A/N: So hoped you all enjoyed that little shocker ending last chapter...because now it's time to show how much Reverse of Arcadia has changed up me writing some of these stories. XD Though, still having issues at one point...I swear I need like a Night Fury hack or a Dragon Booster hack 'cause I just can't complete the obstacle preventing me from finishing the game... Well, enough rambling, and time for the next part of my (current) outline!

Disclaimer: I do not own Pokémon nor Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. Both go to their respective owners. I only claim my OCs. Also prepare the soap for Ren's potty mouth.

Chapter 5- Threats:

(Ren's POV)

Several weeks came and went. I started heading out with AJ once my grounding was over with. Despite a few hiccups and disagreements, we were able to make everything go smoothly. Once all of my injuries had healed up entirely, AJ focused on finding us a spot that we could hunker down in. She managed to find a place close enough to walk to Yusei's place and would also have a decent spot for her to start growing the berry seeds she still had in her pack. Thankfully, she found some flower pots that were in good condition and grew them in those. Probably a good thing the seeds grew bushes of berries and not the trees.

All the Pokémon that were a part of Joan and Nana's grew healed up fully. A good portion of them decided to stay at Martha's, though AJ and I come by to drop off the grown berries so there would be enough for them to eat. The rest came with us, including Joan, Nana, and Dash. AJ tried to see if the 'Dex had any clue what Dash was, but all that came up was an error message when it scanned him. What was weirder was also the fact that, despite both of us being able to understand Pokémon, Dash was the one we couldn't read. He made up for that with shaking or nodding his head for yes or no questions, and making motions if he was wanting something. That, and Joan and Nana seemed to know exactly what he tried to indicate.

Riki, Mazin, and Storm were getting stronger with training alongside AJ's partners. Riki was getting better at controlling his fire, something he wanted to work on after learning about one of the kids Martha watches over had trauma with fire. Storm went from only having Electro Ball for an Electric-type move to using Thunderbolt. Star aided in that a lot, shrugging off his hits when being his practice buddy. Mazin trained with Pulse, AJ's Glaceon, and started adding in Shadow Ball to his arsenal. He also was thinking of wanting to evolve pretty soon, looking a bit at the Water Stone that AJ had on hand for an option for him (Storm called dibs on the Thunder Stone but said he wanted to work on himself first before deciding to evolve; though Mazin did say he didn't want to have to deal with such spiky fur all the time, too).

On a different note, AJ and I got to meet more of Yusei's friends: Rally, Tank, Nervin, and Blitz. AJ did most of the explaining again, since compared to me she still had all her mind intact. Apparently, it wasn't needed too much since Yusei had told them beforehand. That, and Dash followed him around a few times (guess that's why he would be gone every once in a while and come back not long after).

After some time, I started heading to the hangout more than tagging with AJ. She was fine with it as long as I made it back before dark and don't wander around too much. I also started to help find any extra parts of Yusei's Runner, though there wasn't much left to build on. I wasn't too good with machines, but with help from my partners I could at least find any parts if I had an idea of what it looked like. Most of the time, I was with the others looking for parts which was the more preferred way. But sometimes there wasn't anyone to go with, soo...

"Shiiiit shit shit shit shit!" I cursed as I ran down the road, clutching the bag to my side. Mazin was running alongside with me as we were chased down by a group of thugs. Since Mazin didn't look too scary, they decided to take their chance since I had 'trespassed' on their turf.

"I told you we should have waited!" Mazin yelled at me as he made a jump up at one turn and got onto my shoulder.

"Less talking, more running!"

As I rounded into an alley, I skidded to a stop when I realized too late that it was a dead-end. Unfortunately, more bad news came when our pursuers came up behind, looking pleased that I had nowhere else to turn to.

"End of the line, kid," one sneered.

"Now, why don't you hand over that bad and we'll-" The second didn't get a chance to finish as a loud dragon roar echoed through the air.

With a loud bang, Titus landed in front of us, cutting the pursuers off. He let out another roar as AJ hopped off to allow him to swing his tail and knock the guys on their asses. After feeling the solid hit, they scrambled to their feet and ran for the hills. "And don't you dare come back!" Titus added, not that they could really understand.

