Samus' POV*
It was just another ordinary day in my life—another bounty to help the Federation against space pirates. I thought I would finally get a chance to relax when an emergency message suddenly appeared on my screen: "Code name... Samus? What on earth...?" I began to question it but pushed those thoughts aside and altered my ship's course directly to the location as if it were already on my flight path. Still, I couldn't shake the memory of someone using my name in a coded emergency message before.
After traveling a long distance, I eventually reached the space station, which remained stationary in the void of space. Upon landing my ship in the docking bay, I pulled up the available information about the station. It caught my eye—while scanning the data on the screen, I noticed something: "Sonic the freaking Hedgehog... why is his name here?" I questioned, momentarily perplexed, but then shook it off and proceeded out of my ship in my power suit.
Once outside, my AI computer alerted me to strange and hostile beings on the station. This didn't surprise me; typically, these kinds of situations seemed to follow me wherever I went. However, something about this attack felt off. I was never around this part of the galaxy, so why would these hostile creatures choose to attack now?
As I pondered this, I switched my visor to X-ray mode to scan the area. I detected life signs and realized that while the people who worked at the station were alive, to my horror, they had all been killed by the hostile forces that had come aboard. I began to make my way through the hallways and corridors, blasting each hostile with my arm cannon and jumping over the bodies of the station workers until I reached the main computer room. There, I found a PC that was still on, displaying the message: "Emergency message sent." It was peculiar but not entirely out of the ordinary. That's when I heard a strange noise from beside me. I quickly turned, my arm cannon aimed at the source of the sound.
"SAMUS! WAIT, IT'S ME!" A familiar voice called out. While still aiming, the dark figure then limped over into my sight which caused me to drop my guard.
"It can't be... SONIC?!"
