First Equestria Girls is finally over! Season 4 on the horizon!
He slammed the door open to the boutique, his face still rather scared as the others were stunned from his appearance.
"Sugarcube? Are ya alright?" Applejack asked in worry while having her dress fitted. Malibu shook his head no, sitting down on a chair.
"Sunset nearly tried to-to- it…" A small sob suddenly came from his throat, curling up there on the chair. Fluttershy's eyes looked sad, walking over to him, and putting a hand on his shoulder. "I'm so sorry Malibu. This just shows Sunset's true colors to us all." She said gently, the others nodding right as the door banged open yet again.
Malibu jumped when seeing Twilight rush inside with Spike, quickly going into a changing room. He stood up to check on her since she really wasn't changing it was alright.
"Twilight? Can I come in? Are you alright?" He called out as she nodded from behind the curtain, allowing him in.
The clone sat down next to her as she looked rather flustered. "I'm not really ok. I just heard the Fall Formal won't be until tomorrow!" She whispered softly in panic.
That caused Malibu's blood to grow cold. If they didn't get the crown, it would mean… "W-We'd be stuck here then!" Malibu swallowed, not liking the idea of being trapped in this human body that wasn't his.
Twilight nodded. "We won't be able to go home for another 30 moons!" She sobbed, hiding her head in her legs, curled into a fetal position. "Oh, what are we gonna do?"
Spike tapped his chin. "Hmm. We tell them the truth. Let them know what's really at stake if we don't get the crown tonight. They'll help us figure something out."
Malibu however didn't like that. "The girls would probably freak if the learn I was not really a human, nor a pony," He said shakily. Twilight agreed with him. "And me being a pony too."
Spike smiled. "Twilight, these girls rallied around you 'cause they saw you had a good spirit. They aren't gonna feel any differently about you when they find out you're a pony princess in Equestria, and that you Malibu are a gargoyle."
Malibu sighed and swallowed. "I hope you're right." He replied, while Twilight petted Spike. "I'm glad you followed us here, Spike."
The baby dragon nodded. "Me too. Unless of course we get stuck here for another 30 moons."
The three of them walked out from the changing room, looking down at the floor.
Applejack looked at them in worry. "You okay?"
Malibu shook his head. "Not really. The Fall Formal isn't happening tonight." He revealed.
Pinkie's eyes popped. "WHAT?!" She shrieked.
Twilight glared. "It had to be postponed because Sunset Shimmer had Snips and Snails ruin all of Pinkie Pie's decorations.
"WHAT?!" Pinkie shrieked again, her voice ringing in Malibu's ears.
Malibu spoke next. "But the Fall Formal has to happen tonight."
"WHA—?!" Applejack had covered up Pinkie Pie's mouth from having her screaming again. Malibu nodded to Twilight, who took a breath. "You see…"
Pinkie Pie pushed down Applejack's hand and said something that stunned Malibu to an extent. "You're both from an alternate world and you're a pony princess there and the crown actually has a magical element embedded in it that helps power up other magical elements, and without it, they don't work anymore, and you need them to help protect your magical world, and if you don't get the crown tonight, you two will be stuck in this world and won't be able to get back for, like, a really really long time! And also, Malibu's not actually a pony but a gargoyle from yet another alternate universe who is one of the magical element bearers!" She finished, giving a squee afterward along with a huge smile.
Both Twilight and Malibu's jaws dropped down in complete shock, as well as Spike. How the hell did she know?! And knowing Malibu himself was a gargoyle?! "Bu-Bu-Bu…" Malibu couldn't have any words, feeling himself about to faint.
Rainbow Dash folded her arms. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that isn't the reason," She huffed. Spike then decided to speak now. "Nope, she's pretty much spot on."
Rarity's eyes popped, gripping her hair. "He can TALK?!"
Spike walked up to her, grinning. "Oh, yeah! And back where I come from, I'm not a dog! I'm a ferocious fire breathing dragon!" He revealed, grinning rather smugly, that made Malibu chuckle lightly despite being stunned from Pinkie Pie's reveal.
Fluttershy shoved Rarity out of the way. "This is so amazing!" She gasped. "Tell me! What are you thinking right now?" Spike tilted his head in confusion from Fluttershy's excited face before going back to Rarity. "Sure would love a scratch behind the old ears," He suggested.