"Ohhh, thank Arceus," Mazin sighed in relief.

A smack to my shoulder made me yelp a bit. "I thought you said you were with Yusei and the others today," she said in a scolding tone.

"I was! I mean, still am, but everyone had to leave for the plant and I figured I could at least surprise them with some things while they were gone," I responded, pulling open my bag.

AJ sighed heavily. "Ren..."

"I know, I know. Stupid move. I just...well, wanted to try to make up for everything and all..."

She turned up to the clouds. Even with it mostly blocked out, we could make out a bit of the light shining behind it. "Okay, you said they left not long ago? Let's head for our place and wait for them to be let out. I need a bit of help checking on the berries and our little roommates. Maybe also drop a few of the ripe berries off at Crow's."

"Okay."

"At least I don't have to keep trying to be intimidating any longer," Mazin muttered as he slipped off my shoulder. "If I was going to be doing that, I'd have become an Umbreon."

AJ recalled Titus since he would stick out too much with us walking down the streets, though I'm pretty sure by now word has gotten around of the two siblings with real monsters had to have spread all over. Thankfully, we hadn't had a close run-in with this Sector Security or anything. We did usually avoid any of their usual patrolled areas as best we could, and having what was essentially a dragon would not help our case much. Mazin was less likely to draw attention.

Despite things being calm, there had been times when my dreams were the total opposite. Maybe 'dreams' was the wrong word. More like...visions? Of the past? That was the only thing I could call them, as I tended to see things through different eyes. But I could never really control what I saw, nor when it took place. And sometimes...there were ones that caused me to wake up in fright and the scar on my chest and stomach would start to hurt. Those I couldn't quite remember when I woke up, but there was always that nagging deep in my mind that felt like I should know what was in them. So why couldn't I?

As we walked down the streets, sometimes passing by people every once in a while, I decided to speak up about the latest one. "Hey, AJ? I think I saw more of my past," I said.

"Oh...you did?" she responded. There was always a strange edge to her voice when I told her. Like...her voice was close to breaking.

"I mean, it was still a bit hazy, but...I saw a couple of friends we knew. Or, I guess know is the better word? It's not like they're gone forever, yeah? I was talking with a guy I believe was my age, though I guess I was younger since my voice sounded a bit different. He had kind of long silver hair and purple eyes?"

"Eric, yeah. You two were...definitely the odd pair of best friends. Opposites in personality, and yet still clicking."

"Yeah yeah. And there was another. A girl, this time. Uhh...I think also my age, maybe slightly younger but not very? Very loud, short-ish purple hair...oh! And I remember kind of amber eyes."

"That's Jazz. Also a close friend, but you two tended to have competitions off and on a lot. Usually in pranking each other."

"Yeah...gosh, imagine if they were here. Pretty sure Jazz and Crow would definitely get along great!"

"Oh Arceus, pretty sure they'd have all of Security after both of them, and you'd be joining right after them."

"Only depends on what the prank is."

She sighed dramatically. "Can you at least let me keep my hair as it is? I'd rather not have gray hairs until decades from now."

"Hey, I'm not planning anything. It was just an imagined scenario."

"And I already feel it creeping down my back at the thought." We reached our own hideout soon enough. She pushed the door open, Mazin and I trailing right after and shutting it behind us.

Our little abode wasn't much, but it was working for us. AJ had the pots sat where they would get enough light and all, usually to help them grow faster as they tend to grow whether there was much sunlight or not. Most of them were Lum and Sitrus Berry bushes as that was the majority she had on hand, but she had saved a few others which included Pecha. She went over to the pots first, giving a check on the leaves and buds before grabbing the watering can on the ground and watering each pot.

Dash was over in the corner snoozing with a few of the Pokémon resting on or next to him. Two of which were, of course, Joan and Nana. "Still sleeping, Dash?" I teased when I saw him open one eye.

"Rrriiigiaaaaa," he yawned. Even with the scary-looking teeth, he hardly drew blood when biting and if someone let out a small 'ow,' he'd let go and look like a kicked Lillipup with his apologetic look.

"All right, all right. You've obviously done a lot today. I'll leave you alone."

