Sorry for my bad English.
It occur to me that I still need to describe the daily outfit of the brunette leader of CNVL, so I will show almost on the beginning of this chapter.
Vale has a big mall right in the center of the town, well known for having anything that anyone, huntsmen or not, can find if look around in any of the stories.
After hearing this, teams RWBY and CNVL, along with the duo, decide to look around on their free day.
Their first stop was in a clothing store.
Chocolat at the moment was looking at a black colored version of her everyday vest.
Her casual outfit consisted of a white leather vest above a brown turtleneck blouse that left her shoulders bare. She also usually wears a leather skirt with a side slit, and don't worry, she wears spats. Brown high heel boots, and before she uses her pistols, she puts on a pair of fingerless gloves.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she liked what she was seeing but preferred her original look.
-It is so expensive. -She heard Blake stated and Chocolat turned around to see what the black-haired girl was talking about.
She and Yang were looking at could be seen as an oriental red dress, with golden patterns and a dragon printed on the chest.
-It is so pretty, but why need to cost so much? -Yang asked.
-Strange. -Chocolat commented approaching the partners. -It didn't cost so much in Mistral.
-It's because it is imported from there, I bet. -Blake theorized. -The store needs to cover the cost of imports.
-It seems cheaper to take a train to Mistral and buy the dress in one of their stores and would leave some money for lunch. -Yang stated, frowning and with her hands on her hips.
-Hey! They have combat gloves here! -The trio heard Ruby shout from the other side of the store.
-Hiya!
*PAM!*
-Ouch! -Jaune whimpered. -Nora!
-Keeheehee, sorry Jaune.
-Combat gloves? -Yang asked. -Show me! - Then went to where her sister was.
Weiss meanwhile, was waiting outside a stall along with Ryan, waiting for Pyrrha. The young champion's style seemed like she was always ready to enter an arena, so she thought about buying more casual outfits.
The door of the stall opened, and Pyrrha walked out wearing a red blouse, a white skirt with a slit that shows she was wearing a pair of black leather boots.
-Oh my Pyrrha. -Weiss began, clapping her hands together. -You look lovely.
-Thank you, Weiss. -Pyrrha said while looking at herself on the full body mirror. -But I was looking for a more casual look.
-It looks casual to me. -Weiss stated.
-It's because you wear elegant clothes daily. -Ryan stated, his voice sounding muffled.
-And what do you know-where he is? -Weiss asked, looking around but the gunslinger was nowhere to be found.
-Ryan? -Pyrrha called.
-Yes? -He answered.
-Where are you?
-Below the pile. -Ryan answered.
Both girls look to a pile of clothes that Weiss took and notices two feet wearing sandals.
-How long we have been here? -Pyrrha asked. -I don't think I did shop this much before.
-Hey, there a white blouse here that would look good on you. -Ryan said, still below the pile of clothes.
Weiss was about to speak when a shirt just went flying and hit her on the face, courtesy of Ruby.
-Ruby, what are you doing? -Ren asked.
-Testing this bra! -Ruby answered sending another shirt flying. -It needs to be practical.
And Ren thought that Nora had some strange quirks.
-I think it is strange. -Chocolat said looking at the keychain in her hand. -They make keychains of little and cute versions of Grimms, the enemies of mankind, hanging on your keys, belts, or even scrolls.
-But they do the same with animals. -Ruby stated.
-Because they are adorable when they are babies. -Chocolat said looking at Ruby. -Did you ever pat a tiger cub?
-How did you even found a tiger cub?! -Ruby asked, then puffed her cheek. -I'm jelly.
-This is fake. -Both girls heard Weiss comment and turn to see the heiress holding a keychain with a blue shining rock. -It's no wonder the price is so low.
-This is an imitation jewelry store. -Spoke Chocolat. -Of course, they will not have real jewelry.
-So why are we even here? -Weiss asked, putting the keychain back where she took.
-It's because is not all of us who can pay one hundred liens for a little shining rock. -Chocolat answered her.
Weiss just huffed and walked to where Pyrrha was. The redhead was looking at a mirror while holding a pair of earrings close to her ears. She never used jewelry before, so everything was new to her. Chocolat uses earrings all the time, except while in the shower or sleeping, and when she questioned her partner about the earrings, the brunette merely answers with "I like it."
Pyrrha did not saw anything special with earrings. It is not like them can make her ears look pretty... or they can?
Meanwhile, not far from Pyrrha, Blake was looking at a pendant with a replica of a moonstone.
-It is pretty. -Blake said.
