AN1: Fairy Tail 100 Year quest 109 was released May 31/22 and YES it does show the canon explanation of what Laxus Dragon Lacrima is. My story and explanation were released like over a year before that so obvious I had no idea. Naruto's teacher will not be that Thunder Dragon King so Laxus and his Lightning Dragon Slayer magic will not be connected to that Dragon King. (Although I will point out that God Serena ALSO has a Lightning dragon Lacrima. Just saying.
Yes I know the AN has born reposted but I know people will claim I intentionally changing canon to make Naruto 'special' hence why I will just repost the top one for awhile (so people can see I am explaining a plot point).
Fairy Tail 100 Year quest 115 was released. It showed that God Serena survived and the last three of his Dragon Lacrima-Diamond(stone), Flash(Light), dark (unnamed) along with his established other 5-Lightning (thunder), Cavern (Earth), Purgatory (Fire), Sea King (Water), Gale (wind).
For context in this story God Serena will have refined organ (heart) of the Lightning Dragon King (like Laxus did have in canon) and scales/bones from the other Dragons. Hence his Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic will be in general more effective then Laxus but less than Naruto's (as Serena will have a refined organ rather then just some leftover scales enchanted.) And just because Serena and Kirin (the 5th dragon slayer) have their magic from the "Lightning Dragon King" does not mean that Naruto own (through first generation) Lightning Dragon Slayer magic is inferior (a dragon does not need to be king to be strong after all).

AN1: I hope you like Jude being alive in this story. I decided he wouldn't die before the timeskip although he does suggest he did get sick at some point. I decided that I wouldn't write every scene from the flashback for pacing and the fact it's not that important to hear everything in those hours to be shown.
Also, I guess I might as well point it out. Mest hasn't appeared in the story. He does exist but he was not part of the "magic Council invades Tenrou Island" plan which didn't happen in my story. No, I am not going to explain all the ripples that happened due to him not being on Tenrou Island at all. I just wanted to point it out. Yes I realize there is some issues with his character in canon but he isn't just 'wiped from existence' in my story.
ALSO TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! MARCH 6th! I decided to upload this now as a birthday present to you all. I couldn't really get myself to write more then this but it is an update!
Chapter 70 A Quick Trial
"This is boring!" Asuka suddenly cried out as everyone turned from the memory which had paused at Naruto instruction by a snap of his hand.
"Asuka-chan! Don't be rude!" Alzack reprimanded as Asuka pouted cutely.
"I know these are Papa and Mama's friends but they look the same now as they did before!" Asuka complained as she crossed her arms while Bisca sighed.
"I am sorry Naruto. She doesn't mean it. She just doesn't like standing still for too long." Bisca apologized as Asuka continued to pout and shake her head.
Naruto saw Lucy and Mira give sympathetic looks at him while Makarov gave him a look.
'Try to humour her okay?' Naruto read Makarov pleading look as Naruto gave a subtle nod.
"It's alright. Asuka-chan is just like any other child. I suppose seeing hours of my memories would be boring for anu child. I could imagine being lectured for hours by Iruka-Sensei and acting out!" Naruto agreed with good humour as he let out a loud chuckle making Asuka giggle when he patted her head gently.
"He appears to be rather good with child Lucy. He is quite a good man." Jude whispered to Lucy who looked intently at Naruto with fond eyes.
"He has always been that way with Wendy-chan. I suppose he can't help being someone who looks after everyone and he never takes anything too personally." Lucy agreed as she continued to look at Naruto with soft eyes as he flicked his wrist making Sky Dragon Slayer magic brush Asuka's long hair.
Asuka giggles filled the room as Bisca and Alzack gave him thankful looks.
"Don't worry about him. Asuka-chan is kawai after all. Her laughter is more then payment for a few minor tricks." Naruto assured them as he clapped his hands together.
Suddenly a butterfly made of Water chakra formed and flew in the air even waving its wings. This made Asuka squeal in delight as she reached out to grab it. The Butterfly managed to stay just out of Asuka's reach but did let her pat its wings as it flew around her head.
