Tyson looked around the room. Max and Rei were leaning against the wall, both death-gripping their beyblades, as they talked quietly to each other. Kai was sitting cross-legged on the floor with his eyes closed as if he was asleep, but Tyson knew better. Kai was deep in thought, and Tyson was anxious to know what he was thinking. Tyson was so transfixed on the blader that everything else in the room seemed to fade.

Tyson sighed to himself as he retreated into his own mind. How did this ever happen to me? I didn't think that I would fall for Kai. But here I am, sitting across the room from him and staring at him. He has come so far in the time that I have known him. He doesn't really open up to anyone but has opened up to me. Of course I would never tell the others the things that Kai has told me because it is not my place to tell but… oh god… the things he told made me want to wrap my arms around him and never let him go.

"Tyson Dragoon is going to need some major repairs," Tyson half-heard this as he continued to stare at the handsome phoenix across from him, "Uhmm… Tyson?… TYSON!!"

Tyson really jumped out of his skin as he glanced over at Kenny, who as usual, was sitting with his laptop analyzing his beyblade. "Sorry Kenny I was thinking… what did you say?"

Kenny sighed and shook his head slightly before replying. "I was saying that Dragoon took some major damage against Brooklyn in that battle. The bit that Dragoon lives in almost cracked, and I don't know if I will be able to repair it for some time…"

"WHAT!" Tyson jumped up and ran over to Kenny and snatched Dragoon from him. "I didn't think I pushed him that far… what have I done… Dragoon, my dearest friend…" Tyson couldn't seem to think anymore. He felt numb as if someone had knocked the wind out of him. He didn't even notice that he had gotten up and left the room.

"Tyson wait…" Kenny was about to stand up, but Kai interrupted.

"No, Kenny. I'll go after him. The rest of you should get ready for bed." Before anyone could protest, Kai left the room and followed after Tyson.

Dragoon? Can you hear me? Please, my friend, answer me? I need to know that you are alright? Please… Dragoon… Tyson didn't even notice that a tear had leaked out of the corner of his eye and was making a salty path down his cheek.

Master Tyson, are you crying? Tyson stared at his beyblade in shock as a smile spread across his face. Tyson closed his eyes and when he opened them again, there before him was his awesome dragon Dragoon.

Dragoon! Are you okay?! You aren't hurt, are you?

Master, not so many questions at once. I can only answer one at a time. I am fine. But I will need time to rest; however, I fear that there isn't any.

What do you mean? Of course there is time! We have all the time in the world. I will make sure that you are well taken care of, and Chief will fix you up right away. Then we will train so that this doesn't happen again.

Master, I don't have much time left. Please listen and forgive me for not telling you this sooner. I feared this day would come, but I hoped you would be older and your heart wouldn't be so attached to Kai.

Tyson felt his face flush as he stared, in complete shock, at his Sacred Spirit. I don't know what you're talking about, Dragoon. I just look up to him. And I think he's a great blader. And he… umm.. and…

Dragoon grinned at his master. "I know you better than anyone,Master. You and Kai are the perfect match for each other, and I know that you will make him feel again. Well, one day… Master, there's something about your family that you need to know, and it will happen very soon."

Dragoon I don't understand? What is going to happen soon? What secret about my family are you talking about?

Dragoon made to reply but smiled instead as he whispered,"You will find out very soon Master, but someone is looking for you, and I think you need to talk to them first. Do not worry about me; we will be seeing each other a lot soon. I ask for your forgiveness now, Master, for not telling you about what's going to happen."

"Dragoon?" Tyson closed his eyes as Dragoon flashed a brilliant blue and disappeared. When Tyson opened his eyes again, he was looking at the koi pond in his backyard. It took Tyson a few seconds for his eyes to adjust when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Tyson yelled out and nearly jumped out of his skin as he turned around and looked into the wine-colored eyes of his captain.

"For God's sake Kai you scared the shit out of me!! You should really announce yourself or something. My heart is racing a mile a minute here!" Tyson placed his hand over his chest as he willed himself to calm down.

