In Suna, the Sand siblings sat shocked at the news they just received. Naruto Hatake was arrested for treason. While Gaara and Kankuro didn't know the guy, he still helped them out and seemed like a good person. Temari on the other hand was confused. What happened? Was everything he was telling her a lie? What happened to wanting to change the world? So many things plagued her mind so she just excused herself from the office and left.
Hiashi sat in a meeting alongside the shinobi side of the Hyuga clan. "It has come to my attention that Naruto has finally showed his true colors. His actions are one of, if not the most frowned upon thing one shinobi of Konoha can do. Treason, he attacked his Anbu captain and attempted to kill him and even if he's exiled from our clan, he still has the bloodline. Hokage Sama requested that I place the caged bird seal on him for everyone's safety."
Hinata and Neji sat off to the side. Hiashi requested they accompany him to the meeting because they knew Naruto the best. "What do you think will happen to him?" she asked her cousin. "It's difficult to tell because he is technically a Konoha shinobi before he is a clan member. Treason along with the things he did during the invasion basically seals his fate" he said. Hinata bit her lip in worry. Naruto was an ass but he was still her cousin.
"Hinata and Neji come forward and tell us everything you know about Naruto" Hiashi said.
Tsunade sat in her office and looked more stressed than usual. One of her strongest shinobi was currently imprisoned and he was likely going to be killed. There was little to nothing she could do. The kid just seemingly snapped. "How long are you going to sit out there?" she asked out of the blue.
"As long as it took for you to acknowledge me" a voice said. Jiraiya then jumped through the window and pulled up a chair and sat in front of his long time friend. "What do you think Sakumo would say?" she asked quietly. "If I'm being completely honest, I don't think he would be that pleased either. He had morals and above anything else, he loved his comrades. And for Naruto to attack his own teammate, there's just no way i can see him not being upset."
"But you really can't blame him. He lost both of his parents at a young age and his brother allowed him to grow up around killing machines. And then the only thing he knew and strived to achieve was taken away from him by his own brother. Not to mention that the higher ups also hate him. I can't say this is surprising."
"But didn't you and Orochimaru train him? That means you knew him before all of this crap happened." "Yeah but he was the same cocky asshole all those years ago. But he had a crap ton of potential, even more than his brother so he felt as if he was untouchable."
"The Hyuga wants to place that seal on him. I gave them permission. It was the least I could do since that's better than him being killed." Jiraiya just sighed. "I guess that's fine. But I'd be worried about Kakashi too. Naruto is really all he has left. So if Naruto goes down, you'll have to worry about him too."
Speaking of Kakashi, he was standing at the memorial stone. He said nothing the entire time he was there. More or less just wallowing in his sorrows. Just as he was about to leave, he looked to his right and contemplated his next move. He just sighed and walked in that direction. As he made it to the private burial grounds, he looked at the headstone. It was the first time he had been here since his Mikasa was buried.
Judging by how well kept everything is, he knew Naruto was here often. He glanced at the picture of the woman and he saw Naruto. The boy looked just like her. It just sucked because he couldn't do anything to save him this time, as much as he wanted to. Just like he couldn't save her. He brushed his hand across her name and then looked at his father for a quick moment and then walked away.
The trail was set to take place tomorrow and Naruto was sleeping in his cell. There were guards littered around the prison to make sure he couldn't escape. In his seal, the fox was conflicted. On one hand, he could let the young man suffer and potentially become a mindless killing machine but then that would mean he's also being controlled and his chakra would be used against his will. He had some decisions to make. He then narrowed his eyes when he sensed a new presence.
A swirling vortex appeared inside the cell and out walked a masked man. How he got in there undetected was a mystery in itself. He watched the silver haired man lay motionless. Shackled by chains and suppression seals. A pity really, considering he was one of if not the most important person in the village.
"Who are you?" Naruto asked with his eyes still closed. "Ah, being able to sense me while your chakra is concealed is nothing short of remarkable" he replied. Naruto snorted. "I don't need chakra to sense others" he said. "It seems you're as arrogant as they say" the man replied. "Cut the crap. If you can sneak past the guards in here, then you're no ordinary shinobi. So I ask again, who are you?"
