November 1st, Black Manor
The morning started as normal as it could for Lord Black, he woke up and finished what he called a manly beauty maintenance [It takes a lot to maintain those locks] before making his way down to have breakfast.
He was alone that morning with most of his family out, Remus was out on a contract somewhere in Lechia hunting down some monster for a price of a penny. Dora was on duty and Andi had a late shift at St. Mungos as she was sleeping, leaving him to have breakfast alone.
Thanking Jippy for the breakfast he took a sip of his coffee, he was grateful that Lily introduced him to his golden liquid which he was addicted to now. He chased the bitter taste with a bite of ricotta pancake with honeycomb butter. Opening the latest issue of Daily Prophet, just as he was about to start reading, a couple of letters appearing on the table drew his attention.
First was an urgent summons to Gringotts Bank, the letter stated for him to come by 10 for the meeting. It was nine-thirty which left him with half an hour. Cocking his head he wonder what it was about, but leaving it for now he turned and took the second one which brought a smile to his face.
It was from Harry, he could tell by the writing, it was another trait Lily passed to him, beautiful handwriting. Taking the envelope with a smile, he opened it musing "Okay Pup let's see what mischie…" he stopped mid-sentence leaning forward as his countenance changed to serious turning into grim.
Anger coursing in his veins, his magic thrumming as he stood up with enough that his chair fell back, making his way to the fireplace he took floo powder from an old bowl and threw it in the fire shouting "Hogwarts Headmaster Office!" with enough venom to kill a hippogriff.
He huffed waiting for the fire to turn green as it did a voice called "Ah, Sirius I was just…"
"Shut it Dumbledore! What's the meaning of this?! Why is my godson entered into this life-threatening tournament!" he roared furiously.
"It's a dire situation but nothing can be done, Harry is in a magical contract, and breaking it means him losing his magic, life or both" Dumbledore answered in a somber tone.
Sirius took a deep breath answering "Albus, I know what the situation is! I and James did a freaking paper on the goblet for our runes classes in our Sixth year! What I am interested to know is, how did this happen? I know Harry didn't do it, especially not yesterday" he swallowed and continued "That means someone entered his name! Someone wants him dead!"
"I am aware of the implications Sirius, and I can assure you, it's being investigated by Moody who is cooperating with the Magical Artifact department of Minister and ICW, we will make sure whatever scheme is afoot, will never come to completion," Dumbledore told to the man sincerely trust to calm the angry godfather.
Sirius let out a frustrated growl saying "See that you do Dumbledore, I am not letting them down again, I am not going to let Harry down again" before cutting the line by throwing the powder.
Grunting he moved to his usual chair and threw his head back, it wasn't something he needed today. Yesterday he mourned his friend all day and drank till he passed out, he was looking forward to starting today positively, but all that went down the drain. He needed to talk to Harry but that wouldn't be possible till late at night.
Standing up from the chair took more effort than it should for him, his inner turmoil affecting his energy. He was thankful for the caffeine in his system kicking in, he checked the grandfather's watch which showed it 20 minutes before his meeting. Hurrying he made his way to the master bedroom to change. He was out in 5 minutes wearing matte gray robes with a Black Thestral adorning his right chest with golden clasps in the front.
"Jippy!" he called out and as the elf popped out and informed "I am going to Diagon Alley for some business, If Mistress Andromeda asks" before apparating out of the entrance lobby with a loud pop.
With another pop he appeared in a quiet alley near Fortescue Ice Cream, the smell of cold sweet confectionery enticed his near child for a second as he moved past it. The short walk brings him a sense of nostalgia, it's been a while since he came here.
He walked towards his destination which was a crooked white building at the end of the street. He had been there before for some house business which included his intention to name Harry as his heir only to be shocked that it was already in the will of his Grandfather Arcturus Black III.
To this day it was a mystery to him when and why that happened, as he climbed the marble stairs of the back. As he entered, he could feel the Hobgoblins in armor with spears in their hands. It was no surprise to him that goblins resented wizards for their treatment of them.
Making his way to the inquiry counter at the end of the lobby where an old-looking goblin sat with a permanent frown on his face he asked "Excuse me, Goblin Jagtooth, I am Lord Sirius Orion Black II, here for a meeting"
The goblin stared at him in disgust before grunting and ringing a bell "You are a minute late wizard" Just then a smaller and younger-looking goblin came to them. The older goblin said something in Gobbledegook before turning to Sirius informing him "Rawgarth, here will take you to the meeting"
"Come with me wizard," the young goblin said not even trying to hide his disgust but Sirius was made of thicker material and followed him silently. It was a familiar lobby with followed by stairs going down followed by a lobby where they turned right, there were rows of doors with many family names on the door, he noticed Bones which had a white Caladrius on it, followed by a Longbottom which had a green Yggdrasil, Greengrass with Preyton in forest green.
Then came Potter with Royal Gryphon in red and adjacent to it was his destination, Black Account Manager Office. His Goblin guide knocked on the door which was, an answer came from the office in gobbledegook which he answered in the same manner.