"Hey, napping is important to us dragons," Joan retorted from her resting place on Dash's shoulders. "We gotta make sure we got enough raw power to defeat our foes."

"Mm-hmm, yeah, I can so see that."

"Ren, can you quit having arguments with them and help me over here?" AJ called from her corner.

"Coming, sis!" I set my bag down and went over to where she had the already plucked ripe berries boxed up. "Which is which, again?"

"The two bigger boxes go to Martha's and Crow's places. I already got the seeds removed so they won't have to worry about that. This one-" She tapped the box to her right. "-I'll go take to the market, see if maybe I can hand them out."

"You sure it's safe?"

"I already asked. It should be safe. If any Security come snooping, I'll zip out of there on Titus before they get anywhere near my stand. Might also drop off some to Jack's while I'm thinking of it. Kite likes to hang around there."

"Still surprised on that, considering he wasn't thrilled with her hopping on his shoulder in the first place."

"Hey, I'm not going to argue with what a Pokémon decides they want to do. As long as he doesn't mistreat her, it should be fine."

"I guess." I lifted up one of the boxes onto the nearby table. "So drop all these off and then swing back to Yusei's?"

"Yeah, that should give the guys time to get finished and back there. Don't forget your bag."

"Oh, right!"

(No One's POV)

"Everything looks to be healing up nicely, even with the early jump to this world," the biker woman commented. "Pretty soon, even the bandages won't be needed."

"That's a relief," Ellis replied, letting the edge of his shirt drop as he got it readjusted from her checkup. "So that means I'll be able to join Aly and Ren, right?"

"Let's just focus on making sure there's no hiccups on your healing for the moment. Everything is still very delicate, and the less risk to your health the better."

He sighed. "Fine."

"Co Coco!"

"Snea Sneasel!"

The two looked over to where the noises were coming from. Specter was busy chasing the strange colored Sneasel. The Pokémon had healed up from whatever had ailed her and her energy had gotten back up. "I still don't understand how a Pokémon that had gone extinct could be around during the modern day."

"Most likely pulled by one of my old colleagues. I wouldn't put it past them to not just pull from the same machine that brought about Pokémon from possible futures."

He lifted a hand unconsciously to a point in his chest, clutching his shirt. You don't have to tell me about what those can be capable of. If it wasn't for her...I'd... A crash broke him from his thoughts, blue eyes lifting up at the noise.

The noise had also spooked Specter and the Sneasel, the pair of them rushing for Ellis and his companion. "Dammit, don't tell me we're compromised!" She made a run for the table which held Poké Balls of different varieties.

Ellis lifted himself from his seat, letting a slight grunt out at the slight strain. Something's off. If the people Lesli mentioned are so dangerous, why would they make a mistake and announce their presence so haphazardly? Unless... "Wait, don't!"

"What? What is-"

"It's not an enemy. I think...it's a friend." The source of the noise soon came around the corner. A small, pink creature with large blue eyes and a long thin tail floated several feet away from them. It tilted its head curiously at them.

"Mew?" it chirped.

"Is...Is that...what I think it is?"

"A Mew..." Ellis breathed, stunned at seeing the small Pokémon.

It closed its eyes, spinning head over heels in the air. "Mew Mew!"

"But that's...I can't ever recall anything like..." The digital eyes on the helmet blinked rapidly at the situation in front of them.

"Considering everything's that happened, the only thing that would really shock me out of my mind is if we had Arceus themselves in front us." Ellis took a step to the Mew as it spun and twirled. "Are you...here to help us?"

"Mew Mew." The Pokémon nodded. Not sure if this is a miracle from Arceus, or just happenstance. At this point, maybe a bit of help from a Legendary couldn't hurt at this point in time.

"Thank you. We could use the help."

"I really hate to damper this, but if you're going to reunite with your siblings, won't they question why you happen to have the being that has all the DNA and is rarely ever seen?" Lesli pointed out. "Even in your world, it'd stick out too much."

"That's...true." But what can we do to make sure of that? Wait...maybe...I know it'd never replace her, but maybe it'd be a good idea to have a little something from the past to help ease things. "Mew, I want to ask a favor."

"Mew..?"

