Gilda's head spun. The ceiling collapsed? Just what was Perse doing? She assumed from where the kitchen was located that it was Perse's fight that had knocked it down. Sure enough, when she hastily blinked the spices out. her eyes and pulled herself out of the wreckage, she saw Perse float down from above. Her friend looked worse for wear, although given that she could still control her strings, she wasn't out of the fight entirely.

The woman fighting her–Mirajane now also transformed in Take-Over–gazed at Perse, a variety of emotions on her face, the prominent one being determination. Even in animal form, perhaps especially in animal form, Gilda had a clear feeling of dread just looking at her. The thing about wolves was that they knew when to bow to the stronger force. They were stubborn, sure, but rarely stupid enough to entangle themselves in a fight they couldn't win. That wasn't a fight she could win

Today, however, she just might have to try.

There was the matter of the other opponent first. He looked across the room as well, clearly just as stunned at what just happened, and with significantly fewer scratches. How was he doing that?

Perse would have liked to ponder that. Gilda didn't have the time.

Instead, she took the opportunity of him being distracted and sprang from her place underneath the rubble, abandoning her two-legged stance in favor of a pounce. Her aim straight and true, she waited for the satisfying crack of ribs as she launched right into him.

The man gasped, rose to defend himself and…she experienced the altogether unpleasant sensation of moving straight through him.

With a yelp, she stopped herself from sliding straight into a wall. How could she have missed? Or rather, what had she been running towards? She looked back at the man and noticed for the first time something…off about him. That was when he flickered, a devilish grin spreading across his face.

Oh no. She took a deep sniff and realized his smell was no longer by where she thought he stood. In the confusion, and the previous scent overload, she hadn't even bothered to check.

"So, we're free to tear this place apart now? I'm relieved. It makes my job so much easier."

That was the last thing she heard before a chunk of the rubble slammed into her side, carrying her across the room. Towards Perse.
