Chapter 1: New Moon
The city of Townsville, home to some of the most incredible people you could imagine. Mutant toddlers, imaginary friends, giant robots, child geniuses, evos, cryptids, aliens, superheroes, fairies, ghosts, and many more all find Townsville and the rest of this vast world their home.
Sure, there are just as many problematic people too, whether they're evil tyrannical masterminds or evil monkeys bent on ruling the world. Of course, the heroes living within the this colorful world make sure that none of these evil doers go unpunished.
Thus the Townsville Prison was created soon after the first super villain showed up, becoming one of the first prisons to be able to house super villains and other such dangerous criminals. The prison was equipped with the latest security measures that are constantly getting upgraded thanks to companies such as Dexlabs and Neutron Corp, preventing even the smartest or strongest of villains from escaping. From the small, petty thieves to the cruelest, most twisted members of society. All types of people and monsters can be found in a prison such as this.
Most stories would focus on the heroes who fight such villains. This is not one of those stories. This story is not about good versus evil, nor is it about right versus wrong. It is not a story about heroes or villains, nor is it a story about war and battles, and it is not even a story about aliens and fusion.
This is a story about a young man who made poor life choices. He walked down a dark path in pursuit of his desires, and now he pays the price of his decisions. He has willingly trapped himself within a prison of his own making, and there is no hope to be found anywhere.
But that is not true. Even if he cannot see it himself, anyone, no matter who they are or what they've done, has the chance to move on. Everyone has the opportunity to decide what kind of life they get to live. Everyone has the power to decide what kind of person they are.
This is not a story about redemption. Not entirely. Nor is this entirely a story about change.
In truth, this story is, more than anything else, about forgiveness.
Matt hated his job. He absolutely hated it.
Why?
Because he worked at Townsville Prison.
Normally, that wouldn't sound too bad. Good pay in a good city, and it gave good benefits, too. He also had good co-workers and a nice boss. What's not to like?
The screams, for one.
Matt had to force himself not to shudder as he stood on guard within the prison hall. The senseless, unending screams, moans, and bangs that echoed in the hall was something straight out of a nightmare. Matt knew he would never forget them, and he knew the inmates they were keeping in there would never forget either.
The inmates bashing their heads against the doors, the howling they do for hours on end, the messes they make just to do something, anything…
This was hell. Matt worked in hell, and hell was istrative segregation, which is just a fancy word used to cover up the fact that it was solitary confinement.
This was Matt's job, watching over this part of the prison, and it took all of his mental strength to not break. To not react visibly to anything that happens during his shift. To not feel disgusted and horrified by the things that he saw happen in this one hall.
Sickening did not do it justice. It never would, as there was no justice to be found here.
It frustrated Matt to no end that this was still being done. Nothing the government officials of Townsville did could stop it, as it was a mandate put in place by the federal government. A few representatives and even the Mayor himself couldn't overturn this, no matter how hard they tried. All they could do was make it bearable, but that could only do so much.
Matt knew that the other guards turned a blind eye to the 'fishing' the inmates in solitary did. It gave them something to do. It allowed them to briefly communicate with each other and keep their minds busy. Matt choose to ignore it, too. The only time they stopped it was when there were razors involved. Matt had seen and cleaned up enough blood for many lifetimes.
Matt simply put up with it all. The screams, the howling, the banging against the metal doors, the shouting, the crying, the flooding, the food tossing. All of it. He put up with it because it was his job and he couldn't get anyone else to hire him.
He also felt that since he was in this horrible situation, he had a duty to make sure he did it right. To make sure the damage done here was as minimum as it could be without getting in trouble himself.
So he continued to walk down the hall, ignoring the splashes he made with each step. Someone had clogged their toilet and flooded the halls. Again. They would have to clean it up later, but Matt was more focused on checking the windows.
No windows covered up and, more importantly, not covered in blood. He saw the occassional message written in food mush and feces, though. Disgusting, but that was better than the third option.
Of course, none of that affected the noise the resonated in the tiny hallway as he made his way through. He ignored it as best he could, though he would never know whether or not he kept a straight face through it all. He always had a feeling he failed everytime, but no one ever said anything.
It soon got worse, as that was just the easy part. Now Matt had to do the hard part. He took a deep breath as he reached the end of the hall, staring at the final door.
This was the most important, and potentially most dangerous, part of the job. Matt worked at Townsville Prison, and that meant one thing. This prison didn't just hold normal criminals. It was capable of holding super villains.
Matt took a shaky breath. He shouldn't be worried. He had done this several times already, as had the other guards. There was only one criminal being held here at the moment that could fall under the term 'super villain', and that was only because he supposedly a meta human.
Matt didn't know what that power was as he had never seen it nor was it in the inmate's records. All he knew was the reason the inmate was incarcerated and why he was in solitary. Somehow, just having that little sliver of knowledge made this inmate more terrifying that any other Matt had come across, putting him right up there with the likes of Mojo Jojo, Fuzzy Lumpkins, Doctor Animal, and other villains that the usual heroes fought on a daily basis.
People are terrified of the unknown, after all.
Still, he couldn't just stand there and stare at the door. He had to check up on the inmate. The other inmates seemed to realize this as the noise they were making slowly died down as they each leaned to the corners of their doors to peer out the windows with a view of Matt and the door.
Of course they were curious. They knew who this was, and this inmate hadn't made any effort to communicate at all. He did not 'fish' like the others. He did not flood his room. He did not make a single loud noise throughout the entire year he was kept in solitary. He simply remained in his cell and kept to himself. Matt would have believed that the officers that brought him in also gagged him if it weren't for the glimpses he got of the guy whenever he checked up on him.
Still, despite being an upstanding inmate, that didn't mean he wasn't dangerous, though he never tried anything with the guards. It was his reputation alone brought that fear to Matt and the guards despite his good behavoir.
So, without wasting much time, Matt checked the door. No blood. Nothing covering the door window, nor did there seem to be anything strange covering the room interior from this view, so Matt peered in.
There the inmate sat on the bed, his legs crossed as he held his hands together in his lap, his palms open with his fingers touched. It looked as though he was meditating.
Perhaps he really was. Matt couldn't tell definitely considering the young man wore a tight, black metal blindfold wrapped and sealed around his head, thoroughly covering the inmate's eyes and locking away his vision with a key that the warden kept on him at all times. His black hair had gotten long during his stay in solitary, almost becoming shoulder length now, and there was some stubble on his chin and cheeks.
Inmate Izayoi Scarlet, 17 years old, turning 18 in a few months. He's been held for almost two years.
