Short chapter and this does end on a (partial) cliffhanger.

A good five-ish minutes later Mizuki finished rummaging around their closet and presented before her a stack of clothes, itwas similar to their clothes, but instead ofbeingdark greens and grays, it was different varying shades of browns. It definitely matched her. "Enanan~ Youare zoning out!"

"N-No I'm not!" She yanked (softly took) the clothes out of their arms and walked off into the cottage bathroom. As she walked off they called to her, "You can just leave your clothes in the clothes basket,I'll washitwhen I wash clothes next...if you're still here by then."

About 10 minutes later she emerged from the bathroom, which was very clean and full of flowers (obviously), ittook her a good minute to figure out the layering on the clothes. Surprisingly enough, the clothes fit her perfectly...almost tooperfect...ohwell, maybe it's just a coincidence.

Ena walked into the kitchen for the second time today. Mizuki had finished making the soup, or whatever hermits eat for breakfast, and was scooping it into looked into the bowl they pushed across the counter; it looked mushy andkind ofgross."W-what is this?" "It's oatmeal, silly. " - "Oh, it looks a little...funky"

Mizuki gasped, faking an offended tone and facial expression.

"Is Enananreallycalling my cooking 'funky'?!"

"N-no...it just looks a little, y'know, mushy."

"You're so mean, Enanan!"

"I'm not being rude if it's true."

"But you haven't even triedittttyetttttt!"

"ugh- fine I'lltryit, but if it's nasty and I spit it out, that's onyou."

She grabbed the wooden spoon,distrustingly, she'snever eaten with a wooden utensil,the Shinonome family was too good for that, shedidn't want splinters in her mouth. Plus the "oatmeal" looked soggy, and she wasn't in the mood for mushy food at the moment.

She gently scooped the oatmeal out of the bowl and brought itupto her mouth with shaky hands. It looked rather disgusting (to her, as she's used to her extravagant yogurts and parfaits). However, it smelled divine: a mix of vanilla with strawberries and an underlying hint of blueberry and banana. She hesitantly took the first bite. At first, her body immediately wanted to spit it out, as it was warm and mushy, though after a few seconds, she got used to it. It wasn'ttoobad, a little too much milk, but overall, edible.

Mizuki had already halfway finished theirownbowl. They werepretty mucheating it like it was their last meal. They looked up at her, catching her gaze, swallowing the food in theirmouth.

"hmm?What'chalookin' at Enanan?"

"Nothing,hmp."

She looked away from them and ate another spoonful of the oatmeal.

After about half anhour-ishof chatting and eating breakfast, Ena surprisingly got seconds, theyhad migrated back into the living room.

"So...how long are you planning to stay, Enanan?"

"Uhm...I don't know...I mean, I kinda don't have anywhere to go, so-"

"So that means you can stay as a temporary roommate?!"

"...sure, I guess."

"Yippie!I haven't had anyone else stay here sincewell...the incident...But that's beside the point!"

"W-what's the inci-"

Just as Ena was about to ask about what Mizuki meant by "the incident",a knock was heard at the front door, so obviouslyMizuki went to gocheck it out,Ena followed behind, keeping at least a 3-foot distance behind them.

Mizuki opened the door,behindsaiddoor was a partially short girl with a wide-brimmed hat and modest had long white hair and lashes, her eyes were as blue as the sky. She had a soft voice as she spoke up.

"Mizuki...I lost Mafuyu again..."

Ah, so she was friends with Mizuki? Was the Mafuyu she was mentioning perhaps Mafuyu Asahina?

"Again? Isn't this the second time this week?"

"Yeah...she just...wanders off...when I'm not looking"

Mizuki sighed, though not in an irritated way.

"Okay then-"

Mizuki turned around to Ena

"Enanan, this is Kanade"

Then to Kanade

"Kana, this is Ena"

And that's how they got to where they are now, the 3of them, Ena, Mizuki, and Kanade looking for this "Mafuyu" who apparently Kanade "lost".Ena was wondering how the hell you "lose" a wholeentirehuman being, and apparently according to Mizuki, this happens on a regular basis to be fair, the girl lookedabsolutelytired.

They had checked all of the "normal" places where Mafuyu would wander off to,asmall cave by a river, a clearing in the trees with a field of blue flowers,there was only one place left to check,a small lake, small enough to be considered a pond, which is exactly where they were heading to check next.
