Chapter 18:Looming Apocalypse
"Akame," He grasped. Qrow Branwen can't comprehend what is in front of him. It is too perfect yet surreal. Her stone-cold expression stared back at him.
In a moment of vulnerability, he kneeled in front of Akame, grief overtaking him. The huntsmen couldn't bring himself to look at what he once thought was a ghost or an illusion. She can't see the tears he's fighting back.
Qrow didn't catch the moment of confusion on Akame's face followed by the realization and then sadness. She quickly returned to her icy visage.
'Get up!' He mentally yelled at himself. It felt like a whole mountain was on his back yet he stood up and stared directly at Akame.
He looks at every detail from the pristine white, strap dress and unblemished skin. He knows scars and imperfections are a good way to distinguish people. Akame has gone through hell and back from the inhumane training before her aura is even activated. Even afterward, The intensity of the training often leaves her aura exhausted and unable to fully heal injuries. Martha confirms it. But he also finds it hard to believe Akame willingly subjects herself to such extremes.
Now she is potentially under Salem's control. Qrow didn't want to believe it but denying reality is insane. Maybe it's a clever illusion?
It could be due to how inaccurate, and perfectly undamaged she appears. So he focuses on other aspects.
He could attack her and see if the illusion fades away. But he can't bring himself to do it. What if he's wrong and ends up attacking his niece?
"Uncle Qrow?" Akame uttered.
Those two words awaken memories of the hell he went through. That voice matches Akame's.
Qrow focuses on her aura.
'Red like Ruby's," He said under his breath," That's the right color."
Akame's aura color is the few snippets of information he gathered over the decade.
The longer he looks the more likely it isn't an illusion.
A light breeze swept from the left side and her hair and dress moved in response. A stray leaf landed on her shoulder and slid off.
"Akame, is that you?"
"Yes," She nodded.
"I want to believe this is real," He spoke in a low tone," I need to ask a few questions."
"So do I," She responded immediately," One for one."
Does she think he's an illusion or a fraud?
He searched his memories for the perfect questions. It has to be something only Akame would know. Qrow is already prepared to answer all her questions if she proves to be the real deal. And it would have to be in Mistranese to confirm it.
"Did you love Martha more than your mother?" I asked her and I could see the slightest tick of frustration.
"It's complicated," She answered and turned to the gravestone.
Qrow expected her to say yes but the way she answered seemed truthful.
The flowers…the headstone…Even the location.
It is far too much effort and love to fake.
"Love her enough to kill?" I refer to Aaron Schwarz's death.
"It was a whole lot more than what you did," She rebuked," Where were you when she died?"
He tried his best to reach Martha before the Atlesian did. Qrow can't blame James for this one. Ironwood gives his approval to spy on Martha and negotiate her punishment on another date. It was an Atlesian paramilitary that found her and made their move against orders.
AABU, Atlas Anti-Banditry Unit, is only doing its job. She killed several soldiers and two huntsmen while the tribe was scattered. Qrow didn't want to admit it but she is an active threat. Even if those killings are in self-defense.
"I-I was too slow to save her," Qrow lamented," We both were. I was busy with another mission across town and your mother was still recovering from her fight with Ruby-Summer Rose."
She recalled the beaten state of her mother on that day.
"…Ruby mom?" She added.
"How did you know?" He uttered.
"I live here and dad already told me. Please continue," She explained.
"Right, sorry for asking something obvious. I loved her, Akame. Raven cared about her too," He looked over to the headstone," She wasn't happy with the relationship and thought I was using her."
"Were you?" Akame narrowed her eyes," Don't lie to me."
"Yes, I was using her originally," he sighed.
"That isn't right," Akame hissed.
"I know it was wrong! It was duty but it turned into love," Qrow raised his voice. He hoped the reunion with Akame would be happier instead of what it is now. A heartfelt hug, a few thank-yous, and kind words are what he wanted. Now there is an air of distrust between the two of them.
"And it killed her," Akame yelled before reeling back at her words," Sorry uncle Qrow."
Qrow closed his eyes, fighting back tears. He held his emotions back with the scrap of willpower he had left.
'I know removing Akame peacefully from the tribe is impossible,' Qrow reminded himself. He held onto hope for a long time. He doesn't want to accept Akame becoming Salem's pawn either. It would make all his effort meaningless.
Whenever he comes to visit Yang and Ruby with a smile on his face. It's in his mission to lie to them about the other sister. Qrow can't be honest with them about what he's doing in Mistral. He suspects Yang already knows but he didn't have the time or the chance to confirm it. He doesn't want to keep lying about Akame.