It terrified Matt that someone so young could be so dangerous and deadly, to the point that he had to be blindfolded. Two years ago, Izayoi would have been 15, and that was when he did his terrible crimes.
It was difficult to believe that a child could become a feared villain, but that was the world Matt was living in, it would seem.
Yet every so often, something happen that made Matt think twice on his fear of the young man, such as know. If Matt listened closely, he could make out something coming from the room.
"Take a moment to think of just…flexibility, love, and trust. Take a moment to think of just…flexibility, love and trust."
Izayoi Scarlet, the most terrifying inmate being held currently, was singing. Matt bit his lower lip as he realized that. The boy (because that's what he was, just a boy) sometimes silently sung to himself like this from time to time. Matt never recognized any of the songs, yet they were always sung in a low voice like a whisper.
Izayoi wasn't just making noise. Somehow, he was soothing himself. Comforting himself.
"Take a moment, remind yourself to~take a moment and find yourself… take a moment to ask yourself if this is how we fall apart. But it's not, but it's not, but it's not, but it's not, but it's not. It's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay. I've got nothing, got nothing, got nothing, got nothing to fear. I'm here, I'm here, I'm here, and it was just a thought, just a thought, just a thought, just a thought~."
Matt pulled himself away from the door, unable to listen anymore. Not when the inmate sounded so young as he sang in his soft mumble. Not when he sang to grant himself the slightest bit of comfort.
How could a young man on the cusp of adulthood be both this soft spoken boy but also a monster who deserved to be in here? Matt would never know. He didn't know whether he cared or not.
All he knew was that the boy, Izayoi, was fine. Matt could finally leave this godforsaken hall and do something else.
As Matt began to leave, the other inmates began to resume their mayhem. The mind breaking noise returned and the insanity resumed, yet Matt didn't stop walking.
He wasn't paid enough to deal with any more thoughts and feelings like this. He was just a guy doing his job. Aside from that, he didn't get any more involved.
It didn't matter how he felt. He would just keep going on with his own life. He couldn't care less what happened to anyone else or their explanations or excuses. He wouldn't feel guilty for criminals.
Matt would not feel sympathy or pity for a man who was convicted for a crime as grave as what Izayoi was in this hell for, no matter how young he may be. And so Matt's day continued, all the while, the blind inmate kept singing slowly and softly to no one but himself. A small comfort in all of the grime and sorrow of his life.
Yet that would soon change. Neither Izayoi, nor Matt, nor anyone else in the entire world knew what was coming, yet it would come never the less.
War would soon be upon everyone.
Blossom let out a heavy sigh as she slowly floated above the Pokey Oaks neighborhood. She rubbed the slight bags under her eyes as she tried to focus on flying straight.
She was all alone at the moment. Bubbles was downtown right now, refusing to stop her search for the day, and Buttercup…
Blossom shook her head. She shouldn't focus on something that was out of her control. No matter what she wanted or what she was capable of, there were some things she couldn't do. There were some things she couldn't help. There were some things that she was utterly powerless to control, despite being a Powerpuff Girl.
Instead, she had to keep her attention on what was in front of her. On what she could do. She had to be there for her father and sister. She had to keep up with her studies and help the Mayor with various odd jobs, all while judging her duties as a superhero. She had to help Dexter with all of his projects, including trying to find the poor volunteer that disappeared after Dexter's failed time travel demonstration. So much was on her plate, and that was just what she was dealing with. The Professor and Bubbles had their own things they had to do that Blossomed wanted or needed to help out with.
"One step at a time Blossom. One step at a time." She had to remind herself as she flew back home. Today had been a long day, so she really hoped that things would calm down when she got home.
That is not what happened. The moment she flew through her window and was greeted with a loud, blaring alarm coming from the Professor's lab in the basement, Blossom sighed as she put her stuff down and flew down there.
"Professor? What's going on?" Blossom called out when she spotted her father looking worriedly at the large monitor set up in the lab.
"Blossom." The Professor muttered as he turned back to her for just a moment before returning his view to the monitor. "We might have a problem. Something is entering the atmosphere. Well, several somethings."
"Are they meteors?" Blossom asked as she moved over to look at the monitor herself.
"No. They're something else." The Professor frowned. He hummed as he nodded and pulled out his communicator. "Blossom, go get your sister. I'm going to make a few calls. Once Bubbles is with you, head to Sector V. That seems to be the closest place one of this objects will be landing."
"You got it." Blossom nodded before she flew off, a red trail forming behind her as she went.
"Be safe." Utonium said before turning back to the monitor. "I do hope this terrible feeling I have is unfounded…"
"Man, that was a super easy mission, Numbuh One!" Numbuh Two exclaimed as he and the other members of Sector V's KND division walked out of their S.C.A.M.P.E.R. into their treehouse.
"Numbuh Two's right! Those Delightful Brats from Down the Lane didn't know what hit them!" Numbuh Four shouted in agreement as he punched his hand into his open palm with a wide grin.
"Yes, it was easier than the last few missions, but that's no reason to get careless." Numbuh One, the de facto leader of the group, told his two teammates. "The Delightful Children and Father must be planning a new evil scheme against kids as we speak, especially with the Delightful Children's Birthday coming up. We have to be prepared for them!"
"Well Numbuh Five thinks we all could use a well deserved ice cream break right about now." Numbuh Five stated with a cool smirk. "We kicked butt today, so what do ya say, Numbuh One?"
"Oo! Ooo! Ice cream! Ice cream ice cream ice cream!" Numbuh Three, the most energetic member, started cheering. "Can we, Numbuh One? Can we can we can we?" Numbuh One sighed before he gave her a smile.
"Sure, Kuki. Let's all enjoy some Burble Berry Ice Cream that we have in the fridge." Numbuh One said, causing his entire team to cheer. He gave a bigger smile, but it vanished immediately when the treehouse's alarms started blaring like crazy. The Sector V team immediately rushed to their main headquarters to check it out.
"It's an emergency signal coming from the off-planet bases!" Numbuh Five shouted.
"Numbuh Two, make contact! Now!" Numbuh One ordered. Numbuh Two nodded and quickly tried to answer the call.
"This can't be good…" Numbuh Four muttered quietly as Numbuh Two typed away at his station.
"Plutobase? Come in, Pluto!" He shouted before his monitor showed the words 'Plutobase no signal'. "What!?"
"Try one of the other bases!" Numbuh One ordered.
"Uhh...Numbuh One?" Numbuh Three began as all the monitors began to show similar messages for Neptunebase, Uranusbase, Saturnbase, Jupiterbase, and Marsbase.