"Hm, well there's no reason to lie to you. My name is Madara Uchiha." Naruto finally sat up and took a look at the man. "I thought Hashirama killed you, how are you still alive?"
The masked man chuckled. If I told you, you wouldn't believe me. But that's neither here nor there. You're in quite the predicament and oh what's this?"
"What's what?" Naruto asked. A sharingan morphed in the eye hole of the man. "Hold still" was all the man said. Naruto felt a wave of chakra enter his body and a second later, it went away. "What the hell did you do?"
"It appears that there was a genjutsu placed upon you. I dispelled it. As far as I'm concerned, aside from me only Shisui Uchiha could perform an allusion as powerful as that."
"It wasn't Shisui, he's dead. It was that bastard Danzo. He killed Shisui and took his eye" Naruto said angrily. What he didn't know is that the masked man knew all of this information already, he just feigned ignorance. "So the little Shimura let Tobirama's ideals taint his soul" he said. "You freed me from a genjutsu after sneaking into the village. There's something you want" Naruto said.
"Yes there is. My group is collecting the tailed beasts and you have one of them. I know you know the implications of a biju being removed from the host which is why I'm going to give you a chance. A chance to allow you to gain strength. As it stands right now, I'd destroy you." Naruto chuckled, "I appreciate the kind gesture but I must inform you that you're making a big mistake. But I accept your offer."
"Ah you think it's just that easy? Once you escape this person, what will you do next? You can't simply live amongst the citizens of Konoha as if nothing happened." "I'll worry about that when I'm out of here" he replied.
That night, the streets of Konoha were dark and empty. Majority of the residents were sleeping, patrolling or out on missions. At the Hyuga compound, a side branch member stood in front of the entrance gates. His byakugan was not active but he was well aware of his surroundings which was why he was not startled by a singular black and white feather falling next to him. He didn't think much of it.
He then jumped when he heard a bird like scream and looked in the night sky and saw an eagle. "Stupid bird" he muttered. He then turned around when he thought he heard the sound of the gate opening. But it was still closed. He narrowed his eyes and activated his byakugan and observed his 360 degree radius. And he saw nothing. Maybe he was just tired. He sighed and deactivated his eyes and turned around, only to gasp.
Slice
The sound of gurgling could be heard as the man dropped to his knees clutching his bleeding throat. A swift strike to the heart followed and he stopped breathing instantly. The sound of footsteps followed and the elemental nations as a whole would be changed forever.
Kakashi was strolling through the village. Seemingly minding his business, when he bumped into someone. He looked up to apologize when he paused. White eyes, long black hair. No way, wasn't she? "Mikasa?" he asked. She looked at him and smiled. "You broke your promise Kakashi" she said. He froze. "No, i tried to save him" he pleaded. She started to walk away and he retired to grab her but his hand fazed through her body.
"Mikasa!" he called out to her but she just kept waking. He noticed her white dress started to be stained with some red liquid. He smelled the iron. Blood? He thought. The blood started to drip and leave a trail. She then took off running. "Mikasa!" He took off after her. He was either losing his skill or she got faster because she was never this fast. He followed the blood trail which led him to the Hyuga compound.
He paused. He hadn't been here since she died. He put his hands together and flared his chakra. "Release" he said but nothing happened. His years of experience paid off when he dodged a sword flying in his direction. Even as fast as it was going, he saw those unique features that that blade had. Only 2 people used it and one was dead.
He hesitantly went in the direction that the blood trail was leading to and found himself at the clan heads house. He made it to the door which somehow opened. It was pitch black inside and just as he was about to walk in, he tripped. Turning around, he looked down and saw something, well rather someone. His eyes widened. "Obito!"
He bent down to turn the body over but was shocked to see the body disperse into black and white feathers. He was hallucinating. He had to get out of the house. He jumped up and ran outside only to stop once again. He knew exactly who this was and he was carrying the same blade that flew past his head. But it was coated in blood. "How did you get out?" Chuckling was the only verbal response.