He wasn't even sure if what happened was a nightmare or reality. The Akame in that town seems inhuman right up to the way she fights.
Yet, the words she spoke felt real and with genuine emotion.
"Now tell me what happened in Mistral? What did Salem do to you?" He questioned Akame," I know about that blood of yours."
She didn't expect it.
"My blood?"
"Don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about," He revealed," The mask records everything."
Akame mentally cursed Lil' Ms. Malachite for the invasive surveillance.
"I don't want to talk about it," She avoided the question.
"What happened to 'one for one?'" Qrow insisted.
"I need to know more about Ozpin and what he is planning," She fired back.
'If she's working for Salem, she is making it a little too obvious,' he thought to himself.
"He's helping me bring you home," he fired back," Oz cares about humanity."
"Bullshit," Akame cursed," I don't trust that old wizard and by extension, you. I don't think I can trust anyone right now…"
Qrow understood the situation even more. Akame has been deceived for far too long. It is going to require a lot of effort to regain that trust. Qrow is right about that but it is far worse than he can imagine.
Ozymandias (Ozpin) turned on his ally in the name of peace.
A mother that recites delusions of power and survival.
Ironwood deceives a little girl that wanted to go home.
A father that wanted to avoid more heartache by lying about the missing daughter.
Salem attempts to bend Akame's mind to her will.
Ms. Malachite blames her for all the wrongdoing and disregards her heroism.
The divine treated her as nothing more than a chess piece.
That is not even counting the baggage from her past life.
'I promise to make it out alive,' Those words echoed in his head. Moments later, He saw her die.
"We both have a lot of explaining to do," Akame spoke up.
"But I know things that can't be shared," He said," Akame, This will get us nowhere if we don't trust one another. I know you have every reason to not trust adults. You have been lied to far too often. Even your father kept you a secret."
"And?" Akame rejected," Are you any better?"
"No, I can't play the moral high ground," He sighed," I did what I had to do because of family. I would have done it no matter how much it hurt me. Even if the world told me to stop looking for you. I spent the last 11 years wanting to accomplish one mission: To keep a promise to the women I love."
'And the one I once had feelings for,' Qrow reminisced about the girl with a white cloak.
Akame's eyes widened at his declaration. She wanted to give him a chance.
'He's being honest. Maybe, I can tell him about Martha's son,' She thought to herself before discarding the idea,' It is still too early. I don't even have a plan or know where he is. If I tell him about Martha's son, he'll end up killing himself looking for him.'
"Do you hate me? After everything that happened? Would you hate me more if you knew the whole truth?" Akame asked him bluntly.
"I can't hate you. You're still a kid and it is still not too late to be on the right path," he lectured." It took me until I was eighteen, a year into Beacon, to see the truth. The fact you are here in Patch means one thing. You're on the right track, kiddo."
Akame didn't want to tell him she wasn't a kid. Even if she came to Remnant at around 18, The same can't be said for her other incarnations/fragments. Kurome Branwen was in her 30s when she died but that may as well be a different person with her skill set and looks.
"Do you hate her?" Akame walked toward the gravestone, carefully avoiding stepping on flowers.
"Umm," Qrow didn't expect the question," Yes."
Qrow stepped closer until he was directly behind his niece.
"Uncle, don't lie to yourself," She lectured," Are you telling yourself that to make it easier to let go of her?"
"Are you aware of what she has done?" The huntsmen argued.
Akame paused to think about what to say. Her mother caused a lot of suffering to the point where forgiveness is impossible. Even so, She is still her mother.
"Yes," I answered," But I will not spit on her grave, uncle. It's easy to remember all the bad she's done but what about the rest? She is your sister and my mother. Not once in your life has she helped you or stood by your side?"
Qrow reminisces about the early years of their lives. Raven has always been someone who protected him, who stood in front of him. His bad luck semblance has made connecting with people difficult. Even when he was forced to live in the furthest corner of the tribal camp, Raven was the only one that approached him. Their father didn't even look in his direction.
She was the one who got the tribe to stop their mistreatment and mistrust of him.
She has done a lot for him and the tribe.
'Maybe we are both traitors,' he thought to himself,' But I choose the right path.'
Akame came to the same conclusion.
Raven Branwen has made the same mistake as Kurome. The difference between Raven and Kurome is one person an adult that should know better versus a child that only knows what she is told.