"Tyson… Is Dragoon alright?" Kai broke his eye contact with Tyson as he looked at the blade that was held in Tyson's hand.

Tyson looked down as he slowly opened his hand. "Yeah Dragoon said that he is going to be just fine but he said that he had something to tell me but he never got around to it." Tyson turned away from Kai and looked at the star splashed velvet sky.

Kai walked up beside Tyson and looked up at the heavens as well. "What do you mean? Why didn't he tell you?"

Tyson sighed and shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. But he asked me to forgive him for it and then he vanished. I just don't get it anymore Kai. Everything is so messed up. Beyblading is meant to be fun but everyone seems to be coming after us and our Sacred Spirits." Tyson slumped to the ground and punched the earth, "I just wish everything could go back to when beyblading was fun and I didn't have a worry in the world."

Tyson felt Kai kneel down beside him. Tyson looked over and saw the hurt and pain in his captain's eyes. "Oh shit Kai! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to! I'm such an idiot sometimes!" And before Tyson knew what he was doing he wrapped his arms around Kai and pulled him close to him. Kai let out a muffled 'phm' as he was pulled against Tyson.

"Kai I didn't mean to make you think of that place. I just meant that I wish we could all back to when we all came to together as a team and beyblading was what we did to have fun," Tyson started to rub small circles on Kai's back.

"Tyson… sorry I…"

"Shhh. Kai I'm the one who is sorry. I should have known better then to bring up something like that. I just don't get anything anymore. First everyone after our bit-beasts, the island, Zeo being an android and the final straw for me was Boris coming and Bega. And now Dragoon telling me that he has something to tell me about my family and something about not having enough time."

Tyson felt Kai moving and he, though he didn't want to, let Kai pull away. "No matter what Dragoon says to you, Tyson, we are all here for you." Kai bowed his head as he whispered, "I will always be here for you."

Tyson just sat there, stunned. Did I just hear that right? I know that Kai was finally opening up to me, but now he's saying that? Oh, God, Kai! Please don't play with my heart. You're saying what I wish to hear. Tyson was pulled out of his thoughts when Kai gently placed his hand on Tyson's face.

"Kai." Tyson leaned into Kai's hand, feeling the warmth radiating from him. He was drawn to it and liked it so much.

"Tyson, I know that I have been a pain in the butt about my feelings, but it's different around you. I feel like I can be myself around you. Well, what I think is the real me. I can't seem to be this way around anyone else. Tyson, I don't know what I would do without you."

"Oh Kai," Tyson pulled Kai to him again and hugged him tightly. "I will always be with you. I need you more than even I know." Tyson felt Kai shudder against him and pulled Kai away so that he was facing him. A single tear ran down Kai's cheek. "Don't cry, my phoenix. You have come so far, and I am so happy that I was the one you opened up to."

Tyson wiped away the tear with the pad of his thumb. Tyson looked into Kai's crimson eyes and was instantly lost in their depths. "Tyson…" Kai leaned forward, closing the distance between them. Tyson never blinked and never looked away. He could see all his emotions splashed across their depths.

Tyson felt Kai's breath brush against his lips, and his breath caught in his chest. He was finally getting what he wanted. When Kai's lips touched his own, he was instantly wrapped in a warmth that felt like his beloved phoenix. Kai tasted like pure fire and passion. He had never tasted or felt anything like it in his life. Tyson wanted more, and he was going to get it.

He pulled Kai close and when Kai yelped at the movement, Tyson took advantage and dived his tongue into Kai's mouth, thoroughly tasting his captain. They were both lost in a sea of passion. Tyson rubbed his tongue against Kai's, trying to get it to come and play. It was as if a gate had been opened.

Kai couldn't believe that Tyson was responding to his advances. And when Tyson thrust his tongue into his mouth all thoughts left him and all he could do was feel. And when Tyson rubbed against his tongue he couldn't take it anymore. He needed Tyson and he wanted him. Kai moaned and pulled Tyson on his lap as they pulled away from each other for much needed air. Kai was breathing heavily as he looked into Tyson's eyes. The look in his eyes made Kai groan. His stormy blue eyes were full of lust, need, and what made him light headed was the look of love in their depths.

