Hello and welcome to an another experimental fanfic of Megami-ryou no Ryoubo-kun, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, even though the manga already ended two years ago while there's no word yet on a season 2 anime…

I sort of came up with this fic after re-reading the manga online, specifically chapter 39, 40 and 52, which involves Koushi's dad, who abandoned him (in chapter 1 and episode 1), and there I decided to use this as a plot device to have Kiriya COMFORT Koshi in a ROMANTIC way…which would eventually lead to…

Well then, read on and enjoy!

Ch.1: Emotional Slump

Downtown…

The scene shifts at a town somewhere within the city, which is bustling with people, as many are walking and loitering around, shops filled with shoppers whilst restaurants are catering hungry patrons, some are dining in and others ordering take-outs.

Some shops are selling clothes and there are banks accommodating customers who wish to deposit their money while others are transacting, such as opening new accounts and withdrawing money from their ATM cards.

The scene shifts to other areas where shops are open and the merchants are selling their merchandise and are enticing people to buy them in hopes of earning money. It was a typical day and it seems that people today are lively and felt that their lives are full of blessings and couldn't ask for anything more, as some are happy with stable jobs, students studying in the best schools, and more, and some even chatted with one another feeling that today is a good day.

"Hey!"

"Nice day, isn't it?"

"Today is a good day..."

"I love my job..."

"Life is so good..."

"I wish I have a good day..."

"Lots of money..."

"Lots of girls..."

The scene later shifts to a certain area, where business is thriving the area is frequently being besieged by customers which are a mix of adults and teenagers, and they appeared to be avid collectors, as they are looking and buying second-hand items which are technological in nature, and their reasons for patronizing the said shops are purely economical in nature - cheaper prices and practicality.

You can see several shops selling HOT items for cheaper prices, such as smartphones, android tablets and even laptops, and despite being second-hand items, they appeared to be in good working conditions, and some of the customers are willing to buy them as long as their desired items are working fine as well as to save money for budgetary reasons, and the merchants are using subtle means in enticing passing customers.

"Hello...please by our items..."

"They are cheaper..."

"...they are in good working condition..."

"You can try them if you like..."

"I promise you will like them..."

"I promise you will get your money's worth..."

"Here are the items on our display..."

"Pick the one you like..."

The area is thriving and many merchants set up shops to attract passing customers and entice them to buy their products by showing the items and offered cheaper prices while assuring them that the items are in good working condition, and their marketing strategy worked as some passing customers were intrigued after hearing that so e gadgets are being sold in cheaper prices, and they began asking the merchants what items do they sell, and the merchants showed to the customers the items they are selling, ranging from smartphones to android tablets and even laptops.

Then the scene shifts to another nearby shop, where a merchant is also selling second-hand items, but unlike the other shops, this merchant is selling something else and is catering avid collectors, and the scene shifts inside the shop where you can see the items being sold, which turn out to be classic console units and games, all being displayed on the shelves, and one by one you can see the following consoles being on display, which are:

- Nintendo Famicom

- Super Famicom

- Sega Mega Drive

- Game Boy Color

- Game Boy Advance

- Neo Geo

- Sony Playstation

- Sega Saturn

- Nintendo 64

In a matter of minutes customers passed by the shop, and most of them are avid collectors and fans of video games, and they were immediately intrigued by the items on display and they looked at the items, as some appeared to be unaware that such classical consoles actually existed, and they began asking the merchants if those consoles and its games are really something to be owned, which the merchant nodded and assured to them that the classic games are RARE, and are fun to play with, saying that even with popular games today that are released on current consoles, the consoles on display are even COOLER due to its nostalgia factor.

"Are they really cool compared to today's consoles?"

"Yes...they are cool..."

"Seriously?"

"Yes, sir...they are the very first games...and they are the popular ones in its heydays...and they are RARE to find..."

"Hmm..."

"Would you like to try them...?"

"..."

"I promise you will not regret it..."