- I wouldn't mind receiving one as a present. -Yang commented.
-Hmm? Why? -Blake asked. -Did someone catch your attention?
-A lot of boys caught my attention. -Yang answered while looking at the keychains. -But I'm a little tired of dating the same only muscles, no brains guys. It is nice at the beginning but gets boring after some time.
-You don't say. -Blake commented.
-That's why I decide to lay down for a bit while in Beacon. This until... well...
-It is one of the boys we know?
-Look, Jaune seems a nice guy but he's not my type. Ren is too silent and I still want to smash Ryan's face for what he did to my hair.
-You have a strange way to say no. -Blake commented.
-And what about you? -Yang began. -Any boy caught your attention through your books?
Not far from there, Nora dancing in front of a mirror wearing a ton of jewelry.
-I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!
Yes, she found a crown, and Ren had to stop her from conquering the store.
A little far from her.
-Do you think she would like this? -Jaune asked Ryan, showing to him a moon pendant.
-It is a moon or an arc? -Ryan asked.
-What are you asking? Of course, is a moon... I think...
-Jaune, not to hurt your feeling, but it is better not to give Weiss something that reminds her of you.
Jaune did not know what Ryan meant by that and bought the pendant anyway.
-There's anything in this menu that is not swimming in grease? -Weiss asked looking at the menu of the food court.
-I will gladly escort you to a more healthy place to eat if you allow me. -Jaune said offering Weiss a hand.
She huffed and walked away from him.
-Ask her out while hanging out with everyone may not be the best idea. -Ryan commented approaching him.
-Oh c'mon! It wasn't so bad! -Jaune complained.
-No, it was far worst Jauney-Boy. -A voice spoke.
And the duo knew the owner of the voice, since only one person called Jaune by that nickname.
-What do you want, Cardin? -Ryan asked.
-Nothing, actually. -Cardin began. -I was just walking around and a free show just appeared for me. Ten out of ten for you, Jaune-Boy.
-Like you could do any better. -Jaune answered back, bitterly.
Cardin did not react negatively to his comment. He just turns around and walks to a table where a girl was eating alone. He put the hand on the table to call her attention, then lean forward her to whisper something in her ear. The girl covers her mouth for a moment before smile and takes the hand Cardin just offered to her.
Jaune just received a brutal hit on his ego watching the bully walking away with his arm wrapped on the shoulders of a pretty girl, not before give to the blonde a satisfied smirk.
-Ryan. -Jaune began. -I am a bad person?
-Why do you ask?
-Because I feel that the universe just punished me.
Ryan scratches his good cheek, not knowing how to answer.
The rest of the shopping trip went quite well, even with both teams and the duo together.
They went to the karaoke where Chocolat showed how good singer she is, to a dust store where everyone got a discount for Weiss being with them, to an electronic store to check out the latest of electronics, to a book store at Blake's request, and some more.
Weiss was looking at a book about old types of dust she was surprised to find inside an old bookstore, while Ruby was reading a silly comic book, giggling and making hard for Weiss to focus.
It was there that Jaune found another chance to try to have a nice talk with Weiss, and approached the partners.
-Mademoiselle Schnee? -Someone called before Jaune could speak. Ruby and Weiss take their focus away from their books to see Fée approaching them. -I had no idea that you would come to places like this for supplies.
-Normally I don't. -Weiss spoke. -But my teammates and friends insisted and proved to be a nice trip for me. What about you?
-Oh, I always take walks around the public. It reminds me that even with my status, I may be one of them.
-Aww. -Ruby cued. -You spoke just like a princess.
-I've heard that before. -Fée spoke then notices Jaune. -Say, Monsieur Arc, Monsieur Forest is here as well?
-He is in the bathroom right now. -Jaune answered.
-Where did you come from? -Weiss asked.
Before Jaune could answer, Fée spoke again.
-Actually, if you don't mind, I would like to use this opportunity to talk to you about this Challenge you are going through with Monsieur Forest. -Fée said.
-Uhh, sure. -Jaune agreed, not wanting to be rude, but knowing from what Ryan said, that she may be planning something.
-With the due respect Monsieur Arc, aren't you afraid to be an unnecessary weight for Monsieur Forest in this battle?
The question caught him by surprises, such as Ruby and Weiss. The Schnee girl shared her point of view about Jaune, but never spoke because her teammates did not allow her.
-If you are worried that I may make this difficult for him, I'm sure I don't plan to let him do all the work.
-That would be for the best. -Fée spoke putting a hand on her cheek and closing her eyes. -Someone with his skills sure can defeat this challenge.