"Mama! Pretty butterfly feels weird! Its so cute! It is flying everywhere!" Asuka chirped as Bisca nodded her head.
"I can see that Asuka-chan. Do you think you should thank Naruto for making it for you?" Bisca suggested as Asuka turned around with a massive smile and grin.
"Thank you Naruto Onii-chan!" Asuka chirped as Naruto grinned back at her.
"Of course, Asuka-chan. Our guild is pretty much family so you are my little sister as far as I am concerned." Naruto assured her as Asuka grabbed her bear and hugged it close to her.
Jude smiled at Naruto's brotherly affection for Asuka before he looked at his daughter out the corner of his eyes.
'Lucy truly loves this boy with all her heart. She has the same love struck eyes I had when I was with my dear Layla.' Jude thought to herself as he felt heartache when he remembered his dear wife died far too young and soon.
Jude then gazed around to see similar looks on several women in the guild making Jude quite surprised.
'It seems Naruto has quite a few admirers not just my dear Lucy. I wonder what will happen. I just hope Lucy doesn't end up with her heart broken.' Jude thought as he saw Mira, Erza, Kinana, Levy, Cana, and Lisanna have similar affectionate looks on their faces they watched Naruto being rather good with kids. Unseen to Jude Mavis herself had the same longing look in her eyes.
"Anyways I will summarize what happens. I had an interview with Jason and decided at that moment this would be the best chance to tell my story from before Fairy Tail." Naruto explained as pulled out his old Konoha headband out of thin air with a puff of smoke.
Nobody missed Naruto look of longing as he gently rubbed the metal plating and the leaf symbol with his thumb.
"Why did you just tell it to Jason especially on live camera? You should have known the Magic Council would have came breathing down you neck the instant they heard." Jude asked carefully as Naruto eyes were soft as he placed the headband around his neck carefully tying it up around.
"I knew eventually someone would learn about my secret one way or another. It was better that I told the story honestly instead of people making their own assumptions and spreading the news on their own. I also was tired of lying even by omission who I was before I came to Earthland. That past is still a part of me as much as my present is." Naruto stated firmly as he locked eyes with Mavis unseen by Jude.
Mavis nodded solemnly as she seemed to look away for a moment.
'I was the one who told him how important it was to hide or at least not reveal his past right away. I am proud he decided on his own when and where he would reveal to the world who he was really was.' Mavis thought with a small smile.
"Anyways Jason jaw dropped when he heard about Earth and that I came from another dimension despite still using the same magic as everyone else here." Naruto continued as he mimicked Jason jaw dropping to make Asuka amused to the point, she clapped cutely getting awes and coos from the females in the group.
"An hour later dozens of Magic Council members stormed in and demanded that we hand over Naruto to the 'authority of the Magic Council or face punishment along with him!'. Of course, we refused as we would never sell one of our own out especially when he has never done anything wrong!" Gildarts added as he put a fist up along with the rest of the guild as Naruto seemed touched at their loyalty looking away with a slight smile.
"What a guild. It seems like a true family. I am glad you ended up here Lucy." Jude told her in awe as Lucy merely nodded with a pleased smile.
"Of course, I knew they would be coming for me so I surrendered myself but I did threaten to send a message to the Magic Council if they arrested anyone else. Talk about pompous. The only way they could arrest me if I did surrender. If they touched any of you guys then that would be bad for the Magic Council." Naruto stated matter of factly as he cracked his knuckles. His expression did appear to be rather cold for a moment making several members like the Guild Masters, Lucy, Erza and Mira to look concerned before a warm casual expression replaced his face like usual.
"Hehe despite their so called 'authority' the guards sent to pick up Naruto looked like they were about to die of heart attacks despite acting tough. The slightest threat from Naruto made them bow their heads as they put Magic Sealing Cuffs on Naruto and went to the Capital." Gildarts stated grumpily along with the rest of the guild.
Naruto waved them off as he yawned.
"They took me to the cells and then a few hours later I got dragged cuffs and all into the Council room. It was really boring hearing them rage out about how I was a foreign invader and how I should be locked up forever. They seemed pretty smug while I had the cuffs on but little did, they know my chakra was not sealed and I could have broken out with muscle strength alone. Probably would have sent the wrong message though revealing I was not actually restrained." Naruto commented with a smirk when Makarov and Gildart sent him a dry look.
