Reaper of Rome chapter 26- the turncoats
This chapter will have ichigo return to the living world as the soul reapers battle with the turncoat soul reapers
This chapter will cover 288-293
Some of my own twists will be worked in and changes for length.
Ichigo pov
As I was healed and traveled, I watched the captains clash with the giant espada. but the mad scientist of the group was busy collecting the bodies of the dead arrancar and I just hoped he had a good use for them later. On the way back home, the healer asked me about my battle with Aizen and after I told her, she replied with "you may be our best hope to win the battle. also, if what your mother told me is true her blessings may also aid you against Aizen, if you look at him through the moon you can see his true nature instead of looking through your eyes." She then told me how she met both the roman and Greek sides of my mother but didn't know anything about my brother. But she said, "pretty much every active faction of gods loves the Olympic games and form relations with mortals."
After that, I explained how my bankai worked and she then restored my power to its full strength along with my soul reaper robes as she talked about how the two sides of my mother were different.
I then watched the battle switch over from one against the giant espada to one of the two competing to take down said espada as he kept growing larger and larger. but the two seemed to like the challenge.
Rukia pov
Then I watched into the former friend and former lieutenant of the blind former captain faced him. At the same time Shinji was prepared to face Aizen and I could tell by reading lips that Aizen clearly was waiting for me for some reason. Then the blind captain soon revealed Aizen had tested the Vizard process on him so he could gain a blank faced hollow mask, said mask pissed off the dog faced captain. As the battle went on, I saw the interactions that happened between the three fighters in their pasts and what each meant to each other as the lieutenant overcame his captain only to get stabbed through. That then left the blind turncoat and the dog faced captain to battle. as the dog faced man swore to reveal the truth or end his former friend's life.
As the former friends battled, I could tell Touson was on a power trip as I was able to see how the two became friends and met with Aizen. But the dog faced captain overcame his blind opponent. But at the same time, Aizen drew his blade on Shinji, and I learned Shinji could also manipulate his enemy.
On the other side of the field the friends clashed and Tosen overcame the giant bankai with pure speed. But even with that he damaged the blind captain, but said former captain was able to heal his damage, then prepare to further fight. The dog faced captain soon was ready to kill his former friend. But as soon as he swore to, the blind captain released his hollow form and then changed into a giant bug. I wondered if Ichigo and I could undergo similar changes. I then knew the blind captain could see is this form and showed but cruel he really was.
but the dog headed captain was able to block the newly insect turncoat with ease. But in the next attack the turncoat pushed back the giant bankai. Then on the other side of the battle, Shinji revealed how his bankai worked on Aizen as he seemed to invert the world. then back with the battle between two former friends, the dog head captain could tell his former friend was lost as he overcame the formerly blind soul reaper with ease. In this next move the captain struck a major blow, but the soul reaper turned hollow, got up and struck back. then soon floored the dog faced captain. But the one that landed the final blow ended up being Tosen's former lieutenant, who stabbed then released his blade inside the former captain's head for one last lethal strike.
Then back with Shinji and Aizen, it didn't take long for Aizen to see through the inversion using his own released blade and seemed to defeat Shinji with ease, then at the last-minute Ichigo arrived to save me from a fatal attack from Ichimaru and then Shinji from Aizen. Then he brought the others soul reapers and Vizard to help as well. but Aizen was able to counter Ichigo with ease.
Ichigo pov
My first strike on Aizen failed due to me being scared to use my mask right away. but even after I used my mask, Aizen was able to counter each of my attacks without having to use his released blade. When I clashed with Aizen, I seemed to not be able to hit him. Then Aizen got into my head and started to break my will to fight, the worst part of it was I knew he was right on some level. It was after that Rukia then came to talk to me and then the others came to try and help as well.
The rest of the soul reapers then promised to make an opening for me. each other soul reaper in the group made their preparations and talked to me for an opening. Each then made their attacks while I waited for the perfect opening. But while each prepared their attacks, Ichimaru seemed to just watch on. I wasn't sure what he would do next. each then took their turns to try and make their attacks on Aizen, but nothing seemed to phase him. I knew I had one trick that may work, but I would need the perfect chance to catch him with it. each soon made their attack and had such attacks countered and were brought down. After a few attacks the lazy captain was the one to get a good shot at Aizen. Then with the help of Shinji Toshiro seemed to make another good shot on Aizen. After the smoke cleared, I discovered Aizen replaced himself with another soul reaper and she took all the attacks. I discovered could use the moon to see through Aizen's illusions.
But the trick let Aizen strike more of the soul reaper captains and Vizards down. it was then, I wondered if I really could take Aizen down.

Shorter chapter overall but there wasn't as much to do without including all the bloody details I didn't want to add
I planned this to be longer, but I moved things around
There will be two more chapters left before the heroes arc begins
Next chapter more help with arise to try and stop Aizen
But first Shirou will learn who the mysterious 'Saber face' is from an equally mysterious person