"Kai… I… Need… I…" Kai didn't need any more words as he wrapped his arms around Tyson and pulled him even closer. Kai closed his eyes as Tyson squirmed on his lap, and the friction was wreaking havoc on his groin.

"Tyson, stop squirming…" Kai grabbed onto his hips and stopped his movements. Tyson whined a little as he ran his hands through Kai's dual-shaded slate hair. Kai looked up at Tyson as he threw his head back in need and Kai couldn't help but lick his lips at Tyson's exposed neck.

Kai slipped one hand into Tyson's hair as he attacked his neck with hot, wet kisses. Tyson moaned and rocked against Kai's pelvis. Kai was drowning in the taste of Tyson. He couldn't quite place the taste, but it was as if he were tasting a thunderstorm. Every time Kai's mouth came in contact with Tyson's skin, it was as if a power were flowing through him… and he liked it no… he loved it!

Blood rushed to his groin as Tyson picked up the pace. Kai pulled Tyson's skin into his mouth and sucked, nipped, and licked it hard. Tyson cried out in pleasure and Kai pulled away, looking at the mark that was already beginning to show.

"Kai… my God!… please…" Tyson's eyes were now a shimmering silver, and Kai was transfixed. He could feel something coming from Tyson, as if he were calling him. It was pulling at his very soul. He wanted… no, he needed to please Tyson.

"Tyson…" Kai reached up to kiss him lightly.

"T-man!! Where are you!!"

Tyson jumped at the sound and fell back off of Kai's lap, landing hard on his butt. What does that bastard want now! What could Gramps possibly want from my Tyson! Kai was pulled out of his thoughts by Tyson's whimper. "Are you okay, Tyson?"

"I think I broke my butt! What does Gramps want anyway?! I want you! Not Gramps!" Kai smiled as he brushed a hair from Tyson's face.

"Tyson!"

"GRRR!!! He is going to wake everyone up if he keeps yelling!" Tyson stood up and brushed off his butt as he yelled, "Gramps I'm over here."

Kai stood up and put his hand on Tyson's back. "I'm going to bed. We can finish this later." Kai leaned in and nipped Tyson's neck, making him shiver.

"I will be there as soon as possible." Kai smacked Tyson's bottom as he walked away from them towards their room, grinning as Tyson winced.

Kai half-heard Tyson walking off toward Gramps. Kai turned and looked at his dragon as Tyson approached his grandfather. Kai smiled when Gramps pointed to his neck and Tyson tried to think of what to tell him.

Kai stood half in the doorway, watching Tyson. He didn't realize how long he had been standing there, but somehow he could sense distress coming from Tyson. When Tyson yelled, Kai jumped.

Kai felt a growl deep within him when gramps grabbed Tyson roughly by the elbow and started to pull him away.

Kai started to move closer towards them, but kept to the shadows, reminding himself that gramps wouldn't do anything to hurt Tyson.

Kai was getting closer and closer, and Tyson was putting up a good fight.

"Gramps, let me go! I don't want to go anywhere! Please!" Kai stopped in the shadows a few feet away from Gramps and Tyson.

Kai heard Gramps sigh heavily as he turned and faced his grandson. "I told you, Tyson, that you don't have a choice in the matter. It's time, and you must leave. I won't repeat myself! Now come on!"

Tyson reached out and grabbed onto the window sill, refusing to move. "No! Grandpa, you have to listen to me!" Kai grabbed onto his scarf as the wind suddenly picked up. The last thing he needed was to be seen.

"I'm not going anywhere until you tell me why I have to leave in the first! And second, I'm not leaving Kai!" Gramps glared at Tyson, but Kai could see in his eyes that the old man was caving fast.

"Tyson, please calm yourself or you'll destroy the dojo. I can't explain to you why you must leave, but someone might be listening. Now, we all have to do this: your mother did it, your brother did it, and now it's your turn."

