Pathfinder
Chapter 01 "its a Monday"
Michael was sitting in the driver seat of his Nissan pathfinder it had been a long day at work 12 hour shifts made him tired he started looking about the cabin of the sub he was proud of what all he had added, to make it into a decent bug out SUV Michael had just gotten off work I had been a long 12 hours , he walked out to the parking lot where his SUV was parked , unlocked the doors with the key fob opened the door and sat down tired and ready to go home he had some things to-do that night and plans to take his Nissan pathfinder out on a bug out test run in the morning but it would be a place to sleep if he needed and Michael began to drive home it would take around 20 to 30 minutes to drive home it was mainly due to red lights or the horrible drivers that are on the road but most of them are home by the time I get off work but I do need to stop at the store and grab dinner after picking up dinner Michael drove home .
I had also made a trailer for my Pathfinder, the SUV was a good off road vehicle, would have liked to of wanted to add a few more things to that awesomeness and that was better seals to keep water out the interior and the trailer that was towed it was built and made to float at the right height to the truck its self. after havened figured some things out and was about to getting it to where she could float it was a task but she could cross very deep water and not sink. the engine bay was sealed to keep water out that also helped her not sink some much , more time had passed and it was the day for some system checks and make sure she was ready.
Okay let's see, hum. I went to do and all around system check, the oil is good fuel is good, after about ten minutes everything is all is good to go – with the look of being proud of the hard work.
After checking everything on the truck was good to go for a test drive on. The open road well a back road but still it was a nice and quite road near the smoky mountains it was a Monday morning around 4:30 am. The roads where empty nobody for miles little did I know everything would change? Ah I begin to reach for the radio to pick a radio station to, hear some noise, its been a busy morning.
Jon snow – was in the woods near Winterfell in the Gods wood to think about going to join the nights watch to protect the Realm of men from the white walkers in the far north beyond the wall he knew to himself. That is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life even if the meant no sons or women for the rest of his life. There was a light breeze in the air some clouds he could see the blue sky. He was the Basterd son of Eddard stark and had no real future within the walls of Winterfell but it was his home.
The wind was blowing. He was thinking to himself that he will never fully be a part of House Stark with the name snow.
Robb Stark – came out to the God's wood looking for his brother. He continued to look for his brother Jon. Shortly after walking into the God's wood he see's - Jon standing and gazing at the sky Robb says "father is looking for you what are you doing"
Jon Snow – takes his eyes away from the sky and turns around and replies "what does father want" in a curiously questioning tone "I have progressed out here to think"
Robb Stark- replies in a relax Manner "what are you thinking about – and I don't know what father wants he told me to go and find you"
Robb stark -and his brother- Jon snow- turn around and go to look for their father -Lord Eddard stark -in the
Robb and Jon walk to their father
Lord Eddard stark - Jon snow says "Robb said you wanted to talk to me and you were also looking for me"
Lord stark says to his son Jon snow "yes I was looking for you and needed to talk to you"
Jon snow – "what is it my lord what did you want to talk to me about"
Lord stark speaks with a strong but warming tone back to his son "you and I myself also your brother Robb will be going on a hunt in the wolfs wood"
Jon snow – "a hunt with my father and brother it has been awhile since they have gone on a hunt "said in a puzzled tone to himself
Lord Eddard Stark says with a strong tone that commanded Respect "have 20 horses' for a fortnight"
Jon snow – replies " yes father I will have the horse's ready " Jon snow –steps back from his father turns and starts to walk to the horse stables to find a fresh horse for the hunt with his father and brother Jon walks over to the stables and asks the stable boy for 20 fresh horse's " I need 20 fresh horse "
Stable boy – Replies "yes my lord I will get you a fresh horse ready for you "
Jon snow – goes looking for Theon "Theon?"
Theon – says "what is it Jon?"