By then a passing customer passed by the shop, and he appeared to be a businessman in his mid-20's, and saw the items on display and became intrigued by it and went inside the shop, looking at the consoles on display, and began inquiring about which console is the best to purchase, as he is wondering which one he should choose, and the merchant obliges as he patiently explained each of the consoles' abilities and specialties, and soon he recommended to the customer to buy the Super Famicom, saying that aside from having a lot of RARE games, which are in cartridge form, it was the most popular and well-sold consoles in its heydays, and even said that several games are colorful in terms of graphics and that there a lot of popular games to choose from.

The customer appeared to be enticed yet he wanted to be sure, so he asked the merchant to give him a demonstration, and the merchant obliges, and brought out the Super Famicom and attached it to a flat-screen TV and inserted a cartridge and activated it, and the customer watched in awe seeing that the merchant was not lying, and after testing out several games, the customer is pleased and agreed to purchase the console, and the merchant happily obliges as he prepared a box to put the Super Famicom in and said that as his way of showing thanks, he will give 50 Super Famicom games for 70% discount, which the customer is pleased with this.

"Really? You will sell the games at 70% discount?"

"Yes, sir..."

"Thanks!"

"Please choose the games that you like..."

"I'll take these..."

"Here you go..."

"Thanks!"

"Have a good day, sir..."

After that, the customer got what he wanted, paid the merchant and left, and the other customers were awed in seeing that the merchant had sold a popular classic console to an adult, and they began asking the merchant for opinion on which console is the best besides the Super Famicom, and merchant began to show out the other consoles and offered to show its power and the number of games that are available, and after seeing them, the customers lined up and brought out their money and ordered their desired consoles and its games.

"I want the Sega Mega Drive!"

"The Neo Geo!"

"Give me the Nintendo 64!"

"I want the Game Boy Advance!"

"I want the Nintendo Famicom!"

"I want all of it!"

"Everyone...calm down...form a line and I will accommodate you all..."

"Hurry up, then!"

Amid all this, the scene shifts at an area where a construction is taking place, where it shows that a new establishment is being built, where the construction workers are working on it and commented that this place used to be a house which was gutted by a fire last year, and that they heard rumors that a father abandoned his child shortly after.

The construction workers felt sympathetic as they seemingly know who this family is, and wondered if the child abandoned is being cared by other relatives as the father is reportedly nowhere to be found after the fire was put under control and that the child seemingly vanished without a trace.

"So this place used to be a house, huh?"

"Yeah, I used to pass by here and saw a kid…probably around 12 years old…he seems to be a good kid as he seemed to be responsible…"

"But since the fire gutted this house the kid disappeared and the dad's gone…"

"Wonder what happened to them after that…"

"Hope the kid's okay…"

"Yeah…it's been a year…"

"Definitely I'll never abandon my kid…"

"Me too…"

As the construction workers are working, the scene shows that someone was watching and that someone glanced at the construction of the establishment and that person sported a depressed look and slowly walked away, showing that the person is a 13-year old boy, as he used to live in that house before it got burned in a fire and that his dad abandoned him.

Seikan Private Women's College Student Dormitory: Goddess Dorm.

It was 20:00, and "dorm mother"Koshi Nagumojust arrived after staying at school to do a class project, and there he had quite a day, as he had to spend several hours at school helping his classmates in working on the class project which lasted until 19:00, and after that the group left school to head home realizing that it was already this late in the night.

And as Koshi was heading home, he coincidentally came across his old home, which was ravaged by fire last year, and how it led to Koshi being abandoned by his dad, and in turn forced him to miss several weeks of school due to being homeless until meeting Mineru and in turn led to becoming the dorm mother of the Goddess Dormitory.

As Koshi entered, he was greeted by Kiriya, as she told him that she made dinner given that she knows that he would be coming home late due to doing his school project, and Koshi just nodded and greeted her in response, only for Kiriya to notice that Koshi wasn't his usual, cheerful self, his tone was solemn, and she could tell that something emotionally bad happened to him.

As Koshi went to his room, Sutea peered, as she secretly followed him after seeing him accidentally pass by his former home, and there Kiriya motions Sutea to come in but she politely decline and there she tells him what happened a while ago, which made Kiriya look on in concern, especially after recalling how Koshi was rendered homeless and being abandoned since coming to the dorm last year.

