RWBY Personality Swap

The screen took a moment, but then it quickly flickered to a very familiar sight to most of the viewers.

The airships were slowly flying to the illustrious Beacon Academy, most famous of Hunter Schools. Today was the first day of Beacon, and the initiates were flying in to get a chance to go through.

"Hey, the first day of Beacon! Man, this brings back memories!" Yang said cheerfully. She then looked over at Jaune.

"Ain't that right Vomit Boy? If I do remember correctly, that was the same day you-" She started, only to get cut off by Jaune. "Yes, I'm aware, thank you! No need to rub it in." he muttered.

Weiss could only flinch when she thought back to her first day at Beacon. She looked at Ruby, remembering their disastrous first meeting. Good thing they both made up, but it is still sort of a sore spot for Weiss.

Inside one of these airships were one Ruby Rose and Yang Branwen. Ruby was wearing a short sleeve tank top with pants, while Yang was wearing a long yellow dress, her hair cut short and put into a ponytail.

"Woah." Ruby said out loud, looking at her counterpart.

Yang had a similar look of astonishment. "Woah is right sis. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't wear anything like that in a million years, not unless I was at a dance or something." She said shocked.

She then realized what happened to her hair. Wait no! Not my glorious hair! What have you done to it!?

Yang looked over at Ruby, looking serious and sulking.

"I still can't honestly believe that you got here early. You know how hard I worked just to be given this shot in the regular 17 years? And you get here 2 years early. I think it's favoritism." She muttered, not quite angry but certainly not cheerful. Her voice had a weirdly elegant tint to it.

Ruby just rolled her eyes. "Favoritism or not, I still got here earlier than you, huh? How does it feel?" She said, in a nearly monotone voice with hardly any inflection.

The entire audience's eyebrows raised in surprise.

"Ok, wow, uh. Something is wrong with these versions of us." Yang said, staring at the screens with disbelief.

"It's like staring at the exact opposite of you two…" Weiss said, staring at the screen with surprise.

Jaune then immediately perked up at what Weiss said. "Wait… Opposite? How about swap?" He said, thinking back on a trope he saw in his comics.

Blake immediately became more alert. "Swap… P.S…. Personality Swap?" She muttered quietly to herself. She decided to watch and confirm it before saying the thought out loud.

Before Yang could retort back, some retching behind the two distracted the two sisters. They looked over to see another potential student wearing a black jacket with a sheathed sword and a bitter look upon him.

Pyrrha perked up. Jaune?

Nora looked super happy. "Fearless leader!" She said excitedly.

Jaune just looked at the screen with horror, knowing why his counterpart was retching.

Yang backed away, a nervous expression entering her face. Ruby looked at the boy with a blank look, before putting on a charming smile. She then walked over to the blond, with a fairly eager face.

"Hey bud, you alright there?" She asked the boy. The guy looked at her with a dark expression.

"Alright? Girl, do I look ok to you?" He said, in a hoarse and an extremely rude voice.

Ruby's eye ticked in concealed annoyance.

Pyrrha and Jaune looked at the screen with shock.

"What's his problem!?" Yang yelled angrily, not happy to see any version of her sister spoken to like that.

Nora's cheer faded somewhat at the extremely rude response given by alternate Jaune. Along with her, one of Ren's eyebrows raised up in surprise.

"Well, can't say I was expecting that." Ren said slowly.

Jaune was staring at his counterpart with pure horror.

Pyrrha only had one thought run through her mind. Dear gods, am I happy I didn't end up with that version of Jaune.

Yang quickly shook her anger away, no use getting mad about things you couldn't change. Then another part of the scene crossed her mind, and she gave a huge grin.

She glanced over at Ruby. "Hey look, Ruby, this version of you has social skills!" She said loudly and cheerfully.

"Yaaaaaaaaaaang!" Ruby groaned out.

"It does seem like this one has more social skill than you do." Weiss added unhelpfully.

"Definitely." Blake tacked on. Unhelpfully.

"Stoooop!" Ruby whined.

"Think you need some motion sickness pills?" Ruby suggested with a cheerful tone.

"No, screw off kid." Jaune said, while simultaneously turning away from Ruby. Ruby's eye once again twitched, and her cheerful facade crumbled.

"Alright then you piece of shit. Can't wait to watch as you fail the initiation." Ruby said vindictively. "Someone who looks as pathetic and weak as you do right now has no chance of getting through. And if by some fluke you do, I will be happy to watch you fail out of Beacon. It's the only destination for weak bastards like you, after all." She finished, turning away with a pissed off expression. Jaune just watched her walk away with a stunned expression.

"WHOA! RUBY!" Yang yelled in shock. Ruby put her hands up defensively.

"It's not me! It's not me! It's a different me!" She said quickly. "I would never say anything like that!" She pleaded. Even if it wasn't her, she still felt awful something like that would ever come out of her mouth.

Meanwhile the whole team of JNPR looked at the screen with various levels of shock at what just happened.

Nora was both shocked and angry. "Hey! No one talks to fearless leader like that!" She shouted angrily at the screen. Ren put a calming hand on Nora's shoulder, although he was also worried about his Jaune, who had some confidence issues.

Jaune was the least shocked, but he still looked disheartened at how a version of Ruby spoke to him. The worst part was that he held those same doubts in his world, and his worst fears being bashed by someone like Ruby really drove those fears home.