The guide told him "You can go in" before walking away.
He entered the room which was like a small library with bookshelf which were filled with rolls and rolls of parchment. In the middle of the room, the older goblin was sitting behind a large mahogany table. He walked forward greeting "May your enemies quiver in fear, Master Bloodtooth"
"May your coffers flow with treasure, Lord Black" the Goblin answered in a wizened tone offering Sirius a seat.
"Master Bloodtooth, you have me at a loss as to what is the matter that requires my urgent attention" Sirius inquired.
The goblin shook his head letting out a disgruntled voice saying "Trust me, Lord Black, I wouldn't bother you if it wasn't important. It's a matter of the Black Heir, your Godson, Harry James Potter" he noticed the man expression turn grim he asked, "Are you informed about the recent ongoing of Hogwarts?"
He nodded with a sigh saying "I am Master Goblin, Harry has been entered, against his will I might add, into the Merlin Cup Tournament"
"Indeed but the consequences of that are much more drastic, now if you will let me I will inform you about them but before that I must wait for Honorblade, Potter Master Goblin to join us"
Sirius waited for a few seconds later the bookshelf on the right side slid open and Honorclaw entered, the Potter Master Accountant looked a little older than the Bloodtooth, Sirius got up and greeted "May your enemies fall on your blade Master Honorclaw"
"Ah! May your coffers stay full for eternity!" the Goblin answered in a happier tone as he settled in a comfortable chair. He turned Bloodtooth "You may start, youngling"
Bloodtooth stared at Sirius daring the wizard to laugh, which to his credit Lord Black didn't, he started "Heir Potter's name was entered into the Goblet which was supposed to choose of age witches and wizards. The strong magic of the artifact accepted him which rippled to others as such he is now considered of age in the eye of magic"
Sirius stayed silent for a minute before asking "What does it mean, Master Goblins?"
Honorclaw explained "It means that in the eyes of magic Heir Potter is an adult regardless of his age, it brings with it certain responsibilities, roles, and binding with it" he pulled a few documents out and placed them on the table.
Sirius caught on only to gasp "Merlin!"
"First thing is he is now Heir Apparent of House Potter and Black. When he takes up the lordship he will become a Lord, but as he is a sole heir it is a foregone conclusion that he is Lord Potter"
Honorclaw continued "Another thing is Lord Potter hasn't met me or has yet to take his inheritance test with our department, which he should have after his 11th birthday, as such we don't know what other titles he holds"
Sirius nodded saying "I know Hagrid brought him here, he doesn't know these things, I will bring him for that in Yule"
Honorclaw nodded "See that you do, moving on, I would like to inform you about a contract that has been activated since last night, marriage contracts"
"Indeed" the goblin answered taking an old and aged parchment and passing it to the wizard informing "As you have guessed it is between House Black and Potter"
After a nod, Bloodtooth started "It was in 1980 soon after the birth of Heir Potter-Black when Lord Arcturus Black along with Lady Melanie Black, Lord Charlus, and Dorea Potter, came to us. It was a similar meeting"
"Back then Lord Black was worried about the future of his house and his granddaughters, due to their parents' machinations in the war. He talked to Lord & Lady Potter, the contract is the result of their decision"
There was silence for a minute before Honorclaw started "Lord Black in-woked a blood debt Lord Potter owed to make it so that Next Lord Potter Must marry Daughters of House Black before his fifteenth name day Lady Potter was not too keen about her grandson being forced into this as such in return she asked her brother to make him heir after you"
Sirius sat there in awe before taking a look at the contract leaning back he massaged the bridge of his nose asking "And as I can't have any children due to my time at Azkaban, Harry became my heir" he sighed before going straight asking "Wait did you say daughters? As in all of them?" looking at Bloodtooth as he nodded he asked, "That means…."
"Yes Lord Black, Lord Harry James Potter your Heir is to marry Bellatrix Black, Andromeda Black, and Nymphadora Tonks-Black, he must be blood sworn to them before his fifteenth birthday, and to copulate their marriage in the following year, binding their marriage in eye of magic" Bloodtooth informed with a feral grin.
Sirius shook his head telling furiously "No! NO! You must be mistaken about Bellatrix, she is already married! To Rudolphus Lestrange!"
Bloodtooth shook his head "I am afraid you are misinformed, Ms. Bellatrix Black was sold to Rudolphous Lestrange as a slave in December of 1980, just a month after this contract was made by her father Cygnus and your mother Walburga. Since then she is under a slave bond to obey her master and see the world as he does, a simple example is that Rudolphous is fanatically devoted to Dark Lord, and so is she"
Sirius sat there stunned, for all these years he thought Bellatrix was a psycho but she was a victim of his mother's scheme, just like him, no, even more than him. He stood straighter asking "Do you still have that contract?" getting a nod from his Accountant he asked ", Can I dissolve it?"