Kakashi had enough of this. He walked up to his brother and turned him around and looked him dead in the eyes and saw tears? But before he could even speak, 'slash'
Kakashi sat up panting and sweating in his tent. He had just finished doing a simple escort mission and wanted to get some rest before heading back. He told himself that it wasn't to stall time for the trail. A nightmare, really? He hadn't had one of those since Minato Sensei died. But this one was different. It felt too real. He didn't know what it was but he just felt like he needed to finally talk to Naruto before he was punished. So he packed up and headed back.
Tsunade was doing paperwork or at least it looked like that what she was doing. She was reading a note that Dan wrote her all those years ago. She got up and walked outside on the balcony and took in the peaceful night. She looked up and saw a bird flying in a circle not too far away from the Hyuga compound . Maybe some animal was dying and it was waiting to eat it. She took a sip of sake and sighed. The sound of glass breaking startled her and she turned around to see the Fourth's picture on the ground. 'Damnit' she muttered.
She finished sweeping the glass up and went to sit down but started to get a bad feeling. She didn't know why or where this feeling came from but she didn't like it.
Hiashi was sleeping peacefully in his bed when he shot up and blocked a sword strike with a kunai he had hidden under his pillow. He narrowed his eyes at the intruder and his blood started to boil. "You!" he yelled in anger. A swift kick to the jaw was followed sending the older man to the floor. Walking into the light was Naruto in his signature white haori. Hiashi got up holding his face. "You should be locked up in chains! How the hell did you even get past my guards?"
Naruto just smiled. "Ah, they weren't much of a challenge. For those to be your elite guards, I'm quite disappointed in my family." "You're of no kin to my clan you disgrace." Naruto clutched his heart in mock hurt. "You wound me Hiashi but you're one to call me a disgrace with all of the dirt you've done. Especially to me." "It does not matter. Laws are laws and your mother broke them with that disappointment you call a father."
His throat was gripped violently and he was slammed into the wall. "You're just making this worse for yourself Hiashi. Nobody is coming to save you so don't try to call out for help." He tried to strike Naruto in the heart but his hand was sliced off the bone. He screamed in agony as blood spilled everywhere including on Naruto.
He punched the man in the stomach and threw him into the book shelf. The man tried to get up but his back was slashed viciously and he cried out in pain. "You killed my father out of jealousy. And then you killed my mother out of spite." Naruto said as he kicked the man in the stomach making him turn over. He knelt down and grabbed the man by his hair, pulling it tightly.
"Then you tried to keep my cousins away from me while killing my uncle, your own brother in the process. And then trying to force your own daughter to marry me so you could use me for my power" Naruto said chuckling. "If I'm a monster, what does that make you?" he asked. Hiashi opened his mouth to speak but was punched for his troubles. "It was a rhetorical question." Naruto picked up his blade and it began to crackle with purple lightning.
"Be glad I'm showing remorse. Ah who am I kidding, I just ran out of time" Naruto said as he picked the man up in the air and plunged the sword through his heart, instantly killing him. The body went limp and Naruto yanked the blade out of the man letting the him fall to the floor. A pool of blood started to form around the corpse and Naruto didn't even pay it any mind. He made his way out of the house and saw Neji, Hinata and Hanabi on the ground with Tengu standing next to them.
"Leave them here. Everyone else is already dead. I have one more stop" he said. He jumped on the giant summons back and they took off.
He made it to the Hokage office and saw it empty. He jumped through the window and hurriedly opened the door to the village secret files and pulled out a scroll. The scroll of sealing to be exact. He went through hand seals and sealed it in his arm but quickly blocked a sword strike. He frowned, he didn't expect to see her. "What happened to you?" asked Yugao. He said nothing as he evaded and blocked her strikes. "How did you escape and what are you going to do with that scroll? Answer me!"
He was wasting time. He needed to end this before it was too late. He dodged another strike and struck her arm rendering it useless. She dropped her katana in the process. He then struck both of her legs making her fall to the ground. "You bastard! How could you betray the village? We trusted you" she said. "How could you all betray me? I trusted you" he whispered back as he chopped her in the back of the neck. She went unconscious as he jumped out of the window. He immediately sensed Kakashi entering the village and that was his cue to leave.
He jumped off of the balcony, onto Tengu and flew away.