Pyrrha was utterly stunned at the display, but she spent most of her energy trying to comfort Jaune.

A few moments later, the airships landed safely at Beacon Academy, letting all the potential students off to check out the school.

Ruby didn't bother to put on a cheerful face, and just stared at most of the students with undisguised disinterest. Yang looked at the other students with enthusiasm, especially their weapons.

"A collapsible staff? Lame. Is that a fire sword? What a joke. Someone's overcompensating." Ruby muttered to herself, looking around at the other students.

Ruby gasped in shock. "How dare you! Weapons are an extension of ourselves! I will not see a version of me bashing any weapons!" She yelled indignantly.

Weiss, Blake, and Yang shared glances with each other, both surprised about a version of Ruby that didn't like weapons, and amused with their leader's outburst.

"Hmph. Don't be so harsh. Weapons are an extension of huntsmen, just like my weapon." Yang sniffed to her sister, before turning back to the other potential students.

Ruby just scoffed. "No thanks. I'll stick with my fists." She muttered.

"Huh. Man, this world is trippy." Yang muttered. It was like looking into the world's weirdest funhouse mirror.

Blake felt sure that she knew what was going on now, but still needed to see a few more people to confirm.

Yang seemed to walk away, while Ruby just stood there watching with disdain. Suddenly, a cart rammed into her, and she fell backward in surprise. She hit the cases and started angrily sputtering curses.

"Oh gods, are you ok!?" Someone said to her.

Ruby quickly looked up and saw a girl who had white hair cascading down her back, wearing pants and a white jacket, looking at her with worried and apologetic eyes.

"Are you ok? Gosh I'm so, so, so, so so so, sorry! That was an accident I swear!" Weiss said, tears nearly filling her eyes.

Weiss stared at the on screen version of her with her mouth agape. Ruby was looking at the counterpart Weiss with stars in her eyes, Blake was looking at her with an amused smirk, and Yang…

Yang was bawling with laughter.

"Gods this is PRICELESS!" she yelled while laughing.

Weiss just wanted to bury her head in sand somewhere to ignore this mockery.

Ruby scowled. "I'm fine. You really need to watch where you're going, princess." She muttered to Weiss. Weiss's eyebrows raised.

"Princess?" She asked in obvious confusion. Ruby just rolled her eyes. "You're Weiss Schnee aren't you? That makes you a princess." she said with a condescending smirk.

"Actually, she's not even heiress, so I think she's a few steps behind 'princess'." An excitable voice commented from behind the two. The two turned over to observe the girl who just butt in.

The girl wore a baggy jacket with dress pants. She had black hair done up in a ponytail, and had a huge smile on her face. She also seemed to be carrying a scroll with a movie paused mid scene. The most defining feature would be her cat ears, that weren't just visible but had a single one pierced with a gold loop that had an unreadable word engraved onto it.

Blake looked truly surprised by her counterpart, but she finally got her answer.

"Guys, I figured it out. It's a universe where our personalities are swapped." She said to the rest of the group.

The rest of the group looked at her inquisitively, besides Jaune who seemed to be nodding along with her.

"What do you mean by that Blakey?" Nora asked with a tilted head.

"It means that us in that universe have the opposite personalities we usually would. Just look at the evidence. Yang is closed off and dull, Ruby is a jerk, Weiss is cheerful and… A bit of a crybaby honestly-"

"Hey!"

"-And I'm happy and outgoing. Also, Jaune is a pretty big jerk too I suppose. It's a common theme in some books I've read." Blake stated to the rest of the group.

She turned over and saw almost every member of the group had raised eyebrows.

"Well, uh, that would certainly explain it I guess." Yang muttered.

Ruby turned to the strange cat girl in surprise. "What do you mean?" She asked with interest lining her voice.

Weiss groaned, before putting her head in her hands with shame. "I was originally to be the heiress of the SDC, but due to my personality and interests, Father decided that I probably couldn't be trusted with the responsibility." She complained despondently.

Blake just nodded her head really quickly. "Yeah! Apparently she nearly cried on stage once! No way someone that bad in front of a crowd could lead such a big company!" She said cheerfully.

Weiss's face was frozen in embarrassed shock at what Blake just revealed.

The Weiss in the audience had the exact same expression.

Yang could barely stop laughing.

Ruby snorted. "Wait, seriously?" She asked with a malicious grin.

"That was one time! No one could prove it anyway!" Weiss sputtered indignantly.

"Please Brothers, kill me now." Weiss muttered to herself.

Ruby's grin then grew into full out laughter, definitely at Weiss's expense. Blake joined in the laughter, thinking that Weiss also found the whole situation humorous.

Weiss was not humored.

Despite that, she was too much of a coward to do much more than pout.

"Well, this has been fun, but I think I'm going to go inside now. Can't wait to see you two at initiation!" She said, waving mock cheerfully.

There was a short pause, before Blake turned over to Weiss. "She seems nice." She said with a completely genuine smile.

Weiss may not be the smartest person alive, but she had a feeling this cat girl may have a few brain cells missing from her head.

The screen then cut to black, presumably ending the video.

"Thank the Brothers that's over." Weiss said, trying not to let her embarrassment show.

Yang smirked at Weiss. Ruby was gushing about the video and what Blake and Weiss were like, (conspicuously not mentioning what the alternate Ruby was like) and team JNPR, (besides Jaune) were just discussing what their swap versions would be like.
