Kellie stood frozen, looking at Charles.
"It can't be," Kellie said to herself.
"Marcus Taggert found him in Greenland," Liesl said, "It's him."
Kellie looked at Liesl briefly before looking back across the room over at Charles. Then Kellie looked at Lorenzo, questioningly.
Lorenzo nodded, reassuringly.
Kellie looked back at Charles, a multitude of emotions reflecting on her face. The next thing anyone knew Kellie was running across the room and then launched herself at Charles to hug him. Though surprised at the intensity of Kellie's reaction, Charles caught her in the hug.
"This is real right?" Kellie managed to say, tears streaming down her face, "I'm not imagining this?"
"It's real," Charles said, then stepping back to look at Kellie, "Although, I'm still not sure I believe it myself."
"How?" Kellie said, "I watched you…."
"I know," Charles said, wiping tears from Kellie's face, "I will answer all of your questions, but I right now I'm on my way to get a number of scans. It's all boring, routine stuff. I'll come find you afterwards, I promise. In the meantime, your uncle can answer some of those questions."
"Okay," Kellie said, still kind of shaky, and hesitating to step away.
"I promise we'll take really good care of your father-in-law," Liz said to Kellie.
"I know," Kellie said, "It's just umm..."
"I get it," Liz said, "But once we get all this stuff out of the way, you'll have all the time you want to catch up."
Kellie nodded.
"We'll get get it'll all sorted out eventually," Charles said, hugging Kellie.
"I'm really glad you're here," Kellie said, "Even if I... I just don't understand any of it right now."
"It certainly is a lot to take in," Charles said before Kellie let him go.
"Now go and make sure everything is okay," Kellie said, " and it be better be."
"Only because you said so," Charles replied before he left with Epiphany, Liz, and the guards.
Kellie watched Charles walk off down the hall until Lorenzo touched her shoulder.
"Why don't we go somewhere quieter and we can talk," Lorenzo said, seeing Jason and Max were delayed by Sonny and Nina.
Kellie nodded as Lorenzo led her away.
Author's Note: Yay! Kellie knows Charles is alive. When I knew that Charles wasn't actually dead, when it came to how Kellie would find out, there was really only one scenario that came to mind and it was Kellie seeing Charles across the room at GH without warning. I did consider someone telling her before he got back to Port Charles, but it just didn't feel like the way to go. I hope the wait was worth it and you enjoyed the intrigue of how does Charles get back to Port Charles while evading the WSB and Kellie not finding out before she sees him.
Unfortunately, this is a short chapter. I'm not sure I'll have time to post another chapter like I've sometimes done when the weekend chapter has been shorter. It's a busy weekend and also why I'm posting earlier Friday than I usually have. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