Kakashi for some reason felt like he needed to go to the Hyuga residence and when he got to the gate, he didn't see the usual gate guards. The gate was also opened which was not normal. As soon as he walked through, he smelt blood. He looked to the side and saw a body. Through the forehead protector covering his eye, his sharingan didn't detect any chakra from it. He turned the body over and saw a deep cut on the man's neck and a lot of blood.
He was also covered in feathers. That feeling started to return and he went deeper into the compound and there were bodies and feathers everywhere. He wasn't dumb. There was only one person who could be responsible for this. He sensed his chakra in the feathers but he didn't want to accept it. He flared a large amount of chakra to alert the anbu and the Hokage. "Naruto what have you done?"
The following morning was dark. The Hokage announced that Naruto Hatake escaped prison and massacred the entire Hyuga clan, aside from Hinata, Neji and Hanabi. He also broke into the Hokage office and took the scroll of sealing. He was instantly labeled an s class missing nin inside the bingo book. He was to be brought back to Konoha dead or alive.
The council was in an uproar. "Lady Hokage, he is too dangerous to be left alive. He has the kyubi sealed inside of him. He also has villiage secrets and forbidden jutsu within that scroll!" said an angry council member.
"He was also a personal guard for you and Lord third which means he knows the village inside and out. We will need to improve our security" said Shikaku. During this whole process, Danzo stayed silent. He was panicking. 'How did he break out of the kotoamatsukami? The kyubi couldn't have helped because his chakra was suppressed.' He needed to add fuel to the fire though. Naruto had to be village enemy number one so Orochimaru could lose some heat. He cleared his throat.
"When I questioned Naruto on why he did what he did, I was given some unfortunate news" he did. All of the attention turned to him. "I instructed you not to have any contact with him until after the trail was concluded but I'll let this one slide. What did he tell you?" asked Tsunade. "He revealed to me that he was responsible for the disappearance of Shisui Uchiha."
"He did what!?" yelled an enraged Fugaku. "Yes and to confirm whether what he was saying was true or not, I had my disciple read through his memories and we confirmed it" he said. He then pulled out a glass jar that had a liquid like substance in it but everyone gasped when they saw what it contained.
"The sharingan" Inoichi muttered in shock. Fugaku's chakra spiked as he snatched the jar away from Danzo. "Hokage Sama I demand that I be added to the team that is to hunt him down" he said. "You are in no position to make demands Fugaku. I understand where you are coming from but that man is not weak. He is one of if not the most dangerous shinobi walking this Earth right now.
We need to strategize" she said. "You said Naruto killed Shisui, and took his eyes for power but there's only one in the jar" Shikaku said keenly observing Danzo. "Ah yes, are any of you familiar with the summoning animals? I myself have a contract and Lady Hokage has the slugs." "What does that have to do with anything?" Fugaku asked trying to contain his anger.
"You see, Naruto has one as well but it's no ordinary contract. He contains the rarest one. That also happens to be the most dangerous one. He possesses the Tengu contract." Everyone froze at that. "No, no that's impossible!" said another council member. "Those things aren't real" said Tsume. "I wish they weren't but they are. Those feathers were not littered around the Hyuga estate for no reason" he said.
"That would explain his sunshin" said Tsunade. "Get to the point" said Fugaku. "His personal summon is a gaint eagle. It's easily twice, maybe even three times the size of a normal man. It also possesses the sharingan in one of his eyes" he lied. That one sent everyone through a loop. Not only did he have the 9 tails, he also had the forbidden scroll, one of the last few to posses a byakugan and now an ancient summoning animal that is said to possess a sharingan.
"Lady Tsunade I suggest that you bump Naruto up to double s rank" said Koharu. She looked at everyone and they nodded in agreement. "Only 3 men have achieved such status. Hashirama Senju, Madara Uchiha and Minato Namikaze. You do know that if I implicate this, he will have to be run on sight right?" "There won't be any running" Fugaku said.
"No offense but as it stands there's only a few people on this planet that are even capable of standing across from him in battle. I myself cannot beat him unless I'm willing to die in the process." They all turned around to see Jiraiya sitting in the window. "Surely you're overhyping his abilities Jiraiya Sama" said Inoichi. "I wish I was but me and Orochimaru trained him when he was younger. And even then, we had a hard time beating him.
