October 31st

The morning chill of this particular day seeped deep into Harry's bones. Halloween. The day everything changed for him twelve and half years ago. The day he was orphaned. He didn't want to do anything but lay there in his bed wallowing in self-pity for the next twenty-four hour.

'Gryffindors charge ahead'

He said to himself, remembering his promise to Sirius, Remus, Andromeda, and Dora. He wasn't going to skip his physical training or any of his meals. Letting out a deep sigh and gathering all his strength, he swung his legs out of the bed, his hand went to the nightstand out of habit and found his glass. Taking them he made his way to the adjacent en suite to get done with his ablutions.

Coming out he was clad in simple jeans and his Gryffindor sweater. It was made by his grandmother Dorea Black when he was a year old, it had a growing charm on it which was her spell, it was great to have another piece of family with him.

Taking his thick woolen cloak, clasping it around him he made his way out of the castle to have his morning walk. As he came to the front courtyard of the castle, the Beauxbatons Carriage stood out to him and brought his memory of Fleur and Apolline. He was glad to see that the former was okay and wanted to know about it later but couldn't without revealing that he was the one who failed to save them.

He already had enough attention as it was, he didn't want it to be out there that he was involved in what was an international incident a failure. Shaking his head he made his way towards the black lake. His mind goes back to all the things that happened on the same day in the last three years. First, it was Quirrel letting the troll in but it wasn't that bad cause it only solidified his friendship with her.

Next was the most terrifying, the first message in blood about the chamber and finding Filche's petrified cat followed by last year when Sirius broke into the Gryffindor tower to catch Petiegrew, back then he didn't know the truth so it terrified him. After all these events he had grown to anticipate something similar today.

Shaking his head out of those thoughts he looked at the serene beauty of the lake and took a deep breath, feeling the fresh morning air filling his lungs. He opened his eyes, his mind relatively calm as he continued his walk until he reached his daily stopping point. It was a large rock quite far from the castle under a large oak tree. He noticed he got there faster than before which was a good sign.

He sat on the rock and looked out the horizon, the calm water only disturbed by the giant squid moments deep underneath. It was his time, no one to ogle him, to praise him, to accuse him, no one just him and the calm morning. After a few minutes of staring into nothingness, he stood up and started to make his way back.

Just as he neared the castle the carriage door opened, and he noticed it was Fleur and her guards coming out, they were wearing full tracksuits. He guessed it was to battle against the morning chill. France was much warmer. Shrugging he made his way through the courtyard and to the Gryffindor tower. He didn't see Fleur watching him from afar, she woke up from the most wonderful dream that made her change her soaked panties and bra.

"Ah, Monsieur Potter! The subject of certain someone's dream, I presume" Marie commented with a teasing smile on her face.

The teen gaped at her looking a mix of embarrassment, flustered and affronted as she sputtered "WH-WH- WHat! No it—it wasn't! Shut up Marie let's get on with the jog, I have things to do!" before she took off running in the direction of the black lake.

Both women followed suit laughing their heads off as Celine said "I don't think she knows that she is done for, she turned bright red back there. Oh Madame Apolline will love hearing about this"

"I know but let's see how it goes before getting ahead of ourselves," Marie said as they continued running lazily behind their ward.

The very ward didn't know what was wrong with her, she wasn't the type to fawn over boys! No, she was Fleur Delacour, boys fawn over her not the other way around. She was proud of Beauxbatons! How can they think she would wet herself dreaming about the boy she met once briefly at the World Cup.

Though he wasn't any boy was he? He was the boy who lived! Harry James Potter! The hero who saved the world from the dark lord when he was a baby and also he was immune to veela allure! Something that has never been seen in the history. Which made him more than special, he was invaluable. He might be the only person she could connect with without worrying about him being affected by her powers.

But that didn't mean she trusted him blindly, he was a stranger after all she wasn't just going to give her heart to anyone just like that and he was a Brit! Their discrimination for her kind was not a secret, as such she needed to know more about him before she could even start to entertain the possibility of any kind of relationship with him. It was clear to her but her body and magic weren't on the same page as her mind, which was her crux to bear.

The veela inside her was calling to him, she knew how to control it during the day but when she was sleeping? Well, she needed to buy a ton of new undergarments cause those eyes of his were nothing if not dangerous! Weapons that should be banned by law, were lethal for women all over the world.

