Gamer V becomes canon

V stared at the floating menu. Stats, Health, Rockerboy… "What the hell did you put in, Vik?"

"What?" he wheeled over. After a fumbled explanation and some tests, Vik said, "Maybe it's part of the withdrawal from Arasaka chrome?"

V twitched. The betrayal was still fresh. "Where'd you get this chrome?"

"Section Nine; their stuff is standard chrome you get anywhere. And I scan them before plugging them into patients."

"Procedures?"

"The standard when someone is dying on my chair. Surgery, blood transfusion— oh." At the glare, Vik furrowed his brow. "I used Motoko's blood. You were having severe withdrawal symptoms from biomons and you were bleeding fast. Motoko was there and pretty happy to give you some."

V took a moment. She has vague memories of the kid and Jackie dragging her to a car during some shootout. She'd probably treat Jackie and the kid later… but how? She has no eddies to spare since the… incident. Damn it, she has to restart her life.

But shit, she has to thank the kid with words doesn't she?

Shaking her head from the horrifying prospect, V asked, "What does the kid's blood have to do with this?"

Vik hesitated. "I'll call her. Patient confidentiality."

Motoko raced out as safely as she could in her Quadra. V has the Gamer Menu? Does that mean that having that interface is canon?! If V had it prior to the heist that's probably why she wasn't as surprised during the mission… although why she stayed at level 1 for months is a question.

But Motoko is here! She can teach V to progress beyond level 1 so that she'll be even more badass when the heist starts! And Motoko has it first… which means that Motoko needs to teach how it goes to V. Which means that V… is Motoko's kohai!

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Motoko squealed in excitement.

In Vik's office, both doctor and patient shivered in dread.

Outtake 1:

For some reason, the kid was wearing a trench coat and shades when she arrived. With a solemn look— which V wouldn't admit unnerved her — the normally smiley girl opened her palms.

Motoko's deep husky voice added to the eerie atmosphere, "V, all I'm offering is the truth, nothing more. So choose."

She opened her right palm. "You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe."

She opened her other palm. "You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes."

Outtake 2:

"Motoko, aren't you forgetting one side effect?" Vik raised an eyebrow.

Motoko cocked her head. "Side effect?"

Vik sighed. "Call your sister down, kid."

Motoko pouted. "She's not a side effect!" But her eyes glowed for a call.

Vik raised his hands in apology, but lowly muttered, "Judge for yourself, V."

Confused, V turned her head to the coming footsteps. The door opened, and the girl who entered… was another Motoko. "What the…?"

"This is Motwoko!"

Vik just sighed. "Just be careful if you opted for a major chrome upgrade. We might get another V."

I'm aware of mistakes, may or may not correct them later ️. Also IDK Motoko's blood type but roll with it!