Jon snow – "I was told to find you and to tell you to ready to go on a hunt with I and my father and Robb"
Theon – surprised Replies "it has been a long time since lord Eddard stark as gone on a hunt "
Jon- "surprised me also but get ready "
Lord Eddard stark, Jon, Theon, Robb along with a hand full of house stark house guard where riding to the wolfs wood for a day and stopped just inside the Wolfs wood
horse to reach the Destination were they were going to go for a hunt it was also a way away from Winterfell they all had stopped to let their worn out horse's to rest for the night. The area that Eddard stark , Robb , Jon , Theon , the men in house stark that had gone with their lord stopped to camp for the night and started to build some shelter for the night it had felt of a storm coming in the wind Eddard stark had just sit down on a fallen tree trunk Eddard stark could see the fog in the distance from where they had just stopped to make camp looking at Jon and Theon and to 3 of the stark house guard said " go and find wood for the camp fire and to his son Robb and the other men set up camp "Robb and with the help of the men had started to get camp set up before night fall, it was a hour before.
the sun began to set Jon with Theon and 3 of the house hold guard were gathering some twigs and small pieces of wood for a there camp fire be ,Jon Theon and the 3 men had gathered bundle of wood that would last the night and walked back to where the camp was going to be to find that some shelter had been set up and walked over to Lord Eddard stark Jon then looked at his father and ask " were do you want the wood for the fire to be placed "theon" then asked where do you want the fire to be lord stark spoke " put the fire just over there "and pointed over to a grouping of rocks that will hide the fire from the wind it will also to protect us from the wind and aslo to provent it from being seen by anyone in the distance that would want to start a fight.
Jon and Theon with the help of the 3 men then walked over to were there lord had pointed his hand and began to stack the wood in a shape that would let the wood burn slowly that would last the night and give off warmth for everyone that would be camping next to it , while out Theon had killed a Rabbit that would
Theon started to skin and gut the dead Rabbit and stabbed the dead rabbit with the stick that he had sharpened and place it next the camp fire by stabbing one end into the ground and the other leaning into the fire and started to cook the rabbit that he had killed Theon was sitting on a log Jon had walked over standing by the camp fire Theon was watching the rabbit cook. Jon snow was also eating some of the stag he brought with him as he was waiting for the rabbit to cook and asked Theon if wanted a peace
Jon-looked to Theon and said "Theon do what a piece of the Stag, while you wait for the rabbit to cook? "
Theon turned to where Jon was standing , and then looked to where Jon to where he was sitting. On a log and said "yes "and reached out Jon handed it to him.
The air was cool and had a light Breeze that had a cooling effect it felt good it was a good relaxing feel but the wood's where not save to let your guard down in but it was still a good feeling to relax for a few moments every , once in awhile it still was nice to relax it was still dangerous . And, the winds begun to pick up a bit not much but was still noticeable.
Michael - was driving down a long winding gravel road thinking to himself I have spent all this money on off road tires so it would be good to put them to some use. I wanted to also have a little bit of fun anyway there was some fog in little pockets here and there in the area that I could see was not to bad my L-E-D headlight did well at cut a path right through it.
Jon and Theon were on watch while everyone else were resting - Theon was watching the fog slowly move it was a interesting thing to watch , they weren't not bothered by the moving fog Jon and Theon was watched it as Theon waited for the Rabbit to cook .
Michael – was thinking to himself out loud that fog is moving that is interesting as he was looking out of his windshield. He continued to drive and watched as he was heading straight into the area where the fog are getting thinker pockets where getting more and more harder to see
Theon - was eating the rabbit that he had cough. It was good it was nice to stop to eat and take a rest from riding there horse's after a long day the wind began to pick up ever so slightly not to noticeable but then. Jon – noticed that, there horse's had picked their head off the ground let it had felt something was coming to where they were.
Jon and Theon - had learned to watch the way a horse would change its mood you. Could tell what was going on by watching the horse reaction's both horse where acting as if something was coming their way the Horse was still laying down but with lifting there head up off the ground.
Michael – was driving off road it was still a smooth ride with the trucks better suspension, being installed on the truck .There were still a few bumps every once in awhile.
