them using their rings to gently carry a black coffin in between them. He made to move forward but the pressure on his wrist stopped him and he turned to see Diana stuck in place as she looked at the coffin and some tears escaped her eyes. The anger in his own eyes faded as he escaped her grasp and took her hand in his, he stepped towards her and whispered in her ear "Come on" he said as he started to pull her down the row of chairs towards the coffin.
All Might and Star & Stripe were there already and J'onn was standing in front of them. When mother and son reached them, the Lanterns nodded and lowered the coffin towards them. Kon and Diana were in the front while the two large blondes were in the back since both were former sidekicks of Superman, it felt right that they would be the ones to help carry him forward.
When the Coffin reached them, Kon reached up and took hold of the front left handle, his mother taking the front right. All Might was behind him while Cathy was behind Diana, J'onn stood in front of them all and as one they started to walk forward.
Kon found himself surprised by how light it felt to carry though it was only halfway he realized how quiet it was, not just with the crowd around them but the thousands that were further out. No one was saying a word, the only sound came from the wind in the tree and birds singing as they always did.
Taking longer than he thought it would, they reached the front of the walkway where a hardwood table covered in red cloth was waiting for them, as they placed it down and then Kon was able to see the silver symbol of their house placed on top of it. The others started to make their way to the front row of seats, Kon stayed a moment longer before he placed his hand flat on the coffin and closed his eyes. He reached out with his senses for one last hope, a fool's gambit that he knew he shouldn't do but he couldn't help it. But there was nothing, no sounds of shallow breathing, no heartbeat, nothing. He was really gone.
Feeling a hand on his shoulder he opened his eyes to see Uncle J'onn looking at him, he took one final deep breath. Saying a final goodbye to his dad before he let go and made his way towards the chairs, sitting next to his mom who didn't hesitate to grab his hand for support.
Everyone was silent as they watched the last son of Mars move to the left towards a small podium where a microphone where he started to speak "Though we gather here today, bound together in sorrow and loss. We all share a precious gift; we are all of us privileged to live I life that has been touched by Superman. The man of steel had many incredible and extraordinary gifts, something he shared with us all freely. None of these gifts were more remarkable than his ability to discern what needed to be done and his unwavering courage in doing it, no matter the personal cost. Let us all strive to accept his gift and pass it along as an ongoing tribute to Kal-El of Krypton. The immigrant from the stars who taught me, who taught us all, how to be heroes"
Kon let a sigh escape him as he sat at the foot of his bed looking out the dark sky and bright city lights. The ceremony went on for a couple of hours, many people stepping forward to say a few words about him and what it meant for him to be here. His two immediate family members stayed silent the entire time and simply listened in, when it was all said and done the man was buried and the wake lasted hours more. So many people came up to them to offer kind words, he was surprised by how exhausted he felt as he sat down. Looking back he doesn't think he's ever felt this tired in his life and that was saying something.
Thankfully his grandmother took the not-so-subtle hint and didn't bring up the idea of his mom going back to that island, he had no idea how she was doing either. He wanted to comfort her but he didn't know how, he could just hope that standing by her side was enough. Leaning back his head bent the covers slightly and his jacket slipped off, Kon let out a sigh as he picked it off and tossed it back on the bed, a small white card falling out as it did so.
He reached out to grab it and despite himself, he did find himself looking at it for longer than he would have thought. It wasn't the worst idea in the world and thinking about it, he had no idea how he would find the energy to apply and go through the initiation tests. Just walking into one ofthe best academies on the first day didn't seem like the worst idea in the world.
Hearing the sound of the door open, he turned to see his mom step into his room carrying a bottle of wine, the cloak of her garb was probably on the floor somewhere and she stepped in. When she got closer to the window and the city lights hit her, he could see that her eyes were red and there were strains of tears going down her cheeks. Now that she didn't have to appear strong for the public, she allowed herself to mourn more openly.
Stepping into his room, he scooted away to make room and she sank to the ground next to him. The two sat in silence as they looked out the city, she took a drink from the bottle before passing it to him. He looked at it questioningly and she noticed "Come on, I know your dad shared a drink with you" she said with a smirk "I wish the first one we shared was under better circumstances but, it's a good reason if nothing else" she added.
"Can't argue with that" he added before he took the bottle and had a couple of gulps, that was all he could take before he pulled back a coughed violently. Something Diana chuckled at slightly "What….. what is this?" he asked as she took the bottle back.
"This" she said gesturing to the bottle "Is a real drink, unlike that weak stuff your dad had. Not surprising really, I'm from a warrior people and your dads are a bunch of scientists. Of course, we have something to put some hair on your chest" she spoke taking another drink herself, she wasn't drunk or even tipsy. Truth was she just wanted to spend some time alone with her son and this seemed like a good reason to have a drink as well.
"Grandmother give you any more trouble?" he asked.
"Not yet but she will soon, nothing is holding her back now. Or at least she thinks nothing is holding me back" she explained as she took a drink and passed it back to him.
"How long do you think it will be before Europe recovers?" he asked, knowing full well that this wasn't a conversation she wanted to, but he thought that it would be best to get it out of the way now and not have this entire topic off the table forever, besides she was a fighter if nothing else. She could handle talking about it.
"Years" she answered quickly enough "so many of the injured are still in danger, there wasn't a single country that wasn't affected and three cities are in complete ruin. I give it at least ten years before they manage to rebuild what was lost"
Having learned his lesson the first time, he only took one sip of the wine before he lowered the bottle and waited a moment "What in Hade's name was that thing?" he said aloud though, to be honest, it was more time for himself than her.