Kurome chose to stay with the Empire even if it was the wrong choice. It is where her comrades are and is a mold she is uncomfortable with leaving.
Raven didn't want to be a part of the secret war. Instead, She wanted to help her people because they are family to her. While destroying other people's families and livelihoods.
'Sacrificing the many for the few is simply wrong. The decision to go back wasn't an easy one but it was a dumb one,' Akame grimaced, She even dragged me with her.'
Akame can't bring herself to hate her mother. Kurome, her little sister from the old world, has done far worse yet Akame's love remains. Even leading up to their final battle, There was no hatred in Akame's heart. At the very least, her mother understood the concept of mercy and abhor crimes like rape and slavery. The former occasionally happens but either it is out of my mother's earshot or the offender(s) get severely punished right after.
That alone is a moral step above the bandits in Akame's old world.
"There isn't much left for us to talk about," Akame added," I do not work for Salem but…I am…"
Akame struggles to speak. She didn't know how to explain it. She wants to scream and cry about her misfortune yet realize she could leave it all behind at any moment. The freedom of choice has always been by her side. It is a choice, a mission, she's undertaking alone.
The sun bore down on her with an intensity that made her feel lightheaded. Akame thought she'd gotten used to the God of Light glare but now it felt like she could be turned into stone.
She'll pretend her past life never existed. Akame needs to forget about it for now. She isn't going to spill her heart out to anyone about it. There was only one person she considered telling the truth to.
Martha is no longer alive to hear it.
"I'm my own person," Akame declared," Whatever blood courses through my veins don't change who I am. My soul remains the same."
The two Branwen face one another. Qrow was twice the side of his niece yet she was the one standing tall.
"I-I don't know Ozpin's true intentions," He revealed," That is why I'll pretend you were never here. Kiddo, You wanted to come home this whole time?"
"Yes," The former assassin answered.
"Then what am I to ruin it?" The huntsmen smiled," I'll keep the secrets between us."
"You're not going to push me for more answers?" Akame was confused.
"One to one," he responded," Look, I want to believe you truly are my niece and my sister dropped you off here before dying. It is the only plausible explanation besides the other one."
"What other one?" She fumed.
"You aren't real and I'm going insane," he sighed.
"If you want proof," Akame reached out her hand and beckoned him to hold it," Here's your proof."
Qrow slowly reached out and held her hand, noticing how cold it was.
"This isn't normal," He recognized," This is real but this coldness isn't right."
Qrow looked at her hand expecting it to disappear or become translucent.
"Believe me now?" Akame smiled. He let go and took a step back.
"Just one more question," He inquired while wiping a single tear away," Taiyang is overprotective of his daughters after the incident."
"When Yang sneaks out to look for her mother and possibly me?"
"Pretty much," he rubbed the back of his head," Why are you out here? Alone?"
"Because I can handle myself," Akame didn't hesitate to answer," There's video proof on the internet that lowly thugs, even trained assassins aren't going to be a problem for me. Even so, it took some time for dad to listen. There no longer any Grimm and the crime rate is abysmally low on Patch."
"Wild animals are still a threat, Akame," he lectured.
"Compared to Grimm?" She argued," They are nothing."
"With or without semblance?" He asked," I'm also a teacher at Signal, Akame. I studied your fights from Ironwood intel and a few other sources."
"A few?"
"You're only as strong as a top Academy student. The fight with those fourth years wasn't in your favor," Qrow lectured, "Impressive for a 10-year-old but still have a lot of room to improve."
Her uncle essentially criticized and praised her for being able to last against a group of soon-to-graduate Huntsmens. She remembered her fight with Team SKYS back in Mistral. She fought tooth and nail not to be overwhelmed.
"I was at a disadvantage. I didn't have a weapon and Atlas has already cut off my escape."
"Even if you have that sword, You will still lose," He explained," Team SKYS was the best of the best in Haven. They didn't break a swear wearing you down. But, I'll admit it isn't always going to be clear-cut. Sometimes an opponent will get unlucky."
"I get it," Akame closed her eyes," I'm strong but still have much to learn."
The two of them stood in silence for a brief moment, taking in the sound of nature.
Akame heard the chirping of birds. She thought about a few questions she never got to ask her mother.
"Umm, uncle," She worked up the courage," What is like being a bird?"
Qrow was taken aback by the question. He wasn't sure if Akame knew about the curse Ozpin gave them. But since she asked about it, Raven already told her.