Rarity couldn't talk. "Gah…" She croaked. Spike then looked down. "Uh, maybe later."
Twilight herself couldn't believe she knew it all. "How did you know all that?"
"Just a hunch!" Pinkie Pie stated, shrugging her shoulders. Malibu folded his arms. That's quite a hunch, he thought inwardly.
Applejack blinked. "Wait a minute! Lemme get this straight. You're a pony, and you're a gargoyle?"
"You're both royalty?" Rarity breathed in awe.
"You're from other worlds?" Fluttershy asked next. Malibu and Twilight both nodded nervously, smiling in fear.
Rainbow Dash kept the glare on her face. "That… is… awesome!" She then cried out happily, shouting her trademark word.
Malibu let out a sigh of relief he didn't know he was holding now that the girls were more accepting than they were before, asking them both questions but mostly Malibu since he was basically from two worlds, from the first human world at least. He wondered how they would react at seeing the versions of humans were since they were all either light or brown colored.
The Humane 7 returned to the gym where the friends saw how damaged the place was with the broken party decor. Rarity herself was the most angry. "I simply cannot believe they did all this!" She huffed.
Pinkie Pie nodded. "If I only had some kind of… party cannon that could decorate everything super fast!"
Malibu grinned. "Actually your pony counterpart has one. It's pretty cool," He told her, making Pinkie squee again, jumping up and down at the thought.
Twilight turned to them. "I know it seems impossible. But, maybe if we all work together?"
Applejack agreed to that. "Now that's the kinda can-do spirit I'm lookin' for in a Fall Formal Princess! Let's do it, y'all!"
They all got together for a hand wave. "For sure!" Malibu cheered.
"Absolutely!"
"Rock on!"
"Yes, indeedily!"
"Yay!" Fluttershy finished in her whisper cheer. All nodding, the friends went to work in cleaning up the place. He sure missed using magic and flying to help out in this kind of work but was glad to have friends for it.
Soon the rest of the school happened to come along seeing that they all needed more help, startling Malibu but welcomed it, happy to see all the groups able to put aside their differences and work together, wondering how Sunset Shimmer would respond to all this, grinning.
After the gym was finally cleaned up and the dance floor back in order, the Humane 7 stood proudly looking out at what they did, cheering from the accomplishment, Celestia having come in at that moment.
Pinkie jumped into the air again."This… looks… soooo GOOD!" She shrieked as Celestia clapped her hands. "Alright, everyone! Fall Formal is back on for this evening."
The students especially Malibu all cheered. He was looking forward to going home and back in his mother's embrace, missing her pony form greatly. "Oh, and don't forget to cast your ballots for the Fall Formal Princess on your way out!" Celestia added in.
Filing out the students put in their vote cards. "You got my vote, Twilight!" One boy exclaimed, others saying the same thing. Malibu wished he can be happy about the votes but was still scared that somehow Sunset could probably rig this election to have it win in her favor, unaware she had seen the whole thing.
Sunset watched, growling silently. "You're lucky the two were able to pull this off. Next time I ask you to make a mess of things, try to show a little restraint!" She snapped at Snips and Snails before smiling sadistically. "I need this Fall Formal to go on tonight just as much as she does."
….
Back at the boutique the 7 friends and Spike all were pretty pleased with their accomplishments and Malibu now felt ready to go to a party.
Fluttershy was in awe. "I still can't believe we pulled that off!"
Rainbow grinned while bumping Malibu playfully on the arm who flushed but continued to keep himself from wanting to kiss her. This wasn't the Rainbow Dash he fell in love with in Equestria. "I can! We're awesome!"
Rarity smiled when pulling out some dresses. "Enough chatter you all. We need to get ready, and we need to look fabulous!"
She threw the dresses to each one except Malibu. Rarity then realized he needed some kind of formal suit, looking through her closet if she had anything for a man, until finally Rarity came across a pretty formal looking tux. "Here darling, try this on for size!" She offered, Malibu taking it, a little smile on his face from her generosity.
"Er, thanks. I'll just go in here." Malibu stepped into the dressing room to do himself up while the girls did their own outfits outside, not wanting to watch them undress.
After he was done, he came out looking rather ready to go to a party, eyes widening when seeing all of his female friends now in their most beautiful looking human dresses. When the girls spotted him, Rarity gave a squeal of admiration at how handsome he looked while he waved shyly at them all. "Let's party, y'all!" Applejack cheered, jumping in the air. The friends all agreed as they left, seeing a limo for the Fall Formal outside waiting for them.
