Testing the Current Limits of The Students
Inside the Teacher Lounge, a lone very skinny blonde man is sitting at one chair looking over the file of a certain tired and strict teacher of the school with concern for how he'll treat his class.
"(UA's course doesn't follow the normal academic path.)" The skinny blonde man thought remembered those times when he was a student.
"(Get the wrong homeroom teacher, and life is Hell.)" The skinny blonde man thought sighed. Hoping his successor won't have much trouble with this guy.
(With Class 1-A)
"What? A Quirk Assessment test?" The students shocked.
"But Orientation! We're gonna miss it!" Ochaco said.
"Isn't that something we should be doing on our first day of school?" Oscar asked.
"If you really wanna make the big leagues, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies." Shota stated which shocks the students.
"Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions. That means that I get to run my class however I see fit." Shota explained, making the students gasp.
"(I knew it! This guy is going to try breaking our spirits before this school could start breaking our bones!)" Oscar thought gulped in fear, wondering if he had listened to his aunt about staying at home and continuing working on the family's farm in the countryside. Well, it was too late for regrets now.
"You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives, but you never got to use your Quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel, it's not rational. One day, the Ministry of Education will learn." Aizawa explained as turn his glaze on Katsuki.
"Bakugo, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a softball when you were in Junior High?" Aizawa asked.
"67 meters, I think." Katsuki recalled.
"Right, try doing it with your Quirk. Anything goes, just stay in the circle." Aizawa instructed as he hands Katsuki the softball while he goes to the circle.
"Go on, you're wasting our time." Aizawa said.
"Alright man, you asked for this." Katsuki stretched his arms and getting into position.
"(This guy reeks of pride, reminds me of this anime character who was the prince of alien space monkeys and a powerful warrior who is powered by his pride.)" Jasmine thought recalled this anime show she watched a while ago.
"(I'll add a little heat to my pitch and drop their jaws.)" Katsuki thought planned to wow everyone with his superior power, he reels his right arm back for a second.
"DIE!" Katsuki threw the ball with a powerful explosion, sending it flying high and far.
"Oh whoa…!" Izuku was shocked and amazed of how strong Katsuki's Quirk is.
"Okay, that was a really strong throw!" Anne commented, wondering if she could pull off something like that with her Quirk.
"Too loud if you ask me." Eska complained while picking her ear.
"Loud and annoying." Rachal commented, and the two look at each other seeing that they just have something in common.
"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities. It's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a Pro Hero." Aizawa showed the meter scanner that Katsuki got 705.2 meters.
"Whoa, 705 meters, are you kidding me?" Denki was shocked.
"I wanna go! That looks like fun!" Mina excitedly.
"This is what I'm talking about! Using our Quirks as much as we want!" Hanta smirked, can't wait to get this started.
"Doesn't seem too hard." Jasmine smiled at Izuku who smiles back though nervously.
"So, this looks like fun, huh?" Aizawa asked firmly, the tension from the teacher has silence the students.
"You have three years here to become a hero, you think it's gonna be games and play time? Idiots." Aizawa formed a scary smile that send shivers down to some of their spines.
"Today, you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none and will be expelled immediately." Aizawa announced.
"HUH?!" The class gasped. They were NOT expecting something like this on the first day of school.
"(Is it too late to go home now?)" Denki thought feared with his legs shaking.
(Teacher Lounge)
"Aw crap, he got Aizawa. Midoriya's gonna be singled-out from the start." The skinny blonde man facepalmed himself upon discovering that Izuku Midoriya has been placed in Aizawa's class, fearing for the boy's fate.
(Back with Class 1-A)
"(Immediate expulsion! Eight tests. Oh crap., not good. I can only use One for All at either zero or 100% right now. I don't have any control yet.)" Izuku thought feared that he'll be expelled on his first day of high school.
"Like I said, I get to decide how this class runs. Understands? If that's a problem, you can head home right now." Aizawa said, but he can see none of the students are backing down.
"(A huge test on the first day of school! What am I gonna do?)" Izuku thought tried to think of something to get him better control of his Quirk, even if it's just a little.
"You can't be serious, sir!" Jasmine objected to this kind of rule, sounding unfair and unreasonable.
"You can't send one of us home! I mean, we just got here! Even if it wasn't the first day, that isn't fair!" Ochaco stated.
"Oh, and you think natural disasters are? Or power-hungry villains, hmm? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities?" Aizawa asked those harsh questions seriously.
"No, the world is full of unfairness. It's a hero's job to try to combat that unfairness. If you wanna be a Pro, you're gonna have to push yourself to the brink. For the next three years, UA will throw one terrible hardship after another at you. So, go beyond, Plus Ultra-style." Aizawa encouraged them to give these tests their best. The students become a little motivated from the speech.