"Not good at all…!" Numbuh Four muttered once again, now in a more concerned voice.
"Dexter. I'm tracking an unknown object approaching Earth."
Dexter, the famous boy genius and founder of Dexlabs, stopped his work on a new invention and turned to face Computress, his robotic assistant.
"An unknown object?" He repeated in his heavily accented voice as he quickly moved over to his main supercomputer. With just a few key taps, his screen was now showing what Computress said. Something was entering the atmosphere. Several of them, in fact.
"What in the-?"
Before Dexter could get an answer, there was a loud 'BOOM!' coming from the sky above him. He looked up just in time to see what looked like a meteorite falling to earth through his glass ceiling. Dexter was alarmed, but his surprise was ended abruptly when his communicator started ringing.
"Incoming call from Professor Utonium." Computress stated.
"Put him through." Dexter nodded as the Professor's voice began playing out of the communicator. "Hello, Professor. I assume you're calling in regards to the strange anomalies that are landing on the planet now?"
"Yes, that's correct. I've already contacted Max Tennyson, yet he and his people don't know what these are either. I'm starting to get a terrible feeling about this."
"Indeed. Alien anomalies are not something that fills me with confidence." Dexter frowned. He took a moment to think before he sighed and nodded to himself. "I'll call you later, Professor. I'm going to take a closer look at these things myself. Once I find out more, I'll let you know so we can come to a conclusion." Dexter said before he abruptly ended the call. "Computress, prep the hangar. I think I may need to change into something a little more...comfortable."
"Affirmative. Loading coordinates now."
"Good. Oh, one more thing." Dexter said. "Send a message to Neutron. I have a feeling we'll need all the help we can get with this."
Dexter was right. They were going to need all the help they could get. The situation was far more grave than anyone expected.
Six unidentified objects from space entered the Earth's atmosphere, all at the same time. Each one few over a different part of world, with numerous people ranging from scamming children Living in a cul-de-sac to a samurai traveling the darklands.
It didn't take long for each object to crash into the earth. Each one landed in a different place. One landed in a Junkyard where a mecha from the future was kept. One landed next to the giant tree house used by the kids stationed in Sector V. The third landed in Townsville's park, right next to the local prison. The next one landed within the ocean, settling in a place where a sea sponge lived under a large pineapple. The fifth landed in Amity Park, where the supernatural thrived. The final object landed in the newly built coast city founded by the avatar and new fire lord.
The pod that crashed into the last location, Republic City, landed on an island nearby that was known as Air Nomad Island. It was a new temple for futurw air benders that avatar Aang would eventually father. It was to be his new home, so when something from outer space crashed into what was essentially his front yard, it made sense he would go and investigate.
"Holy cow. What is that thing?" The teenage avatar couldn't help but voice that question upon discovering what had landed.
Whatever it was, it sure looked disgusting. It was a large, gooey-green alien bulb that had rooted itself into the ground with dark green appendages like a tree. It was veiny and twitching, steam coming off it's goo from the heated entry into the atmosphere. The smell was even worse, havinf an overwhelming oder like burnt acid or toxic waste.
Aang's friend and esrthbending mentor, Toph, made her thoughts about the strange bulb immediately known.
"Gross… I can feel it pulsing through the ground…" The young earthbender groaned. She then gave off a wicked smile as she got into a bending stance. "Let's squish it."
"Hang on, Toph. We don't know if this thing is hostile or not. Maybe it's friendly." Aang proposed.
"Yeah, the big, gross alien thing from space that crash landed here is definitely friendly." Toph rolled her eyes.
"You never know." Aang argued. 'Besides, we don't know if attacking this thing will cause it to blow up or something."
"True, but I'd be willing to bet that leaving it alone would be even worse." Toph shot back as she readied a strike. Before she could go through with it, something stopped her, causing her to tense up. "The bulbs shaking now."
Aang blinked a few times before he turned his head to the bulb. True to Toph's words, the thing was shaking. Aang squinted his eyes as he watched it. It almost seemed like it was sweating now with little drops appearing on it's gooey sides.
Aang' thoughts were proven wrong when those little sweat droplets started to form jagged mouths and sharp, glowing red eyes before the creatures leapt out of the bulb. Aang's jaw blackened a bit at the sight of over a dozen if these little things suddenly forming in front of him. He wasn't alone with his shock, as the blind girl next to him couldn't help but widen her eyes before she spoke again.
"Did that thing just pop out a bunch of little guys, or am I feeling this wrong?" She asked, a frown now adoring her expression.
"N-No, that is what happened." Aang answered nervously as he took out his glider staff. "B-But they still might be friendly! Maybe we should-"
Aang never got to finish as one of the spawns jumped at him, its mouth wide open as it tried to take a bite out of him. Aang was just fast enough to dodge it and hit it away with his staff.
"Not friendly! Not friendly!" He shouted in a panic as he and Toph began to fight back against the creatures.
The island became engulfed in an elemental frenzy as the two benders fought off the alien creatures. Aang let out streams of air and fire as he knocked the creatures away as Toph hurled chunks of earth to crush to crush the spawns.
Defeating the creatures wasn't difficult, as they were essentially living goo monsters. Most of the attacks that hit the spawns caused them to splatter into little goo pieces. The problem was the sheer number of them. The first batch the bulb let out was over a dozen spawns, but it kept going until there was easily over thirty of them.
"This is getting really annoying!" Toph shouted after she created a pile of stone disks that she began to shoot out with each stance she took, firing a barrage of disks at the spawns.
A few of the monsters managed to get behind her, but they were blasted away with a stream of water before they could attack, curtesy of Aang.
"Then let's end this!" Aang shouted before he struck a pose, causing a wave of air and fire to launch out of his fists.
The air fed and focused the strong wave of fire, causing it to turn into a powerful beam of heat that pierced the bulb creating the spawns. Aang let out a controlled breath as he relaxed, only to then let out a gasp when he saw the damage he just did begin to heal instantly.
"Did you get it?" Toph asked as she killed another spawn.
"Yeah, but not hard enough it seems!" Aang shouted as he jumped away from a group of creatures.
"Then let's do what I suggested earlier: squish it!"
"Fine!"
Upon saying that, both Aang and Toph jumped and brought both of their arms up when they landed, causing a large stone wall to form in front of them. With one last palm strike forward, they sent to wall collapsing toward the bulb, crushing it.
Toph let out a victory cheer, but she was cut off when the alien bulb broke out of the stone and regenerated again.
"Are you serious!?" She shouted as a fresh batch of spawns were created. "Well, I'm outta ideas. Do you have any, Twinkle Toes?"