Malibu never thought he could ride in a car like this having seen limos on the tv in the Labyrinth, stepping inside after taking a breath of nervousness, hoping to all hope they can win this thing.
…..
Soon the limo drove up to the school the Humane 7 all coming out laughing and talking about how much fun they will be having until Malibu spotted another car coming along, and Flash Sentry getting out.
He remained, wondering what Flash wanted but did his best to let his guard down around him since Flash did save his life. Flash waved to Twilight. "Twilight!" He ran up to her. "Look, I know you said 'no' about going to the Fall Formal dance with me, but would you reconsider and at least have one dance?"
Twilight's eyes were big and looked awkward, rubbing her neck. Malibu glanced between them. What happened while he had been gone that time? "I didn't say 'no'. I mean, I did but… I didn't mean no to you." She said nervously, a hand on Flash's chest. "I was… well, what I mean is…" Twilight flushed before soon smiling. "Yes. I'd love to dance with you."
Malibu felt a smile but also a slight twinge of jealousy, wishing Equestrian Rainbow Dash could be here to dance with him now, nodding to Twilight to go and have fun while he stepped in, being greeted by loud party music, suddenly feeling small, swallowing.
He crept through the crowd, wanting to find his friends, sometimes accidentally bumping into other people until he tripped, yelping, before having Rainbow catch him.
Rainbow grinned playfully. "Gotta watch your step at these things," She teased, Malibu flushing as dark as Twilight, quickly standing up.
"Uh, er, th-thanks. S-some party huh?" He asked, stomach all fluttery and nauseous. Rainbow Dash nodded, her eyes still looking playful. For ever since seeing Malibu, the human Dash felt some small crush on him.
"For sure." Rainbow replied, holding out her hand. "Would you like to do a dance?"
Malibu shook, not sure he'd dare with this version of Rainbow, face feeling rather hot. "I would… like to I really would but… but…"
Rainbow Dash tilted her head. "It is just for one night since you're going home soon." She offered.
That soon caused the former gargoyle to take a couple breaths before afterward giving in, nodding, taking Rainbow Dash's hand. And from what he recalled watching movies on how humans danced, he had to put her hand around her waist. Malibu did so, gazing into Dash's eyes as the music began to take him, feeling his body lead her across the floor. The other girls saw them dancing, all giggling at the sight of it.
The party went rather well so far, Dash and Malibu having finished their dance and joined Twilight to figure out where Sunset was. "Has anybody seen Sunset Shimmer?" Twilight asked. Rainbow smiled. "Maybe she was just too embarrassed to show! She's gotta know you won by a landslide!"
Malibu looked down, having doubts about it. "If you say so." He said softly as Celestia called them all to the stage.
Gazing upward, Malibu felt his hand take Twilight's, his nerves at an all time high. He saw Twilight looking at him, as she smiled gently. "Don't worry, we'll go home."
'I hope so' Malibu thought silently, gulping again. Celestia began to speak. "First off, I wanna say how wonderful everything looks tonight. You all did a magnificent job pulling things together after the unfortunate events of earlier. And now, without further ado, I'd like to announce the winner of this year's Fall Formal crown."
The 7 friends all stared at Twilight's Element of Harmony, Malibu struggling to breathe from his own anxiety. If they did this all in vain, he didn't want to go home in shame or live as a human forever!
Celestia pulled out a card. "The Princess of this year's Fall Formal is… Twilight Sparkle!"
Everybody had cheered quite loudly from that announcement, and Malibu let loose a breath he had been holding for quite a long while, watching his pretty much adopted sister walking up to Celestia, who held out her crown. "Congratulations, Twilight," She said, placing it on her head. Malibu saw the crown sparkle as it touched her hair, Twilight grinning.
"Twilight! Malibu! Help!" The voice made Malibu jump who turned around, spotting Snips and Snails who had snuck into the party and snatched up Spike! Spike struggled in their hold but they kept a grip on him, leaving the room.
Malibu's eyes flared. "NO!" He roared, shoving through the crowd, Twilight and the others following him. He wouldn't let anybody hurt his brother! Nobody!
The 7 of them raced down the hallway, trying to keep up with their friend, running outside next to the portal statue.