"You think? You are lucky that it's pretty much impossible to actually contain you and that the old farts at the Council wouldn't know what to do with you." Makarov snorted making Asuka giggle at the old farts comment much to Bisca and Alzack disapproval with the former Guild Master.
"They spent a half of hour listing my so-called crimes and threat I posed until I was 'allowed to speak'." Naruto stated with a bored expression only compounded by him rolling his eyes at the eye quotes. His team and Mira smirked while Mavis to her credit tried to look in disapproval but had a small smile regardless.
"I asked them to their faces exactly how not being born in Fiore was a crime and if everyone else who immigrated to Fiore was going to share me cell? You should have seen how mad they were as they were frothing at the mouth!" Naruto chortled as the guild looked amused at the idea of the old Magic Council being stumped at Naruto valid concern.
"When they brough up my so-called threat I brought up how I was actively avoiding any sort of damage and all my clients had nothing but positive things to say about me. This only made them madder especially when I pointed out the old Magic Council Etherion Cannon was a weapon of mass destruction and Jellal tricked them to using it for his own purpose." Naruto brought up as Erza winced at the mention of Jellal as Naruto gave her a sympathetic look.
"I am sure they wanted to pin more so called 'crimes' on me but then a messenger popped in with a copy of the New Sorcerer Weekly. The front page had a picture of me being escorted in cuffs by the Magic Council and had the headline 'Naruto Uzumaki admits being from another world but is escorted to jail without a trial? Hero with a heart of Gold is being unjustly prosecuted! In my opinion this is not a form of justice but rather a form of fear!' by Jason!" Naruto revealed as he made a hand sign as an old copy of the same magazine appeared with the title and a picture of a rare frown on Jason face.
While Jude and Asuka looked amazed at the magazine the rest of the guild looked smug at how bad this made the Magic Council look.
"Good old Jason. He might be a tad too excited but he has always been impressed with Fairy Tail. It was nice of him to put the trial to the public when I am sure the Council would have liked to make it quiet and hush hush." Mira noted with a bright smile with Lisanna and Elfman nodding along.
"One member looked ready to tear the messenger to pieces which I thought was abit too much but then more news popped up. A dozen messengers came in with hundreds of angry letters from the people of Magnolia demanding my release and apparently telling stories about all the good things I have done since coming to Fairy Tail." Naruto noted with a knowing smile at the rest of Fairy Tail.
"Haha all we had to do was ask for a few favours and the entire town was in an outrage! We just made sure to send their complaints to the address of the capital. I know they were happy they could help you out my boy!" Gildarts chortled as Naruto rubbed the back of his head.
"I am not that special but I do appreciate the support." Naruto stated modestly as the females giggled and the guys grinned at him.
"Still modest as ever huh Naruto?" Mavis teased as Naruto shrugged his shoulders.
"Of course, to be honest even that might not be enough as the Magic Council are quite set in their ways." Naruto noted making the guild look at him with wide eyes before Naruto eyes softened.
"There was an angry order from the King of Fiore demanding my release and to NEVER arrest me for 'such unfair and unjust reasons'! That made the Magic Council instantly back off as despite their power the King still has the right to dismiss them at his leisure." Naruto revealed before he smiled softly.
"I know I have done a lot but I have a feeling Hisui-chan was the real reason the King intervened on my part. She seemed to be rather fond of me despite our short time together." Naruto acknowledged as Max rubbed the back of his head.
"Still can't believe you are calling the Princess and heir Hisui so informally. It's so bizarre." Max noted as Naruto titled his head.
"Hisui-Hime is a sweet young woman who is extremely kind and pretty. Although it has been 7 years so who knows if she still remembers me. However, I know she would have become a beautiful young woman so I would be happy to meet her again." Naruto noted sweetly as the females looked unimpressed with him with Cana letting out a hearty laugh.
"Are you going to flirt with every woman Naruto-kun?" Kinana asked with a cute pout as Naruto laughed.