"Why…didn't you just ask your mom?" He pinched the bridge of his nose.
"It's just a question," she smiled," Why are you so defensive about it?"
"Because it leads to even dumber questions I don't want to think about!" He complained," It's magic, that is all."
"Do you develop the same instinct as a crow? Where do all your clothes and weapons go? If I call while you're in your bird form, how do you pick up?" Akame fired off questions after questions," Could you talk in bird form?"
"No, I don't know, never happened, and yes," Qrow answered in order.
"If mom give birth to Yang and me while she was a raven, Would we-"
"Akame, stop being weird," Qrow facepalmed," It's magic, don't overthink it."
The former assassin shrugged her shoulders.
"I'm not joking uncle," she reasoned," Maidens magic can transfer. Would it be the same deal for my mom? Could Yang transfer into a bird, too?"
"It-," Qrow paused," I need to talk to Oz about it, but stop asking."
"These aren't dumb questions. They have a purpose," She crossed her arm and clarified," I may have been the last person she saw."
Akame turns her head and stares at the name on the gravestone.
"She unlocked your aura, right?" Qrow inquired.
"Yes, Could that affect me?"
"There shouldn't be a problem," he exclaimed," Ozpin learned his lesson from creating the Maidens. It should head back to him after death. He confirmed your mother's death before the tribe officially announced it."
"Good," Akame exhaled and walked past him," Is there anything else you want to talk about?"
"No, there isn't," he looked down," At least only thing thinks we are comfortable with sharing. I know you are hiding more secrets and I kept mine."
"Things that are unrelated to Ozpin and this secret war?" Akame asked.
"Yep," he nodded. In an instant, he shifts into a bird and flies away.
As Qrow disappears into the forest, Akame turns to look at the gravestone.
"I'm sorry," She said out loud," But I don't expect forgiveness for what I did. Thank you for bringing me into this world. I just wish there was another way. I love-"
A cold chill ran down her spine causing Akame to be on edge. When she turned around, no one was there. Akame shook her head. She rationalizes it as guilt and the heartache she's feeling.
For the briefest moment, She felt a warm, fleeting embrace.
'Maybe Uncle Qrow isn't the only one going insane,' Akame thought to herself.
Ozpin wasn't having a good month. No, A month is an understatement. Everything got out of hand after five years.
It was one problem after another.
Unknown variables and new mysteries appeared before him.
He can't even feel relaxed that two of Salem's henchmen are dealt with, Watts and Lionheart.
Even Raven's death is strange. The magic attached to Raven's soul didn't come back to him like it was supposed to yet he knows she died.
He leaned back in his chair and stared out at the campus below. The old wizard still felt jet lag from the long flight from South Mistral to Vale. Ozpin looked into the sky wondering why the Gods had returned. His hands shook uncontrollably at one of his theories. The Gods have become impatient. He has run out of time or is coming close to it.
'I tried my best to save Humanity,' He lamented,' And the day of judgment has come upon us even if we didn't combine all four relics.'
Mistral being run by a crime boss is now the least of his concern. He hopes the Gods are only visiting. If there is one thing he is certain about one brother follows the rules set before him and the other finds a way around it.
The wizard took a moment to calm himself. He cleared his mind with a sip of hot cocoa. Ozpin believes the God of Darkness is the main instigator as evidenced by what happened throughout Mistral.
A darkened landscape underneath a blood-red sky with a violent horizon. It came as quickly as it appeared and in a bright flash, it was gone.
It is impossible to brush the matter aside. Ozpin decided to keep his mouth shut and retreat from his inner circle and the public for a whole week. He was just as confused and scared as everyone else. When it came time to explain the strange phenomenon Ozpin remained unaware but assured everyone that it was a good omen.'
Ozpin scroll rings and he picks it up immediately.
"James? How's the Grimm situation in Anima?" He asked.
"Nearly nonexistent. The best chance of finding Grimm seems to be at night," Ironwood revealed," The few that are tracked either run away or die on the spot if cornered."
"How?" Ozpin raised a brow. He felt a migraine arriving," These aren't normal behaviors."
"Scientists, Huntsmen, and researchers the world over are just as perplexed, Oz," he responded," It almost as if the Grimm fear us now."
"What about the situation down south?"
"They are entrenched," Ironwood spoke angrily," And we have to retreat."
"Is it because of her?"
"Partly," Ironwood gritted his teeth," Vernal has rendered one of my battalion combat ineffective. She directly took the lives of 150 of my men and injured another 450."
