After Action Report
Thomas grunted as he sat in his safehouse and worked on patching himself up after his dustup with the kid earlier at his target's apartment. Nothing life threatening and he had plenty of experience in fixing himself up during the war and such, not to mention having a pain editor installed, but that doesn't mean that it didn't annoy the hell out of him having to deal with it himself.
It was necessary though, since now he was on Arasaka's radar after his recent failure, Counter Intel even.
Not because he targeted the kid of some of their low-level troopers, but just the fact he struck against the company in a roundabout way and cause he already made himself a bit of a pain in their collectives rears over the years and wanted to see if they couldn't nip it off now. Thomas took that as a compliment, annoying those Japs so much.
Still, he was pissed he wasn't able to track down his target and the kid's partner after he took her out. He certainly tried, but they got out of there fast and held up somewhere dark quickly.
He would have certainly been able to track them down given time, but sadly he didn't have that since the next he heard about his target was that she had been sequestered into Arasaka Tower itself and there was no way Thomas was getting into there on his own, so sadly his revenge would have to be put on pause for now.
He was honestly impressed that the girl's parents were able to get their masters to even let it happen, must have sold their souls to them even more, and even respected them for it. Family should always care for family.
...which is why Thomas still planned to get back against those murderers for going after his little brother. He wasn't even in the game, dammit! What was the fucking point?!
Thomas growled as he took a huff of sedative to relax a bit. Couldn't let himself get too angry or it would ruin his effectiveness.
He'd make a new plan and work that one, maybe go after the parents themselves since they were in the city now and actively hunting him down. Would make his job easier.
At least he wouldn't have to deal with that Jap brat again.
She was good. Damn good.
She almost got the drop on him, would have if it wasn't for his motion detector. Hell, she barely set the damn thing off! Must have had some really high spec lynx paws installed.
Even beyond that she wasn't a damn bad fighter or netrunner, making him go at her the same way he would have fellow vets even. But it was clear she was still green as grass and he had lots of over her, size and weight as well as chrome being a prime example.
Still, he felt a little bad doing a kid like her in like that, tossing her out the window, but it was the fastest way he figured he could end the fight and still try to chase after his target. Also, he didn't want to deal with her possibly years later as she got better as a fighter and became a real danger.
Either way, she was dead and he wasn't. That was all that mattered in the end in this business.
For now he'd law low, make a new plan, heal up, and then once the time was right strike again.
Thomas could be a patient man after all, and he still had a debt to clear.