All she could do was shake her head "I have no idea, I got a report last night from the labs on the Watch Tower. They found traces of Kryptonian DNA in its blood" she admitted, earning a quick look from Kon.
"Kryptonian?" he asked aloud as he took another drink and passed it back to her.
"Yeah" she drank "along with so many others. The leading theory is that it was some Science experiment gone wrong" she admitted, knowing that she shouldn't be telling him this but he deserved the right to know as well.
"Or right" he counted, immediately bringing a worrying thought to both of them "What did you do with the body?" he asked.
She gave him a sharp look, clearly not happy with the question but he held her gaze, he knew he had a right to know what happened "We buried it" she said, looking back out the window.
"Didn't throw it into space?" he asked back confused.
"Think it through son" she added back, taking another drink "If it has Kryptonian blood…"
"Keep it away from starlight" he finished for her, nodding in understanding "Where did you bury it? Atlantis" he guessed, thinking of the deepest place he could imagine.
"Deeper" was all she said and given the tone of voice he knew that it was all he would be getting on the subject, he wanted more of course but today was not the day to start a fight.
"My eyes acted up again today" he admitted as he took the bottle and drank.
"How bad?" she turned to look at him with concern.
"Well, I got a clear view of Melissa Shield's naked body, then her skinless body then I nearly burnt through my hands" he said completely honestly.
Diana's eyes narrowed only slightly for a moment, admittedly when his eyes first started to act out, she was concerned about the implications but Kal took her aside and explained everything about how it worked and how uncontrollable it really was, how it would just flare up without warning and not even closing his eyes would protect everyone's privacy because he could just see through them as well "How are your hands?" she asked looking down to them.
He opened them and showed the slight redness that was still present "Mostly healed up by now" he explained as she reached out and held them tightly.
It was then that she must have noticed the paper on the ground next to him "What's that?" she asked looking down towards it.
"Hm?" he asked as he followed her line of sight and saw the paper "Oh, it's an email address for Principal Nezu" he said.
"From U.A?" she asked frowning in confusion.
"Yeah, I met him today and he said I should go there instead of the academy here" he explained with a tired voice.
"What do you think?" she asked him as she took another drink and passed the bottle back to him.
"I don't care" he shrugged "I don't care at all, if he didn't say anything I probably wouldn't have thought anything about a hero academy for god knows how long" he said taking another drink for himself.
"That's normal, you just lost your father. You're going to feel apathetic, most likely for another couple of weeks. I won't force you to go to school while you mourn. It is that time of year to start applying" she explained with a calm voice.
"Not for U.A" he added as he lifted the card "Nezu said that if I say yes, I can just show up on the day. No application, no initiation, I just show up on the first day with everyone else" he explained as he took another drink but found the bottle empty, he sighed before placing it down.
"Hm," she hummed back to him as she thought about it "He really shouldn't have done that. Chances are he's going to get a lot of flak for giving you special treatment" She looked back out the window and let out a small sigh "Though I suppose it could have been a lot worse. What do you think, though? U.A. is a long way from here" she pointed out.
He smiled slightly "It's not that far away" he clearly meant it didn't mean much when compared to how fast she could fly "but to be fair I think that's the point, it might be nice to get away from….. all of this for a while" he waved his arm towards the window and his dad's city.
"I get it" she said as she slumped down slightly and rested her head on his shoulder, taking some comfort in her son "I need some time off myself. Can't even look at the bedroom without crying"
He wasn't expecting her to say something so sad so casually and he couldn't help but sniff slightly as he turned his head and rested it on top of hers, their hands clasped together as the room was silent except for the sound of sniffing as a family tried their best to mourn the loss of one of their members.
They stayed like that, sitting on the floor against his bed until sleep claimed the two. Just before it did though, one thought wouldn't leave Kon's mind as he looked out over the Metropolis skyline
'How could I possibly live up to him'
Okay, we shall call it here. It's a brand-new story with some differences. I do enjoy My Hero Academia, and since the Anime is about to end, we can go through the whole thing.
A couple of announcements regarding what this story is going to be about. As many of you no doubt noticed this isn't about Superman but his son, I know he has a couple of different sons but this one is more of a mix between Kon and Johnathan so it is more of an OC. Oh and of course Wonder Woman is the mother because I wanted to add some more interesting plot points later down the line.
There's going to be loads of other DC elements in this story but I want you all to know this is going to mainly be focused on the My Hero part of the crossover. The basic gist of the story is how is the son going to live up to the father.
This is rated M because there will be violence, bad language and sexual scenes. I don't know who the main relationship is going to be, I might try the haram route, which I haven't done before so that could be interesting but at the end of the day, these are a bunch of teenagers in life or death situations on the regular so it makes sense that they would have a carefree attitude in some areas.
We'll see the influence of Superman and the rest of the Justice League throughout the story but since My Hero isin the future most of the more basic DC heroes will now be dead due to old age and the like. Again and I want to make this clear, we will NOT be seeing huge alien invasions led by Darkseid we will NOT be seeing the Warworld or anything like that.
Of course, since this is the son of Superman and Wonder Woman, he will be really powerful compared to the others in the show but I'm not making him OP right off the bat, as you can see with his eyes before, some powers have only just come in and he doesn't know how to use them yet so he needs training just like everyone else in his class.
Anyway, let me know what you all think and I'll see you in the next chapter.