"Show me it's no mistake that you're here." Aizawa gestured with a small grin.
The students have started thinking about the little lesson Aizawa just told them about the danger in the world and what heroes are always fighting against, deciding to push themselves up to 100% in these Quirk Tests.
"(I don't approve of this kind of hazing, but UA's the top hero program. I have no choice.)" Tenya thought decided to do his very best to pass this while drinking his water bottle.
"(Time to blow these nerds away.)" Katsuki thought grinned, believing he would outdo everybody here.
"(I guess high school is a lot harder than I thought it would be, more so when it comes to the hero schools such as UA.)" Jasmine thought looked up at the sky, thinking about her friend.
(Flashback)
Jasmine is holding a dying boy about her age in his arms with a big stab wound in the stomach area and lots of blood coming out, the princess is crying that her one true friend is going away forever.
"Don't cry, you have a strong heart and a strong Quirk. Use them to become a hero, carry on our dreams to the future…" The boy requested as his final breath and died with a smile.
(Flashback)
"(I'm here to fulfill the promise of my friend, and I'm going to keep it!)" Jasmine thought was determined pass his tests and prove him that she is worthy of being in UA High.
"Now then, we're just wasting time by talking. Let the games begin." Aizawa declared the start of the Quirk Assessment Tests.
(Test 1: 50-Meter Dash)
In this test, each pair will race each other to their fullest speed to see how fast they can do and how their Quirks can help make themselves faster.
"Runners, on your mark! Ready…" A speed time measuring device announced.
Tsuyu and Tenya ready themselves into position, then the gunshot was heard, and they immediately ran for the other side, to the finished line.
Tenya is running ahead of Tsuyu with his Quirk that he is able to get a good time of 3.04 seconds, followed by Tsuyu getting herself the time of 5.58 seconds.
"(At 50 meters, I can only get up to third gear.)" Tenya thought figured that would be the best he can do. Smoke comes out of the engine pipes from his cabs.
Tenya Iida, his Quirk: Engine! As you can see, his legs are pretty dang fast!
"Well, he's definitely in his element, but speed only won't help him in every test. But speed won't help him in every test." Aizawa said.
"I'll lighten up my clothes. Oh, and my shoes too!" Ochaco touched her clothes and shoes with her fingers, a faint pink glow happens almost in an instant.
Ochaco Uraraka, her Quirk: Zero Gravity! She can nullify the gravitational pull of anything she touches. But if she uses her power too much, she totally hurls!
Ochaco ran the fastest she could with her clothes being lighter and she managed to get a speed score of 7.15 seconds from the measuring device.
"(Well, at least that's faster than junior high!)" Ochaco thought smiled as she touched her fingers together to deactivate her Quirk.
"Nice attempts, mon mis. But you're just not showing enough panache!" Yuga commented to Ochaco.
When the gunshot sound was made, Yuga jump and fired a sparkling laser from his bellybutton that launches him fast.
"Let your powers shine!" Yuga screamed.
Yuga Aoyama, his Quirk: Navel Laser! That's right, a bellybutton laser. But he can't shoot it forever.
Yuga soon fell back on the ground while Mina managed to run past him while he is down to get a speed score of 5.51 seconds, and Yuga quickly blasted himself again.
"Hm, shooting my beautiful beam for more than a second can hurt my tummy." Yuga explained.
"(What a tool.)" Some of the students commented on how weak the French guy's Quirk is.
"(Testing the upper limits of their powers helps me assess their room for growth. It becomes clear what they can and can't do. Their true potential.)" Aizawa thought stated as well.
"Good luck, Jasmine." Juleka said to Jasmine as they are the next pair to race.
"Thanks, you too." Jasmine smiled back before activating her Inner Tiger Quirk.
"Runners, on your mark! Ready…" The speed time measuring device announced, and then the gunshot sound was heard.
Jasmine runs forward the fastest she could summon on all four while Juleka does the same heading for the finish line as the race was very close, but Jasmine finish first with 4 seconds flat and Juleka got 4.28 seconds.
"Wow, you were able to keep up with me. Very impressive." Jasmine complimented to Juleka.
"I was hoping to beat you, but I guess it's the best I could do." Juleka smiled.
Jasmine moves away for the next pairing to come up, and that is Izuku and that Katsuki Bakugo guy though the former looks really nervous.
"(I wonder if you have been training hard after the entrance because you're gonna need that power to really get by.)" Jasmine thought was concerned for Izuku.
"Runners, on your marks. Ready…"The measuring device shouted again, and the boys got ready, then ran at the same time from the signal.
