Kellie was finishing up with a self-defense class after Spencer left when Jason walked in.

"What brings you here?" Kellie asked as the students were leaving, "I thought you were home with the kids."

"I was," Jason said, "It appears we've both been kicked out of our house tonight."

"What are you talking about?" Kellie asked.

"I'm not entirely sure," Jason said, "Sometime after Charles arrived, the kids started asking about spending the night at his house sometime. He said they'd have to wait until he figured out his living situation."

"Makes sense, the safehouse isn't home for him," Kellie said.

"Jamie suggested he stay the night at our house," Jason said, "And somehow that discussion devolved into Alyssa and Kelsey trying to herd me out the front door, so they could have the sleepover with their Grandfather at our house, but without us there, so it would be like it would be at Charles's place."

"I can imagine how chaotic that probably was," Kellie said, "Was Charles even okay with that idea?"

"I told the kids they had to clean their rooms while Charles and I discussed the possibility," Jason said, "I didn't want him to feel pressured. He was fine with it. More than fine actually. I think it made him feel good to know his grandkids wanted to spend time with him like that."

"It'll be good for all of them," Kellie said, "Even if I'm slightly disappointed I don't get to see him as planned tonight."

"You'll see him tomorrow," Jason said, "Charles is taking all of us out to brunch."

"Of course he is," Kellie said, "One thing, Spencer was here earlier and I invited him over for dinner tonight. I need to let Spencer know, we won't be there."

Kellie & Jason's House

Charles opened the front door to find Spencer standing outside.

"Hi," Spencer said confused.

"I assume you're here to see Kellie," Charles said.

"Sort of," Spencer said, "I saw her earlier and she said I could come over for dinner. I didn't realize you were here."

Charles motioned Spencer inside.

"So slight change of plans," Charles said as Spencer came inside and Charles shut the door, "Kellie and Jason won't be here tonight."

"Did something happen?" Spencer asked concerned.

"Everything's fine," Charles said, "When I came over to spend time with the kids before dinner, they wanted to come spend the night at my place. It wasn't something I wanted to do at the safe house."

"Somehow Alyssa and the boys turned that into you staying here for the night without their parents," Spencer said, "In that case, I will be on my way."

"You are still welcome to stay for dinner," Charles said.

"I don't want to get in the way of…" Spencer started to say when Alyssa flew into the room.

"Spencer," Alyssa said, "Are you having dinner with us and spending the night here?"

"I wasn't planning…," Spencer started to say.

"Do you have any other plans?" Alyssa asked.

"Well, no," Spencer said as Alyssa grabbed his arm.

"Then you're staying for dinner," Alyssa said, dragging Spencer further into the house.

Spencer looked back at Charles as if inquiring for help.

Charles shook his head and laughed to himself as Alyssa and Spencer disappeared from the room.

Kellie looked at her phone and saw a text message

"And Spencer is already at the house," Kellie said, "Charles texted. Alyssa insisted he at least stay for dinner."

"So what was Spencer doing here?" Jason asked.

"He wanted an update on Esme if I found anything," Kellie answered, "And Alexis had also prodded him about what he's doing with his life. He was annoyed about that too. I attempted to steer him in some sort of direction from there."

"I think it's great that you're trying to give Spencer guidance," Jason said.

"I do what I can," Kellie said, "Uncle Lo was here earlier too. He wanted to talk about the shipping company."

"I did talk to him about my concerns with Pikeman recently," Jason said, "I couldn't really get a feel for what he was thinking."

"He wants the company back," Kellie said.

"And how do you feel about that?" Jason asked.

"Well, I'm annoyed because Uncle Lo is exercising a clause to take to back the company at his discretion," Kellie answered.

"What clause is this?" Jason said, "I wouldn't have thought you would have finalized the deal with something like that in the contract."

"He tried to sneak it in," Kellie said, "I did see it, but was also under a time crunch at the time. I knew he might balk if I pushed back. I needed the deal to go through at the time."

"He probably wouldn't use the clause unless you were on board with it or felt the danger presented to you warranted it," Jason said, "But I'm getting the feeling that you actually are more than okay with getting out of the shipping company."

"Maybe," Kellie said, "I hate that it leaves Uncle Lo exposed though. If I hadn't of needed the company for leverage, he'd still have it no one any wiser."

"Your uncle has always known he could be exposed at any time as the owner of the company," Jason said, "I know Pikeman has all of us concerned, especially for you. I'm really hoping that you'll let Lorenzo use that clause without argument."

"I had a few arguments," Kellie said, "But nothing that Uncle Lo wasn't prepared for."

"So you'll let Lorenzo have full control of the shipping company then?" Jason asked.

Kellie nodded as Jason pulled Kellie against him in a hug, relieved, and kissed her head.

Several moments later, Kellie and Jason stepped apart.

"So guess this means I have you all to myself tonight." Kellie said, wrapping her arms around Jason's neck.

"It does," Jason said, putting his hands at Kellie's waist, "I brought the bike. I thought maybe we could go for ride. I booked us a room at the MetroCourt."

"That sounds like a very good start," Kellie said, "I might have a few ideas as well. How do you feel about throwing axes?"

"Why would we do that?" Jason asked.

"I'm just going to have to show you," Kellie said before kissing Jason.