"And most of those injured aren't able to continue fighting?" Ozpin interjected. He has been involved in military matters before and knows those losses are insurmountable.
"Yes, And this is just one engagement. The situation for Atlas and Mistral forces isn't in our favor everywhere else no matter how many casualties we inflict against the opposition," Ironwood gritted his teeth," I can't keep lying to Remnant. This war against the criminal underworld is a disaster, Oz. We were successful the first few years but now the enemy we fight is running the government. It is further complicated by a whole providence rebelling against the Mistral government. If we keep fighting, we will end up fighting against the very people we swore to protect. This five-year operation cost this world 60,000 casualties on all sides. And a third of that is from fighting against Salem."
Ozpin knows those numbers are the real deal, unlike the lies and censorship told to Atlas and Mistral to keep the support going for the crime control operation.
"But not everything is lost," He countered," The Grimm numbers have been exhausted worldwide. Mistral could go through a decade of relative Grimm-free peace and we dealt a major blow to Salem's forces. On top of valuable combat experience for Altas in case a major war breaks out. Yet, Humanity has come out defeated in the long term."
Ozpin's greatest fear is the second Great War. The first Great War wiped out an estimated 6% of Humanity in 10 years. Roughly three million were killed fighting each other and the Grimm.
"I'm not even counting the 2,000 she indirectly killed after destroying the engines on the Dauntless," He seethed with rage," Akame is still forgivable if Salem didn't turn her into a puppet but Vernal is beyond saving. Just her alone has caused two of the worse loss of military lives in recent history."
"She has the relic of knowledge and it is clear Vernal had used it," Ozpin added," From the report, She displays powers only the most experienced Maiden knows how to use. Somehow, she discovered the relic's name and asked how to use her power to its fullest."
And the way she killed them is beyond redemption.
Burying soldiers alive.
Impaling them on spikes.
Strangulation with vines.
Slow and torturous electrocution.
These are methods to elicit screams and a painful death out of the unfortunate soldiers. It is also one of the most effective means to attract Grimm.
It is disturbing that a 10-year-old girl is capable of such sadistic behavior. It worries him that she chooses crude means to demoralize the Atlesians and it works. She did it all without hesitation.
Ozpin considered she could be under the influence of a semblance. The main cause of the rebellion in Anamesia, South Anima, is an Atlas soldier firing into a crowd without warning. When asked why he did it, Private Jake Kahel couldn't recall the reason. The next day, he was found dead of food poisoning and no further questioning could be done. Nor suspects to look for.
The other theory is her allegiance to the tribe. It wouldn't surprise him if she is affected by their bad influences. Five years is enough for people to change for the worse.
"Is there a reason why the conversation is only between us?" Ironwood questioned.
"It's not just you, James. Fang spoke to me about what needed to be done with the Spring Maiden and she is now our top priority alongside the relic," the wizard stated," Retrieval of the Relic of Knowledge and…"
Ozpin hangs on the words. He didn't want to do this to her but Vernal is now their enemy and a potential recruit to Salem. Mistral demands justice for her actions in killing Lionheart and aiding the tribe. While Atlas will want vengeance for the slaughter of its military personnel.
Peace might as well be dead at this point.
"We will try being diplomatic with her and the rebellion down south. But if all else fails, The power needs to be transferred away from her at all cost even if it is by random," Ozpin said without admitting the obvious.
From the other line, Ironwood knows it must be done to protect the peace on Remnant. Vernal has gone too far. Akame's crime has been overshadowed by Vernal's atrocities.
Ironic that the girl that couldn't hurt a small nevermore would be the one to slaughter humans with no remorse. While the 'Grimm girl' who killed a few is the one to feel regret and a desire for redemption.
'Is Akame still the same girl or has Salem got to her already?' Ozpin looked down at his cane,' And does she have something to do with the gods' arrival?'
"Vernal Easter must die," Ironwood said with determination.
"An unfortunate last resort," he decided to change the subject," Now, What about those bodies Theodore sent to your lab? What have you learned about them?"
"These things defy everything we know about the creature of Grimm," The general paused," They don't fade away."
It was late into the night at a government building in Anamesia, South Anima. There were only two people in the governor's private library.
"Girly," The woman questioned," I prefer if you call me when you want to ask the last question. I'm not here to be your play date."
"I wanted to thank you for everything," Vernal looked up from her handwritten book. It details all the abilities and methods to use a Maiden power to its fullest.