He has only grown stronger since then. So in terms of flat out strength, maybe only the Raikage can match him but mentally, he's weaker than most. But he's not stupid. He knows that we're coming after him which is why we need Kakashi to join the team."
Kakashi was sitting in the dark in his house. After he reported what he found and gave his mission report, he locked himself in the house. His jonin friends couldn't get him to come out and neither could his students. He requested that his students be given a break along with all of the other rookies.
'Was he really surprised at this? He'd be lying if he said he was. He always knew that he was a ticking time bomb but he just ignored it because Naruto was his little brother. He still remembered the day after the 9 tails attack. Hiruzen warned him that if not cared for, Naruto could turn out to be more dangerous than he already was. Minato Sensei said that he was special and Kushina loved him as well.
He looked at the picture that had him holding a 7 year old Naruto upside down by his legs. He saw the wall of weapons that the boy had collected from his time in anbu. He then saw a picture of himself and their father from when he first joined the academy. He punched the picture, shattering the glass. He cut his hand badly but he didn't care.
Where did he go wrong?
The news spread like a wildfire across the elemental nations. The Raikage and the Tsuchikage immediately requested a 5 Kage summit. And all of the hidden villages were put on notice.
Temari was asleep on her sofa in her room. She had just gotten back from a mission and she was tired. Kankuro said that Gaara wanted to speak to her about something but she couldn't be bothered right now. She heard a knock at the door and she really tried to ignore it. Whoever it was could come back later. But to her luck that wasn't the case. "Kankuro get the door you idiot!" she screamed but she got no response. She growled and got up. She peeked her head into his room door and he was asleep. Whoever it was, they were going to get a piece of her mind.
She opened the door. "What do you wa-" she choked on her words. "Temari who is it?" Kankuro asked at the top of the stairs while wiping his eyes. "Uh, it's just a chunin who has some papers for me to sign." He shrugged and went back to his room. She pulled the person inside the house and shut the door. "What are you doing here and why are you covered in blood?" she whispered frantically.
30 minutes later she was frozen in shock. "Y-you did what?" "I killed them all. I didn't know where else to go so I came here and just found you with my byakugan" Naruto said. "You can't just say that so casually. You escaped from prison after committing treason and then you murdered your entire clan and you come here out of all places!?" she whispered.
"Look I came here because I thought I could trust you. If you want me to leave then I will" he said getting up. She grabbed his arm but quickly let go. "Wait, you can't just go out there. I'm sure Konoha is actively looking for you." "Everyone is actively looking for me" he said as he tossed her a bingo book. She understood what he wanted and she flipped to his page in the book and her eyes nearly popped out of her head.
"Double S rank? You stole the forbidden scroll!?" "I was just proving a point with that last one" he said. "You're the most wanted person on the planet right now and you still act as if you don't care. I knew you were crazy but this is taking the cake" she said. "You obviously don't care that I'm 'the most wanted person' considering you haven't kicked me out yet."
"Do not gaslight me. I haven't kicked you out yet for a multitude of reasons. One, you look just like your brother so that would warrant attention anyway. Two, you are covered in blood that's obviously not yours. And three, YOU ARE A DOUBLE S RANKED MISSING NIN" she said punching him on the head. "Damn if I knew you hit this hard, I might've been safer out there" he said.
"You need to get cleaned up and get out of here. If my brothers find out that you're here after what you did, they'll flip." "Your brother's won't even know I'm here. I have a damn biju in me. If Gaara couldn't sense that, then he damn sure won't know I'm here."
She sighed. This was a lot to take in. "Follow me, quietly" she said in a warning tone. Naruto put his hands up in a defensive manner. She made it to her room and he went in first. "Hey Temari, who were to talking to?" Kankuro asked from his door down the hall. "Uh, myself. You know how girls are. Now mind your business!" "Geez, not my fault you're insane" he muttered.
He then realized what he said and quickly shut the door locking it. She shook her head and went in her room. Closing the door and locking it. She pointed to her bathroom. "Shower now and announce it before you come out" she said. "Yes mother" Naruto said mockingly. She threw a towel at his face.
