Reaper of Rome chapter 33 -vampires in the big easy
This chapter will be the in this universe verse on the bount arc. But in a completely different setting
but in a very different setting with different characters helping Ichigo take down the Bount
I will get into more of who as the chapter goes on
I also worked this into the timeline with minimal changes.
Ichigo pov
It was January and Rukia hadn't been back for months but thankfully would check in every week with a quick text with a picture of her in a naughty state and I would send a picture of our giant rabbit. Tsugumi had hired more staff to help in the care of the mansion. It was large enough that my friends could have their own hook up time without alerting them and I made sure signs were on the doors to alert others of people in them. in the time Chad had learned about his older Amazonian sister, and I was surprised he had several amazon women wanting to marry him. but my large friend seemed to have a girl he liked much more. He wouldn't tell me, but his oldest sister was willing to let him talk to said girl and have an amazon as a backup just in case.
It was near the end of January that Pluto came to the camp with a mission for Hazel and I with the option for my team to help. he said to the two of us "there's a problem in the land of your birth my daughter. I need a growing issue in New Orleans, one so dire that many other factions are involved. Those factions are being the Norse and Egyptian factions, and I am having my other son help as well." I then asked him "why do you need my help?" he replied "you are a dormant soul reaper and your mother owes me a few favors. I suspect this problem may be connected to the soul society from a very long time ago, but I need your help and report." He then gave me a card and then said, "give this card to Charon and he bring you to the audience chamber later to report." Now gather your soldiers and prepare to leave tomorrow."
With that, the two of us had to report to Reyna and Frank but the special authority the Praetors had directly over the sixth allowed us to go out without direct senet approval. Frank wanted to go himself but with Reyna keeping the large boy cool, he told me "Make sure to keep Hazel safe." Then Renya asked me "will you use that Christmas present your 'aunts' sent?" I replied with "yes and it should get us across the country in a least a third of the time." That made Hazel look at me and asked, "does she means the other goddesses like Athena and some of the minor goddesses and what is it?" I replied with they could call themselves more like my older sisters but are just former hunters of Artemis I met on my trip across the country. They made me a van that can travel faster that most should."
Then I had Suletta fully explain how the van works and that she had to do some extra work on it herself. After that, I had Hazel stay over at my house as I sent a letter to Jason and hoped he would get it on time to help us with what would likely be a hard battle. I knew we were starting to have issues talking to each other using magical methods, but my soul phone would still work.
After sending the letter to Jason, I called Puck about the issue, and he told me "It's likely vampires but they tend to keep each other under control. It could be a new clan trying to move in and not under the control of the council. The best source will be talking to one of the other clans and offering a little demigod blood, with that the clans should be willing to help of sheer distaste for interlopers. Also, if you get the chance to come to New York, my employer would like to talk with you. You have two more favors without item exchange and call me if you get to New York City. Then he warned me, be careful there have been reported of people stopping by from your home city and New York."
After that we drove to our destination and, but Hazel suggested, we find a hotel and wait for at least her brother Nico to arrive before confronting one of the vampire clans, since he knows about vampires from his travels and the proper ways to talk to them. I replied to her, "I have something else to do as special insurance just in case this problem is what I think it could be." With that I had Hazel set up our hotel rooms as I split my team up to scout the city and set up as I needed them to.
It was on my scouting with Hazel that we found Nico with a blond-haired boy and talked with the two to learn the two boys were dating. Then told I told him the rest of my team was scouting the city as I painted a giant star in a closest and before Nico could ask why I ask, "its insurance incase things go badly." After that, I told him that Jason and Piper should be on the way here as he told me "I have bad news, Apollo is stuck in a mortal body and trying to find a bunch of oracles." I had a vague idea where he would stop and knew I would have to meet up with him at that place very soon. after those three ancient roman emperors including Nero had hit a point of minor godhood and had cut most methods of communication the Greek and roman factions and likely the Egyptian faction was slightly affected as well.
