Queen Elsa of Arendelle sat quietly in her private chambers, sunlight streaming through the large arched windows.

A slight winter chill filled the air, though the snow outside sparkled brightly under the mid-morning sun. It was a perfect day in Arendelle, a kingdom that thrived even in the coldest months.

Elsa's hand rested lightly on her belly, now noticeably swollen from her pregnancy with her and Kristoff's first child. She still couldn't believe how far she had come. It felt like just yesterday when she had told Kristoff the news that they were expecting. The joy and excitement that followed had been overwhelming, and Kristoff's reaction had been everything she could have hoped for—tears of happiness, a tight embrace, and promises of a future filled with love and adventures as parents.

Now, almost four months along, today was the day they would find out the gender of their baby.

Elsa had always been calm and composed as queen, but this morning she felt butterflies in her stomach that had nothing to do with the baby or her royal duties. In a few short hours, she would know if she and Kristoff were having a little prince or princess, and the anticipation was almost too much to handle. Her powers even flickered a bit in response to her emotions, and a few snowflakes floated lazily through the room before dissolving into the air. There were three curt knocks at the door, breaking her from her thoughts. The door creaked open to reveal Anna, her sister, who was practically bouncing with excitement.

"Elsa! Are you ready? Today's the big day!" Anna chirped as she practically flew into the room, her auburn hair bouncing with her energy.

Elsa couldn't help but smile.

"I am. I'm nervous, but I'm ready."

Anna grinned and wrapped her arms around Elsa in a warm hug.

"You're going to find out if I'm going to have a niece or nephew! I can't believe it! I'm so excited I could burst!"

"Not as excited as Kristoff is," Elsa chuckled.

"I swear, he's been counting down the days."

As if on cue, Kristoff appeared in the doorway, slightly out of breath. Sven, his loyal reindeer, was nowhere in sight, probably outside grazing in the snow. His broad grin made his emotions clear—he was just as eager for this day as Elsa was.

"Sorry I'm late!" he said, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.

"I had to make sure Sven was settled before we leave. Are you ready to go?"

Elsa nodded, a hint of nervousness still swirling inside her.

"I think so."

Kristoff stepped forward and took Elsa's hand in his, squeezing it gently.

"Hey, no matter what we find out, this baby is going to be perfect. I can't wait to meet him or her." he reassured, as if sensing her nervousness.

Elsa's heart swelled with love for Kristoff. His steady support had been a source of strength throughout her pregnancy, and she knew he would make an incredible father. She leaned into him, grateful for his presence.

"Let's go then!" she said softly.

And with that, they took their leave.

The journey to the healer's quarters wasn't far. Unlike modern kingdoms, Arendelle didn't have a traditional hospital, but they had highly skilled healers who could perform many of the same tasks.

Elsa and Kristoff had arranged for the best healer in the kingdom, one who had been trained in the latest techniques of pregnancy care, including ultrasounds.

As they entered the healer's quarters, they were greeted by a kind woman named Eira, the head healer, who had been overseeing Elsa's pregnancy from the beginning. She had gentle hands and a calming presence, which immediately put Elsa at ease.

"Your Majesties," she said with a warm smile, bowing slightly before leading them into a private room where the examination would take place.

"I trust you're both feeling well today?"

"As well as can be expected," Elsa replied with a nervous smile.

"I've been feeling the baby move more lately. It's incredible."

Eira smiled softly.

"That's always a good sign. It means the baby is active and healthy. Now, shall we get started?"

Elsa and Kristoff exchanged a quick glance before nodding. They both sat down, Kristoff keeping close to Elsa's side as Eira prepared the equipment.

The room was cozy, with soft lighting and calming colors.

There was a large chair for Elsa to recline in, and Kristoff took a seat beside her, holding her hand as Eira explained the process.

"We'll be doing a routine ultrasound today to check on the baby's growth and development," Eira explained as she began to set up the device.

"But I know the two of you are particularly eager to find out the baby's gender."

Elsa's heart raced as she leaned back, exposing her swollen belly as Eira applied a cooling gel across it. Kristoff squeezed her hand again, his thumb brushing over her knuckles in a soothing gesture. She appreciated his calm energy—it helped balance her own nerves.

