Sorry for my bad English.
I was planning to post this at a later date, but I wanted to share my opinion about something. It is a spoiler from volume 9 Thank you so much Twitter so I will try be as vague as possible. If you don't want to see, just skip to the story.
Apparently, something become official and I don't know how to feel about it. I have absolutely nothing against it but I have to wonder if this will do something with the plot in a good or bad way. The story got its ups and downs so far and I question if this was a good decision on the part of the writers.
Also, Rooster Teeth asked for the fans to watch the next season on Crunchyroll, which I heard is exclusive to subscribers for a whole year.
Rooster Teeth even asked for the fans to not watch somewhere else but they are breaking my leg with how they are managing the series. I still can't think of a reasonable reason for them to take away the whole series from Youtube.
My good side is telling me to wait a year while my evil side don't judge me is telling me to just watch somewhere else.
At this point, I just want to see the story reaching its end because I'm not as passionate about the series as I was from the first time I watched it.
I will put some thought into it, for now to the fic.
Having a glass of expensive champagne only for himself seemed a waste so to celebrate the duo's victory, Port insisted in share a toast with his co-workers. All of them gladly accepted, except for one.
-For Mr. Arc and Mr. Forest's victory! -Port loudly declared, raising a glass.
-Cheers! -The teachers and the staff cheered, all except for one.
-Glynda, my dear. You're also welcome to this little celebration if you wish so. -Port called her.
-I'm a woman of my word, Port. I will allow you to enjoy your prize. -Was all she said, doing her best to keep the professionalism in her tone.
-She's boiling with anger. -Fernando whispered to Oobleck who nodded.
She could not believe they made it to the third match. She did not doubt Ryan's skills but she was hoping to see Jaune defeated in half the time the match lasted. Yet, he was able to hold his ground, and against students from the second year. She remembers witnessing Ryan helping Jaune in the arena but looking at his skills firsthand, she doubted he would improve this much in such little time.
Of course, the fact she puts Ryan to fight in the arena made her without knowledge of Jaune's skills since his match against Cardin.
But the duo's luck was coming to an end because she was the one who will choose their next opponents and after analyzing their skills, she is already was thinking about who's gonna be their next opponents.
And different from Oobleck and Port, she was going to make sure the Challenge shall live to its name.
After their victory, both teams decide to celebrate in the Feeding Warriors. All agreed that Brick's food was the obvious choice for a victory meal. Both teams, the duo, and even Natsu were together.
Not only that, they were celebrating the little reunion Ruby and Yang had with their cousin.
They were identical to each other, except Milk's hair was more curly than her cousin, and where was red in Ruby's hair, it was pink like Milk's.
Their styles were also different, with Milk wearing a white jeans skirt held by suspenders and a pink blouse and for some reason, she had protection goggles on her head.
Her skin was a bit more tanned and with freckles decorating her cheeks. And for the first time, since they become students, Weiss was glad she got Ruby as a partner. She thought she could not take another Ruby in her life, except that Milk likes to talk. A lot.
-... and ended up exploding. It was not my fault. Really! I made all calculations. It was perfect! Then why did explode? Why, I don't know. I checked from head to toe, except it did not have a head or toes to look at. This saying always confused me, looking from head to toe in a room that doesn't have a head or a toe. Except maybe if have a mannequin decorating. But some mannequins do not have a head or a toe to look at. And why is that? Cutting the budget? Maybe. I mean, if they are only going to use shirts and pants, why make a head or feet? Except if they need the head for the hats. I don't like hats. I am more of a fan of beanies. They can be funny and don't mess so much with a girl's hair. All that time making sure is combed only to a hat messes everything. It is a nightmare. But in the end, I was blamed for the nightmare caused by the explosion, which was not my fault! Could very well have been-
-MILK! -Everyone around screamed at the exactly same time.
-Yes? -Milk asked what was the most normal thing to do.
-Take five. -Her friend said.
-Okay.
-Now, care to share with us what are you doing here in Beacon? -Yang asked. -I don't remember seeing you at the initiation.
-Oh yeah, about that... -Before Milk could ramble even more, her partner, Laura Bolt, interrupted her by covering her mouth with her hand.
-She got some problems in Atlas and was forced to have the initiation later.
-What problem? -Ruby asked tilting her head, then her eyes widened. -Oh don't tell me the fire was your doing!
