Author's Note: I've opted to post mid week in addition to Fridays when I have time.
In the lot of these next scenes in Greenland, the WSB is hanging around at different times on the actual show. While the WSB is around, I'm assuming they're not hovering close or not in earshot a because they're a little suspect at this point. As you'll see no one is really keen on Charles being held by the WSB for evaluation or having the WSB clue into Kellie and Adam's assistance either. So it's definitely the secret everyone is keeping from the WSB as much as possible. Getting Charles back to Port Charles under those circumstances has been intriguing.
Trina was waiting with Ace and Valentin when Taggert and Charles walked in to the room the WSB was gathering people in. Charles moved off to the side out of the way, attempting not to be noticed.
"Dad," Trina said, handing Ace to Valentin and running to Taggert, "What are you doing here?"
Taggert gave Trina huge bear hug, "Looking for you. Did you really think I'd sit on the sidelines when my baby girl was in danger?"
"No," Trina said, "But Mom had said you were kept out of anything official by your superiors."
"I found a ride," Taggert said, quietly.
"Who?" Trina asked.
"That is not important," Valentin said, "Not right now anyway."
"Have you heard anything about Spencer?" Trina asked.
"No," Taggert said, "I know people are looking. They haven't come up with anything. Although it sounds like the main contact for that has lost reception again."
"He's out there, he has to be," Trina said.
"And our friends will find him," Taggert said, embracing Trina again.
Valentin finally turned his attention to Charles, wanting to see who else had come in with Taggert.
"Taggert, am I seeing things or?" Valentin asked.
Taggert motioned to Valentin to keep his voice down. Valentin, Trina, and Taggert joined Charles off to the side to talk quietly where the WSB couldn't hear.
"Valentin," Charles acknowledged him.
"What in god's name would my father want with you and how are you not six feet under?" Valentin asked.
"I wasn't your father's intended target," Charles replied, softly.
"Kellie. But then you got in the way and he had to improvise," Valentin said.
"Kellie's been off the Cassadine radar for years," Taggert said, "At least since Helena died aside from your on-again off-again grudge with her, Valentin."
"Victor thought she had the potential to influence Spencer given how much he'd showed up at her place in California," Charles said, "And he felt she could be a threat to his plans to take out half the world with a virus if she got wind of them. Not to mention, Victor was angry at her for shooting Peter August and taking away his last chance at activating Drew's brainwashing. He used dropping Drew off on the island last year as a distraction along with the threats against Kellie in the mob war last year to try to neutralize her. Rather than outright killing her, his sniper got hold of a bullet similar to one that Kellie used to make it look like she killed Sam years ago. Victor told me that he'd planned to see if he could brainwash Kellie rather than just kill her. However, he seemed sufficiently convinced that even though his plan to capture Kellie didn't go as planned that my death along with the mob war that was going on at the time would be enough to keep her distracted from his plans and Spencer. He kept me alive to be human guinea pig if he'd gotten an antidote to work with."
"Jesus," Taggert said as Trina gasped. Taggert hugged Trina a little tighter against him.
"You should know, my father is dead," Valentin said, "I identified the body."
"Thank god," Charles muttered, than caught himself, "No offense. The man was still your father."
"None taken," Valentin said, "There's no love lost between me and him. Not after he put my daughter in a boarding school and cut her off from contacting me and her mother."
"Well I'm glad we could get you out of here, Mr. Scott," Trina said, trying to ease the tension, "And back home to your family. I'm sure Kellie and your grandkids will be really happy to see you."
"But who knows how long that will take," Valentin said, "I mean the WSB will probably hold him to make sure Victor didn't mess with him."
"Anna's working on that as we speak," Taggert said, "The less the we tell the WSB about Charles the better."
"Agreed, not after what just happened here," Valentin said, "You should have your own specialists check you out."
Port Charles
"Have we been able to reach Adam again yet?" Kellie asked.
"No," Milo said.
"Everyone's been accounted for but Spencer," Jason said.
"Keep trying to contact Adam," Kellie said, "He was supposed to be checking out the Haunted Star wreckage and find Spencer."
"I'm sure it's just a reception issue and Spencer will find the rest of the group or someone from Adam's team or the WSB," Sam said, rejoining the group along with Kristina and Lorenzo.
"Have you heard from Drew?" Lulu asked.
Sam nodded in relief, "He found Obrecht and they're getting her here as soon as possible to get Willow her transplant."
"What all happened on the island?" Kristina asked, "Or do we know yet?"
"Victor caught Laura, Valentin, Curtis, and Drew," Kellie said, "He had Valentin isolated and injected with the virus. Holly, Anna, and Taggert were able to help the rest of the crew get the upper hand on Victor and his men. But Victor escaped in the process with Liesl as a hostage still."
"Drew said he and Holly found Liesl and Victor," Sam said, "Victor escaped by shoving Liesl at them and she was injured. Nothing serious thankfully."
"Laura and Curtis stopped a snow machine," Kellie said, "And determined that Victor had headed to the Haunted Star. Holly and Anna were able to get the antidote to Valentin. Somewhere in all that Curtis was able to free Spencer and Trina who he told where to find our people. Trina made it out, but Spencer went after Victor. No one's seen or heard from him yet."
"I just heard Victor's body has been identified," Jason said.
"Thank heavens for small favors," Sam said.
Greenland
While walking with the rest of the group to the leave, Trina upon seeing Spencer, yelled, "Spencer," ran and leapt into his arms. As they kissed, Adam made his way into cautiously into view from behind the rocks.
Taggert and Curtis both raised their weapons.
"Hold on," Laura said as Adam raised his hands.
"I mean no harm," Adam said.
"Adam," Laura said, recognizing the voice, "Do I have you to thank for my grandson being alive?"
Taggert and Curtis lowered their weapons.
"I found him in the water," Adam said, "Unfortunately, after that debris got caught in the prop and I had to limp to the island."
"You're welcome to hitch a ride with us courtesy of the WSB," Curtis said.
"Now that Spencer is safely back with you, I'm sure you'll understand if I pass," Adam said, "Our group at this point would prefer to avoid the WSB as much as possible."
"Tell your bosses, thank you," Taggert said.
Adam nodded, "I'll let them know as soon as I can Spencer is safe."
"If you're not WSB, then who's your boss?" Spencer asked.
Adam slipped off without answering.
"Do you know who his boss is?" Spencer asked.
"That's a discussion for another time," Laura said, "We really should get moving."
"Laura's right," Taggert said, "Let's get off this island as soon as possible. We can thank any one providing assistance later."
The group continued on.
"So Spencer," Laura said, "Before we made it to Greenland, I spoke to your cousin, Kellie, and you know what she told me."
"What, Grandmother?" Spencer asked, humoring her.
"That you should crash at her house like you used to in California," Laura said.
"Wait, she said that?" Spencer asked, "Wait, can I do that? Why am I questioning this? I don't know why it didn't occur to me to do that before? Who cares that I live in the same town as Kellie now? Of course, I can just show up at my cousin's house."
Trina laughed as Spencer got a puzzled look on his face and looked back in the direction Adam had disappeared.
"My cousin, did she?" Spencer started to ask.
"That might be something you'll have to ask her yourself," Laura said.
Spencer smiled to himself.