"Nope. Fresh out of them." Aang grimaced as he readied himself for another assult.
It never came. Instead, an unholy wail came out of nowhere, hitting all of the spawns and taking them out in one clean swoop. The green energy scream disipated once the slimes were gone, allowing Aang to look up and smile.
"Danny! What are you doing here?" The Avatar asked happily at seeing his flying ghost friend.
The two had met before, having been forced to work together when Professor Calamodus captured several heroes in order to make toy figurines out of them. Aang was among those caputed, and once he had been freed, he and the others who had broken out of the toy factory fought the professor's army of toys.
Aang was glad to see the ghost boy fine and well after that battle, but it did not explain why he was all the way over at Republic city instead of Amity Park.
"Aang. Good to see you." Danny Phantom said as he landed. "Jimmy contacted me early. Those slime things apparently are attacking several places!"
"Really?" Toph gasped.
"Yeah. Amity Park was attacked early. There's a pod thing that fell out of the sky there and everything." Danny sighed. "Some landed Downstate in Townsville, too, from what I heard."
"That's terrible! Just what are these things?" Aang wondered.
"Another experiement of some crazy mad scientist gone wrong again?" Toph guessed.
"No. Apparently, the working theory is aliens." Danny explained.
"Aliens?" Aang frowned nervously.
"Yeah. Not really my department. That's more up Ben 10's alley." Danny forced out a laugh. "But Jimmy in calling some of us to help out in cleaning up these alien freaks. We're all heading to Dexlabs to discuss with Dexter and his team."
"Can I come? As the Avatar, I have a duty to help defend the world from threats like this. Especially if they decided to attack my home." Aang said.
"Let me come, too. I'd be bored waiting here for news." Toph smiled widely and viciously.
"Sounds good to me. The more helping hands we can get, the better." Danny nodded. "But do you guys have a way to fly that far?"
"We have a ride, yeah." Aang smiled before he put his fingers in his mouth to whistle.
Upon whistling, a large flying bison flee overhead before landing next to the three. Aang smiled as he ran up to the bison to give it a hug, all while Danny stared in amazement. Toph, meanwhile, just sighed as she followed after Aang.
"I know Apa is the best way for us to travel, but I never liked flying." Toph grumbled. "So who else is helping us out, ghost boy?"
"From what I know, Jimmy is trying to contact people we've worked with before with things like this. Spongebob, Tak, Timmy, me and Sam. He's also gonna try to contact other heroes we know. Dexter is probablly gonna do the same with people from Townsville."
"That's a lot of people. Is that really necessary for these slime dudes?" The earthbender asked.
"If things are as bad as they were over at Amity Park, then yeah. It's necessary." Danny frowned.
"What the heck is going on!?"
Back over in the Suburbs of Townsville, chaos was ensuing as Numbuh Five blasted the slime monsters that were starting to surround her and the other Sector V KND operatives.
"They just appeared outta nowhere!" Numbuh Two shouted as he shot his own monsters around him.
"Numbuh Four! Call for immediate back up, now! Numbuh three! Fix communications and get in contact with the Moonbase!" Numbuh One ordered, panic evident in his voice.
"Communications are down with the Moonbase, Numbuh One! We can't call them!" Numbuh Three shouted in terror.
"There's too many of 'em for us to beat on our own! What should we do Numbuh One!?" Numbuh Four added before he grabbed his mustard gun and started blasting the monsters getting close to him.
"Why haven't the treehouse's defenses activated yet!?" Numbuh One asked in frustration.
"They destroyed the system after they infiltrated the base!" Numbuh Two shouted after he had rushed over to his monitor. "The Treehouse won't hold much longer!"
Numbuh One gulped as he looked around for an escape path.
"There! Quickly, guys! We need to get to the hanger! we can use the S.C.A.M.P.E.R to escape!"
The other kids followed their leader's lead and rushed up the stairs while blasting any monsters that were coming close to them. Eventually they reached the hanger and rushed over to their S.C.A.M.P.E.R, however, the hundreds upon hundreds of monsters following them was too much for the floor to handle.
Just as Numbuhs One, Three, and Four made it to the ship, part of the floor gave way, causing Numbuhs Two and Five to fall along with the monsters.
"Abby! Hoagie!" Numbuh One shouted as his friends fell.
"Gotcha!"
Just as Numbuh One thought his friends and allies were about to meet their end, two streaks of red and blue entered the treehouse and caught the KND members.
"It's the Powerpuff Girls!" Numbuh Three shouted in delight, her face lighting up at the sight of her favorite superheroes.
"Perfect timing you two!" Numbuh One shouted with a huge grin of relief.
Blossom and Bubbles set Numbuhs Two and Five down, the two girls turned back to face the newly formed monsters coming out of the pod that was beside the treehouse.
"You guys stay here while we deal with these things!" Blossom shouted as she and Bubbles flew towards the pod at immense speeds.
"Wait, aren't there three of them?" Numbuh Two asked as the two superheroes flew off. "Where's-?"
"Ixnay on the uttercupbay…" Numbuh Five muttered as she smacked Hoagie upside the head.
The Powerpuff girls reached the pod and quickly took out the monsters using Blossom's ice breath and Bubble's eye lasers. After disposing of the creatures they set their sights on the pod making them.
Blossom flew right up to it and gave it a mighty punch, taking a huge chunk of the pod off before Bubbles flew straight through the pod, giving it a massive hole in the middle. Just when they thought they were down, the pod immediately started to regenerate, and the tendrils that were connected to it began twisting around Bubbles and tightening around her.
"This is gonna be harder than we thought!" Bubbles shouted as she fought against her restraints. Blossom was about to rush in to help her sister when a laser shot down from above them and cut the tendrils that were holding Bubbles.
"And it's going to get a lot harder…"
Blossom looked up to see a very familiar giant robot that belonged to one of her friends and old classmates. The two girls smiled as the robot landed near the tree house. The pod seemed to become inactive once the battle was over, but they couldn't be sure of that, so the two heroines landed where the KND were waiting, and Dexter came out of his robot soon after.
"Dexter! I'm glad to see you!" Blossom gave a sigh of relief.
"But what's the owner of Dexlabs doing here of all places?" Numbuh One asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I came for the same reason as the girls." Dexter explained as he gestured to the pod just outside the KND treehouse. "That pod that planted itself next to your base is directly connected to the one that landed in Goat's Junk Yard, and it seems to be connected to others. I went to investigate the one in Goat's Junkyard and follow the trail here."
"There are more of those suckers?" Numbuh 5 asked as a deep frown formed on her lips.
