Veilstone Gym Battle
The group has just arrived at Veilstone City where Lincoln's next gym battle, as well as Stella and Dawn's next Pokemon Contest awaits them.
"We're here!" said Lincoln.
"So, what are you going to do first?" asked Sam.
"First, I'm going to find out when the Veilstone Pokemon Contest is and sign up for it." replied Stella.
"Same here; and if it's not today, we can always watch Lincoln's gym battle." said Dawn.
"Assuming the gym leader is there." said Clyde. After getting directions from someone, the group was able to find the Veilstone City Contest Hall; once they do, Stella and Dawn rush inside to sign up for the next contest.
"Thank you." the receptionist said after Stella and Dawn filled out their applications. "The contest will be in two days."
"Thank you." said Stella.
"We'll be here." said Dawn.
After Dawn and Stella sign up, the group exits the contest hall and figure out what they were going to do next.
"Are you going to challenge the Veilstone City gym now, Lincoln?" asked Clyde.
"Sure; we got nothing better to do right now." said Lincoln.
"We should our family know so they can watch, bro." said Luna. Lincoln nods as he uses his Poketch to communicate with his family; a holographic screen pops up, showing his family.
"Hello, son." said Lynn Sr.
"Hi, everyone." said Lincoln. "I'm about to challenge the Veilstone gym."
"Sweet!" said Lynn Jr.
"Do your best, sweetie." said Rita.
"We'll be rooting for you." said Lana.
"You better win!" said Lola.
Lincoln's group asks around for how to get to the Veilstone gym and soon get directions of how to get there.
The group soon finds the gym and head inside; they look around at the interior and saw it looked like a dojo with a battle stadium in the center of it.
"Where's the gym leader?" asked Lincoln. Everyone looks around and soon sees a young girl with short pink hair, wearing a sleeveless, blue and black top, white sweatpants, and no shoes; she also had bandages over the bridge of her nose and on her left bicep, and was in a meditative pose.
"Hello?" said Clyde, making the girl's eyes open up and look at the group.
"Are you the gym leader here?" asked Lincoln.
"I am; you can call me Maylene." replied the girl, now identified as Maylene.
"My name's Lincoln Loud; I'm here to challenge you to a gym battle." said Lincoln.
"Very well." replied Maylene before jumping to her feet.
"Go get her, Lincoln." said Clyde.
"We'll be rooting for you." said Sam. She, Luna, Clyde, Dawn, and Simon walked to a platform that was near the battle arena and sat down on it while Lincoln walked to the end of the battle arena that was on the opposite side of the one Maylene was on.
"This is an official gym battle between the challenger, Lincoln Loud and the Veilstone
City gym leader, Maylene." said an official. "Both trainers will use three Pokemon. Whoever is able to defeat all their opponents Pokemon first will be the winner. Let the battle begin!" Lincoln and Maylene each pull out a pokeball.
"Go, Floatzel!" said Lincoln, throwing Floatzel's pokeball, and releasing him.
"Meditite, go!" said Maylene, throwing a pokeball, and releasing a blue, humanoid Pokemon with a white, onion-shaped head, white wrists, feet, and lower body. Dawn takes out her pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Meditite, the Yoga Pokemon. It never misses its daily yoga workouts, and it heightens its spiritual power through meditation." said Dawn's pokedex.
"Floatzel, use Aqua Jet!" said Lincoln. Floatzel becomes surrounded by water and he flies at Meditite, and rams into it, dealing damage.
"Meditite, Bulk Up!" said Maylene. Meditite becomes surrounded by a red aura and its muscles thicken, raising its attack strength.
"Floatzel, use Swift!" said Lincoln. Floatzel releases multiple stars from his mouth and they hit Meditite, damaging it.
"Meditite, use Drain Punch!" said Maylene. Meditite swings a fist at Floatzel while green energy with white spirals surrounding it, and he punches Floatzel, damaging him, while healing some of Meditite's wounds.
"How did Meditite get healed?" asked Luna.
"Drain Punch heals the Pokemon that used it." replied Maylene. "And because of Meditite's Pure Power ability, her attack strength is doubled."
"That won't stop us, right Floatzel?" asked Lincoln. Floatzel nods in response. "All right, Floatzel, use Double Hit!" Floatzel leaps at Meditite and hits her with his tails, damaging it.
"Meditite, use Force Palm!" said Maylene. Meditite leaps at Floatzel and thrusts her palm into him with great force, knocking Floatzel back.