"We've got some dangerous people on our backs that could come after us, so it might be a good idea to disguise yourself." He reached into his pocket, pulling out a crumbled photo. It had a younger version of him with a yellow mouse-like Pokémon, a Pikachu, on his shoulder. "If you're willing, can you try to look like this?" He pointed to the Pokémon. "It could help keep your identity secret to them for the time."

Mew floated closer to the picture, taking a good look at it. Then, with a flash of multi-colored light, the Mew was gone from in front of them and the same Pokémon in the photo stood in front of them. "Pi Pikachu!"

"Hmm...well, guess that settles that little problem. As long as it stays hidden in this form out in the open, they won't know we have that kind of power on our side."

Ellis put the photo back in his pocket. I know it's not her. No amount of wishing could ever bring her back. But, at least for a time, I can try to act like nothing's changed or been lost. "Well, welcome back...Para," he said as he bent down and petted the Pikachu on the head.

"Chaa."

Ren helped with AJ's trips before she dropped him off at Yusei's, though made sure to tell them what Ren had been up to when they left. I already told my piece on what Ren got into, but Yusei tends to word things better than I could, she thought as she continued her walk through the streets. It's a bit...nice to have someone be able to talk with Ren so easily. Wish there was someone that could have done that back in our world after...

Her steps slowed a bit as her mind wandered. No, even before what happened to Ellis, I should have been a better sister to Ren. I should have been there for him when he needed someone...anyone to hear him. To try to help him figure out what was going on. But I didn't. I listened to someone who just used me and threw me away once they were done. I don't blame Ren for what he said. It was true, even when I wanted to deny it.

She paused before getting near the market. I should be happy to hear Ren's regaining his memories. Slowly, but they're still coming back. I'm not sure what's keeping things so locked up, though. He'll remember the bad parts, too, and I need to be ready to apologize to him even if he won't fully accept it. At least he does have someone to go to when that eventually happens. That's at something good at coming to an unknown world. But...even with that looming over the horizon...what exactly caused his full memory wipe? I don't think even what he went through should have caused that. Did...Did it have to do with-?

AJ's thoughts were cut off when she accidentally bumped into another person with her shoulder, causing her to drop the box. "Ah, sorry. I wasn't paying attention," she said as she bent down to get the box and a few spilled contents.

"That's quite all right. No harm done," the person responded. AJ froze. From a young age, she had a bit of a sixth sense of being able to tell when someone had abilities to hers like other psychics from her world. But there was more than that she was feeling. Something...dark.

AJ glanced up at the man she had bumped into. Compared to some of the other people around Satellite, he looked a bit too...well-dressed. His maroon hair covered one eye, and despite the smile on his face, she had a feeling that she couldn't trust this man. She was sure if Star was outside her ball right about now, she'd be hopping around and shouting, 'Bad human! Bad human!' "Um...can I...help you?" She noticed he wore a Duel Disk on his arm as well.

"Actually, yes, I believe you can. You see, I had heard rumors of a young woman that could bring out real monsters around here. You wouldn't happen to have heard anything about that, would you?"

Keep calm, AJ. Don't let this guy get to you. "No, I wouldn't. I thought the only ones were from holograms and cartoons." She kept her voice leveled, not letting any of her nervousness show.

"Hmm, are you sure? You haven't heard a single thing about it?"

"Nope, just a simple girl trying to sell her wares and keep my head down."

"Ah, I see. My apologizes, then. I shouldn't keep you from your work." AJ let a mental sigh of relief, feeling like she was in the clear. That was, until...she heard what sounded like the Duel Disk activating. "You know, it's a bit of a rookie mistake letting your powers leak out, AJ."

Immediately, she dropped the box and let the contents spill out as she clasped a hand over one of the capsules on her belt, letting the Pokémon out. A red armored humanoid bug came in-between AJ and what was about to strike her, using its claws to knock the sword out of the man's grasp. As soon as it hit the ground, it de-materialized. What the hell? When did he pull that out?! He wasn't wearing anything like that on his person. And what was with that surge of energy just a second ago? She glared as the man started to chuckle. "Who are you? How the hell do you know my name?!" she growled.