"I just like being honest especially now that I can admit my Ninja origins in Earthland." Naruto insisted before snapping his fingers.
"Then the Magic Council reluctantly with gritted teeth cleared me of all charges. They 'generously' removed my Magic Cuffs as ai gave them a mocking bow to return to Magnolia. The rest is history as the Sorcerer Weekly Article was long but honest about me. It helped give people no reason to fear me anymore then if I was a natural born wizard. Jason really came through publishing the article as soon as possible." Naruto finished his story.
"Yay that was so cool Onii-chan!" Asuka chirped as Bisca and Alzack agreed with their daughter.
"Haha indeed! We made sure to celebrate Naruto's return with a party! One more huzzah before we went to Tenrou Island for the exams! You should have seen how worried Mira-chan was! I was almost certain she was going to go to the Magic Council herself and tear them a new one!" Makarov noted with a chuckle as Mira gave an adorable blush making men like Wakaba get heart shaped eyes even as Lisanna and Erza glare at him heatedly.
"Master Makarov! You shouldn't tell Naruto-kun things like that…." Mira whined as she looked nervously at the ground with her hands behind her back swaying on her feet.
Naruto smiled brightly as he stepped forward lifting Mira's head up by gently holding her by her chin making Mira blink as their blue eyes stared at each other. Mira face turned scarlet when Naruto gave her a quick peck on the cheek as he used the hand that was on her chin to hold her by left waist. His other hand rubbed her right hand by her wrist gently rubbing her flower shaped bracelet.
"Thanks Mira. It feels nice to have people worry about me. It's having people like you to worry about me like that which is why I wasn't worried one bit no matter what the Magic Council decided for me." Naruto told her sweetly as Mira gasped but didn't move back from Naruto's embrace.
"Naruto-kun…. I will always be here for you no matter where you are or what you decide to do." Mira promised him as they stared into each other's eyes for a minute.
"Kissy! Mira-Nee-chan and Naruto-Onii-chan should kiss like Mama and Papa do!" Asuka cheered as her parents slapped their faces in embarrassment.
"Haha Asuka-chan has the right idea! Naruto and Mira-chan should kiss!" Gildarts chortled along with the majority of the guild except for Wakaba who hung his head in defeat. The girls that liked Naruto frowned but decided to let Mira have her moment while Elfman was crying 'manly tears' to Lisanna embarrassment.
Jude looked between Naruto who was rubbing his head in embarrassment, the blushing beautiful Mirajane and his own daughter who pouted but did not seem angry.
'Is Lucy really okay with Naruto flirting with other women?' Jude thought to himself knowing his sweet Layla would have skinned him alive if he was interested in another woman although he would have never strayed. Hi heart ached when he thought of the love of his life but he felt resolve knowing their daughter and greatest treasure was alive and willing to give him a chance to be part of her life.
'Plus, my daughter is gorgeous! How is she not enough? Naruto should be happy that my daughter would want to give her heart!' Jude thought indignantly in fatherly pride for his daughter before he blinked pushing that down.
'This is Lucy's life. I am here to support her not force my opinion on her like I did before making matches for her that I thought benefited her.' Jude realized with regret.
"It doesn't work like that Asuka-chan. Even your own parents had to go their own pace to have you. That is the power of love. The essence of magic and origin of magic." Naruto said cheerfully as Mavis blinked before a small sad smile appeared on her face.
'Essence of magic huh. That's true although what love is to people can be misinterpreted and lead to suffering and loss. Like with Him.' Mavis thought as an imagine of her and Zeref only kiss caused her body to nearly completely die due to her feelings being admiration more then true love.
"But True love is something you know with all your heart and something you can feel just being near someone." Mavis mused as Gildarts looked over at his much smaller predecessor.
"Huh? Did you say something Mavis-sama?" Gildarts asked as Mavis sad smile was replaced with true smile as she shook her head.
"It's just reflection in my old age. Being here with you all reminds me what Fairy Tail was meant to be. A home for a family of people who didn't have true families of their own so they could band together to be each other's family. Naruto is true representation of that idea." Mavis explained as her green eyes shone with happiness as she watched Naruto use Sky Dragon magic to lift Asuka's hat off her head and gently hover just out of her reach.