-His skills are that much? -Weiss asked standing. -I mean no disrespect Fée, but I think you are overestimating Forest's skills.
-I'm sure you Mademoiselle Schnee that this overestimation is well deserved. -Fée spoke. -It is not for everyone that they give the title The Strongest of Vacuo.
-Fée, please. Mr. Forest showed promise in his skills, but I find it hard to believe that-wait a second. THE STRONGEST OF WHAT?! -Weiss couldn't help her voice as Ruby and Jaune's eyes widened.
-Oh, he did not mention? -Fée asked. -Among those who are training to become huntsmen, he currently carries the title of the strongest fighter in Vacuo.
-WHAAAAAT?! -Come to a voice from behind.
The three of them turns back to see Nora standing there, gobsmacked as she let drop from her hands some candies she bought.
-He... didn't tell you? -Fée asked. -I thought he told you that, and that was the reason you accepted the Challenge.
-W-what do you mean? -Jaune asked.
-She means that the only reason you accepted... -Chocolat spoke, approaching them. -... is because you have Vacuo's strongest fighter by your side.
-Je suis désolé if my question bothered you, it is just that I'm worried about what will happen if he returns to Vacuo.
-What do you mean by that? -Ruby asked.
-I'm afraid that one of the reasons he chooses Beacon over Shade was that his many rivals he left behind.
-Many rivals?
-He left many of those who wanted a chance to engage him in battle, but they were left with the wish of a good confrontation when Ryan moved from Vacuo.
-Why did he never tell me that? -Jaune asked more to himself than those around him.
-Fée. -Pyrrha spoke getting the blonde out of his thoughts. -I'm afraid that we must find our friends.
-We do? -Weiss asked.
-Yes, we do! -Pyrrha spoke more forcefully, making Weiss' eyes widen in surprise.
-It was a pleasure to see you Fée. -Chocolat said, pushing the blonde away. It seemed that she and Pyrrha were on the same page.
-I was hoping we could...
-Sorry! Can't do it! Bye! -Chocolat spoke as she disappeared in the corner along with the gang.
As they left, they did not notice the strange smile the white-haired girl had in her face.
-What was that? -Chocolat asked.
-I don't know. -Pyrrha spoke next. -I just don't understand why she would bring something like that out of the blue.
-Yeah, I mean... -Jaune began. -Why did Ryan not told me that he is the strongest of Vacuo.
-First of all Jaune, she said huntsman-in-training. -Ruby corrected him. -Second, I think she probably mentioned that to mess with you.
-But why would she do that? -Jaune asked.
-Remember what Ryan said about her. -Chocolat spoke. -I think she wants to start something.
-Do you think? -Pyrrha asked.
-I don't see any more reason to suddenly reveal something about Ryan that could be a surprise.
-Oh please. -Weiss began. -She probably just thought we already knew about Forest's title.
-If this was the case, she would have stopped talking the moment you made that surprise shout. -Chocolat answered back.
Chocolat was right. At first, even Jaune found it hard to believe in the words of his partner regarding Fée and his past with her, but what reason she could have to bring such a thing out of the blue like that?
At the moment, he did not know why she would reveal Ryan's title in Vacuo, but the best he could do was ignore.
Easier said than done, of course.
Jaune's thoughts regarding the matter were interrupted when he notices that one of his friends was missing.
-Uhh, where's Nora? -He asked.
Ruby, Weiss, Chocolat, and Pyrrha look around after the ginger-haired girl, and Pyrrha spotted her not far from where they were, looking to a fountain as if she was in deep thoughts.
This proved to be a flawed thought when Nora suddenly start to burn with a passion compared to one of those anime protagonists when they heard about a worthy opponent. Before, when he refused her challenges for a fight she would put the thought aside and focus on something else. This time, however, things got a different turn.
In a way or another, she will fight him.
End of the chapter.
I plan to make one more thing to show off Ryan before move on Jaune's development, or I can work on Jaune's first and then focus again on Ryan since I've been doing this a lot lately. I need to remember that this story is about them both, not only one of them, but I can easily be carried away.
Since I realized that the readers don't pay much attention to stories based on OCs, I focused on show more about Ryan's original backstory in this fic, but I need to remember about his own story along the team made of OCs. One of them I want to introduce in this story as well, but I'm having some difficult in how. I mean, this story will have way more OCs given the idea of the story, but I also don't want to fill this only with original characters. I want to try use the best of each one in some way.
Yet, I have decide that the next chapter will involve a original character, or should I say a original thing.
That's all folks. See you next time.