It was then I asked him about the other two factional teams and then the vampires and with that Nico said, "my father gave me items to contact the other parties and told me how to best talk to the vampires." With that the boy fired two flares into the sky and said, "those should draw the two groups back here." I replied "the rest of my group minus Jason and Piper should be at the hotel in an hour. So, let's wait here for them bring the rest to our hotel."
It wasn't much longer that we were greeted by a group made up of a man in a cloak covering his head, a man in almost pure white, a young woman in a hijab and a boy that almost looked like a male version of Annabeth. Nico then asked the group "are you four from the Norse faction and what are you four?" with that we learned they were a dwarf demigod son of Freya, an elf looking for his uncle, and demigod Valkyrie daughter of Loki and a demigod son of Frey.
After that, came a group of three teens along with them a dark-skinned boy and two other teens that looked to me mixed race. I soon called out to them and asked "if you three are from the Egyptian fact, we are some of the members of the other three factions and I have unlimited budget for hotels stay. So come with me and I can set all of you'll places to stay." All of the members came to me and once my friends joined back up, I set us up in a conference room so we could plan the next move."
We then met as a group and detailed each member's names and power set and combat skills. With that Nico spoke and said, "the best group of vampires to talk with are the Greek group the Vrykolakas and Ichigo will do all the talking since they worship the moon goddess Diane." After that Nico told the others how bad it would be if any of them met vampires and soon, we located the vampires and learned from said vampires that the new clan in town was called the Bount and that they had killed three Bount members and injured one very bad but at great lose along a large alliance of vampires throughout the city. They gave me information of the last known lair of the bount and that there were at least six members we would have to fight then. But as we left the base, we had to battle a swarm of strange creatures until we made it to the shielded hotel. I knew after we slept there would be a long battle against these Bount tomorrow.
After getting sleep. We prepared for the hunt and Nico, the Valkyrie girl and Boy fused with Anubis were our hounds. The two could tell when a person died, and their soul didn't pass to lands of the dead. But we ended up tracking the Bount to an old amusement park that was destroyed by a hurricane. We found the group gathering and drinking compressed souls.
When we came closer to the group, they noticed us and different members paired against different bount. We vaguely knew what each bount could do so I had made match ups based on each member of our group. I would try to hold off the leader Jin and hope we didn't do what I was guessing he may do. The man clearly had the scent of the espada that ripped out my heart. Suletta and Hazel would face the old man named Sawatari, Jolyne and Narciso would face the draining flower master Maboshi, Sadie would face the glasses spy master Ugaki, Nico and Anubis would face Yoshino and Magnus and Carter would face the spider master Koga.
I started the battle against Jin and tried to use the mist to aid me but I soon learned the mas was a wind master and would blow away as much mist as I could summon. I was able to use various creatures I could summon to my aid and my blade to hold him off, but I knew I was gonna have an uphill battle and hoped some of the others would be freed up in time.
As I fought that battle, the two girls were struggling against the old man and his space whale doll. But in time Suletta used her stand and Hazel figured out she had to summon cursed gems, and they stuff them into the whale's open mouth. It looked bad as the gem's curse wasn't hitting but as the old man was about to order his doll to strike the girls down, the curse fully took as the man and his doll rotted into nothing.
In the battle with the spy master bount, Sadie was struggling and soon Chad had to help her but even with his help the man would keep escaping attack and them changed into doll into a stone monster that started to crush both people.
In another battlefield Nico and Anubis were struggling against the bount with the fan and sword doll. Her speed and switch between defense and offense was causing the two issues. Then with Magnus and Carter the two were trying against the brutish bount Koga and not making much progress against his doll and his muscles. with Jolyne and her boyfriend their battle against Maboshi got worse as the bount took over Jolyne's body and making the girl nearly kill herself. But before the bount could force Jolyne, Narciso unleashed rage filled charmspeak to knock Jolyne out and went into a very death metal song to force the bount's own doll to kill him and free Jolyne in the process.