Jon and Theon –both were looking at their horses while watching to know if there was something dangerous in the area. The Fog began to blow in to where Jon and Theon and the others were camping as both horses's started to stand up as if something big was coming.
Jon– stood up and started to stomp there camp fire out as Theon started to cover up the half eaten rabbit in the dirt it was a waste of the rabbit Jon walks over to Lord Eddard stark and stood just outside of the tent and said "my lord wake up something is coming the horse's are acting strange " lord Eddard stark woke up "okay wake everyone and do it quietly " Jon with understanding "yes my lord "Jon and Theon started to wake everyone.
Jon and Theon were waking everyone up. Eddard stark stepped out of his tent in his leather armor and carried a large sword on his back and more sizeable one on his side and told everyone to move to the patch of large rocks with that command everyone moved to be hided the rocks as everyone started to calm their horses Jon and Theon get on horse's and moved to a deeper part of the woods were the pile of large rocks were to put as much between them and their horse's as they can to keep them somewhat safer and put them in a better Defense position.
Michael - the road was a little bumpier then it had been for the past hour of driving. then out of nowhere the fog suddenly got thick and the dirt road he had been on was gone the tries suddenly dropped causing the SUV to drop and bottom out the bottom of his SUV, shuttered with a loud bang that sounded like when garbage truck picking up a dumpster the loud banging and the shuttering of the Nissan pathfinder scared Michael it came from out of nowhere . And the dropped out of the, road was a bit of a shock Michael stopped his Suv to get out and see if there had been any damage to his pathfinder
Eddard stark moved his men into deep into the thicker woods with their horse's as they all tried to calm the horses. And without any warning the fog got thick – a sudden surprised look on everyone's face Robb looked to his father and started to talk "what is it my lord " Eddard stark turned to his son Robb and spoke "I Don't know but we will sure find out "
Eddard Stark and his men – were both puzzled for a moment by the now thick fog. Something more puzzling happened Jon heard a sound that Rumble like a loud thunderstorm and looked to his father Eddard stark and his lord and said with Question "my lord what is that"Eddard looked to Jon and said "it sounds like a storm" just as Jon and Eddard spoke a strange light a short distance away itshot through the woods lighting everying for a short moment but it was a shock to .
Eddard stark Robb Jon Theon and the men that was with them. Then another sound this sound was loud like when a big tree falls or even when a big rock falls from high up on a mountain falls but this had a sound like metal hit almost like swords hitting one another but if it was a tree.
Michael – had gotten down low with a flash light to look at the underneath of the truck to check for damage. Looking under the truck ok, hum, ok that looks good that looks good. His trucks tires are good there looks to be no damage here. The Michael leaned down to look under his truck and go look to make sure the trailer was okay everything looks good. He started to stand up and got out from the back of the truck and got back up in the cab to switch some of the lights off and just keep the truck headlights on a lower setting. and began to look at his GPS – on the top right of my GPS there is NO satellite signal that is a bit strange hum (Michael - said with a puzzled look) "hum, as he grabbed his cell phone just to see if he had any cell phone service" there was none he was not expecting to anyway it's always good to make sure there was not service bars on his smart phone.
Michael turned around and began to look around his truck from inside the cab well at least there are not trees right up next to his truck the area was little clear Michael looked be hide the truck to see if he could turn around and go back, looking down to his fuel gauge it was at 97% full on the digital gauge there was still the older analog gauges in the truck he liked the mix of both well the truck had plenty of fuel why not thinking to his self I will just stay here anyway its nice out but there is alot of fog .
Eddard stark and his men – were they were in the woods and noticed where the strange light it was coming from in the woods as it got weaker; it was still there just not as bright as it was before it was hard to tell what it was with all the trees in the way.
Eddard and his men – slowly got off the tired horse and had the Leeds in their hand's a continued to calm the tired horse shh , shh they as the men said to their horse to calm them down after some time there horse's had calmed down enough to where they found a thick tree branch to tie there horse to . And Jon said " I think we should go and see what it is " Eddard stark said " we should go see what it is " Eddard looked to his men and told some to stay and care for their horse Eddard looked over to his men and said " I and Robb Jon and Theon won't be gone long we are just going to be gone long enough to see what it is " then men said yes my lord Eddard Robb Jon Theon - began to make their way over to the strange light's.
