The day progressed as any other but something felt off. Something was going to happen but what, no one knew. Well maybe not everyone. Akashi Seijuro always seemed to know what was going on. Classes passed by in a blur, blending into one as teachers droned on about the homework and the upcoming tests they had planned. The last bell of the day rang shrilly and everyone rushed to the door eager to start their weekend as early as possible. It was a friday afternoon and most students were free to enjoy the warmth of the setting sun. There were, of course, the few exceptions. Namely, the Teiko High School basketball team. They usually had practice every Tuesday and Thursday however, due to a practice game with Seirin the following week, practice became mandatory on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, Monday morning and Tuesday morning. The game was to take place on wednesday and Teiko had to win.
That was the school motto of course, "100 battles, 100 victories" or "ever victorious". However, 5 particular students took this motto far more seriously than anyone else. It was unacceptable to lose, especially in something so trivial as basketball. They had only been given permission to play as long as they were the best and destroyed their competition. It was unfair to put so much pressure on children that were still in senior school however these children were far from ordinary.
Wearing the number 4 jersey was Captain Akashi Seijuro. He was 173 cm tall, with hair that resembled fire, much like the personality inside. He may have been the shortest player on the team however his aura and reputation had him looming over his peers by a mile. Very few were able to diminish their personal insecurities enough to engage Akashi in a conversation, even fewer were allowed to make eye contact as an equal.
The vice captain on the team was Midorima Shintarou. . His hair and eyes made him seem like a tree as he towered over most of the team being 195 cm tall and proudly wore the number 11. Midorima Shintarou was the leading point guard in the league and took great pride in his skills. When not playing basketball, his fingers were wrapped immaculately to preserve his fingers and hands given that gripping the ball was a major factor in his ability to score.
The most aggressive players on the team were often Kise Ryota and Aomine Daiki. Kise, with eyes and hair of gold, behaved as a puppy most of the time, following his lovers and team members around wherever they went. His skills in basketball blossomed quickly as he was able to copy most of the other teams special skills and make them his own. He was only a little shorter than his idol and now boyfriend Aomine Daiki, standing at 171cm while Aomine was 175cm tall. No matter how hard they trained, Kise could not replicate Aomine's skill. Aomine had hair as dark and deep as the ocean and eyes that could pierce through hearts in a second. The blue haired beast wore the jersey number 6 while the blonde puppy showed off the number 8.
The final member of the team was the purple haired giant Murasakibura who was the sole defender of the court no matter where he played. Standing at 208cm tall, he towered over everyone who attempted to score against him. Murasakibara wore the number 5 upon his jersey any time he was forced to play against another team. He found that Basketball was extremely boring especially when he could crush everyone that came into his range.