Sunset had shown up right at that moment, making Malibu halt in his tracks after seeing her holding a sledgehammer. "That's close enough!" She snarled, raising it high.
Spike struggled again. "Twilight!" He gasped, Snips grabbing his muzzle.
Malibu growled. "Don't you dare hurt him!" He snapped, hands balled into fists.
Sunset smirked. "Oh, I wouldn't dream of it dearie. I'm not a monster." She turned to the boys. "Let him go." The two looked at each other then put Spike down who ran into Twilight's arms.
"I am not your dearie, Sunset! You can drop the flirty act!" Malibu snapped, going a step closer to hopefully take away the sledgehammer. Her own eyes flashing, Sunset spoke again. "You two don't belong here. Give me the crown, and you can go back to Equestria tonight. Or keep it and never go home!" Sunset raised the sledgehammer, threatening to wham the portal with it, making the two Equestrians gasp in fear.
"Tick tock, Twilight and Malibu. We haven't got all night. The portal will be closing on its own in less than an hour! So… what's your answer?" Sunset demanded, eyeing them with malice.
Malibu stared at their only way home, then back at Twilight. He knew they still can't let her have the crown, but he also didn't want to be here for 30 moons. Before he could speak, Twilight spoke for them both.
"No!"
That stunned everyone there especially Sunset. "WHAT?! Equestria, your friends and family, lost to you both forever! Don't you see what I'm about to do to the portal?!"
Twilight nodded, standing tall. "Yes. But I've also seen what you've been able to do here without magic. Equestria will find a way to survive without my Element of Harmony. This place might not, if I allow it to fall into your hands. So go ahead. Destroy the portal. You are not getting this crown!" She declared, placing it back on her head.
Malibu gazed at her in amazement, grinning. "Whoa," he breathed, while Sunset rolled her eyes. "Fine, you win!" She dropped the sledgehammer to the ground.
The other girls came up to the two Equestrians, cheering. "You… are… so awesome!" Rainbow Dash squealed.
Applejack had a hand on her forehead. "I can't believe you were gonna do that for us!"
Rarity put her hand on Twilight's shoulder. "It's no wonder you're a real life princess!"
Suddenly Malibu heard a sharp growl in Sunset's direction. "Oh, yes, she's so very special!" She soon charged at Twilight, tackling her to the ground rather violently, trying to take the crown which rolled over in Malibu's direction.
He quickly grabbed it, eyes wide in fear as Sunset shouted "Grab him you fools!" To Snips and Snails.
It made Malibu run for it, holding the crown tight in his hands but wound up being cornered near the wall of the school, gasping a bit as Sunset closed in on him, grinning devilishly. "Come on now dearie. Give it to me and you can still be allowed to rule by my side…" She tempted.
Malibu gulped but soon glared. "No! You won't trick me again!" He roared, seeing Rainbow Dash waving to him. "Mal! Over here!" He threw the crown, having her catch it, and the evil trio now chased the other girls and Spike, tossing the crown around.
Fluttershy had caught it at one point then they kept on giving it to whoever was behind her until…
"I'll take that!" Sunset hissed, grabbing it from Twilight. Malibu's heart raced, standing next to Twilight while Spike growled. Sunset grinned down at her prize. "At last. More power than I can ever imagine!"
It made Malibu tense up when Sunset put the crown on, thunder rumbling around them all, as a great powerful force began to take her over, a pillar of magic surrounding Sunset's whole body and lifting her into the air.
The 7 friends all gasped in fright, along with the students inside the school, as a bright flash shone out, causing Sunset to go through a terrible looking transformation, her skin turning red, fingers growing long and sharp into talons, wings sprouting from her back.
After one final flash of light, it revealed what the crown can do to the wrong bearer.
Sunset's eyes blinked for a moment before staring at her new demon form, her eyes crazed and evil as she laughed triumphantly.
Malibu couldn't stop staring, even though she was a demon she really did look like a gargoyle. But for Malibu, there were big differences between demons and gargoyles. Sunset next zapped Snips and Snails; turning the two into demons too.
Snips grinned. "This is gonna be so cool!" He exclaimed, the two turning to close in on the other girls.
Sunset then spotted Malibu's frightened but angry face, and she looked flirty again. "You like what you see my future love? Doesn't this remind you of home?" She flapped her wings rather sexily, and Malibu did his best to keep himself from being drawn to her. "N-No, you're nothing like a gargoyle, and you never will be!" He shouted, standing near Twilight, hoping Sunset won't try to take him.