"Oh, where are my manners. My name is Sayer. I'm from the Arcadia Movement. I didn't mean to alarm you, but I had been alerted of a rather strange occurrence and just had to check it out. Imagine my surprise to see not just a psychic but one with monsters at their command without the need of a Duel Disk! You must be quite powerful."

"Sorry, but I don't exactly tend to look favorably at someone trying to sneak an attack on me while I'm going about my normal day. And neither does Claws, here."

"Sci...zor," the Pokémon said, getting in a defensive stance between AJ and the stranger.

"Easy now. I was wanting to talk to you and invite you into my group. Many people aren't too accepting of psychics and hate what they don't understand. You wouldn't have to keep hiding away here, and you'll be around others like you. Doesn't that sound nice?"

"Yeah no. I'm not exactly too welcoming around 'others like me.' Besides, I don't really care what people outside my circle really think about me. Now if you're done holding me up from what I was doing, I've got other things to do today before it gets too late." AJ didn't try to recall her partner just yet, in the off chance he tried again to attack her while her back was turned.

"I see. I suppose that circle includes that scarred boy that's always tailing after you?" AJ went stiff at what he said. "He's important to you, yes? It would be rather tragic if something were to happen to him, then."

The teen started to feel the same energy bubbling up in her that she had felt back during her trip abroad in Sinnoh. A power she hadn't tapped into for a few years. Underneath her and Claws, the shadows seemed to shift a bit as if they were a living creature. She whirled on the strange man, a snarl coming from deep in her throat. "You touch one hair on my brother's head, and no one will find your bones!" There was a deeper twinge to her voice as she finished her threat. Claws put a pincer on her shoulder in an attempt to try to keep her calmed down.

Whether it fazed him was lost on the two as his smirk widened. "Ah, there's that power I was sensing. It seems that you're not as in control as you believe you are. I can help you be able to control that power. Don't you want that, at the very least?"

"I don't want nor need your help!" AJ felt the power slither back to its original place, her normal voice returning as she fought for control again.

"Sci Scizor, Sci," Claws protested, pulling up his other pincer to keep AJ grounded. She knew the gist of what he said. "He's not worth it, don't lose it."

"How about a deal, then. If you come with me and join the Arcadia Movement, work on your abilities with me, and your brother will live his life safe and content. If not, well, it's not like Security really looks too deep into matters here in the Satellite. People tend to go missing all the time, after all." He turned to start walking away. "I wouldn't keep me waiting too long, though. Accidents can happen whether you're prepared or not."

AJ tried to wrench forward and go after him only to be pulled back by the Scizor still holding a grip on her. Thankfully, the dark energy had fully settled back down, but AJ's thoughts were still focused on that barely disguised threat on Ren's well-being. What do I do? If I refuse his 'offer,' Ren's life will be in danger again. But if I go...who will look after Ren? Make sure he's actually safe? I can't leave him to face things without aid again. As strong as his partners are, they can't always cover his back. There needs to be someone that can fully talk to him, support him in ways his Pokémon can't.

"Sci..?" Claws murmured, his face coming into AJ's line of sight.

"What am I going to do, Claws..?" she whimpered in reply, dropping the box she was holding and covering her face with her hands. "If I stay, he's in danger. If I go, I'm abandoning him again. No matter what choice I make, it's going to hurt him..."

A/N: I think I'm really going to need a bunker at this point to hide in...

So, yeah, Sayer comes in and ruins things (but what else is new). And as to why Ellis happens to have a Mew...let's say I did a Scarlet playthrough while a certain raid event was going on. Hey, free Mew, right? No, I never named them as I'm bad at names for the most part (kind of trying not to use the usual random name generator as a lot of them, while having neat meanings and interesting history tied to the names, I can't fully pronounce them; only reason 'Mazin' stayed because of a inside joke that pops into my brain).

As far as when this takes place in the YGO 5D's timeline...it's only maybe a couple weeks before Jack takes Yusei's first Runner, so still a bit before the actual part of the story hits. It'll get to present day soon, don't worry. Just gotta build up to it, ya know?

Also, bit of a random question, but out of all the Pokémon that's known (up to this point in time), which ones would make up the main characters' (of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, not my OCs) teams? I'm curious to hear people's personal ideas for them!