Gildarts nodded as he watched Naruto playfully keep Asuka's hat just out of the young girl arms before he laughed as he flicked his left wrist making the hat return to Asuka's head and mess up her hair getting tons of giggles to fill the room. All the females cooed at the display while the men grinned at the display as Asuka clapped her hands happily.
Meanwhile Mira was fanning her face as her blush slowly simmered down to a light pink on her pretty cheeks. Lisanna and Elfman walked her to over to a table while Naruto was playing older brother to Asuka.
"Naruto-kun would make a wonderful father…. I mean he is a great older brother to Asuka-chan!" Mira stated fondly squeaking when Lisanna gave her a teasing smile.
"Father huh. Naruto-kun will be a great dad and you sound pretty happy about that Mira-Nee. Are you perhaps thinking of your own future? Maybe someone to share it with?" Lisanna suggested with a teasing wink as Mira gave a humph and pout.
"I have never particularly made my interest in Naruto-kun hidden. If anything, I feel I am the one who has shown at least in public the most open interest in him. So if you are trying to suggest I wouldn't be happy with Naruto-kun as my husband as some sort of teasing then you are sadly going to be disappointed Lissanna." Mira noted crossing her arms under her large chest.
"Pooey. You are no fun. You are not like Lucy who gets so flustered when anyone especially Cana teases her about her feelings for Naruto-kun." Lisanna pouted before she looked over at Naruto with longing expression herself.
Mira raised an eyebrow looking between a distracted Naruto and a longing Lisanna with focused eyes.
'Oh? Does Lisanna like or love Naruto-kun as well? I suppose I can't blame her as it seems a lot of women here have feelings for him and he makes it so easy to fall in love with him. He really doesn't try to impress us he just does by being himself.' Mira thought fondly as she mentally shrugged.
'Unlike a lot of women, I don't mind sharing Naruto-kun's heart. I realized I am happier being a part of his life then trying to make him secretly miserable trying to hold onto it for myself.' Mira decided as a small smile crept up her beautiful face.
Elfman despite what he portrayed was pretty smart when it came to his sisters as he saw the writing on the wall with their longing expressions towards Naruto.
'If it was anyone else besides Naruto, I would show Mira and Lisanna these boys are NOT men! However, Naruto has proven himself over and over again as a true man of honour! If he becomes my brother-in-law then I would only feel honoured at the end of the day. Plus, Mira and Lisanna are their own women and can make their own choices at the end of the day.' Elfman decided to himself with a vow.
Max looked around before he focused on Gildarts who raised an eyebrow.
"What's up? Do you need something?" Gildarts asked as Max shifted on his feet nervously.
"I was thinking Master Gildarts. Now that you guys are all back maybe we can discuss the Grand Magic Games?" Max asked as the members of Fairy Tail who were not on Tenrou Island perked up at his suggestion.
"Sorry? Grand Magic Games? What's that?" Gildarts asked as the rest of the Tenrou Island members also looked confused at the term.
Max and Macao shared a look of realization as Max clapped his hands together.
"Sorry. I forgot. You guys wouldn't know about it as it popped up while you slept. A few years ago, there was a new contest or rather competition to decide who was the strongest Guild in Fiore. Of course, since you guys were… gone… We have never won the contest despite it being held once a year or so. It happens in the capital city Crocus where guilds can compete and whoever wins is considered the strongest guild!" Max explained excitedly as the Tenrou Island members looked interested in the idea.
"Oh? That does sound interesting. I guess we aren't the strongest guild in Fiore anymore despite our strongest members returning?" Gildarts suggested as Macao sighed but nodded.
"We aren't bottom bottom but we did struggle to get by without you guys. Nobody takes us very seriously anymore but if we win the Grand Magic Games this year with our returned members then people will know how great Fairy Tail is again!" Macao exclaimed as Natsu and Gray grinned.
"Oh no worries! We just need to go there and show them why we are number One! Easy way to get respect back!" Natsu stated with a fist pump into the air.