-Of course not. Actually, I was the one who put out the fire. -Milk answered triumphantly while Weiss start to wonder why people keep putting Atlas on fire.
-So, about your partner... -Yang was about to ask but Milk already began to talk.
-Her name is Laura, she's from Atlas too, she loves tuna sandwiches, she doesn't believe in horoscopes, she does wrestling, she doesn't like potatoes, she's a fan of Rogue's Magazine, she's not good with computers, she has a crush on an upper-classmate, she never exploded something, she's adopted, she...
-Alright Milk, they get it. -Laura interrupted her.
The girl in question had blonde hair and golden eyes and was wearing a yellow jacket with a skirt and a military beret of the same color.
-I pity you for having to deal with her shenanigans. -Weiss said. -Having Ruby as a partner, I know how hard is.
-Hey! -Ruby stated offended.
-It is not so bad especially when she finally shut her mouth. -Laura whispered the last part. -And it is not like we can choose so it is better if we just get along, right?
Both Weiss and Pyrrha agreed with the statement, with Weiss wanting Pyrrha as her partner and the redhead wanting Jaune, but they are learning to work along with Ruby and Chocolat.
And Pyrrha doubted that Jaune was able to deal with Nora the same way Chocolat does.
-So, Forest... -Yang began while Ryan was chewing a turkey sandwich. -... how do you know our cousin again?
For the first time since they arrived, the table went silent, as if everyone was curious about the answer. The gunslinger swallowed his food before answering.
-We met when we were just kids, about the same time I meet Natsu.
-But did you not come from Vacuo, how come you meet them? -Blake asked, her face visible only from her eyes to above, being hidden by her book.
-My mother's partner from her times at Shade is from Atlas, and during a visit, she brought me along. -Ryan's answer seemed to satisfy their curiosity, but Nora still wanted to hear more.
-And how was this meeting? -She asked before putting another pancake in her mouth and begging her childhood friend forgiveness for thinking that Brick's pancakes taste better than his.
-There's not too much to say. I broke some things and brought down others, one was the orphanage Natsu was in, the usual.
-You call bringing down orphanages 'the usual'? -Weiss asked with a raised eyebrow.
-You're a fan of Rogue too? -Chocolat asked Laura.
The blonde girl, seeing an opportunity to engage in a less embarrassing conversation, decide to talk with the leader of CNVL.
And while his answer was able to satisfy his partner, Ren was having second thoughts about it. He couldn't help but felt Ryan was hiding something, and it was not his relationship with Milk and Natsu.
It all comes from the beginning of the year when he heard Jaune had not his aura unlocked, which was strange since it was something needed to get into the academy. He started to wonder why Ryan did not unlock his aura himself being with Jaune a whole day.
Then there is Natsu Hanabi. While he shows to be a well-behaved boy if his way to talk does not show, something about him was strange as well. Ryan said they meet back in Atlas years ago but was quite vague about how they met and about their times together, despite claiming to be friends.
Now the same was happening to Milk, claiming to have met each other in the past but being too vague regarding their interactions.
And finally, there is what he just heard. Wait, that's not right. It is not what he heard, but how he heard.
Ryan just sounded like a different person. The goof tone in his voice was completely absent for a firmer one, something Jaune said to happen sometimes but differently from the blonde, he start to question the reason for that.
Far from their table, Soie, wearing a well-made disguise, listened to their conversation, reporting all to Fée in the academy.
-So, Milk and Laura are in Beacon as well. -She said. -Just come back, Soie. I don't think they can be useful for my plans.
-As you wish, young miss. -Soie said, paying the bill and leaving.
Once out of the restaurant, he turned his radio on once again.
-Did she get what we said? -Fée asked.
-I believe to witness Ms. Belladonna's bow twitch from our words, young miss.
Fée chuckled from the other side of the radio. How come Blake was able to fool so many people with a bow she did not know, but if she can use it to her advantage, she will.
Because now, not only Milk but they will know that Laura is related to Ryan and Natsu as well. The gears in her mind are already working to discover how to use this information.
End of the chapter.
Not so much to say, for now, I wanted to introduce the other two characters to use them in the future. I need to be careful to not added too many OCs to forget those I already made appear.
For the next chapter, I will temporarily give the spotlight to someone else besides the duo, so stay tuned.
See you next time.