It was after that victory, Jason and Piper arrived at my side. I quickly sent Piper to help Sadie as Jason was aiding me and helping me to push the man back. Before Piper could get far, I told her how her brother Narciso won his fight, and she nodded to help Sadie. Then in the battle Magnus and Carter were in the Elf Hearthstone and the Dwarf Blitzen joined to give use magic and artifice to turn the tide against Koga with Magnus's magic sword dealing the fatal blow and he soon headed to aid Nico and Anubis.
It wasn't long into Sadie and Chad's fight that Piper came in to make the difference, she made and opening wide enough that Chad would use his power of Bellona and his arms to strike the man down once and for all. After that, Magnus used his powers of to heal the two death boys and disarm the female warrior. With that the two unleashed their power to drag Yoshino between the Greek and Egyptian underworlds.
With Jason's help we kept pushing the final Bount further and further back, but what we missed was the fact he keeps grabbing souls and with each he grew stronger. He then said as he held what had to be a soul "with the soul of this witch queen, I have all I need to ascend and with the power of the left and the right beast one, I will become beast one myself." Then he devoured the soul in his hands and with that grew two horns and wings much like Ulquiorra did. His skin then became a mix of gold and white and he flew off and said, "I will now blow all life off this planet." With the speed he flew, Jason could catch up and he said, "that man is forcing all the wind spirits to do something bad."
We tried to chase but I could tell the final part of the fight, which left Jason way too tired to even stand properly. I then gathered all the others together and said, "we need to rest for a little bit before plan B, the grand summon." I then looked to the group and asked, "who knows anything about holy grail wars and heroic spirits are?" Sadie rose her hand and said to me "I heard two heroic spirits were the reason a bunch of the desert in Nevada a few months ago turned to glass and a few stadiums in Nashville took major damage." I replied that, my servant and I did some of that damage and fought the two that turned the desert into glass."
I then addressed the group and said "we need to use the original reason the servant system was created for and summon a grand heroic spirit to help take down the beast that Jin became. What I need is several things: first I need the magic uses to donate magical energy to the summoning, I didn't expect a beast to emerge this soon, so I don't have enough to do it myself. Second, I will need Jason to open a hole in the clouds wide enough for moonlight to touch me and third I am going to need something magically connected to an ancient hero." The blond boy Magnus said to me "where do we get a magical relic like that?" but his dwarf friend said, "many Viking heroes have been tied to Frey and his father, your hair should be enough to summon a hero."
With that we had all the pieces and did the grand summoning, out of the circle came a man and a boy that looked like father and son. But they spoke in unison saying "we are grand rider Thorfinn Karlsefni. The current records on humanity split us into but the young avenger and the peaceful explorer. We crossed the seas to discover the land of Vinland. We can pierce any storm to take our master to their destination. We can sense the beast that needs to be defeated. Now master lets take to the seas and prepare for battle."
It was then the two heroes summoned a Viking longship with a full crew that flew through the sky to where Jin was and he said, "this is my noble phantasm 'ship of the great voyage'. It can cross anybody it needs to reach its destination." It was then we got into the ship and used it to ride close to the man turned beast. But to get close enough, Thorfinn had to rescind his grand status and use the boat to get us close enough to attack.
But to finally kill Jin it took the young Thorfinn rejecting his own grand status and so Magnus using his floating sword, Carter, Jason and I could stab the man all at once with our collective weapons and save the day. After the storm ended, the firework of Mardi gras began and we knew peace was restored.
But I knew I had to leave, and the others needed to get home. So I made sure to get my new friends train and bus tickets to their homes as I knew I needed to make it to the Waystation and try to help Apollo before it is too late. I knew vaguely of the oracle near the
Waystation and that I would need to seek a prophecy of who I seek vengeance on.

Next chapter will have Shirou learn of what if happening with the Waystation and what is the fate of apollo and learn who is the enemy causing problems now.
But first Ranma will learn the secrets of his family and gain new powers and friends
