She will always love running her hands through that head of hair.
It was true when they first were friends, just working together and getting to know each other, and it's just as true now, going on ten years since then, even though what Knight used to call Parker's salt-and-pepper coloring leans a bit too frosty these days. It's more argent, a beautifully metallic sheen—but a soft head of hair nevertheless. And, thinking on it now, Knight slips her hand free from her burgundy coat and reaches for that head of hair, just to comb her fingers through the tresses, knowing Parker won't mind.
The gesture brings his attention right to her, and Parker quirks an eyebrow before he smirks, almost automatically. Because he knows—she's a sly one, she is, Knight, but she's also utterly predictable when it comes to things she likes and her habits, and he's fond of indulging her in these little ministrations when he can, especially on a day like today, a rare day out, a walk amongst the cherry blossoms in D.C., with the spring breeze chasing just enough warmth away, teasing them together, encouraging her to run her fingers through his hair.
He catches that hand, kisses it, eliciting a laugh of joy from her for the bout of spontaneous affection, and twirls her around, catching her in his arms.
And Knight smiles, big, wide, unbridled. She leans back into him, hugging his arms around her. They get older, but they never change.
Parker eyes that beautiful smile, even as her long hair bellows in the wind around them like festival banners—and the sunlight makes some strands glint, the golden ones, the fading ones…because, of course, gold and silver, she's always matching his beat—and he smiles, too, and nuzzles her cheek, content. :D So! I've had a lot of art inspo on pillowfort lately, and I actually ended up making a more realistic, spring-themed Parknight art thanks to that! Partly to use as a cover for the drabble collection on FFN, partly bc I have yet to do a proper spring-themed moodboard for them X'D, and partly to explore a more realistic style in drawing/painting the bbs. :') I had a lot of fun drawing it and just. Loved the end result and knew during the sketch stage that this would also be a drabble/imagine for the parknights sideblog, so #40! :D With the theme of "10/15/etc yrs later, and they're still going strong"…bc Parknight love! :3 On to the next 10 (drabbles/imagines…altho yrs is good imo, too! XD)!