"Um Natsu-san… Wouldn't everyone have that same mentality? Don't you think other wizards gotten stronger in the 7 years we were asleep? I don't think we can just assume we are number one anymore because we were back then." Wendy pointed out as Natsu gave an 'oh' expression and clapped his fists together.
"Yeah, its pretty insane. We didn't slouch during the 7 years but the people we had left are no match for other guilds like Blue Pegasus or Lamia Scale! They are far stronger than they were 7 years ago! Even you guys probably would be surprised at how strong they gotten!" Bisca warned as Lucy and Wendy seemed to have identical looks of fear.
Erza tilted her head before looking at Bisca with a raised eyebrow.
"If we are only in the middle who is the strongest guild currently in Fiore? I suppose its whoever won the Grand Magic Games last year?" Erza asked while Juvia placed a hand on her chin.
"Is it Blue Pegasus or Lamia Scale? I know they were rather formidable when we took down Oración Seis together 7 years ago." Juvia asked as Wendy pouted.
"You mean Sensei took down Oración Seis by himself pretty much. Sorry! I just spoke my mind out!" Wendy pouted before she blushed and waved her hands in front of her cutely.
"Hehe Wendy-chan sure has confidence in my strength. It's rather nice and sweet how much you believe in me." Naruto noted sweetly as Wendy swayed on her feet.
The guild awed and laughed at the cute interaction before Kinana coughed into her hands.
"To answer your question Eza-san. Neither of those guilds won the Grand Magic Games last year although they both ranked highly in the ranking. The one who won was a Guild Called Sabertooth." Kinana noted as the Non Tenrou Island Members looked nervous and hung their heads down.
"Who? What kind of guild is that? I never heard of them." Gray asked bluntly as he looked around and the Tenrou Island members shrugged their shoulders.
"Their symbol looks like a Tiger and they have been called Tigers like our Guild is called Fairies." Alzack added helpfully as Mavis looked interested at the comparison.
"To be honest I don't think anyone heard of Sabertooth. They weren't well known like Fairy Tail or formerly Phantom Lord. However recently they got 5 members who were strong enough to push them to the top. I don't know much about their members but I heard they are all S-class Wizards with their Master being someone ruling with an Iron Fist." Droy noted as Naruto narrowed his eyes.
"Iron Fist huh. I have a feeling we won't get along with them. That ideology is against what we stand for in Fairy Tail. I am sure to them we are just a bunch of misfits but these misfits are our family." Naruto noted darkly as his Team looked at him with concern.
"Well said Naruto! We would never reject someone on something as abstract as 'strength'! It's about character and friendship and comrades!" Makarov cheered along with Mavis.
Lucy smiled before nervously rubbing the back of her head.
"If it was strength being the requirement I probably would not been able to join. Good thing Fairy Tail is a bunch of lovable goofballs more then anything. I wouldn't trade being in this guild for any even if we are not the top guild." Lucy admitted smiling softly.
Erza sighed before she smothered Lucy into her white shirt covered chest making Lucy squirm and blush in embarrassment.
"Lucy. You are just as much a valued member of our guild and especially team as anyone here is. Don't ever doubt your place here or think you are not good enough. I or rather we will never let you think you don't belong with us." Erza told her sternly before her brown eyes softened with kindness.
"Thanks Erza-san. I know and I am happy this is where I belong." Lucy told her warmly as she smiled despite her face being smothered in Erza's own large chest.
Erza smiled as she released Lucy only to give her a more even hug as they were face to face. Mira and the women smiled at the interaction. While a few men seemed to have red faces full of excitement to see two beautiful busty women hug until Naruto gave them the stink eye making them whistle nervously. Jude smiled at how accepted Lucy was and gave an approving smile at Naruto protective nature.
Mira giggled into her hand as she gestured to Lisanna who eagerly came closer so Mira could whisper into her ear.
"Lucy has grown up so much since she first came here. When she first came here, she actually was abit of fangirl. It seemed she was a fan of Sorcerer Weekly and read a few of my bikini spreads. It was actually very cute and sweet how nervous she was! She even blushed when I greeted her as an equal!" Mira whispered as Lisanna gave a cute giggle as well.