The demoness simply shrugged, turning to the school and hissing at them all. "I've had to jump through so many hoops tonight just to get my hands on this crown, and it really should have been mine all along!" The students watched in fear and Malibu couldn't blame them. "But let's let bygones be bygones. I am your princess now! And you will be loyal… to me!"
Sunset Shimmer clenched her fist, causing the doorway to shatter from her will, making the students scream, trying to run. But Sunset had other plans, making her eyes swirl, sending magic into their heads and winding up zombifying them all to her will.
Malibu's legs shook, for it was rather creepy seeing that. Sunset Shimmer hovered above her followers. "Spoiler alert: I was bluffing when I said I was going to destroy the portal. I don't want to rule this pathetic little high school; I want Equestria! And with my own little teenage army behind me I am going to get it!"
Twilight saw in the crowd Flash Sentry there under her control, and her eyes watered, shaking her head, Malibu standing tall next to her. "No, you're not! And Malibu isn't your true love!" She added in, Malibu looking at her thankfully.
Sunset scoffed. "Oh please! What exactly do you think you two are going to do to stop me? I have magic and you have nothing!" Malibu flinched from her satanic look, feeling rather helpless now, thinking it could probably be over for them.
Rainbow Dash ran up to them, taking Malibu's hand. "They have us!" She shouted, Malibu looking at Dash, his eyes shining in happiness, gripping her hand tight while the others joined them.
"Gee, the gang really is all back together!" Sunset laughed boisterously, wiping a tear from her eyes. "Now step aside, Twilight has tried to interfere with my plans one too many times already! And as for you, little Malibu, you're now a lost cause. They need to be dealt with!" She summoned a laser ball, tossing it in their direction.
Malibu flinched, he and Twilight hugging each other as the blast headed their way, shutting their eyes tight. He waited to be exploded into pieces but nothing happened. Peeking his eyes open, he gasped softly when seeing the other girls hugging them both, and a protective magic aura as well.
Twilight and Malibu both smiled at each other what happened while Sunset gasped in disbelief. "WHAT?!"
The two lead Elements stood firm among their friends, grinning triumphantly. "The magic contained in my Element was able to unite with those that helped create it!"
Sunset glanced up at the crown on her that sent a mulberry laser towards them, hitting Twilight on her forehead, lifting the Humane 7 into the air.
Malibu felt a rush of energy through his body, eyes glancing over to Applejack who grew two pony ears and her hair grew as long as a pony's tail, hovering in her classic pose. "Honesty!" Twilight said.
Next was Fluttershy who sprouted wings besides her ears and long hair, winking to Malibu who grinned back. "Kindness!"
Pinkie Pie was next, looking rather happy to have pony ears, balloons from her cutie mark burst from behind her. "Laughter!"
Rarity fluttered her eyes, her hair growing long, as well as her ears but to Malibu's confusion no horn. He wondered why that was. "Generosity!"
He next watched Rainbow Dash grow her wings and her other pony features as well, instantly knowing how to fly. "Loyalty!"
Malibu gasped then as he was next, his own wings bursting from his back, human ears becoming pony again though his hair remained normal, red cross appearing behind in the aura. "Love!" He grinned bravely at Sunset who hissed back at him.
"Magic!" Twilight finished, her alicorn wings sprouting, hair growing long as the Humane 7 hovered together, Spike watching from below. "Together with the crown, they create a power beyond anything you can ever imagine! But it is a power you do not have the ability to control! The crown may be on your head, Sunset Shimmer, but you cannot wield it, because you do not possess the most powerful magic of all!"
"The Magic… of Friendship!" Malibu then finished, holding Twilight and Rainbow Dash's hands, the other girls holding hands too as the classic rainbow laser shot up into the sky, coming down at Sunset. Sunset Shimmer gasped aloud from the laser shooting at her, having the demon cover her head.
"Ugh! What… is… happening?" She gasped, the rainbow finally consuming her completely.
Twilight's eyes along with Malibu's flashed white. "Here and in Equestria; it is the only magic that can truly unite us all!" More lasers shot everywhere, snapping the humans out of their trance as well as catching demon Snips and Snails.
Malibu's eyes shut, the wave of magic fixing everything in the school minus the door to it, feeling himself falling unconscious.