Eira moved the transducer across Elsa's stomach, her eyes focused on the screen as she searched for a clear image of the baby.

Elsa and Kristoff both turned their attention to the monitor, their hearts pounding in unison.

After a few moments, the black and white image of their baby appeared on the screen.

"There we are," Eira said softly.

"There's your beautiful little one."

Elsa felt her breath catch in her throat as she stared at the screen. It was surreal, seeing the baby moving inside her—the tiny head, arms, and legs all perfectly formed. Even though she had been pregnant for months, the reality of it hit her all over again.

I'm gonna be a mama…

Kristoff let out a soft laugh of amazement.

"Look at our baby, Elsa. I can't believe it..." he breathed.

Tears filled Elsa's eyes as she gazed at the screen, overwhelmed with emotion. She felt Kristoff's arm wrap around her shoulder, pulling her close as they both stared in awe at their baby.

Eira smiled, watching their reactions for a moment before turning her attention back to the screen.

"Everything looks healthy and normal, which is excellent. Now, if you're ready, Your Majesties, I believe I can tell you the baby's gender."

Elsa felt her heart skip a beat.

This is it.

This was the moment they had waited four long months for.

Kristoff squeezed Elsa's hands, his voice barely a whisper.

"Are you ready?"

Elsa nodded, her throat tight with emotion.

"I'm ready."

Eira adjusted the transducer again, moving it slightly to get a better view of the baby. After a few moments of silence, she smiled and turned to them.

"Congratulations, Your Majesties," she said softly.

"You're having a little girl."

A wave of emotion crashed over Elsa. A girl. She was going to have a daughter. A little princess.

Oh my God. It's a girl! I'm going to have a baby girl!

Tears welled up in her eyes, and she couldn't stop the soft sob that escaped her lips. The reality of it was overwhelming—a tiny life growing inside, a future filled with love, joy, and the responsibility of raising a daughter.

Kristoff was speechless, his eyes wide with awe. He glanced between Elsa and the screen, his emotions raw and visible on his face.

"A girl?" he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

"We're having a baby girl? I'm gonna have a daughter?"

Elsa nodded, her tears falling freely now.

"A girl, Kristoff. We're having a girl. We're gonna have a daughter..." she whispered back.

Kristoff's hand trembled slightly as he reached out to touch Elsa's belly, his heart overwhelming with love for both her and their unborn daughter. He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to Elsa's temple.

"She's going to be perfect. Just like her mom," he whispered.

Elsa let out a soft laugh through her tears, her heart filled with love and gratitude. She couldn't believe how lucky she was to have Kristoff by her side, to share this moment with him.

"Thank you," she cried, overcome with emotion.

"Thank you for making me a mom."

Kristoff began to cry as well and he brushed his lips to Elsa's passionately.

"No," he breathed.

"Thank you for making me a dad."

Eira quietly stepped out of the room to give them a moment, sensing the intensity of their emotions.

Elsa turned to Kristoff, her hand still resting on her swollen belly.

"We're going to have a daughter..." she said, her voice filled with awe.

Kristoff's eyes held a glint of love and adoration as he pulled Elsa into a gentle hug.

"A daughter..." he replied, his voice filled with wonder.

They stayed like that for a long moment, wrapped up in each other and the reality of the life they were bringing into the world.

Later that evening, after they had returned to the palace, Elsa and Kristoff found themselves sitting in the nursery they had begun preparing for the baby.

The room was a work in progress, but Elsa had insisted on helping design it herself, making sure every detail was perfect for their child.

And now that they knew they were having a girl, the room took on a whole new meaning.

Kristoff sat in a chair beside Elsa, his hand resting on hers as they both stared at the crib they had picked out together.

It was still empty, but not for much longer.

"I love you, Elsa," Kristoff said softly, his voice breaking the comfortable silence.

Elsa smiled, leaning her head on Kristoff's shoulder as she thought of all the possibilities of their future together.

"I love you too..." she whispered back.

And for the first time in a long, she felt truly at peace. She had found love, she had found her place, her purpose, and now, she was about to become a mother…

And she couldn't wait to meet her daughter.