"So Koshi accidentally passed by his old home that was burned last year?"

"Yeah…and it's sort of a one-year anniversary kind of thing…"

"And Koshi got upset…?"

"Yeah, but what's even more, Koshi saw a pair of parents carrying their toddler-son…and that ticked Koshi off…his mom died during his childhood…and with his dad abandoning him last year after the fire that burned his home…"

"I see…"

"And that's what's worrying me…"

"…"

"Furthermore…"

Sutea said that she wanted to help him get out if his slump but she felt that Koshi wouldn't be willing to listen, and is worried that he might isolate himself given how he came to hate his dad for abandoning him, and there Kiriya assured to Sutea that she would talk to Koshi and get him to open up and make him realize that the past is the past and that he should focus on the present.

"Okay, Sutea…leave it to me."

"Kiriya…?"

"Let me handle Koshi. I'll talk to him "

"Really…?"

"Yup!"

"I see. I'm counting on you."

"Don't worry about Koshi."

"…"

Hearing this, Sutea nodded as she felt that Kiriya might be able to help Koshi's emotional situation, but then she noticed that the other dorm residents are not around and she asked Kiriya where the others went, which Kiriya said that Atena would be staying over with a classmate's house tonight due to a university project; Frey is on a four-day outing due to a convention for fashion designers; and Mineru is currently attending a seminar for pharmaceutical companies.

Nodding, Sutea decided to head home and let Kiriya deal with Koshi knowing that Kiriya might be the only one who might help, and Sutea left the Goddess Dormitory as she puts her trust towards Kiriya, though she mentally wished that Atena and the others were here as they might also be able to help Koshi overcome his current emotional situation.

About two minutes later, Koshi went down and there Kiriya prepared the food as she tells Koshi to have dinner, saying that he needs to have a full stomach after spending several hours after school, which he nodded though his tone wasn't the usual one that Kiriya would use to hear everyday.

"Oh, Koshi…"

"Yeah…?"

"Dinner is ready…"

"Okay…"

"Better eat up."

"Okay…"

"You had a rough day, so you'll he needing all the energy…"

"Okay…"

Thirty minutes later…

The scene shifts inside the dormitory bathroom where you can see a naked Koshi sitting on a small stool while using a hose and a nozzle to shower himself, as he is still emotionally down because of what happened hours ago, and there a brief flashback scene revealed that as Koshi was heading back to the Goddess Dormitory he happened to see a pair of parents carrying a baby, and the family looked like a happy group.

Koshi gritted his teeth as he felt like he doesn't have a family anymore, as none of his relatives are willing to take him in, while his dad abandoned him and didn't bother trying to look for him, as he never even passed by his middle school to check on him, and now he started to mentally question what did he do to deserve this, as in a few days from now it would be the first anniversary where he was rendered homeless.

By then Kiriya came, as she is going to take a shower, and she is already naked while holding a small towel, only to blink her eyes upon seeing Koshi there, but noticed that he still looked emotionally down and she can guess why, and despite the fact that they are naked, Kiriya decided to talk to Koshi as she finds this as a good opportunity to help him open up such concerns.

There she grabbed another small stool and sat beside Koshi and gently asked him if he's okay, and the 13-year old boy was startled upon realizing that Kiriya is naked, as well as he too is naked, but despite her blushing, she told Koshi what he is thinking as she revealed that Sutea was here about an hour ago and saw what he went through, which Koshi sighed at hearing this.

"Sutea said that…?"

"Yeah…she did…"

"Whatever…"

"Is there something that's…"

"I'm…fine…"

"I can tell that you're not…"

"I…don't want to talk…"

"Koshi…"

To Be Continued...

Hope you liked this chapter, as this takes place during the events of chapter 39 and 40 of the manga, though I sort of adding some new elements here…such as Kiriya choosing to try talking to Koshi while naked inside the dormitory bathroom, which is somewhat a callback from chapter 7 or the Mother Of Goddess Dormitory manga, though it ended in a cliffhanger…