A few moments later he felt a tongue licking his cheek, making him wake at the sight of Spike, grinning back at him. "Hey Spike," he said weakly, petting the dragon turned dog. He spotted Twilight as well, going to give her a hug, their wings enfolding around each other as well.
Turning around, there was now a huge hole in the ground where Sunset Shimmer was. Carefully the gang walked close to look inside to still see her alive, but back in her human form, looking rather weak.
Twilight frowned in disappointment. "You will never rule in Equestria. Any power you may have had in this world is gone! Tonight, you've shown everyone who you really are. You've shown them what is in your heart."
Malibu nodded as Sunset started pulling herself out. "And like I've said; there is nothing between us Sunset Shimmer. I will always love the pegasus I chose back home: Rainbow Dash. She is my special somepony and always will be."
Sunset's eyes watered which he didn't buy at first. Was she trying to trick them? "I-I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't know there was another way!"
Twilight turned around to look at her friends. "The Magic of Friendship doesn't just exist in Equestria. It's everywhere. You can seek it out. Or you can forever be alone. The choice is yours." She said in a friendship lesson. Malibu grinned, wondering now if there was any magic like that back in his old world where Brooklyn was.
He saw Sunset finally get out but hanging onto the ledge, still crying. "But… But all I've ever done since being here is drive everyone apart. I don't know the first thing about friendship." She whimpered, until Twilight held her hand out. Sunset hesitantly took it, standing up. "I bet they can teach you," She offered.
Malibu stayed away from Sunset however, still unsure he could trust her after she sexually assaulted him, but maybe… maybe the human versions of his friends could really fix her.
Spike stood up, clapping his paws. "Those are my pals! Woo-hoo!" One boy jumped. "Did that dog just talk? So weird!"
It made the baby dragon roll his eyes. "Seriously? A talking dog is the weird thing about all this?!" Malibu laughed, picking him up. "Just play along," He said softly, scratching his ears.
Principal Celestia came along now, holding the crown. "I believe this belongs to you. A true princess in any world leads not by forcing others to bow before her, but by inspiring others to stand with her. We have all seen that you are capable of just that. I hope you see it too, Princess Twilight." She said gently, the crown back on her head.
Twilight nodded, her eyes watering. "I do."
The crowd cheered at those words and from the victory. Malibu now couldn't help himself, eyes filling with tears, he ran to hug Principal Celestia who was startled but smiled. "And why the hug, Malibu?"
He looked at her. "The Celestia from-from Equestria took me in as her son. I just-just needed to hug someone here close to her namesake back home." Celestia then nodded, stroking his hair and hugging back. "Your mother will be proud, Malibu."
Malibu nuzzled into her, welcoming the hug greatly, but hoped they can go home soon as Celestia then called them all back inside to party one final night with the two of them.
It was a great party. Malibu knew he would miss eating meat here, snacking on one more hot dog while watching Twilight do her pony dance with Flash Sentry literally on four legs, making him laugh. Perhaps this relationship could work.
After it all ended the school knew now it was time to say goodbye to the newcomers from the pony world, the friends all having a final group hug.
Twilight looked at Sunset Shimmer who was hiding behind a door, looking rather downcast. "You'll look out for her won't you?" She asked.
Rarity nodded. "Of course we will. Although I do expect some sort of apology for last spring's debacle."
Malibu blinked. Could Rarity have been the one girl who tried to run for the Spring Fling? Twilight grinned when Luna handed Sunset a trowel. "I have a feeling she'll be handing out a lot of apologies."
Spike tugged on her skirt. "We'd better get going guys," He informed.
Malibu swallowed a lump in his throat, staring at their new friends. "It-It has been a great honor to meet you all." He said shakily. Applejack took his hand, shaking it. "And was for us."
Rainbow Dash shook his hand too. "Tell the other me I said hi." She said, Malibu nodding.
Twilight also had tears. "I know we've only been friends for a short time. But I'm gonna miss all of you so much." She next sighed, as she and Malibu turned to face the mirror.
Spike then grinned at Twilight. "That crown really does suit you, Princess Twilight."
The alicorn grinned. "You know what, guys? I am starting to feel a little more comfortable wearing it."
"What about those 'pesky wings'?" Malibu asked, nudging her shoulder. It made Twilight laugh. "I've been walking on two legs and picking things up with these!" She said, holding her hands up. "Wings? I'm thrilled that's all I'll be dealing with back in Equestria!"