"You didn't need to," Jinn floated around her," I answered your question to the smallest details. It was you who had the patience and determination to write all of it down."
"Thank you for the compliment!"
"Can I leave now? Or is there a final question you are itching to ask?"
"What would count as a question?" Vernal tilted her head.
"That's one," Jinn smiled sarcastically," But I'll let you know if the question is too valuable."
"Thank you, Umm…" Vernal trailed off," You know everything right?"
"Yes, everything but the future," She answered back.
"I was wondering if there is any way for me to repay you?"
"Are you still looking to befriend me?" Jinn interrupted," I think you went a bit insane from our time together."
The book Vernal held tightly has 600 pages all written in her handwriting.
"Umm...I thought you would be lonely being in the lamb for centuries at a time," she reasoned," You know everything but do you experience it? Don't you get bored of knowing everything?"
Jinn sighed and smiled. She knows Vernal has no ulterior motive for bringing her out and chatting. Vernal is a simple-minded person with a good heart. Unfortunately, That kindness won't last the longer she stays with the tribe and that blonde scammer.
"That sweet of you but as a spirit in the lamp. My duty is clear. As far as you should be concerned, I am more closely related to a machine meant for one specific duty," Jinn reached over and gently patted Vernal's head," Thanks for caring."
Vernal held the book tightly and pursed her lip.
"But you do have a point," Jinn uttered," I have all the information but none of the experience. I know a strawberry is sweet but not what sweet tastes like."
"Do you want me to bring you some strawberries?" Vernal perked up.
"Even if you did, I can't eat them," She told the spring maiden," It will go right through me or I wouldn't feel it at all."
She made her point by phrasing through Vernal and picking out a book from the shelf behind her. Before opening it briefly and setting it back.
"No point in reading either," Jinn shrugged," The ending was rather dull even after all the build-up."
"Aren't you curious?" the Spring Maiden said," All that power and you don't make a body."
"I don't make things, I only know everything in the past and present. Making things isn't what I do," She countered," It isn't in my parameter to make a new body or be mortal. But, You do have a point."
"Do you want to know what it's like to be human?" the spring maiden declared.
"Well yes, it is a knowledge I lack but can't achieve alone. Luckily, I know a workaround." She revealed.
"What is it?" She asked, wondering if it was going to be a bad idea.
Jinn moved to her lamp and grabbed it. She held it in both hands toward Vernal.
"Put your hand on the lamp," She asked," It's merely a symbolic gesture for what I'm about to ask."
Vernal put her hand on the lamp without a second thought. Her hands were tiny compared to the genie.
"I know you mean well so I'm willing to do this. I want you to think the same," Jinn offered.
The lamp and Jinn shined a bright gold and blue. Vernal can feel its magical power coursing through her body. It felt calming and refreshing. She closed her eyes as Jinn faded away. When she opens them again, time resumes. Staring into the reflection of the lamp was a pair of blue eyes.
They were dark blue sclera and light blue iris; the same eyes as Jinn.
"Oh, I get it now," Vernal spoke to 'herself'," I am the host and you're the guest. What do I do with this lamp?"
She paused in thought.
"Sure, I'll give it back. They're going to find nothing if they try using it," Vernal giggled," I'll be sure to show you around town! Just the two of us…until someone figures out you are with me…fine…I'll be careful not to sound-Ummm-what the word again? Sic-Skit-Skitsofanic? Oh sorry, Schizophrenic!"
Vernal spins around happily and causes a small whirlwind of books and loose paper. She stops before it becomes a tornado.
"Yes, Jinn. I'll be careful. I don't want us to experience what dying is like."
Jinn is happy to learn something new. Being mortal is a form she can't demote to. The best part is Jinn isn't breaking from her role but finding new residents in a new 'lamp', a different relic. It shouldn't be possible in the first place because she bonded to her specific relic like the others.
But exceptions have to be made.
'Thank you and I'm sorry,' Jinn smiled bitterly.
A/N: Been busy. Took me only 4 days to finally have enough free time to finish this chapter. I am aware that my story is all over the place but that is the idea. The world is fluid and constantly moving. Every action got a reaction and the concept of good and evil is a spectrum. And I will close off every plot point down the line.
Like how team AKME is going to be the rival to RWBY and JNPR or how the Second Great War would go down. Regretless, Akame will need to sacrifice a lot to get the ending she wants.
The next one should be Akame becoming a Huntress at an early age. Training montage and family time ahead.