"My turn for what?!" Lightning streaked against the sky, and Kai sunk farther into the shadows as the light flashed across the yard. What the hell is going on? The weather was beautiful a few minutes ago… Could this be Tyson's doing? No… could it?

"Kinomiya Takao! I will not tell you again!" The sky ripped open, and it started to pour; lightning crashed and lit the sky on fire. What's happening, Takao?

Gramps reached forward and grabbed onto Tyson's shoulders, turning him to face him. "Takao," Kai watched as Tyson glared at his grandfather. "You are a Kinomiya, and as such, you must go. You will go if I have to tie you up and drag you there myself! Dragoon wanted to tell you, but he couldn't, and there is no more time!"

"Gramps please I need to see Kai before I go! I can't just up and leave and not tell him that I will be back soon… well from what you have told I hope soon… I just can't leave him Gramps… I can't…"

"Tyson, I know Kai means a lot to you, but you have to let him go. It's your destiny…"

"KAI is my DESTINY!"

Kai felt his face heat up. Tyson refused to leave to go and do something because of him. He defied his grandfather to do it.

"Tyson, you have to go, and I'm afraid you have to now. I will tell them you've gone, and that will be that. He will get over it."

"I won't though! Grandpa Kai is everything to me. He is the fire in my soul and the passion that I feel every time that I wake up. He is what I look forward to each and every day! Please just let me tell Kai that I am leaving. If it comes from me then maybe he will understand…"

Kai felt as if his head were going to explode. Here Tyson was yelling at the top of his lungs that he, Kai, meant everything to him. Kai felt light-headed. Finally, I have what I wanted, and by the sound of things, I am about to lose it! I would not let that happen. They don't know I am there, and if I jumped out and yelled that I wanted Tyson to stay too, they might have to listen. Kai was about to jump out when Gramps started speaking again.

"If you tell Kai, Dragoon will have to act."

"I don't understand. What do you mean Dragoon has to act?"

"No one and I mean no one that is not family are to know about this. If anyone but a Kinomiya finds out about this then Dragoon will have to erase you, Tyson, from his or her memory. This is your destiny as a member of this family."

Kai watched as Tyson fell to his knees and punched the floor. Kai felt like this heart was being ripped from his chest. No! NO! This can't be happening! "Gramps… I… why… I need Kai… and I can't tell him… he is going to hate me…" Kai could hear Tyson as he started to cry. The wind calmed and the lightning stopped but the rain seemed to come down even harder.

Gramps knelt down and placed a hand on Tyson's shoulder. "Tyson this is how it has to be. I will get your bag ready and you will leave immediately. I don't know when I will see you again Tyson but I know you will be in good hands."

"Gramps… please can I go and at least look at Kai. He is probably asleep now I need to tell him something even if he can't hear me."

Kai was about to run back to the room when gramps voice once again cut through the air. "Tyson I'm sorry but no. You need to leave and you need to leave now. Kai will understand."

"No, Grandpa. You don't understand. I love Kai. I love him with everything I am. I feel complete around him. I love him so much that just the thought of leaving him is tearing me apart."

Kai clenched his heart. It felt like it was going to burst through his chest. Tyson loved him. Loved him with everything he had. Kai had to hold himself back when he heard this. He wanted nothing more than to run over to Tyson and pull him into a back-breaking hug and kiss him all over.

Gramps pulled Tyson into a hug and held his shaking and sobbing grandson. "I'm sorry, Tyson." Gramps pulled Tyson up and led him away. Kai stood in the shadows, trying to calm his breathing. Kai didn't remember turning around and walking back to their room. He didn't even remember stripping down and climbing into his bed. All he knew was that when he awoke in the morning, Tyson wouldn't be there and Gramps would try and explain why he left. Kai reached up and brushed something wet from his cheek and realized that he was crying. "I love you too, Tyson… more than you will ever know…" With that, Kai cried himself to sleep and awaited the cursed morning that would be without his Tyson in it.