Minutes later he came out. "I thought I told you to announce yourself" she said from her bed. He tapped his chin in a thinking matter. Shades of someone he knew all too well. "I seemed to have forgotten" he said. She tried to contain her temper. He's lucky that she owed him one. "Give me your clothes, I'll go put them in the washer" she said.
He did so and sat on her bed. Her eye twitched but she left the room before she flipped on him.
She made it back to her room and found him holding her fan. "What the hell are you doing?" she whispered sweetly. "Inspecting your fan" he said like it was obvious. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself. "While you are here, don't touch anything. You just sit there, and shut up. Got that?" she asked. "Yeah yeah" he said handing her the fan.
She heard the front door open and she panicked. "Crap, Gaara's here. Don't do anything stupid" she said. "Relax, are you forgetting that I was an anbu? I promise you he won't know that I'm here." Moments later she heard a knock at her door. "Temari, there is something we need to discuss" came the monotone voice of her brother. She pushed Naruto into her closet and went to open the door. "What do we need to talk about Gaara?" she asked. "It's about Naruto Hatake, grab Kankuro and meet me at the dinner table" he said.
Naruto stood up in her closet and looked around. There weren't that many things in here, far from the average girl. There were a few battle dresses and a ton of fans. He saw an orange book and from years of being around Kakashi and Jiraiya, he knew what that was. 'So she was a perv after all huh?' he mused.
"And he is now labeled a double S rank missing nin" Gaara finished. Kankuro's jaw was on the floor by that point and Temari had to act surprised to not blow her cover. "Y-you mean he escaped prison only to murder an entire clan, his entire clan and then steal the forbidden scroll? I thought he was a good guy" said Kankuro. "Yes, I was surprised as well but people aren't always what they seem to be" said Gaara. "What do you think of this Temari? I mean it's obvious that you two knew each other" Kankuro asked.
"I can't believe it myself. I mean he seemed like a great person. I mean he saved us from being captured even though we invaded his village. And then for him to commit this out of all things is just crazy" she said. "I just hope I don't run into him. It's bad enough that he's the 9 tails jinchuriki already. Now he has unlimited forbidden jutsu" Kankuro said.
"If either one of you are to come in contact with him, find me. Do not engage him" Gaara said. Kankuro nodded with no hesitation and Temari silently agreed. Then Kankuro noticed something. "Hey is that blood on your hand?" 'Crap' she thought. "Yeah, some bandits tried to attack me on the way back" she said. "Oh yeah? So why are your hands bloody, you aren't a close range fighter and you don't use taijutsu?" Kankuro asked.
She pulled out a kunai. "Would you like a first hand demonstration of what I did to them?" she asked. He wisely shut his mouth as Gaara spoke. "There will be a 5 kage summit soon. I would like both of you to accompany me" he said. They nodded without hesitation and they all went their separate ways. She very hurriedly made it back to her room and found Naruto reading a book in her closet.
Her eyes widened in horror. "Where did you get that?" He looked at her with sarcasm. "Where else?" was his reply. She took the book and threw it in a pile of clothes, pulling him out of the closet in the process. "I assume you found out some interesting information regarding me" he said. "Shut it. You still have to leave once your clothes are done" she said.
A week later
Neji lay unconscious in his hospital bed. Hinata and Hanabi were at his bedside. They were discharged a few days after the incident and Neji had yet to wake up. People came to offer their condolences and give their sympathy and normally Hinata would kindly accept it but she just couldn't be bothered right now. Her and her little sister did enough crying and nothing they could do would bring them back.
"Do you think Neji is going to be okay?" Hanabi asked. "It's hard to tell. Naruto did a number on him. He beat the crap out of Neji. He bruised his ribs and broke his arm. Tsunade Sama already healed him and everything. It's just up to him now to wake up" she said. The little girl just put her head down. She thought Naruto was cool. A bit arrogant but cool. He always played with her and Hinata when they were away from their father.
And now she doesn't have a father or much family left at all. Neji began to stir which drew the attention of the girls. He slowly opened his eyes and took in his surroundings and it dawned on him. 'So it was true' he thought. He turned to the side and saw Hinata and Hanabi and sighed in relief. "Hanabi, Hinata" he said. They jumped into him giving him a hug. He winced in pain and they apologized.