"Floatzel, use Bite!" said Lincoln. Floatzel leaps at Meditite and bites her, dealing damage, and making her flinch. "Now use Ice Fang!" Floatzel's teeth become covered in ice; he bites Meditite, dealing damage, and encasing her in ice.
"Meditite, try using Low Kick!" said Maylene; Meditite remains frozen.
"Floatzel, use Water Gun!" said Lincoln. Floatzel sprays a stream of water out of his mouth, and it hits Meditite, dealing enough damage, to knock her out.
"Meditite is unable to battle. Floatzel wins the match." said the official.
"Way to go, Lincoln!" said Clyde.
"That was so cool!" said Simon. Back in Royal Woods, everyone was cheering for Lincoln.
"Go, Linky!" cheered Leni.
"I'll admit, that Meditite was tough." said Lynn Jr.
"But Lincoln pulled through." said Lynn Sr. Back at the Veilstone Gym, Maylene returns Meditite to her pokeball.
"You did well, Meditite." said Maylene. She puts Meditite's pokeball away and pulls out another. "Machoke, go!" She throws a pokeball and releases a blue, muscular, humanoid Pokemon with red lines going down its arms, gray ridges on its head, and wearing black briefs and a championship belt.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Sam, pointing her pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Machoke, the Superpower Pokemon, and the evolved form of Machop. It can lift a dump truck with one hand. Using that kind of strength, it helps people do heavy jobs." said Sam's pokedex.
"Floatzel, Aqua Jet!" said Lincoln. Floatzel becomes surrounded by water and he flies at Machoke; he rams into it, making it take a step back.
"Machoke, Low Sweep!" said Maylene. Machoke kicks Floatzel's legs, knocking him to the ground, and dealing damage, along with lowering his speed.
"Floatzel, Ice Fang!" said Lincoln. Floatzel bites Machoke's shoulder with ice covered fangs, dealing damage to it.
"Machoke, use Knock Off!" said Maylene. Machoke's arm becomes surrounded by black electricity and it hits Floatzel with it, knocking him to the ground, unconscious.
"Floatzel is unable to battle. Machoke wins the match." said the official. At the Loud house.
"That's, literally, too bad." said Lori.
"Lori, Lincoln can still turn this around." replied Rita.
"You can do it, Lincoln!" said Lana.
"He'd better!" said Lola. Back at the Veilstone gym, Lincoln returns Floatzel to his pokeball.
"You were great, Floatzel." said Lincoln. He puts Floatzel's pokeball away, and pulls out another. "Espeon, go!" He throws Espeon's pokeball and releases him. "Floatzel, use Psychic!" Espeon's eyes glowed purple and Machoke gets lifted up and slammed onto the arena floor, receiving massive damage due to Espeon's Odd Incense power up his psychic type attacks, and weakening Machoke's defense.
"Machoke, use Knock Off!" said Maylene. Machoke runs at Espeon while black electicity surrounded its arm; it hits Espeon with it, dealing super effective damage, and knocking Espeon's Odd Incense away from him.
"Espeon's Odd Incense!" said Luna.
"Knock Off knocks away an item held by a Pokemon." said Maylene.
"Espeon, Confusion!" said Lincoln. Espeon's eyes glowed light blue; Machoke gets lifted up and thrown down onto the arena floor, dealing super effective damage to it; Machoke gets up, and begins stumbling around.
"What's wrong with Machoke?" asked Simon.
"I think it's confused." replied Sam.
"Machoke, use Bulldoze!" said Maylene. Machoke fights through its confusion and stomps on the floor, releasing a shockwave that hits Espeon, damaging him, and lowering his speed.
"Espeon, use Quick Attack!" said Lincoln. Espeon leaps at Machoke with incredible speed, and rams it in the gut; it stumbles back and falls to the floor with swirly eyes.
"Machoke is unable to battle. Espeon wins the match." said the official.
"All right, Lincoln!" said Clyde.
"You're doing great, little bro!" said Luna.
"I believe in you!" said Dawn.
"I believe in you more!" said Stella, making Dawn glare at her, who glares at her back. Back at the Loud house.
"Lincoln's doing great!" said Luan.
"He just has to defeat Maylene's final Pokemon and our sole male sibling will be the victor." said Lisa.
"Go, Wincoln!" said Lily. Back at the Veilstone gym, Maylene returns Machoke to its pokeball.