It had slowly become morning the sun had started to rise it was dawn. Lord Eddard stark –decided to find out what the strange lights were coming from Eddard Robb Jon Theon and 5 men had made it a good was to where the strange lights were coming from and making sure they had made a marked path to get back to where he had left the horse's and the rest of the men.
Michael - was sitting in the driver's seat wanting for the sun to rise .some time had passed and he had not found out why the GPS was not working .the antenna Dome was working and he seen that there was not damaged as Michael looked up at the Antenna and also seen there was a lake not too far away and decided he would go fishing on the nearby lake it was a short 10 minute walk from where his truck was parked he reached up to the rack where his fishing gear pole and opened the truck door and got down putting one foot after another on the truck steps and headed to the lake carrying the fishing gear to enjoy the lake the fishing pole was not to catch any fish he did have plenty of food it was more to relax and enjoy himself . in the outdoors there where small rocks and small pot holes and some gravel apart of ground. also needed to look out for wild animals Michael was also carrying a desert eagle 50 AE , for bear defense and also had bear spray for a none lethal option .
Eddard Robb Jon Theon and the 5 men they had brought with them – were getting closer to where the strange light's had been coming from and started to noticed something near the wood's , in what looked like a clearing in the woods it there was a person Eddard stark seen but it was still hard to see what he could make out a shape but there were still many trees in the path of his vision and could not yet make it out he carefully moved through the woods and quietly and told the men with him to do the same that way not to draw attention to them .
Eddard Robb Jon Theon with the 5 men- had moved closer to get a better look Eddard was the first to get where he could see that it was a man in strange clothes , and some sort of long thin stick with some incredibly thin Twine coming out of the egg shaped object underneath the thin long stick "he had a puzzled look on his face" he was not sure what he was looking at there was also something with strange and yet colorful feather looking objects on what looked like a leather helmet and the man was also carrying some sort of box in his hand not made from wood but something different , and he noticed a knife not a big knife but still a knife .
Michael – stop looking for his Bluetooth speaker and he could not find it once he could not find it he said "shit I forgot my Bluetooth speaker" after he had stopped and notice the he had forgotten his Blue Tooth speaker and turns around to go back to his truck to get it out of his truck
Eddard stark and his men were - was caught off guard by the change of Direction made by the strangely clothed man with the stick in his hand
Eddard stark – thinking to himself that does not happen often as the strange man suddenly change Direction Eddard weight shifted and causing his feet to step on a small branch and it was breaking under his weight and making creaking snapping noises.
Michael – was turning around and heard a sound of a breaking branch and was caught off guard by it Cory dropped his fishing pole and tackle box and placed his left hand on the bear spray .and quickly unclip the bear spray and held it straight out towards the sound of the breaking branch and held the it in the position the spray
Michael then said with a firm voice and loud voice "WHO IS THERE identify yourself? "
Michael stood there puzzled and said" I have bear spray I will use it come out slowly "
Eddard stark – said to himself shit stupid tree branch that had made the noise.