Flashback
Neji was escorting Hinata and Hanabi back to their house. They had just went out for lunch and ended up staying later than normal due to all of the rookies being there. Neji slowly started to come back around. Of course he was still upset about the stunt Naruto pulled but what's done is done. Upon reaching the gate, they noticed it to already be opened which surprised them. Neji immediately knew something was off. He activated his byakugan and gasped.
"Hinata, Hanabi follow me" he said and he took off. They did as well and followed him. They noticed the bodies but were too shocked to say anything. They made it to the main house and came upon a frightening site. It was a giant Eagle? "What are you?" Neji asked. The beast just looked at them and glared. The wind started to pick up around them and feathers started to swirl. It began to walk towards them and Neji jumped in front of the girls to protect them.
He dropped in his stance and activated his byakugan. The next thing he knew he was sent flying with a brutal kick to the stomach. "Neji!" Hinata and Hanabi screamed in unison. He crashed into a nearby house, landing by a corpse in the process. He would've been shocked if he wasn't coughing up blood. The bird was on him in an instant. It was about to punch him but he barely dodged the giant fist. He was leaning against the wall as the bird started to chuckle.
"Why are you doing this?" cried Hinata. The Tengu flapped his wings sending a wave of wind towards the girls. It sent them flying back out of the house. It then caught the arm of the boy trying to strike him in the stomach. He gripped it tight causing the boy to cry out in pain. A snapping sound was heard as Neji grabbed his arm and fell to the ground in agony.
The bird delivered a swift chop to the neck and carried his unconscious body back outside

The door opened and team Gai came in and they were relieved to see him finally awake. "Neji, you're awake!" Tenten said with joy. "It appears so" he replied. "How youthful! To defend your family from an attack of an ancient demon. If i cannot match that feat, I'll do 10 thousand pushups with one arm!" Lee said. Neji actually didn't mind him. He was far too used to it by now. "What will you do now Neji?" asked a surprisingly serious Gai.
Neji looked at him like he was stupid. "What do you think I'm going to do?! He killed our entire clan!" "I thought Naruto wasn't a Hyuga, I mean it's obvious he is considering his eyes but he wasn't really family" said a confused Tenten. Neji took a deep breath. "His mother is my and Hinata's father's younger sister" he said. That surprised his team. Even Hanabi, she didn't know.
She looked to her older sister for confirmation and she got a sad nod in response.
"So he's your cousin. That would explain why you three were so close" Gai said. "We didn't know that up until the chunin exams. My father explained Naruto's origins to us and that's how we found out" said Hinata. "It still puzzles me that during the exams, he aided the village and even brought back Lady Tsunade to become the hokage. But then he attacks his anbu captain and then massa- sorry guys" Tenten said seeing them flinch.
"Whats done is done. He showed us all who he truly is. I'm going to hunt him down" Neji said firmly. "That's not wise" Gai said. "And why not!? He can't get away with this!" Neji asked. "Because he spared you three last time" said a new voice. "Hokage Sama" they all said. "Besides, if you hunt him down now he will kill you without batting an eye." "I don't care. I will gladly die knowing my clan is avenged" he said.
Hinata slapped him on the back of his head. "Don't say that" she said. "Everything is healed Neji. You just need to rest. There will be a meeting regarding the future of your clan when you are cleared. Do not do anything stupid. Am I clear?" she asked. He begrudgingly nodded and she left the room.
Itachi Uchiha, a man who barely displayed emotion was currently sitting at the dinner table eating. He was joined by Sasuke, and his mom. "I heard that you would be joining the squad that was to hunt him down" said Sasuke. "Sasuke, not now" said Mikoto. "It's fine mother. I realized Naruto was bound to do something like this long ago. I was just too slow to prevent it. And to answer your question Sasuke, yes I'm joining the team. So far it's me, and Jiraiya Sama."
"What about Kakashi?" Mikoto asked. "I haven't seen him since that night" he replied. "We're all on a hiatus. Me, Sakura and Sai can't even get him to come out of his house" said Sasuke. "You have to understand that Kakashi Senpai had already been through a lot prior to this event. He lost both of his parents and his entire genin squad in the last war. He then lost his sensei on the day of the 9 tails attack. Naruto was really the only thing keeping him going" Itachi said.