"Indeed. My readings showed that numerous of these pods have landed on the earth's surface. Three landed here in Townsville, and the other three landed further Upstate." Dexter explained. "From what I can tell, they seem to have landed here in Sector V, Goat's Junkyard, Townsville Park, Bikini Atoll, Amity Park, and the newly built Republic City."
"So it's a full on alien invasion, then? Great. Just great…" Numbuh 4 groaned with a snarl, crossing his arms at the horrible situation they found themselves in.
"Is there anything we can do to help?" Bubbles asked nervously, but still determined despite that worry.
"Yes. having as many allies as possible would make creating e a plan of action against these…creatures much easier." Dexter explained. "I've already had Computress reports make reports about what little we know on the pods, but it seems they'll just keep regenerating no matter what happens to them."
"So brute force is out. So what is the plan then?" Blossom asked. Dexter placed his hand on his chin as he thought for a bit before he shook his head.
"I don't know...yet." He answered. "All I know is that this is bigger than any of us. I'm have already contacted other geniuses such as Professor Utonium and Neutron to ask for their assistance, as well as many others, and once we're all together, we'll discuss our next course of action."
"Then you can count on Sector V to help. We've lost our connection to the KND bases on the bases on the other planets after Earth, and we've even lost our connection to the Moonbase. This must be far more serious than just these pods. I'll need to contact the other Sectors to see if they're experiencing stuff like this as well. Perhaps I can get some more operatives who might be able to help us out." Numbuh told the boy genius.
"Sounds like a plan. Let's head back to Tech Square. We can discuss more about this at my laboratory. Neutron should be arriving with his team soon as well." Dexter told the group as they started heading out.
Dexter couldn't help but fear for the worst. He had never seen such a large-scale attack, but at the same time, these came from an object that was still heading towards the planet. Just what exactly is that main object that sent these pods? And what are the pods' true purpose? Dexter only hoped he was smart enough to figure it all out before something truly terribly could happen.
"Hmph. This is hardly a job for us. Shouldn't that alien hero be helping us at least?" Numbuh 4 asked with a grumble.
"If you are referring to Tennyson, then yes. He will be aiding us as well." Dexter told the KND operative. "Right now, he is…busy with something, or so I have been told."
Spongebob Squarepants was most certainly not having the best day ever right now.
Things were supposed to be normal today. Spongebob woke up and went to work at the Krusty Krab, and after having the best time every making all those krabby patties, Spongebob was heading home to further enjoy his day.
Then that icky green pod fell into the ocean and landed right in the middle of the city. Spongebob was there when it landed and planted itself within the ocean seabed, he was there when the strange alien creatures began to pour out of the thing like a swarm.
Bikini Bottom was immediately thrown into a panic as everyone began screaming and running for their lifes as the creatures attacked. For his part, Spongebob did what any good citizen would do.
"KA-RAH-TAE!" The sponge shouted as he slammed his foam karate glove through several of the creatures.
The square sponge of bobs and pants was more than an ordinary sea sponge. He was a hero! Or, well, could be considered a hero by some. After all, he was the one who stopped Plankton's plans involving those bucket helmets and that robot invasion, and that wasn't mentioning the adventures he had with his friends, Jimmy, Timmy, and Danny. Spongebob was sure he could handle a few pesky aliens.
"Ha! Hoooo ha! Hiiiii-ha!" Spongebob cried out as he slapped several of the spawns with his karate moves. "Oh, boy. There sure are a lot more of these things than I thought there would be."
That was certainly true. With each glob of slime Spongebob cut through, five more would jump out of that pod. Bob couldn't even get close to the pod to attack it with how many creatures it was spawning.
"Oooh…if only my friends were here to help me." Spongebob exclaimed.
Just as he said that, as though the universe had heard his call, a blast of energy shot through the water and hit several of the spawns. Spongebob gaped when he saw this and turned to see where the shot came from, only to find himself smiling widely at the familiar boy genius in red there, prepped and ready to help.
"Jimmy!"
"I see you've been dealing with these creatures as well, Spongebob." Jimmy Neutron said as he continued to fire his hand-crafted blaster, helping the sea sponge in destroying the invaders. "I knew there would be several of these creatures here, but I never imagined there would be so many and that they could trive under water like this."
"Speaking of which, how are you okay down here? Did you use more of that oxygen gum you guys used last time you were down here in Bikini Bottom?" Spongebob asked.
"Yep. New formula, too. Much better than last time." Jimmy smiled. "But enough about that. We need to beat this things before they destroy more of the city."
"How are we gonna do that? There are only two of us."
"No. There are three." Jimmy smiled as something swam past him very quickly.
A large alien-looking fish creature with a mermaid tail swam towards several of the creatures and slashed through them with his sharp, webbed claws before opening up its giant maw to crush another with a powerful bite. Of course, right after doing that, the creature began to gag as it spat out the slime that was in its mouth.
"Eww! Gross! Bad idea. Very bad idea!" The creature complained as it wiped its hands across its tongue to remove any more gunk that was there. "Should not have chosen Ripjaws for this. This is worse than when I took a bite out of vilgax that one time."
"Heeeeey…isn't that–?"
"The famous Ben 10? Yes." Jimmy nodded to the sapient sponge. "He was near the area, so I got in contact with him and asked if he could help out with things here."
"Woah… I've never seen him in person before." Spongebob gasped as he watched the alien hero do his thing. "Well, just because he's here doesn't mean we shouldn't help out."
"Certainly. Let's give Tennyson some aid." Jimmy said as he readied his blaster. "Once we're done here, we'll head to Townsville to figure out how to get rid of these things."
"Sounds like a plan, Jimmy!" Spongebob smiled as he readied his red foam gloves again. "When we work together, there's nothing we can't do!"
"Your certainly optimistic about this."
"Of course." Spongebob smiled as he and the boy genius jumped into action. "I mean, things can't get much worse than this, can it?"
Unsurprisingly, things could very easily get much much worse.
As mentioned before, one of the pods had landed in Townsville Park, and the monsters created from that pod were already swarming the city, including Townsville Prison, which was right next to the park. Monsters had broken into the building and had started attacking everything in sight, whether guards or prisoners.
The guards tried to kill the little menaces, but while they could kill a few with their guns, there were just too many monsters for them to fight alone. And worse of all, the monsters were starting to eat anything in sight. Parts of the walls, bits of metal...people.
It was complete chaos, and everything they touched became covered in that disgusting slime that the creatures were made out of. And all of the monsters that ate something began to transform as well, changing into new creatures that had forms based on the thing they ate. Monsters made of slime and cement, monsters now in metal bodies, and most horrifying, monsters now infecting and turning the prisoners eaten into slime infected monsters themselves.
