Who Needs Ash?
Ship: Dreamgirlshipping
Summary: Serena may have missed her chance with Ash, but sometimes love comes from the place you least expect.
Serena groaned as the morning sunlight hit her face. She didn't want to get up, but the clock at the side of the bed told her it was time. But when she went to move and turn it off, she found a pair of arms wrapping around her body. She groaned and tried to break free, but her girlfriend kept her grip firm.
"Lisia, honey, it's time to get up!"
"Mmmm ... .nah, I don't wanna."
"Come on, we have to rehearse for our performance!"
"Ah, what's the hurry? We don't have to be there until noon, and I want to cuddle!"
Serena sighed, before settling back down into the covers.
"Fine, but only for a little bit longer."
"Yay!"
Serena rolled her eyes, but relaxed into the embrace as she thought back to how she got here.
Serena watched as the ferry pulled away, taking Ash and his new friends with it. Two years ago, Serena's heart would have ached from saying goodbye, but over time her feelings had changed.
During her first few months in Hoenn, Serena had missed her friends dearly. Clemont, Bonnie, but especially Ash. Sure, she'd kissed him goodbye, but she wished she had told him how she truly felt. At least, she did at first.
As time went on, she thought of Ash less and less. She still missed him, yes, but as time went on she didn't feel the same longing for him. In fact, as time went on the love she felt slowly dimmed into more of a platonic feeling. So as the boat sailed away, her only regret was that she couldn't have told Ash all of that to his face.
"Hey Serena, glad I could catch you!"
Her heart skipped a beat as Lisia approached. While her feelings for Ash had dimmed overtime, she found herself growing attracted to the Pokemon Coordinator. She'd met her not long after she arrived in Hoenn, and it was Lisia who helped get Serena started in the Contest scene. Since then, they'd met up a few times during the contest season, with their current matchup leading to a draw.
At first, Serena didn't know what the feeling in her stomach was. But everytime she saw Lisia, her heart began racing, and she felt lighthearted. It took her a while, but at long last she came to the obvious realization: she was in love with Lisia. Now if only she could tell her…
"Did Chloe leave already?"
"Yeah, she just got on the boat."
Lisia pouted, making it more difficult for Serena to hide her blush.
"Aw! I was hoping to talk to both of you about this great new idea I had!"
"Really? What is it?"
Lisia was too excited to tell her, instead grabbing Serena by the hand and dragging her away.
"Come on, I know this great restaurant where we can talk!"
The restaurant, as it turned out, served Kalosonian food, giving Serena a much needed taste of home. As much as she loved Hoenn, she did feel homesick sometimes. As they ate, Lisia explained her idea to Serena.
"You want to form an idol group?"
Lisia nodded excitedly.
"Think about it! The two of us, putting on shows, making videos, and being inspirations to trainers everywhere! I've already managed to talk another Coordinator into it, but the more the merrier!"
Serena thought for a minute, before nodding.
"Yeah, let's do it!"
"Awesome!" Lisia cheered, clapping her hands. Just then, their waiter came up.
"Can I interest you two ladies in any desert?"
"Oh, good heavens no! I couldn't eat another bite."
"Oh, sure you can!" Lisia interrupted. "Come on, we can share! We'll split the Chocolate Mousse."
"Excellent choice."
The waiter scurried away before Serena could object, leaving her to sit back in her chair and pout.
"Ah, don't be like that! The chocolate mousse here is delicious."
"Well, you shouldn't have made the decision for me."
"Oh, get over it. Trust me, you'll thank me later."
A minute later, the waiter came back with their dessert.
"Enjoy."
"Thanks, we will!"
Lisia handed Serena a spoon.
"Well, don't just sit there! Dig in!"
Serena had to admit, the dessert was delicious, even if her stomach was about to explode. Before long, they got down to the last bite. Lisia scooped it up, before holding out the spoon to Serena.
"Come on, open wide!"
Serena was about to protest being treated like a child, but the moment she opened her mouth Lisia stuck the spoon in her mouth. Defeated, Serena ate it. It was good, but the method of which she ate it was a little humiliating. Although she had to admit, it did feel nice.
"See? I told you you could eat all of it! Now come on, let's go get checked into our hotel."
When they got to the hotel, Serena found another surprise waiting for her: there was only one bed in the room.
"Oh, uh-"
Lisia let out a deep sigh.
"Alright, I guess it's time I came clean: I've set up this whole night so that I can confess my feelings to you."
"Confess your feelings?"
"Isn't it obvious! Sharing dessert, feeding you, the fact that there's only one bed? I've never been one to be subtle."
"B-But why me?"
"Why not? You're hot, your talented, and you and I get along like a house on fire."
Serena just stared in silence for a minute.
"Oh…I guess you don't feel the-"
Before tackling Lisia onto the bed, giving her a deep and passionate kiss.
Ever since then, the two of them had been a happy couple, putting on shows to make the world smile. Lisia had even introduced Serena to another potential idol she had scouted, a Coordinator from Petalburg City named May. Between her new relationship, their idol group, and everything else, Serena had completely forgotten about Ash. Not that she minded at all.
Just then, an idea crept into her mind. With a devious grin, Serena slipped out of her girlfriend's arms and got up, surprising Lisia.
"Babe, what's wrong?"
"Oh, nothing. I just thought it might be a good time for a shower. Although…"
She gave Lisia a sexy wink, making the other girl blush.
"I might get a little lonely in there. Care to join me?"
Lisia smiled, and quickly got up.
"Sounds like fun to me."
Serena smiled. With love like theirs, who needed Ash?
