Sedna watches Donovan, Eddie, and Kono play in the water. The three are relaxing at Andrew Molera Beach. The nereids and mermaids are playing with the three humans. Nesallea, Philiasei, Helikei, Telidaki, Melanippe, and Klymentise surround the three humans, knowing Sedna is watching them.
The six nereids, deeply fond of the humans, go to great lengths to ensure their safety. Their protective instincts are strong, and they notice other humans observing the trio. To shield them from any potential harm, they split into pairs. Kono and Eddie engage in a volleyball game in the water while Donovan explores the underwater world alone. Aura and Aurae, accompanied by Szélanya, stand guard; their unwavering commitment to the well-being of the humans instills a sense of security in the audience, reassuring them of the nereids' protective nature.
"Eddie?" A man's voice breaks the tranquility, calling out to the youngest of the three. Eddie turns to see Buck and Tommy, their faces etched with confusion and concern. Their worry is palpable in the air, and they clearly care deeply for Eddie.
"Kono?" another concerned voice calls out to the only woman in the group. Kono's warm and reassuring smile meets Chin and Abby's worried gazes, creating a moment of connection amidst the vastness of the beach.
"Donovan?" A third man inquires, his voice laced with worry. Donovan notices the concern in Dominique Luca and Jim Street's eyes. Luca had been eager to introduce Street to the joys of snorkeling. Still, his concern for Donovan's safety overshadows his initial excitement.
"Are you coming in or going away?" Donovan questions the groups. Tommy looks at his twin and Eddie with worry.
"Who's with you?" He questions them. Eddie smiles adorably at him.
"Don't worry, Tommy. The nereids and the mermaids won't hurt you," Eddie tells him, causing Donovan to laugh. Everyone else is confused with the mythical creatures.
"Eddie's right," Donovan tells him. The mermaids, Helikei and Telidaki, are with him. They're the dangerous ones. Sedna watches with a smile, thinking that the three have other humans who care. She's been swimming with Donovan to check up on her human.
"Three on three?" Chin trusts his cousin, and Abby follows her boyfriend's lead. Tommy and Buck are already in the water. Eddie beams at Chin.
"Yes!" Eddie agrees, his excitement infectious. Everyone laughs at the childish behavior, enjoying the carefree moment. Buck looks at his partner and is worried about him. The ten start to play volleyball, a simple game that brings them together in joy and camaraderie. Luca and Street swim towards Donovan, the mermaids wary but staying close. Nommo and Sedna watch in the distance, pleased to see their children enjoying themselves."
"Where's Tan?" Donovan questions the two.
"With Chris. The two are on a date together. Are you okay, Rocker?" Street tells him, concern evident in his voice. Donovan hums, a non-committal response that doesn't entirely hide his feelings.
"Donovan, outside of the job, Street. So it's true that you three are together?" Donovan questions him. Street smiles, understanding the implication of Donovan's words.
"Yes, we are with Erika. What are you going to do with Deacon?" he confirms, his voice filled with warmth and affection for his partners. Donovan shrugs, and Luca nudges him.
"I don't know yet, Dom. They hoped that they could spring it on me and accept it. However, I don't want to talk about it. I want to relax today," Donovan tells the two and dives into the water. Both men smile in understanding. They see a flap of fin on top of the water. They see a mermaid taking Donovan snorkeling again.
"Did you know, Luca?" Jim asks his friend. Dom smiles at Donovan's retreating form.
"No," Luca tells him and follows Donovan. Nommo and Sedna smile at their children. The three need protection, and they're getting it in the ocean. Poseidon can't do anything, as Nommo and Sedna are older than him. However, they know he won't do anything because his favorite demigod child protects the three of them.
"Alright, food!" Buck declares to the group. Chin, Abby, Tommy, and Buck watch as Kono and Eddie playfully fight. Laughing and giggling are in the air. Luca and Street manage to get Donovan to join them. The sea creatures stay in the water, a visible presence of protection. The caves of Andrew Molera Beach give them shelter, and the sea provides a sense of security. Apu, the mountain god, gives the three the protection he wants to give them, ensuring their safety and well-being.
All creatures, including the deities, know the pain and suffering the three have gone through. Yet, they are still willing to protect everyone else. The deities and creatures may or may not like them, but they all respect them for their resilience and determination. The breeze is warm and chilly. Eddie curls up against Buck, Kono to Chin, and Donovan to Tommy. Dominique smiles at the twins, proud of their strength and courage.
"Who knew about this?" Buck watches his partner drifting in and out of sleep. Chin pulls his cousin on his lap so she can use him as a pillow. Tommy did the same with Donovan.
"No, but that's not important right now. Right now, we need to support them. They're hurting and need protection. The creatures provide that right now. We need to show them we're here," Dominique says, and the group smiles. All agreeing. Buck, Dominique, and Chin lift their person up while the other three pack up. Nommo and Sedna know better than to come on land, but they enjoy their humans. They go and check on them.