Somehow with those thoughts plaguing her, she completed her physical therapy exercise and after a quick hot shower made her way to the great hall breakfast with her guards. The hall was bustling when she settled in her place at the Ravenclaw table beside a girl who she assumed was third year, with dirty blond hair and a dazed dreamy look on her face.

She didn't comment as she simply started plating a Croque Madame, french toast, and some orange juice. She pondered what to do next, cause it wasn't like she just couldn't go around asking people about him cause it would only get her general opinion of him.

From her place, she peered at the Gryffindor table only to see Hermione sitting with a book in her hand with Harry missing. She frowned a little, concerned about what it was about. Taking her plate and goblet she made her way to them.

"Bonjour 'Ermione" she greeted with a smile on her face. She didn't know how the brunette would react to her presence.

Her worries were for not as the girl witch smiled greeting her "Bonjour Fleur, how was your first day? Have a seat" gesturing to the seat beside her.

The veela felt a little relaxed as she settled answering "It's a little colder 'ere zan back 'ome apart from zat it's okay"

"I know, France is warmer this time of year but give it a chance you will learn to appreciate the cold too" Hermione commented as she continued eating her oatmeal.

Fleur nodded "Oui, I 'ope so!" she noticed the brunette looking at the door, taking the chance she asked, " Who are you waiting for?"

"Oh, Harry, he is usually down by this time and is never late, at least not until now. It's just it's Halloween you know, it's not a good day for him to be alone" Hermione answered looking sad.

At first, she didn't get but then it clicked, for people who celebrate the festival marked the end of the reign of a tyrant yet no one remembered the price paid in cost for the said victory. It only made her heart grow heavier sharing the somber expression of her new friend as they ate breakfast.

Gryffindor Tower

He was late for breakfast which he wasn't looking forward to anyway as such he settled in his bed, and after some time he sighed as he closed the album Hagrid gave him and wiped his tears standing up from his bed, putting it back in his trunk safely.

Closing up he took his satchel and exited his room slowly making his way down to the common room which was decorated by the elves for the occasion. He turned to look around only to see it was empty, towards was a late morning for him. Feeling his stomach rumble he made his way down to the kitchen to have his breakfast in peace.

He once again thanked the twins in his mind for giving him the map, cause it was the reason he knew where the kitchens were. Quiet as he can be he made his way out of the Gryffindor tower, down the grand staircase, and traversing the halls he reached the portrait of pears. He entered after tickling the pear. As he entered he looked around around only to see house elves hard at work.

"Great Master Harry Potter Sir!" the familiar elf came jumping up and down in happiness.

He chuckled "Hello Dobby, can you get me some breakfast"

The elf nodded saying "Dobby will do Master Potter! You can join Miss Bonsey in the back!" pointing to the back of the kitchen where there was a small table but he was unable to make out who was sitting there on the other side.

Curious he nodded, making his way towards the table, and was surprised to see a long crimson-haired girl sitting there with her back turned to her. At first, he thought it was Ginny but he scraped the notion seeing as the the girl question was far healthier than the youngest Weasley along with the fact that her hair was deep crimson, not ginger red.

He saw the yellow lining of her robes along with her long red hair, it struck who it was "Susan?" escaped his mouth before he could stop himself.

Susan Bones turned to face him and for a minute she didn't say anything and stood staring. She couldn't believe one of her first crushes was sitting in front of her. Getting her mind together and controlling her blush she asked "Harry! What are you doing!"

"Uh.. It's just near Halloween! And…" he said looking shy and averting his eyes looking everywhere but at her, his fingers twitching a bit and him squirming a little in his place.

She was confused for a moment, why didn't he want to celebrate it was Halloween! It was the day that he killed Dark Lo… her train of thought came to a halt and a realization came to her face as she understood everything. She was ashamed of herself! For years she had celebrated the holiday without a thought of how that night changed the life of an infant savior.

Without thinking she sprung from her seat and hugged him tears in her eyes "I am so sorry!" choking on words. She couldn't imagine how she would have felt if everyone celebrated the day of her parent's death.

He was stiff as a plank of wood in her sudden embrace but her words had a soothing effect on him, he relaxed a little and didn't hug back replying "T-Thank You, Susan" he didn't know he needed the hug until now. It was quite comforting the warmth of her body which he liked.

Dobby popped in with his breakfast as they separated, startling them a little. Both of them chuckled as they silently sat on the table. Taking a sip of his orange juice he asked "So um you know why I am here, what about you? If you don't mind "

She shook her head "No it's okay it's silly really, I was up late in the night talking with Hannah woke up late and I was hungry so I came here" before taking a bite of the toast.