"Aw that is so sweet Mira-Nee! I remembered that although I was abit more focused on trying to figure out if Naruto-kun was my secret saviour or not to focus on Lucy too much! We are quite the oddball family of wizards but I am glad we are all here together now." Lisanna noted as Mira nodded before she gazed at Naruto with a look of longing again.
"It was quite the first day. Naruto-kun also showed what kind of man he was that day. He held me in his arms to protect me from a glass bottle from hitting me. I am not saying it would have hurt much but I still felt safe in his arms even back then. I am not sure it was love back then but he did make quite the first impression on me." Mira admitted as Lisanna also looked at Naruto with look of affection.
'Back then I thought of Naruto-kun as some sort of hero or big brother figure but I guess time has changed my feelings as well. I guess Kinana-chan was right. I think I could stand having part of his heart rather then trying to change him and make him not the man I am in love with.' Lisanna decided.
Levy turned to Jet and Droy who were looking at her with hearts in their eyes.
"Um you guys still…." Levy started knowing of their crush on her before she sighed.
'I was kinda hoping 7 years without me here would make them move on. They aren't bad guys or anything it's just I don't feel the same way as they do and I don't want to lead them on.' Levy thought sourly.
"Anyways. Are there any rules we need to know about before we register? Is it just a battle competition or battle royale?" Levy asked as Jet and Droy shook their heads.
"First thing is no Guild Master may register so that means Master Gildarts is out, 5 members per team must register and the rules change each year so no one really knows what to expect." Jet informed the guild.
Gildarts gave a hearty laugh before he waved his hand cheerfully.
"It's alright. I don't think I would have accepted being in the games even if I wasn't Guild Master. It's not my kind of thing although I think you youngsters would have fun competing." Gildarts commented as Cana let out a sigh.
"Should have expected it. Plus, the Old Man is better at destroying things so he might be too destructive for the games." Cana teased as Gildart's head dropped at his daughter comment.
"Master er…. Makarov-sama would you compete? You are no longer the master after all and you have that experience and strong magic?" Kinana asked sweetly as Makarov blushed at her beauty for a moment. His eyes drifted to her now very large breasts and wide hips for a moment.
"Sorry my dear but I am also not looking forward to roughing it in these sorts of competitions. I am abit too old and would rather cheer you on like Gildarts." Makarov coughed when Naruto eye twitched.
Jude looked at Kinana and Naruto narrowing his eyes.
'Is she another young woman interested in Naruto and hence my Lucy's rival in love?' Jude thought to himself.
Cana tapped her glass against the table as everyone turned to her.
"Well, that's no problem. We just need 5 members who aren't Guild Masters right? We can have Naruto, Laxus, Erza, Mira and one more and that is already 4 S-class wizards on one team! We can sweep the competition! If Mystogan was still here he could be number 5 but we can find a 5th person surely, right?" Cana suggested as the guild perked up at her suggestion.
Erza and Mira seemed to have staredown while Laxus cracked his neck with a small smile. Meanwhile Naruto closed his eyes with a look of contemplation.
"Oh! You are allowed for substitutes in case someone is incapable of doing competitions but it's mostly up to the 5 main members to compete and win. You are allowed to use the substitute in the main events as well." Laki added as an afterthought.
"Maybe Juvia or Gajeel could be the 5th slot as they were former S-class wizards during their Phantom Lord era?" Max suggested as Juvia had a look of depression.
"But Juvia wants to compete on Gray-sama's team…" Juvia mumbled as Gray gave her a look of exasperation.
"We don't need to do everything together! This isn't going to a walk in the park!" Gray stated while Juvia head rested on the table.
"Ghehe! This could be fun! I could show them the terror of the Iron Dragon Gajeel!" Gajeel claimed with a maniacal chuckle getting sweatdrops from the guild.
"What do you think Naruto?" Lucy asked Naruto who opened his eyes.
"Hmmm… I guess we will see what happens. I am not sure what the best team would be." Naruto stated non committedly making Erza and Lucy give him a look of surprise.
