Reaper of Rome chapter 5-the fall and the undaunted
this chapter will cover the aftermath of Aizen's 'death' but from Rukia's view and will cover Ichigo's fight with Zaraki. I will use a new skill for Rukia in this story that hints to her true parentage.
This will cover episodes 32, 34- 40[first part]
I will also add more for Rukia's backstory in this story's canon.
Rukia pov
It was after seeing a flash of light that I remembered something an older girl told me; it was about my father being a blight sailor and my mother playing music. My next memory was when I first met Renji. I met him helping a kid in a candy shop and we started to form a group of kids with spirit energy. We had to eat and helped the others that needed to eat. I remembered when I first learned I needed to eat and that I new soul reaper shared food with me. After that, I figured out how to make filling foods out of grasses. Then I remembered first learning to use spirit energy and learning to catch food.
It was after our friends all died that Renji left to join the soul reaper academy, but I ended up waiting year due but couldn't figure out why I waited. It was like the reason why. Renji ended up waiting for me while moving to another district closer to the Seireitei, but he didn't know why either. It was a year into our time that I was adopted into the Kuchiki family and was forced to leave Renji until I met him on the battlefield.
Ichigo pov
It was after our battle seemed done, Renji got back up and made me promise to save Rukia. I would've done it even if he didn't make me promise but I also knew the next wall I would have to climb was Rukia's brother Byakuya. It was then, he fully passed put then I did. I then woke up underground and soon popped up a piece of my ambrosia candy and tried to get back up to help my friends. but it wasn't long until hit me and said "that candy is some kind of medicine that only words on him that I know of. I tried it and had to spit it out not much later."
Rukia pov
It was what had to be a few days later that I managed to convince the guard feeding me to give me news. I had to sing a song from the living world to do so. I was surprised just how well I could mimic the voice of the singer, but it worked, and I learned that Renji was defeated by a man with strawberry blond hair and that it had to be Ichigo. Then he ended up giving me news for the next day and that Aizen was found murdered and stuck in a building.
I was told some of several of the other soul reapers from my class didn't react well and ended up being locked up. but the killing didn't seem right to me like somebody was setting something up. I didn't know why someone would want to kill Aizen. I knew a few squads hated each other but didn't think that applied to the captains.
Ichigo pov
It was what might have been over a day that I woke up to find Hanataro healing Ganju. I could tell we were both up to max. The healer said to me "whatever medicine you had made it, so I had to do much less healing to you and save some for Ganju. It was after that, Hanataro took a special medicine to give him extra energy to carry on. But the pill didn't seem to do that much at all. At the same time, I wondered how much progress Chad was making to get to Rukia. It was after that we returned to the surface and tried to save Rukia. But when we made it higher up, a huge amount of spirit pressure and wondered who it could be.
As we felt it, I ordered the group to run but could still feel this person's massive energy. it wasn't long until Ganju had to carry the healer of our makeshift group. It wasn't long until I felt the pressure target me like the man person wanted to fight me and me alone. I soon heard a man behind me and his pure intent to kill was nearly made me felt like I was being attacked. When I asked about the man, I soon learned he was Ikkaku's captain and that he wanted to fight me. it wasn't long that the pressure brought down both Ganju and Hanataro fully and I knew the man wanted to face me and me alone.
But the thing that freaked me out most was a pink haired little girl that seemed not affected by my opponent at all. When I got a look at the man, he was tall and have spiky hair. But the girl still made me wonder what she really was. I soon ordered my friends to run, and the captain seemed to care more about fighting me than my mission and let them run. The large man seemed to want to give me an advantage by giving me a free shot. But I didn't trust the man but still made my attack. But I didn't look at the gift horse and prepared to make a move. But on making the attack it seemed to reflect back on me and not hurt the man named Zaraki. As I stared and wondered what was going on until the pink haired girl told me my blade could never cut him due to his much higher spirit pressure and how it protected him. It was then he attacked me. As he did, I wondered how my friends were faring. I had a vision of Chad losing to another captain while showered in flower petals. I just hoped in the battle Chad managed to move the captain with his actions.
It was after that, I started to run in fear, but I didn't expect the man to burst through a wall. I then tried to defend but just got pushed back. I tried to talk myself back into action. But I was too scared, this man was worst than any monster I had faced on my quests. I could cut or stab most of them, but this man was much worse. I could also tell while running Chad wasn't in good shape either. But I was able to tell that he was alive. That gave me the drive to fight back and try to win. I even managed to hurt the man in my next attack. But Zaraki was still full of confidence.
Rukia pov
It was a little later, I got my next update and they said Aizen was beyond saving as well as the fact one of the invaders ended up captured. The guard didn't know which one it was but he knew one was captured.
Ichigo pov
Our next clash showed the pure power Zaraki had and what came of all my roman training. As he blocked and caught my blade, but I was able to get out of his stabbing attack. It was then Zaraki revealed his bells and eye patch were a form of self-handicap. He then revealed his zanpakuto was in a constant sealed state so that gave me that much more confidence. But as soon as I had hoped the man shattered Zangetsu and then stabbed me and left me battered and broken. I tried to move but didn't have the strength to reach for a godly healing candy. It was as I was about to fall, the old man spirit of my blade emerged.
The older man that was the spirit of my sword then asked me "do you want to lose or want to win?" I replied to win, and he dragged me into my inner world. This time my inner world was different, it was still a weird sideways city, but I was able to stand on the side. I had to what was screwed up in my head that the world was like this. The spirit of my sword then tossed me a regular sealed zanpakuto and said, "you aren't worthy to use Zangetsu as you are now." It was then a black and white copy of me showed up and the old man said, "you must take me from yourself." The copy then attacked me with Zangetsu in ways I didn't know I could. The white copy then hinted, I wasn't using Zangetsu right and there are more ways to use it. also, if I learned to use it in more ways, I could overcome Zaraki Kenpachi. I then mentally asked Zangetsu to teach me and then the white copy and I switched blades.
After that, I woke up seeing Kenpachi walking away again and learned time in my inner world didn't pass the same it did in the outside world. I then got up fully healed and started to make several cleaners attacks on the tall man that was Kenpachi. I then kept cutting the man, but he wouldn't fall, and I asked him why he didn't fall. From what the man said "I could tell his mental state was closer to a Norse warrior. Different from a roman way of thinking. It was then the man took off his eyepatch and I could tell it wasn't just to limit his vision the patch served as a power limiter. He showed it was a device to limit his power. but the lack of trusting his blade was still limiting the man's power and the help of mine made all the difference and I was able to get a good hit onto Kenpachi with that power. but he still got a dangerous hit on me. I then looked up before falling to see Kenpachi fall as well but his blade was broken.

I gave Rukia a few new skills and added hints to her parentage but won't get to more of it until later parts of the story.
Ichigo will still need to master his abilities more to deal with other soul reapers and against Kenpachi his demigod skills didn't matter much.
For next week Ichigo and Rukia will finally meet up again as he learns he will need to reach a new level of power to save Rukia as the Seireitei tears itself apart in battle over her
But first Katerina will continue to form more bonds while Shirou learns more about this world and the reason his card was dropped