He smiled "So you excited for the tournament?" as he continued with his food.

"Yeah! Our house is supporting Cedric to be Hogwarts champion but you know we will support anyone with enough skills. Some who is ready to face anything that comes at him, someone like you" she said with a mix of appreciation and mischief, a slight blush adorning her cheeks.

"No, I don't have any intention of entering that death tournament! No thank you" he answered taking a bite of his beans.

She shrugged "Well let's hope it's not Malfoy! Even a first year is better than him" making him laugh his previously gloomy countenance leaving him. She liked him like this, happy and not brooding all the time. And his eyes were the bane of every female in the castle.

"True but I don't think they will let first years enter, they shouldn't if you ask me" he ended the last of his toast and so was she. As the plates vanished both of them stood up and made their way out of the kitchen letting the portrait close behind them.

"How did you find this place anyway?" Susan asked the question what was bugging him?

He gave her a grin that made set her heart flutter before waggling his eyebrow answering "Sorry Bones but that's a family secret! What about you? Turn about is a fair play"

She turned her nose up pretending to be snobbish and folded her hands below her sizable bust saying "Oh no Potter! I am a loyal Puff' no way I am telling you" before both broke into chuckles. She smiled at him softly before hugging him again "Again I am sorry Harry, I will see you later" Then gathering all of her courage she broke the hug and kissed him on the cheek before leaving a stunned boy behind.

Halloween Feast

The Great Hall was filled to the brim, with students from three schools sitting at the tables with their bellies full of food and excitement for the selection of champions. All around the murmurs and speculations about who it will be.

At the head table, various ministry officials from all three nations were present, sitting in the extended place on the head table, it was pretty easy to distinguish them. The British ministry officials were in all black with Aurors in crimson robes. The Bulgarian officials were in heavy blood-red clothes with various fur linings while the French were dressed in light blue with white and red accents.

Right in the front of the head table stood the Goblet in all its glory with the Age Line around The blue fire burning in its ethereal glory, waiting to reveal the names of the champions.

In the crowd sitting among the French delegation Fleur Delacour was picking the thread of her scarf. The day was okay but as night fell it cold settled in the air, making her shiver. Veela's were beings of heat as such she was getting the worst of the effect.

The gloomy mood that settled on her wasn't helping, she talked and mostly spent her time with Hermione, she knew that Harry Potter wasn't like any teenager she had ever known before. What little she was able to prey on Hermione was that he loved Quidditch, there was a constant tension between their potions professor and him.

Bushy-haired witch was tight-lipped about letting anything important slip which only showed that she was a good friend. But Fleur was more intuitive and a little empath. The whole time she was around Witch she could feel the familial love radiating from her when she was talking about Harry along with concern and fear for the green-eyed boy.

Honestly, she was a little relieved to know that their closeness was of sibling kind. She wasn't a jealous type as veela's were polyamorous by nature but her concern was if they were in a relationship she didn't want to come between them and prove the rumors about her kind true.

Besides she wasn't the only one she could see that every girl was jealous of their bond and even heard a rumor or two about them, oh how wrong they were. It was the same everywhere, people getting jealous and blaming others for getting for they couldn't. The thought made her shake her head and let out an unlady-like snort.

Another thing was the realization she had during her breakfast, she knew for a fact that war wasn't just limited to the Isles, it was spreading and had reached well past her country and many others, it all ended today all those years ago. It was a day of celebration for millions, all of them clueless and ignorant of the suffering of their hero.

Everyone focused on the death of the Dark Lord, never giving a thought to what cost a child had to pay. Honestly, she couldn't help but feel a little disgusted that she was one of them too. It took every ounce of her power not to go running around to find the teen, to hug and comfort him, to let him know she was there for him.

But she couldn't, yet, she didn't want to scare him away with her forwardness. She needs to go slow for both of them. The veela in her, the primal being, and her magic wasn't going to make it any easier.

However, she couldn't help but feel a little thrilled, ever since she knew boys had chased which was annoying and frustrating, for the first time the ball was in her court. She was nervous, anxious, and clueless, as to how to do it. Oh, she couldn't just go all googly eyes on him and follow him around like others, no, her pride would never allow her to do so.

She knew she would need help from Hermione and needed to talk with her tomorrow.

Shaking her head she looked ahead and let out a sigh of relief. She could see Harry sitting near Hermione, he wasn't looking good. Not happy but the same polite, and kind, just a little underconfident boy she met. He looked tired like he just wanted it to be over.