'Hmmm… I am guessing the games are not based on sheer strength or power. The rounds must test more aspects then sheer battles based on what Jet said. Having all of our S-class wizards as a team might actually be a detriment.' Naruto thought keeping his face neutral.
'Besides Gildarts and Makarov not being allowed or choosing to not compete. We have 4 S-class wizards besides Mystogan who is still in Edolas ruling. Erza, Mira-chan, Laxus and myself. I haven't gone on any real jobs besides the one with Mira-chan and nothing with Laxus. Erza and I work well together since we have been on the same team for awhile. However, I can recognize that Erza and Mira-chan are still rivals and likely do not work well together as a team.' Naruto analyzed seeing sparks between Erza and Mira's eyes.
Naruto briefly turned to the rest of the guild before focusing on Natsu.
'Based on sheer strength I think Natsu would be the 5th choice if we are going on strength-based criteria. Tue Gajeel and Gray rival him in strength but when his emotions get riled up Natsu strength can surprise even S-class wizards. However, Natsu would want to constantly prove himself against Laxus so they would not be a great team together.' Naruto summarized before a smirk appeared on his face briefly.
'Ironically Laxus and Mira have nothing to prove to each other so they could work together as team. While Erza and I can keep Natsu focused so this 5-person team would be better as two separate teams with other people filling in the gaps.' Naruto mused finding the irony funny.
"I want to be in the games!" Natsu whined while Happy patted him on the back sympathetically.
"How much time before the games start? Maybe we can decide on the team when its closer to the date?" Wendy suggested as the guild nodded towards the blue haired girl.
"Just over 3 months. I guess it worked out you guys woke up now. We have a few months before the games happen so you guys can get back into shape." Macao stated as he seemed to be doing the math in his head as he used his hands to count the days.
"Hey! What do you mean get back into shape? I will have you know that I always at my peak!" Gray claimed as Juvia eyes shone into the shape of her heart.
"Gray-sama! I agree! You are as perfect now as you have always been!" Juvia claimed as Carla sighed.
"That is not what he meant Juvia… You really have tunnel vision when it comes to Gray." Carla noted as Wendy gave a nervous chuckle but nodded.
"Gray…. Everyone. Did you not notice the fight with Naruto and Natsu? Naruto was holding back like usual but even with the Lightning Flame Dragon Mode Natsu had during his fight with Hades, Natsu burned through his magic quicker then before. Mavis-sama was right that our strength has gotten somewhat weaker due to our long nap." Erza lectured as Natsu looked down with his fist clenched.
"I know. I do feel rusty looking back but with 3 months of training I know we can make Fairy Tail the best again!" Natsu yelled as the guild raised their arms in agreement.
"Aye sir!" The Guild yelled in unison with Jude sitting at a table and smiling to himself.
"A true family indeed. I am glad my little girl found what she is looking for here. I am grateful for you all for welcoming Lucy to the guild." Jude thanked them with a bow to his waist.
"Father…. Thanks for saying that. I am glad you are back in my life again. Even if we have to take it slow in rebuilding our relationship." Lucy replied back softly as Jude gave her a grateful smile.
"Perhaps we can call it a day? A lot of things happened including reunions with our Tenou Island family and even a family reunion with Lucy and her father? We can adjourn tomorrow as I think we deserves a few days off from jobs just to get back into the grove of things?" Gildarts suggested as Guild Master.
Everyone nodded as Jude quickly scribbled something onto a piece of paper.
"My Lucy. Here is my address. I know where you still live so if you want to contact me you can walk to my place anytime. Or even just a letter if you don't feel comfortable going to my place in person. I think we can start slow and maybe one day we can grab dinner but only when you are ready." Jude suggested softly handing her his address.
Lucy seemed to be slightly teary eyed as she took the paper gently.
"Hai Father. I would like that someday. Thanks for reaching out today." Lucy told her grateful father who nodded.
Jude bowed to the guild once again as he walked out with a notably happy expression.
Erza bumped her shoulder against the smiling Lucy.
"I am glad you are trying your best with your father Lucy. I can realize now that Naruto and Wendy giving him a chance was the right choice." Erza admitted as Lucy nodded slightly.