They finally stepped through the portal, Malibu once more felt the suction of it, seeing the rainbow flashes go by him, eager more than ever to be a pony again.

In Equestria itself, the ponies and alicorns awaited Twilight and Malibu's return, Rainbow Dash having been pacing back and forth, until suddenly the mirror flashed, Twilight stepping out first then Malibu.
They were both still on two legs and Malibu's upper body fell down on his front hooves. A big sigh of relief flooded his body. He was finally home!
Fluttershy gasped, a hoof over her mouth. "Twilight!"
Rarity smiled. "You got your crown!"
Pinkie grabbed Twilight into a huge hug. "I knew you could do it!"
Applejack wiped her eyes. "Oh, we were so worried!"
Rainbow Dash had pounced on top of Malibu, looking at him with her worried face. "You had no idea how sick with worry I was you big lug!" She exclaimed before moving in for a kiss. Malibu welcomed it, for this one felt more pure than the kiss he had with Sunset. "I've missed you too, Dashie," He said in a teary way.
Celestia's face was also concerned. "Sunset Shimmer? Is she alright?"
Twilight nodded. "I think she's gonna be fine. We left her in good hands." She said with a grin.
The other ponies were confused. "What are hands?" Dash pondered. Malibu punched her lightly. "They were the ones I had when becoming a gargoyle from the poison joke," He explained, making her laugh awkwardly.
Spike had popped out of the mirror, now back to a baby dragon once more, grinning when checking his talons. Malibu spotted his real mother and crying, ran into her hooves for a real hug. Celestia was glad to at least have Malibu come back to her even if she couldn't get Sunset Shimmer right now, nuzzling her dear son while the others looked on fondly. "I've… missed you so much," Malibu whimpered, not wanting to let go of her.
Celestia licked his forehead in a way a mother horse would. "As I you. You have so much to tell me of your journey. Now come, let us take you to rest."
They all filed out of the mirror room, though Malibu looked back once more, seeing it wink back. Maybe one day, he will return.
"Where did you stay?" Fluttershy asked.
"Did ya have fun?" Pinkie said next.
"What'd ya eat?" Applejack asked now, making Malibu wince a little, not sure if he wanted to tell them about the meat in the mirror world.
Twilight sighed, bags under her eyes and Malibu couldn't blame her. "I wanna tell you everything, I do, but we're just so exhausted from all the dancing."
Malibu nodded. "And fighting an evil she-demon," He added in, making the others blink, tilting their heads.
As he finished those words Twilight yelped when bumping into somepony, which happened to be the new guard he saw when first arriving here.
The stallion grinned at her. "We've got to stop bumping into each other like this." He said jokingly, walking off while Twilight blushed staring at him.
"Who is that?" Twilight asked, her heart fluttering, making Malibu laugh again for he knew already.
"He's a new member of the castle guard. Flash Sentry, I think. Why? Do you know him?" Cadance asked in a teasing manner.
Twilight gave a sly smile, walking away. "Not exactly."
AJ fluttered her eyes. "Oooh! Somepony's got a crush on the new guy!" She teased, Malibu beginning to chortle.
"No! No I don't!" Twilight denied, Rarity seeing her blush. "She does! She absolutely does!"
"Don't be ridiculous! I don't even know him!" Twilight defended, ears lowered. "He just…" Pinkie suddenly jumped in front of them.
"Totally reminds you of a guy you met in the other world who played guitar, was in a band, saved Malibu from Sunset Shimmer assaulting him along with helping prove you didn't destroy all the decorations for a big dance, so you could still run for princess of the big dance, and then asked you to dance at that dance?! Right?" She squealed, eyes bulging.
Malibu's jaw dropped a second time since the first rant Pinkie did in the human world. How could this even be possible?! "But-But… how?" He stuttered, having no words. Pinkie Pie shrugged. "Just a hunch!" She said cheerfully like the human verse of herself claimed, bouncing off.
Twilight looked at the dumb struck Malibu, chuckling as she pulled herself, Spike and Malibu into a hug. This had been quite the adventure unlike any from before, the former gargoyle wondering what other exciting things could come for them all next.
Season 4 is going to be pretty fun to write since it is seemingly the most popular one, as well as coming up with a story about Malibu finding his own key to the Tree of Harmony chest.
