A Sweet Moment

Ship: Korrina/Bea

Summary: After her Ultra Class match with Ash, Bea goes back to her rigorous training. But that doesn't mean she can't enjoy a snack break with the love of her life.

"One, two! One, two!"

In the stadium of Stow-On-Side, the fighting type gym leader Bea was hard at work, going to town on a punching bag. Her Machamp held it, though even he was straining under her powerful kicks. After a few minutes, Bea stepped back, wiping the sweat from her brow, accepting a water bottle from Hitmontop.

"Thanks, Hitmontop."

"Top!"

Bea sat down on a bench, throwing her head back and gulping down water before getting back up.

Anyone else might consider such a strict training regiment overkill, but for Bea it was barely a warmup. Ever since her loss to Ash, she worked hard day and night to keep not only her team in top shape, but also herself.

She was just about to go back to her workout when she heard a knock at the door.

"Who could be coming here at this time of night?"

"Beabykins!"

Before Bea could answer the door, Korrina rushed in and pulled her into a big hug. Bea rolled her eyes, but smiled and returned it nonetheless.

"I was going to get it for you, you know."

"But you were taking so long! I couldn't wait that long to hold you."

Bea just shook her head, amused.

"What're you doing here, anyway?"

"What? I can't surprise my girlfriend?"

"That's not what I meant, and you know it."

Korrina huffed, and pouted. Bea sighed, and kissed her.

"I'm glad you're here, I just wasn't expecting you."

Korrina smiled, and hugged her even tighter.

"I hope not, otherwise it wouldn't be a surprise! Actually, I had a battle with Gordie, and before I went home I thought I'd stop by."

"You know the rules," Bea said playfully. "No unexpected visits without treats."

Korrina grinned, and pulled out a bag of chocolates.

"Come on, like I would ever forget!"

"Alright then, you may stay."

"Yay!"

The two girls quickly set up a small picnic, where they dug in. Korrina made sure to get enough for their Pokemon as well, and soon everyone was enjoying delicious sweets.

"Mmm, where'd you get these?"

"A new sweet shop opened in Circhester! Melony told me about it, and once I tried some I just knew I had to bring you some. Do you like it?"

"I love it!"

"Good, because here comes the airplane!"

Bea groaned.

"Korrina…"

"Come on, open wide!"

Bea rolled her eyes. Korrina was always wanting to feed her whenever they ate together. But as annoying as it was, she couldn't deny that she loved her for it. So she obliged, allowing her girlfriend to shove the candy in her mouth.

"Was that so hard?"

Bea chuckled as she bit into the creamy center.

"That is good!"

"Told you."

"Now it's your turn!"

Unlike her girlfriend, Korrina needed no convincing, eagerly accepting the candy from her. This went back and forth for a while until all of the candy was eaten, at which point the two fell over laughing in a chocolatey mess.

"Oh man, that hit the spot!"

"I'll say! Thanks for bringing them over, honey."

Korrina chuckled, but then her face fell.

"Korrina, what's wrong?"

"Bea…when are we going to go public? You know, tell other people we're dating?"

Bea fell silent for a minute, before sighing.

"Korrina…you know I love you, right?"

"Do you? Everyone time I want to go on a date, it's always take out in your gym. You're not ashame of me, are you?"

"Of course not, it's just…Galar isn't like other regions."

"I thought Gay marriage was legal here?"

"That's not what I mean. I'm more than just a gym leader here, I'm a celebrity. I'm always being hounded by reporters over every little detail. And if they catch word that I'm dating you, they'll start hounding you too. Your personal life will no longer be your own."

"Oh…"

"Korrina, I love you, I do. But I also don't want you to get hurt. That's the reason why I want our relationship to be a secret."

Korrina remained silent, before pulling her into a close hug.

"Bea…I don't care about any of that. I'm not dating the reporters, I'm dating you. And if that's the price of being your girlfriend, than so be it."

"Really?"

"Of course! Besides, I can easily fight them off. Or if I can't, I know you will."

Bea chuckled, before pulling her into a deep kiss.

"Tell you what, we'll start tomorrow. We'll tell Allister, and work our way up from there."

"I love it, but not as much as I love you!"

Bea smiled, feeling like a huge weight had been lifted off her chest before yawning.

"Aw, is Beabykins feeling sleepy?"

"Oh hush, now come on. I need a pillow."

"You got it!"

As they walked off to bed, Bea couldn't help but smile. Although she was still uncertain of the future, she knew that as long as she had her girlfriend by her side it'd be alright.