It broke her human heart into pieces, her magic thrum while her veela wanted to protect her mate. She knew her allure was a little out of control but it didn't matter as for now her worldview was limited to observing him, others be damned.

It was only when Dumbledore made his way to the front of the room did she came out of her trance, "Good Evening and Happy Halloween to all" he announced, continuing "Now it's finally the moment all of you have to wait for since last night, your patience will be rewarded as we find out who is chosen by the Goblet"

Headmaster raised his hand to the goblet, its ethereal blue fire changing to a rosy pink as it flared up, increasing the heat in the room instantly and it spit out a small parchment of paper from the flying into his hands.

Opening a slightly charred paper he read announcing "First, the Champion of Drumstrang Institute and Magical Norvegr, is Viktor Krum III!"

The moment the words left his lips the Drumstrang contingent hollered and cheered along with many fans of the Quidditch Player, most girls and some boys from the other 2 schools.

"Mr. Krum if you will please follow your Headmaster to the Separate chamber, Thank you" Dumbledore informed and watched as now the newly christened champion and Karkaroff walked away.

Once again he raised his hand and the Goblet reacted to his wish as it for a second time changed color before spitting another piece of parchment out. It was a flowery blue, letting everyone know it was Beauxbaton's turn, The Headmaster smiled announcing "The Champion of Beauxbatons and Gaul is, Miss Fleur Celestine Delacour!"

There was a significantly smaller cheer for the Silvery blond except for her 2 friends on the Gryffindor table, Harry being prime of her supporters which brought a smile to her face and made her remember he was all the support she needed. With her head held high, she walked towards Madame Olympe and both were out of the room.

"And now for the final champion! One who will represent Hogwarts and Albion, and that honor goes to…" Dumbledore announced stretching his hand high up in the air and the fire let out the last piece of parchment as it landed in his hand he read it and looked up straight at the end of Gryffindor's table his eyes meeting emerald orbs which were filled with dread as he announced "….Hadrian James Potter!"

The great hall was silent as everyone looked at the teen who looked like a deer caught in headlight. He didn't know what to do or how to react, he knew something was going to happen, like it had for the last 3 years but never thought it would be him entering a death tournament where he would have to compete and fight just to survive.

Besides he was underage! He didn't submit it, he could see the looks of disdain and disgust everyone was throwing at him. It was like a second year all over again, he couldn't do it again, he was bout about to have a breakdown.

"Harry" Hermione's voice brought him back from the edge. He looked only to find that she was smiling at him, she continued "I believe you, I know you didn't enter, we will handle it just like we have before, now go I will see you later" taking his hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.

He let out a sigh of relief as he stood up and started to make his way to the front, his eyes wandered and caught Susan's who gave him a resolute smile full of confidence, making him feel a little lighter. Looking ahead he saw a similar expression on Minver…. Damn it… Professor McGonagall had a similar expression mixed with worry, concern, and something else he couldn't quite put his finger on in her eyes.

He reached Dumbledore who handed him the parchment and gestured for him to go to the room where all the other champions before him were. His heart was beating like a drum loud enough that he could hear the beat in his ear. Just as he entered the trophy room he spotted Fleur talking with Madame Maxime.

His mind came to halt, Fleur! What will she think about him? Will she blame him? Hate him? Think of him as a cheater? Was she like others? He hoped she wasn't, that she didn't think he was a glory hound like others did. He just hoped she trusted him enough.

She turned around only to see, Harry standing there looking confused, lost, and afraid. She stepped away from her headmistress and towards him asked " 'Arry? What ees eet? Do zey want us back out?"

Before he could answer a man entered the room announcing "Wonderful! We have our three champions!"

Hearing him make all the pieces in her mind in place, she looked down in noticing the parchment in the teen's hand, she sucked in a short breath, Harry Potter was the Third Champion.

She didn't even need to ask to know he didn't do it, it was all written on his face. She didn't say anything just walked back to place beside Madame Maxim who was glaring at her.

There wasn't any time for him to relax as Dumbledore, Mi.. Cgonagall, Snape, Moody along with ministry officials entered the room.

Headmaster stepping forward asked calmly "Mr. Potter, did you put your name in the goblet? Or did you have one of the older students put it in instead"

At first, he felt a little affronted that was even questioning him like this, swallowing his anger he answered "No Sir, I didn't and I didn't ask anyone else to do it for me"

On the side, Madame Maxim scoffed "Of course 'e is Lying!"

