It was another Sunday, and the Reverend Tilney gave his usual sermon at the small parish church, with his young wife and ever growing family in the front pews. Very little happened in a small parish like his, and that was just fine. The ebb and flow of the village gossip made for pleasant entertainment on long winter evenings when the children had gone to bed.

This week, as he looked out over the pews, there was someone new in the back row. Two someones, from the look of things; a widow and a child of perhaps ten years old.