Eddard stark and his men – was again surprised by the strange man pointing in his Direction as strange object it was the shape of a wide short wine bottle it was not clear it was a black and was being pointed right in is Direction then the strange man said "WHO IS THERE identify yourself? "Then shortly after he said " I have bear spray I will use it come out slowly "
Eddard – thinking to his self what is bear spray? And his knife was still in its sheath the strange man is only holding a black wine bottle again thinking to himself that is no weapon Eddard – had a long sword and he was had on body armor and a dagger to the strange man
Michael - says "Come out sneaking around on people is not a joke and you can get hurt" then says "come out "
Michael then notices where the man standing just be hide the tree but not all the way
Michael – says "hey dumb ass if you are trying to hide you are doing a pretty shit job at it know how I know I can see your fucking leg you might want to move it if you wanted to stay hidden "
Eddard stark – looking to Jon and said in low voice " move your leg slowly "
Jon snow – quickly moves his leg after Eddard had pointed it out
Michael – says "man you are doing a shit job at hiding I know you are there just moving your leg does not change the fact you are hiding their "
Eddard stark - realizing there was no point in hiding he told his men not to draw their swords decided Eddard stark and his men stepped out of the woods and started to walk over to the strange man and stopped a few steps away
Michael – seeing the group of men starting to come out wearing Furs of some kind and has a sword on their side's there was a man that was tall and the other men looked at as their leader started to walk to him
Eddard stark began to approach the strange man with is hand sitting on the on the hilt of his long sword ready to draw if needed he was and honorable man and would not over react
Michael – see the man in the Furs come closer and says "that is close enough who are you "
Eddard – Replies with a tone that demanded repect "I am Eddard stark Warden of the north lord of Winterfell of House Stark" then says to the stranger "who are you"
Michael – taken back by the man saying his name is Eddard stark Warden of the north lord of Winterfell of House Stark" then says to the stranger
Michael – decides to Replies "I am Michael Armstrong"
Eddard stark – met with a strange name then says "I done know that house "
Michael then says "I have never heard of Winterfell or House stark" Michael then puts the bear spray back in the clip holster "sorry about that I did not mean to come off a rude hateful person"
Eddard – thinking to him that is strange for someone not to know of Winterfell and house stark
Michael – then approaches Eddard stark with his hand out
Eddard – was curious and puzzled and says "what is bear spray?"
Eddard and Michael shake hands, Eddard after seeing Michael was not a threat decided to call over his men
Michael -says "are you joking you don't know what bear spray is "
Eddard -replies "no I am not joking I do not know what it is "
Michael – says "you spray it at bears to scare them off "
Eddard – thinking to his self a spray? Not even sure when Michael means by that and the idea of a spray can scare off a bear surprised him "that is interesting"
Michael - says "where are you really from? "
Jon – says "I am from Winterfell "
Michael - replies " I don't know where that is come back with me to my truck and we can try to find it in on a map . also is that a real long sword ?"
Eddard – not knowing what a truck is starts to walk with Michael to his truck then asked " where are you from Michael " Eddard wanting to know where Michael came from
Michael replies I am From "Youngstown Ohio "
Eddard – had never heard of a Youngstown Ohio " where is Youngstown Ohio ?"
Michael " its in the northen Untied states "
Eddard thinking that winter fell is one of the most northern town and castle
Eddard says "yes it is a real sword "and thinking to himself what this thing Michael is calls a truck and thinking it was strange for Michael to ask if his sword was real the other men that was with Eddard stark walked with Michael and there lord
Eddard and his men and Michael reaches - Michael truck everyone is surprised by the strange cragged with it was also it bit of shock seeing a large box shaped wagon and Theon says " where are the horse's to pull it ? "
Michael says "there are no horse to pull it ,you don't pull a truck with horses "
Jon is puzzled by the statement
Michael open the door to the truck Eddard and his men was surprised and a bit shocked when Michael started the truck. It made a wining sound and a loud rumble and roar to life
Robb after being startled "Michael what is that thing?"
Michael -Replaying back to Robb "it's a truck"
Michael – was lost without his GPS and the map that he had did not match what he was seeing and decided to ask Eddard if he could help him get to the road looking at Eddard Michael said "could you help me get to a road"
Eddard being the kind man "I will help you get to the kings road"
Michael chough off guard by the king's road "okay thank you"
Eddard offers and says "you can come back with me and my men to winter fell"
Michael with thanks says "okay cool thanks"
Eddard not being used to being called my lord after someone talks to him understands that Michael has not said my lord
A day later Eddard stark and his men and the stranger Michael with his pathfinder made it's way to winter fell Eddard stark road ahead and told his men at winter fell about Michael . About an hour goes by and the truck drives into the walls of winter fell people were shocked by the strange thing that just came through there gates