Next was Potions Professor who spat "I agree with Madame Maxim, Potter is well known for his rule-breaking streak, lying to get a spotlight won't be a surprise to me" earning him a murderous glare from Minerva and Fleur.

Harry snapped "I didn't enter my name!"

Snape sneered "Don't lie you ignorant Brat!"

"Have you lost your mind, Snape!" Moody growled as walked towards the man continuing "Goblet of Fire, an Artifact created hundreds of years ago whose work only few can understand can be tricked by a boy starting fourth year?" his eye spinning wildly.

"You seemed to have given this a fair beet of thought Mat-eye!" Karakoff accused the man with contempt.

Moody retorted "It was once my job to think as a dark wizard do, Karkaroff, you remember very well don't you?" in a menacing tone.

"All this is Pointless" A calm voice drew their attention to Barty Crouch who simply said "Mr. Potter must compete as the contract is binding and he will lose his magic or life otherwise" he turned to other minister official saying "Mr. Bagman I think you have an announcement to make"

"Ah.. Err… Yes…." Bagman said absentmindedly before clearing his throat saying "Well champions the first task will be on the 29th of November. Good luck to you all and all a Good night" as both Minister officials took their leave. They were followed by Krum and Karkaroff.

Fleur smiled "I will see you tomorrow 'Arry, Bonne Nuit" as she followed behind Madame Maxim her mind still trying to catch up with everything that happened.

Snape left after throwing a last sneer at Harry who only glared at the man's retreating form.

"I think you should return to the Gryffindor tower, you may inform your godfather tomorrow," McGonagall said to the boy.

Dumbledore nodded "I agree, it's been a rather trying day for you Mr. Potter I believe a good night will go a long way" as they all left the room.

Harry and Minerva made their way to the Gryffindor tower, she put a hand around his shoulder pulling him close in a tight hug saying "It's okay Harry, I know you didn't do it, let it out Harry, let it go" she said rubbing his back.

Her words brought him over the edge as he hugged her back, tears streaming from his eyes dumping her shoulder on the as he cried silently. He found her warmth comforting, the feeling of her breasts against his chest was beyond words.

He stopped himself from those thoughts and stepped back, he was glad that the corridor was empty and dark, it made it easier for him to hide his hardness. He looked at Minerva, his friend not professor and before he knew what he was doing he leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek close to mouth, before saying "Thank you, Minerva, Good Night" as he walked towards the tower.

Standing frozen in her place Minerva touched her right cheek and couldn't help but smile and blush a little. She started in the direction of her office feeling happier than ever.

Reaching the portrait he quickly gave a password and walked into the room only to find the common room empty except for Hermione and Twins.

The busy-haired witch turned and seeing him ran to hug him "Harry! How was it? What happened?" she asked him as they moved to the couch.

"Harrikins we …"

"… Know you didn't…"

" … put your name in the goblet but…"

"… that doesn't mean, we don't support…"

"…after all, it was the best prank ever…."

"…worthy of Marauders!" Twins said

He chuckled shaking him "I know but I didn't, anyway, it's a magical contract so I have to compete. If I don't I will lose magic, life, or both"

"We will get through this Harry don't worry, we are with you," she said repeating her early statement to reassert that they were with him.

He nodded informing them "First task is on 29th November"

There was a silence where all three looked at him to continue only for him to shrug his shoulder "That's it!" seeing their gaping expression he stood up saying "Anyway I am tired, so I am turning in, see you guys tomorrow"

He made his way up to his room, removing his cloak he hung it on the stand followed by his sweater and his shoes. After changing into his sleeping wear he settled in his bed and leaned back. He thought about his day and in the end, concluded that it was better than his second year. This time he had people who believed him.

It made everything bearable and suddenly he felt courage brewing in him. He has survived, basilisks and dementors, he can survive this too. Hardening his resolve he turned looking at the photo frame of his parents as he said "I will survive mum, Dad, no matter what, I will live through this tournament and make you proud

No, I will not just survive but win! I didn't enter this tournament but I will do the best I can. I will win this and make you proud" With fire in his emerald eyes and resolve in his heart he closed his eyes.

That night he didn't have a nightmare instead his dreams were about a certain professor, a redhead, and a veela. And unknown to him all three of them in the same castle at different locations were dreaming about him.

Somewhere far away a woman in the forest smiled as she witnessed these events, while a man living out of space and time watched in his orb with a mischievous smile on his face.
