Kellie & Jason's House
Kellie paused outside the door before entering the house.
"What do you need?" Jason asked, "If you need a little more time before you tell the kids, it's okay."
Kellie shook her, "I don't want to risk them getting the news on their own. It's just a lot to process."
"I know," Jason said, taking Kellie's hand, "We'll tell the kids together. It's not all on you."
Kellie nodded, then took a deep breath as Alyssa opened the door and peaked out.
"How long are you and Daddy Jason going to stand outside putting off telling us what's wrong?" Alyssa asked.
"First off, nothing's wrong," Kellie said, "And we were just coming inside to talk you."
"Then why did Uncle Franny pull us out of school early today?" Alyssa asked, "Usually that means something bad happened."
"Alyssa, let mom and Jason inside," Jared said, appearing behind Alyssa, "Then they can tell us what's going on."
Alyssa glared at Jared and then ran off yelling, "Jamie, get downstairs," as Kellie and Jason entered the house.
They gathered the kids in the family room.
"So what danger or threat do we have deal with now?' Jamie asked.
"First off, there's no danger or threats," Kellie said, "Nothing bad happened. What I have to tell you is actually good news."
Jamie, Jared, and Alyssa looked at other and then at Jason and Kellie confused. Kelsey sat on the floor with her coloring book and crayons.
"Then what's going on?" Jared asked, "You don't usually pull us out of school for that type of thing."
Kellie took a deep a breathe, "There was a mix-up on the island last year when your Grandpa Charles got shot."
"What kind of mix-up?" Jamie asked.
"We just found out that the people that shot at us only made us think your Grandpa was dead," Kellie said, "Grandpa Charles is actually alive."
There was a stunned silence as Jared, Jamie, and Alyssa tried to make sense of what Kellie was saying.
"Either you're dead or you're not," Jared finally said, "I don't see how you could have that sort of mix up."
"We buried his body in the cemetery," Jamie asked, "Unless it somehow wasn't his body."
"I know it sounds really unbelievable," Kellie started to say.
"If Grandpa was alive, he would have contacted us," Alyssa interrupted, "At least you, Mom, to go get him."
Kellie looked at Jason at a loss for words.
"Your Grandpa Charles didn't have the ability to contact anyone," Jason said, "There are lot of questions that the police will need to find answers to."
"Then where has Grandpa Charles been?" Alyssa asked, "Why he couldn't contact anyone?"
"Did Spencer's psycho uncle kidnap him?" Jamie asked, "Like Helena Cassadine kidnapped Jake and made everything think he was dead when he was a little kid?"
Kellie and Jason looked surprised at Jamie.
"You just had to help rescue Spencer and his girlfriend from said psycho uncle," Jamie explained, "If Grandpa Charles is alive, but we were made to think he was dead, and he couldn't contact anyone, it sounds like something the Cassadines would do."
"So like Uncle Drew or someone found Grandpa Charles when they were looking for well everyone else Spencer's uncle kidnapped," Jared said.
"Trina's dad found Charles when they were looking for everyone else," Jason said, "But that's about what happened."
"Don't the Cassadines brainwash people?" Alyssa asked, "Would Grandpa Charles still even be Grandpa Charles? That wouldn't be good news."
"Grandpa Charles, well he's still him," Kellie said, "I can guarantee it. I saw him this morning."
"The doctors at General Hospital are checking him out," Jason said, "A few other doctors checked him out before he got to Port Charles. So far the doctors a pretty optimistic that your Grandpa is fine physically and mentally."
"If you saw Grandpa already, does that mean we can see him," Jamie asked, "Could we go the hospital and see him?"
"Yes, of course, you will get to see him," Kellie said, "I don't know when yet."
"But you got to see him, Mom," Jared said.
"I just happened to be at the hospital when he came in," Kellie said, "He went to the hospital right from airport. He probably has jet lag since he came from Greenland. We're going to let him have a chance to rest and get a good night's sleep or two before you all descend on him."
"But Mom," Alyssa started to whine, "I want to see Grandpa Charles now."
"Alyssa Rose Scott," Kellie replied with a look.
Alyssa pouted.
"Your mom and I know you really want to see your Grandpa," Jason said, "I know he really wants to see you. He's going to be fine, but he also will need a little time to adjust to being back. We need to make sure we give him that time."
"Where's Grandpa going to stay?" Jamie asked, "Is he going to go live at the Quartermaines again?"
"Or he would just stay here with us?" Alyssa said.
"Uncle Lo arranged a place for him to stay until he can decide what he wants to do, where he wants to live," Kellie said, "But I will talk to Grandpa Charles and see when he might want to come join us for dinner one night."
They were interrupted by the sound of Kelsey tearing the page she was coloring out of her book. Kelsey stood up and walked over to Kellie.
"Give to Grandpa Charlie," Kelsey said, handing Kellie the paper.