The guards were becoming quickly overwhelmed by the constant surge of monsters swarming through the prison. Their guns were already doing little against the small, regenerating monsters, but they were becoming even more useless against the newly formed creatures. A few guards had been eaten or killed already, and others ran for their lives.
And if that wasn't bad enough, somewhere in the attack, the invaders somehow shut down the power, meaning all the electronically locked prison doors all swung open. So not only were the guards having to deal with aliens, they also had to deal with escape convicts.
"I don't get paid enough to deal with this!" Poor Matt screamed as he, polietly speaking, freaked the heck out.
He had gotten separated from the other guards, whom he didn't even know were still alive at this point. He was all by himself as he found himself forced up against a wall, surrounded by slime monsters, each one glaring at him hungrily as they beared their surprisingly sharp-looking teeth.
Matt was certain of it. He was going to die here. Eaten by these monsters. Why did his life end up like this? Why was he here, about to be eaten? What did he do wrong?
He didn't get any answers as the creatures had enough waiting and lunged at him, ready to tear him to pieces. Matt shut his eyes closed, bracing for the pain to engulf him.
But there was no pain. All there was in that small space he was trapped in…was loud splatting noises. Slowly, Matt opened his eyes, only to find that the creatures that were about to eat him were destroyed, having been reduced to slimy green puddles.
Matt was confused as to how they were destroyed, but then–
"Are you okay?"
Matt suddenly felt relief as the tightness in his chest diappeared. Someone had come to save him! Someone did save him. For the first time after he was employed at this forsaken prison, Matt felt as though he had found hope and salvation.
"Yeah. Thank you for sa–"
And then the words of gratitude got caught in Matt's throat as that hope and feeling of salvation died a gruesome death. He hadn't been saved. Not at all. No, he had been tossed from one tragic demise right into an arguably even worse one.
There, standing a few feet across from him, was a young man with dark hair and a black metal blindfold locked onto his face.
There in front of him was Izayoi Scarlet, the one criminal Matt prayed hadn't managed to escape his cell. He looked like an angel of death within the red hue of the emergency power lights that flashed on and off. Even while his eyes were covered, Matt could only stare at the boy's face, feeling as though he was being looked through like a worthless obstacle that could easily be destroyed.
"I-I…I d-don't…" Matt couldn't find any words to say. What could he say when faced with this terrifying being. A being even scarrier to Matt than those strange green aliens.
The boy, Izayoi, didn't seem aggressive, though. Perhaps it was due to the blindfold covering his eyes, but the boy could not fully show how he felt in the situation. All he could show was the small neutral frown on his lips as he waited for a response.
It was at that moment everything came crashing down around Matt.
"I'm not paid enough to deal with this." Matt muttered almost unconciously before that frustrated feeling came bursting out of him. "I've had it with this place! I never signed up for this! I'm not gonna die in this place like this!"
Angrily and fearing for his life, Matt took out the baton all the guards were given and threw it at the boy. The baton spun rapidly as it approached the young criminal, only for the blindfolded boy to side step right before the weapon hit him, dodging the baton with ease.
Izayoi didn't move much more after that, nor did he say anything. He just stood still as Matt ran away in his panic, having used the baton as a distraction. With the guard gone, Izayoi Scarlet was left alone.
"...I suppose that's an understandable response. Things aren't going so well from what little I can tell." The criminal muttered quietly, little emotion in his tone as he spoke. "Those things…the slime beings? They seem to be everywhere. He should escape while he can. Things are bound to get worse from here."
Wasn't that the truth? Those things had infiltrated the entire buildings, and they've killed several people already, whether guards or prisoner. Even Izayoi was attacked in his cell. He had been hoping to weather the storm in his isolated room, ignoring all the screams and the sickly noises of flesh tearing and splatting around that came from outside his cell. But then the power broke, and his cell door opened, letting those things in.
Left with no choice, Izayoi did what he had to do, but he wasn't quite sure why he 'had to'.
Even as he stood in the prison hallway, away from his cell which was now covered in the slime of those now-very-dead creatures, Izayoi did not know why he had chosen to fight for his survival. All he had to defend himself were the plastic utensils they gave him to eat those bland, tasteless meals. Why was he fighting for his life even now when he did not have a real weapon to defend himself with?
What really was the point in fighting? What was the point in living? Wouldn't it be easier to just let whatever happens happen? Wouldn't it be better for everyone? It's not like anyone would care about an inhuman monster like him.
Those were the questions still jumbling in his mind as he kept moving blindly through the halls. He had no answers, but still his body pressed him to move on.
There was no purpose to his life anymore. There was no point in him anymore. Those thoughts kept rebounding in his head over and over and over.
But even with that thought cemented within his soul, Izayoi still found himself making his way to where he heard that baton that was thrown at him had landed. He felt around for it and quickly grasped the weapon within his hands.
He felt it out, having no sight to take in the details of the metal rod. From touching it, he knew it was thin but sturdy. Not short, but not very long, being around arm's length. Worst of all, it was light. Extremely so. Izayoi frowned ever so slightly as he tested the weapon within his grip.
"Not my prefered weapon of choice, but I guess it'll do. Better than plastic forks and knives." He sighed.
The thing that still carried the name 'Izayoi Scarlet' did not have any purpose left in his life. That much even he could see. Even he knew it would be better for everyone if he just let the end come for him.
However, there was still something he had to do. Something that caused him to refuse to die.
Dying was easy. Dying was the easy way out of his situation, and a creature such as him had no right to take the easy way out. He was to atone for everything for the rest of his life and rot until he had faded away entirely and properly. That's why he was here.
So to do just that, these invaders needed to go. In order for him to return to where he belonged, he had to put an end to those monsters. Even if it made things harder for people if he remained alive, he felt as though he had to live in order to be punished.
It was his duty as a fellow monster to end other monsters. So he would, and then he would return to his rightful punishment. He would do so until his life finally, properly came to an end.
Thus, Izayoi continued moving forward, slowly stalking the halls as he searched for his prey. Blind though he may be, that would not prevent him from slaying his targets. Clicking his tongue and whistling every so often, Izayoi moved through the prison with ease despite having no sight to aid him.
As he moved, Izayoi laid out a mental map of the area, marking off points in his mind that he had covered as he dispatched any spawns he came across. The spawns were hardly an issue. They were almost mindless in how they acted, and, fortunately, they were loud. Every movement they made created sloshing within their slimy bodies. It was as though they were creatures of living liquid, and that made them the perfect oponent for Izayoi, who had to rely on all his other senses to get by.