The door to the house flew open and Fugaku came in and he was not in a pleasant mood. "What's the matter honey?" Mikoto asked seeing his face. He pulled out the jar and they collectively gasped. "That's..." "Yes, it's Shisui's eye" he said. "How did you get it?" Itachi asked seriously.
After relaying the story to his family, Sasuke was pissed, as was Mikoto but no one was more enraged than Itachi. His best friend, his teammate, the man he went to hell and back for was responsible for the death of his cousin. He walked around as if he knew nothing the entire time! He helped search for him! When he was the one who did it all along and he took his eye! Itachi Uchiha was a man on a mission.
Naruto for the life of him couldn't understand why he came here. Because this woman was crazy! She was so paranoid. "Would you calm down. Nobody is going to see us" he said. After he got his clothes, he went out into the Sand dunes to practice a jutsu he found in the forbidden scroll. "How do you expect me to be calm when for one, you're practicing an S class Jutsu out in the open like it's normal. And secondly, did you forget that my brother can control and sense all of this sand?" she asked.
"You're the only one he can sense. I didn't ask you to follow me, remember?" "I didn't ask you to come to my home after you did what you did" she replied. He went silent at that. "Sorry-" "it's fine" he cut her off. He ran his fingers through his hair and read over the scroll.
"Tobirama was one sick person" he said. She came up behind him to take a peak at the scroll. "Edo-Tensai?" she questioned. "Yeah, the jutsu the snake used during the invasion" he said. "Wait you mean when he brought back the previous Hokage to fight?" "Yeah but it seems to be more complexed than that. A lot of seals and other crap to master before you can actually complete it" he said. "And just why are you trying to learn that?" "Who said I was trying to learn it?" "You came out here to practice jutsu and you're obviously reading that one" she said.
He smirked, "Ah see you women have to learn to stop jumping to conclusions and just be patient" he said. He had to dodge a kunai that was aimed straight for his groin. "Watch your mouth" she warned. He waved her off and continued to read the scroll. "Ah there it is", he held out his hand and a swirling ball of chakra appeared. Temari's eyes widened. "That's the fourth Hokage's jutsu" she said. "Yeah, and it feels dangerous" he said.
"How'd you master it by just reading the instructions?"
"Well contrary to popular belief, I'm not some sort of God or something" "Nobody thinks you're that besides you" Temari rejected. "Anyway, my brother was the student of the fourth and my sensei was the sensei of the fourth. I watched them do it for so long with my byakugan that all I really needed was the instructions to do it" he finished. "But to still do it on your first try is something else." "Want an autograph?" he asked smugly.
She rolled her eyes. "Hey Temari, Gaara wanted to know what you were doing out here this late?" came the voice of Kankuro. She jumped and turned around, only to find Naruto gone. She turned back to her brother. "I just needed to get some fresh air. You know with all the madness going on" she said. "Yeah I know what you mean. I tried to get out of a mission in going to Konoha because I didn't want to be in all the crap."
It was a few moments before he spoke. "Do you think he's going to come here?" "You mean Naruto?" she asked. "Yeah, I mean you know each other and with all the crap he knows and has in his arsenal, who's to say he won't pop up here and cause chaos?"
She chuckled. "What?" "It's just that I never knew you to be scared of anyone" she said. "Who says I'm scared? I'm just looking out for my dear sister. I wouldn't want her to get hurt" he mocked. "Can it makeup boy" she said. He growled but began walking away. "Just don't stay out here for too long. I would hate to have to come look for you in a sandstorm."
She shook her head at his antics. A note fell out of her pocket. "Huh?" she picked it up and opened it.
"Now now, I know I just happened to disappear unannounced but I needed to handle some things. I would like to humbly thank you for allowing me to stay in your house for the day. Also thank you for shoving me into your closet. I found out a lotmore about you. I have a feeling that I'll be paying for that the next time i see you but high risk, high reward. And finally I would like to thank you for not judging me considering what I and not ratting me out. Until next time blondie"
The note ended. She just smiled at his antics. She folded the note and placed it back in her pocket and headed home.