"You fought hard, Machoke; you earned a rest." said Maylene. She puts Machoke's pokeball away, and pulls another one from her waist. "You're doing well, Lincoln; but you still have to beat my final Pokemon to win a badge from me."
"I intend to." replied Lincoln.
"Lucario, go!" said Maylene, throwing a pokeball, and releasing a blue, bipedal, caninelike Pokemon with a cream-colored torso with a spike coming out of the center of it, black rings around its shoulders, black hands with a spike on each one, black forelegs, and black appendages hanging down the back of its head. Dawn takes out her pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Lucario, the Aura Pokemon, and the evolved form of Riolu. By sensing the aura emanating from others, it can read their thoughts and movements." said Dawn's pokedex.
"Lucario, use Metal Claw!" said Maylene. The spikes on top of Lucario's paws glowed white and turned into three claws; it leaps at Espeon and slashes him with its claws, dealing damage. Lucario begins surging with energy and its attack strength increases.
"Espeon, use Psychic!" said Lincoln. Espeon's eyes glowed purple; Lucario gets slammed onto the floor, receiving damage, and its defense weakens.
"Use Power-Up Punch!" said Maylene. Lucario charges at Espeon while its paw becomes surrounded by an orange aura and it punches Espeon, dealing enough damage to knock him out.
"Espeon is unable to battle. Lucario wins the match." said the official. Energy surges through Lucario's body and its attack strength increases from Power-Up Punch.
"You can still turn this around, bro!" said Luna.
"Keep battling!" said Sam. Lincoln nods before returning Espeon to his pokeball.
"You were amazing, Espeon." said Lincoln. He puts Espeon's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Infernape!" He throws Infernape's pokeball, and releases him. "Infernape, use Mach Punch!" Infernape moves quickly towards Lucario and lands a solid hit right in its chest, dealing super effective damage.
"Lucario, use Bone Rush!" said Maylene. Lucario puts his hands together and spreads them apart, forming a glowing green bone staff; it runs at Infernape and hits him multiple times, dealing super effective damage with each blow.
"Don't give up, Lincoln!" said Stella.
"Infernape, use Close Combat!" said Lincoln. Infernape runs towards Lucario and lands multiple hits and kicks to it, dealing super effective damage; his body suddenly sags a bit.
"What's wrong with him?" asked Simon.
"Whenever a Pokemon uses Close Combat, its defenses weaken." said Sam.
"Lucario, use Bone Rush again!" said Maylene. Her Lucario runs at Infernape and strikes him repeatedly with its bone staff again, dealing super effective damage; Infernape drops to one knee.
"Hang in there, Infernape!" said Lincoln. As Infernape struggles to get to his feet, his body becomes covered in a red aura; when he finally stands up, the aura flares with such intensity that everyone shields their eyes.
"What's going on?" asked Simon.
"Infernape's Blaze ability!" said Sam.
"Lincoln, now's your chance!" said Dawn.
"Infernape, use Flame Wheel!" said Lincoln. Infernape does a fiery somersault at Lucario and slams into it; and thanks to the power of the move being increased by his Flame Plate and Blaze ability, as well as Lucario's defense being weakened by Espeon's Psychic attack, Infernape's Flame Wheel was strong enough to knock Lucario out.
"Lucario is unable to battle. Infernape is the winner. The winner of the battle is the challenger, Lincoln Loud." said the official.
"You did it, Infernape!" said Lincoln.
"Way to go, bro!" said Luna.
"That was so awesome!" said Clyde.
"Congratulations, Lincoln." said Rita.
"That was intense!" said Lynn Jr.
"Totes!" said Leni. Back with Maylene, she was returning her Lucario to its pokeball.
"You were great, Lucario." said Maylene. She puts her Lucario's pokeball back on her waist and walks over to Lincoln who was just returning his Infernape to his pokeball.
"That was a great match, Lincoln." said Maylene.
"Thanks." said Lincoln. Maylene reaches into her pocket and pulls out an orange, square badge that had four different-sized rectangles on it.
"As proof of your victory, I present you with the Cobble Badge." said Maylene as she gives Lincoln the Cobble Badge, along with pokedollars.
"Yeah! I just won the Cobble Badge!" cheered Lincoln. Lincoln's friends and family cheered; Stella runs to Lincoln and presses her lips hard against Lincoln's, making Dawn growl.
Lincoln has won his third gym badge. What awaits him in the next gym he challenges? Wait and find out as Lincoln's Pokemon journey continues.