Of course, the spawns were not the only monsters in the building anymore. The monsters evolved and adapted to whatever they consumed, so Izayoi found himself on several occassions running into creatures that were far different from the mindless spawns. Creatures with humaniod shapes, creatures made of cement and plaster, creatures of metal with cell bars sticking out of them. There were several version, and they all fell to Izayoi.
All he had to do was listen. When he had found a batch of spawns, all he had to do was stand still as they quickly realized he was there. Upon noticing him, the spawns would lunge at him, thinking him a new meal for them to devour. They would be quickly dispatched as Izayoi then cut through them with the baton. Dashing in between them, Izayoi found them much to slow as he bashed them with his blunt weapon.
While the baton was much to light for Izayoi's taste, it was still an effective bludgeoning weapon or bat to use to knock the slimes away, and with fast enough swing, it could cut just as easily as any blade through the liquidy body of these aliens. They would always let out a weak, gruggled cried as the boy tore through them, but he paid them no mind. Even when a humanoid creature came up from behind him, Izayoi did not hesitate to spin the baton around in his grip and stab the monster behind him.
The humanoid creatures, the beings who had once been human or so it seemed, let out death cries that were much more human. It did not stop Izayoi from slaying them, but it also did nothing to the small trembles that would only brief appear in his fingers upon hearing those cries.
After only an hour, Izayoi must have slain several dozen of these aliens, and he was starting to become weary. He hadn't exerted himself since before he had been arrest, and now it appeared that he had gotten rusty judging by how his weakened muscles began to burn.
That did not stop the sick sensation of pride the briefly flashed within his system whenever he cut appart a spawn with practiced ease, and with a handicap at that. That disgusting sense of pleasure and pride as he took in how even after years of isolation within a tiny room with nothing to do, the foundations of his skills still remained sent shivers down Izayoi's spine.
He loved this. He detested this. He was proud. He was ashamed. Feelings did not bring justice to the vile concoction of emotions he felt within these brief moments.
Izayoi felt his breath hitch as he found himself lowering down to his knees. His skin burned from the disgusting acid that splattered against his skin whenever he killed one of the spawns. He could tell the baton in his hand was at its limit too, acid having eaten away its structure, leaving behind remains of a weapon that would only last for so long. Izayoi didn't know how many he'd killed, but he knew he was far from finished.
But he had to keep moving. He didn't deserve to rest. He didn't deserve to leave it to someone else.
He forced himself back to his feet as he did his best to steady himself. His legs ached afrom the bites and wounds inflicted on him. This would be so much easier if he could see, but that wouldn't happened. He would rather it never happened, so he couldn't complain. Yet it was so hard to think like that when each breath felt difficult to take in.
That's when he heard it. More clittering and clanking and hissing and bubbling. More of those creatures had arrived. Izayoi let out a sigh at the noise.
"More…? Maybe you lot will tell me why you're here." Izayoi grumbled. "Probably not. You all are probably just monsters like the rest."
Izayoi then took a weary, slow step forward before almost flickering away to the perspective of the spawns. Within just a moment, Izayoi had flashed foward, appearing right in front of the spawns, erroded weapon at the ready. There was no powers involved in that act. Izayoi was simply that fast, despite being tired, rusty, and injured.
Another fight broke out between the monsters. Izayoi slashed and slashed endlessly, dodging whatever he could while still taking a bite or fleating blow here or there. It was getting harder and harder to keep fighting while on of his senses was a nonfactor, his lack of sight costing him more damage and more failed attacks the longer he fought even with his other increadibly sharp senses.
Izayoi began to feel the exertment of his aptrophic muscles as he began to pant more and more, his legs feeling more like jello the more he jumped around and dodged. His arms became heavier and heavier the more he swung his baton, which at this point had more similaries to a toothpick than a weapon.
Izayoi was on his last legs, but still he fought, because what else was he to do with himself?
'Maybe this is it. Perhaps this is the end of me.' Izayoi found himself thinking that as he killed off another spawn, only for what seemed like a dozen more to appear in its place. 'I wonder…'
Izayoi took another swing, but that last motion was the last straw for his baton, which snapped loudly after he hit the monster to his side. Izayoi immediately jumped away after hearing his weapon break, and after confirming his baton had snapped in half, he tossed the useless rod away ashe backed away from the slime creatures began to cackle to themselves as they inched closer to their prey. Izayoi kept his arms up, ready to keep fighting if necessary even though he knew how useless trying to fight these things with his bare hands would be.
Izayoi kept inching backwards to create more and more space. He tried to come up with something he could do in order to get out of this. He tried coming up with reasons for why he even should. Too much was happening all at once. His heart was pounding. He didn't know what to do.
Thankfully, he wouldn't have to do anything.
Suddenly, a noise shot out from behind Izayoi. Something large that buzzed like a drill shot past him, and less than a second later, splattering noises popped around where the spawns were. Izayoi was shocked, but that didn't stop him from focusing on what he could hear.
The buzzing sound that was still splattering the spawns…It sounded like a saw of some kind, cutting through the monsters with ease. He could hear the gurgled screams of the creatures before they were sliced and sawed to pieces, their acidic bodies splattering against the walls, ceiling, and floor as they were disposed of.
After the buzzing sound stopped, it was replaced by heavy slams, the sound of metal sliding against metal and rocks, and a sound similar to listening to a plane. More screams from the aliens cried out before quickly being silence. And then…silence. Silence engulfed the hallway…except for that plane-like noise. It didn't seem to be moving anymore, now sounding like a flame from a welder, but that soon stopped as well, leading to one last heavy thunk that rang out a few feet away from Izayoi.
Izayoi was on edge. He now had no idea what was in the hall with him. It sounded like a weapon of some kind, but who was wielding it? His body was already tense, but his nerves spiked in paranoia when whatever it was with him started to get closer, heavy thunks clanging out with each heavy step whatever-it-was took.
Izayoi's breathing hastened as his muscles tightened, ready to reach out and strike should whatever this was prove to be another foe. But then–
"Hey, you alright? You look a bit worse for wear."
A voice, one Izayoi was not expecting to hear. It was a youthful voice belonging to a girl. It was full of cheer and confidence despite the alien slaughter that just happened. Whoever this was didn't seem to be fazed by the monsters or the slaying of them. She must be used to it. Was this person the one wielding whatever weapon was used to kill those spawns?
"Hey, can you hear me? I know you can't see me with that blindfold straped on your face, but your ears must still work if you were able to survive up til now." The woman said while waving…something in front of Izayoi's face.