"(Sometimes, pros heave to be creative in order to succeed.)" Aizawa thought remembered that.
"Burst Speed!"Katsuki unleashed explosions from behind to make himself go faster, getting the score of 4.13 seconds.
Katsuki Bakugo, his Quirk: Explosion!
Izuku made it through the finish line only getting 7 seconds flat as his score because he tries pushing himself a little harder.
"My power has more uses than anyone else's in this school." Katsuki bragged to himself, then look over to Deku calling him "pathetic" in his head.
"(There are still even tests. Everyone's gonna be using their Quirks on all of 'em and getting awesome results. So, what do I do?)" Izuku thought asked himself.
"(I've got a ton of power, but I can only use it once. And it'll break me. Control! That's what I need. Maybe I can focus like All Might suggested.)" Izuku thought clutched onto his knees while recalling what All Might told him.
"You can harness One for All."
(One Month Ago)
The scene changes back in time to show Izuku is talking with the skinny blonde man, who turns about to be All Might, the Number 1 Hero of the World and the Symbol of Peace, in his skinny form due to a fight with a powerful villain five years ago giving him a wound that took his most of his stomach.
And right now, Toshinori Yagi, his real name, is giving Izuku advice on how to harness the power he passed down to him.
"It's simple." Toshinori paused for a second. "You have to feel it!" He shouted.
"Can you be a little more specific?" Izuku asked, not sure what idol/mentor meant by all that.
"So, you already know what it's like to fire on all cylinders." Toshinori said while jabbing the air.
"Yeah, like a lot of broken bones." Izuku recalled that painful feeling from back then.
"No, I'm talking about the rush inside. You must have felt it coursing through you. What was it like?" Toshinori asked Izuku to describe to him the feeling of that power rushing through his body.
"Mm… a bzzt, or n, like whoosh or maybe kapow, or—" Izuku tried to think of the best way to explain how that feeling felt, and then he thought of something. "Oh, I know! Like an egg about to explode in a microwave!"
"That's pretty boring, but okay!" Toshinori laughed at the lame example, but decided to go with it.
"If that's the metaphor you wanna go with, then lower the wattage, or decrease the cooking time. Whichever one works. Keep focusing on that image and keeping the egg from explode, all right?" Toshinori advised.
"(I can do that.)" Izuku thought believed he could.
"You've three weeks until school. The more you concentrate, the faster you'll learn. Control over One for All isn't going to happen overnight. But you'll nail it one day." Toshinori said.
(Present)
"You just gotta keep trying."
Izuku was determined to figure out a way to get his Quirk under control.
"Izuku, are you feeling okay?" Jasmine asked, walking up to him.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Just pushed myself in that run." Izuku answered with a smile.
"Seems that you still haven't been able to figure out to full control your Quirk." Jasmine noticed this.
"Yeah, I've been trying to use the image of an egg not exploding in a microwave, but so far, no luck." Izuku explained.
"An egg inside a microwave? I'm not really sure that's the best way to help you with your Quirk, perhaps you need a different way. Take me for example, whenever I use my Quirk, I would let it flow through my entire body as it's natural for me since the beginning." Jasmine explained.
"Hmm, I haven't thought about it like that before." Izuku started to think about that.
Aizawa watches on seeing one student trying to help another though not too much, this is something he'll have to keep a close eye on for a while for the day.
(Test 2: Grip Strength)
Everyone is using machines to see how strong their grips are that would also show how strong their physical strength is.
Jasmine held one device the tightest she could then hear a beep, she looks at the device showing that her strength is about around 907 kg, this pleases her given that she had been training really hard to strengthen her Quirk.
"Whoa momma! That is some serious strength you got there!" Anne was shocked by Jasmine's strength.
"I've done a lot of training to get this far. What about you?" Jasmine asked.
Anne gave herself a try on this machine. She closes her eyes and opens showing that they have become blue along with her hair that is standing up as she grips on the device tighter, then the result came showing she's around 771 kg.
"Damn, kinda hoping to get higher." Anne chuckled.
"No way! You two just beaten this guy's record!" Hanata pointed at Mezo who got 560 kg.
"Does this count?" Juleka showed her scored to be equal to Jasmine's strength.
"Wow, everyone is doing so great!" Izuku was amazed by their strength while he only got 58 kg. Not noticing the tiny green electric sparks that only appeared in an instant.

Aizawa has gotten his students to do the Quirk tests to see what their current full potential is to get an idea of what they are capable of, and Izuku appears to be struggling the most out of everyone in the class and may find himself getting kicked out if he doesn't step it up a notch or two.