Just from the noise it made, Izayoi knew it was something metalic in nature. The way it creaked and bent and shook sounded like someone shaking pieces of metal. But this sound wasn't as rigged as that. It was more of a flexible sound, like the metal could bend naturally.
"You…can't see, right? That is a blindfold on you, right?" The woman asked, a bit unsure now as she spoke. "Geez, I don't even know if you're listening to me…"
The woman definitely sounded young. A teenager if that whine in her voice was any indication. But what she said made something click in Izayoi's mind.
His hand shot out and grabbed whatever it was being waved in front of him, getting a gasp from the girl.
"H-Hey!"
Izayoi ignored her as he examined what he had grabbed, quickly painting a picture in his head as he felt whatever it was he had in his hands.
He was touching metal, but it wasn't a single smooth piece of metal. It was segments that were attatched together, forming a shape. Dragging his hand along it, Izayoi realized what this was. It was an arm, and at the end of that arm was a metal hand.
"I get it now." Izayoi muttered as he let go of the hand, the girl he had grabbed taking a few heavy steps back once she was let go. "You're that robot I've heard about. The hero of Tremorton: X-J9. Jenny Wakeman."
"You know who I am?" The girl, Jenny, asked in a questioning and cautious voice.
"Do you know any other teenage girl heroes who are robots?" Izayoi asked simply before letting out a sigh. "What are you doing on this side of the pond? Shouldn't you be upstate?"
"Reasons. Nothing you need to know." Jenny pointedly replied.
"Easy there. I'm not planning anything. Can't do much when I can't see." Izayoi raised his hands defensively before shrugging and dropping his arms. "Was just curious. I mean, I doubt you would fly all the way to Townsville just to handle these monsters unless it was really bad out there. It's…It's not that bad out there, is it? These things only attacked the prison for some reason, yeah?"
"It's…complicated. No really knows what's going on." Jenny admitted, a bit of nervousness being revealed in her tone. "Forget it. Uh…are you okay? Like I said earlier, you don't look too good. You look really hurt."
Oh great. She's doing the hero thing.
"I'll live." Izayoi flatly stated before moving past Jenny. "I just make your job easier and go back to my cell. No reason for an escaped convict to be out and about when a heroes here. You can handle the rest of these things. Don't worry, I won't try to escape. Can't see where I'm going and I have no idea where the exit is. Rather just take a nap on my bed anyway."
"H-Hey, wait! You can't-!"
"I know you probably don't trust me, but really, I like my cell. So I'll be a good inmate and just lock myself up. You just gotta get rid of any more of those monsters, round up any of the remaining escaped prisoners, and then–"
"I don't think there's anyone here I need to worry about." Jenny cut him off, a bit of pain in her voice. That made Izayoi stop as he turned back around to face her.
"What do you mean?"
"I…didn't arrive here until a few minutes ago. The attack started an hour ago if these things landed the same time that the others did. I…took a look around, and…if the people here, the guards or prisoners, haven't already escaped, then…I don't think they made it. Those monsters were…brutal…and cruel. I…saw that they changed based on…what they eat, and I saw some of them with…human shapes."
"...Oh." Izayoi blankly spoke, as if still processing.
But he understood immediately. His fellow inmates were either long gone…or gone in a much more gruesome sense. He understood that, and all he could he respond with was a small 'oh'.
"Then…I'm the last one here, aren't I?" He asked.
"I think so." Jenny nodded.
"I see…" Izayoi sighed before giving a single nod. "Well, I guess I can put myself in any cell then."
"Huh?"
"What's it matter if they're all vacant now? Either way, you won't have to worry. I'll tuck myself into a little cell, close the door, then stay there until the prison can fix whatever happened. It's not my problem." Izayoi dismissed as he started walking away.
"H-Hang on! Y-You can't stay here by yourself! It's dangerous! What if more of those things show up."
"Then I guess I'll join the other inmates down below." Izayoi grumbled. There was not a hint of frustration or bitterness in his tone. It was simply empty. He was merely stating a fact, nothing more. He knew it wasn't personal. He would agree if he were in everyone else's shoes. "Not like anyone would care. They'd probably be happy if I bite it in the end."
"Okay, no."
Izayoi then felt a cold, metallic hand grab his shoulder, turning him back around suddenly. So suddenly he would have blinked a few times in confusion if he had been able to see. He then felt the hand drag him towards the robot, nearly making him stumble before robotic hands wrapped around him.
"Uh…I don't need an escort." Izayoi told her with a frown.
"I think you do, since I'm not letting you stay here where you could die. I wouldn't be a good hero if I left you here to fend for yourself, all injured like that with monsters prowling around." Jenny said as she tightened her grip on Izayoi.
"Why do you care? I'm a inmate here. A monstrous criminal who has done inhuman things. If I were an adult, I'd have been given the death penalty, I'm sure of it." Izayoi explained.
"Still can't leave you here. That wouldn't be humane of me."
"But you aren't human…"
"I'm going to pretend you didn't say that. Now stop arguing. I'm taking you with me so you can get patched up before we figure out what to do with you."
"You could just leave me here. That'd be the easy thing to do."
"But it wouldn't be right."
Izayoi could almost hear her rolling her eyes with the tone she gave him as she carried him off like a sack of potatoes. He could have struggled, and he did feel a bit humiliated being treated like this, but considering this was a superhero robot who could destroy giant country-sized meteors. What hope did he have of breaking out of her hold.
So, with a heavy sigh, he let himself dangle from Jenny's side as she carried him out of the prison, at least he assumed she carried him out of the building since he heard a few doors open before feeling a slight breeze. That's when he heard her body shift before he felt himself suddenly flying away.
So this was happening… Sigh… Why couldn't he just stay in his cell like a good inmate?
A/N: This is my Fusionfall OC story, but it's more than that. It's also Fusionfall/CartoonNetwork x Nicktoons, because why not? I like the idea that all these cartoon characters and worlds are just connected together like in those Cartoon Network City bumpers back in the day.
For those not in the know, Fusionfall was this Cartoon Network MMO that was around when I was a kid. I loved it, and it was the first game/series that introduced me to more Anime based art styles since this was before I got into Dragon Ball thanks to my dad. The game shows all these cartoons in a fun, yet also dark atmosphere due to the plot, and it works surprisingly well. So I took an old OC that I needed to work on and threw him into this story. I'm hoping to really show off those dark elements Fusionfall brings to the table, while still keeping things light and funny, since this is a world of cartoons.
This is more of a prologue, so not much happens, but I think it still shows the premise of the story well enough.