"Yes as Lord Black you are in authority" Bloodtooth nodded as he brought the parchment which had blood writing. Getting a question look "It was written with the blood that came when he took her virginity, though I must suggest you hold off doing that just yet as it might be wiser to prove her innocence in the court"
Sirius had a look of determination and contemplation as he nodded "I agree with you master goblin, but I would like the copy of the slave contract as evidence to procure a trial date"
The goblin copied the parchment handing the copy to Sirius while, Bloodtooth vanished the original with a swipe of his hand, asking "Am I to assume you will inform the parties and see to it that conditions of contract are fulfilled?"
The wizard nodded saying "I will Master Goblin, it's a lot to take in" he said feeling a little overwhelmed.
Honorclaw nodded "Indeed, I would like to meet the Lord Potter and he needs to take the Inheritance test as soon as possible as he may hold other titles"
"I will Master Honorblade" as he stood saying "Now I must take my leave" After repeating the greeting he left making his way out of the bank, trying to get his wrapped around all the information he just received.
He made his way to Leaky Cauldron only after giving the barkeep a quick greeting he ordered a beer. He nestled his bottle alone in the booth, his mind going over how the situation came to be.
How the lives of four, maybe five Black cousins were destroyed by his mother, he was abused and tortured for being sorted into Gryffindor, which continued until he ran in his third year to live with Potters.
His brother became a death eater under her guidance.
Bellatrix, the strongest, fiercest, most skilled, and cunning was forced to bend to the lesser man. He now knew why Lily never believed that Bella was one of them. Every time she was the only one who could stop Bella in a battle.
Andromeda, Bella's twin, escaped with a slap on her wrist, or at least that's what they thought until the brutalized body of Ted Tonks was found hanging in the Diagon Alley.
He remembered that day clearly and images were haunting him every day. It left Andromeda broken for weeks, Aunt Dorea taking care of Little Dora for the time being.
Last was Narcissa, one who till now he thought married willingly, he knew it cause while she did live with Malfoy, was nothing more than a trophy wife. He had a suspicion that she was pressured into marrying the git.
"Fuck! That Bitch! She ruined everything!" he swore taking one large swing of his drink, leaving the establishment, going back to the Alley. He walked towards Fortescue Frozen treats buying some for himself, Andi, and Remus, hoping it would help him with breaking the news, he apparated back home.
"Jippy!" he called.
The elf came with a pop his ears flopping "Welcome back Master Black"
He smiled "Thank you, here take them, and is Remus back?" getting a nod he nodded "Alright, put some out for all of us and bring it to the lounge" he moved towards the lounge, and he saw Remus and Andromeda sitting in silence with one reading a Prophet while other was reading a book.
"Morning Andi, and welcome back Moony, so how was it hunting a Kappa?" as he settled in the empty chair as as his usual one was occupied.
Werewolf groaned "Don't ask it was a tough one let's leave it at that" before he folded the paper and sat it down on the side table "So where were you this morning?"
"Chasing birds again, Siri?" Andromeda chipped in with a teasing grin on her face. She waited for a quip but when nothing came she put her book aside asking "Okay what happened Sirius?" in a serious voice.
"I a received letter from Harry today earlier" his tone immediately alerted others that something big had happened making them share a look before they continued "Last night champions for Merlin Cup were chosen by Goblet" he paused swallowing a lump ending "Someone entered Harry's names, he is Champion of Hogwarts and Britain"
There was silence for a minute before Andromeda jumped "WHAT IS GOING ON IN THAT SCHOOL! WHAT IS DUMBLEDORE DOING?! HOW CAN THEY LET HARRY COMPETE IN A DEATH TOURNAMENT" yelling in anger.
Sirius winced before saying "I know Andi! I am not happy about that, I gave that old fart a piece of my mind earlier! You can have your turn but only after I am done telling you what I need to. Jippy!" called and 3 bowls of ice cream appeared on the table "Here sit, eat and cool down"
Remus was silent but fuming as he asked "There is more?" as he took his friend's advice and took a bowl of Night Ginger ice cream, his favorite, followed by Andi taking Cave Morinda Sandae in her lap.
"Oh so much more Moony, there was another letter from Gringotts, it was a summons from the Black Account Master Goblin Bloodtooth," Sirius said taking his rain Grape ice cream, "I learned many things about our family Andi, some important and some disgusting"
Andromeda was now really curious she asked "What is it, Siri? Just tell us already!"
"Okay, Okay," he said starting "First when Harry's name was chosen by the goblet he became an adult in the eyes of Magic, which means he is now Lord Potter unofficially at least. And because he is an adult as per magic, the marriage contract between House Black and Potter is activated"
He watched as Andi went eyes wide asking "Is it for Dora?" a large smile playing on her face with hope in her eyes.
"Well, No and Yes. Let me clarify, Grandfather, Grandmother, Mom, and Dad went to Gringotts, it seems Arcturus cared more about you three of you than any of us knew. He set up a marriage contract to marry the daughters of House Black to Heir Potter when he comes to age. Mom was not happy with it so she negotiated for Harry to be heir after me. It was 4 months after Harry was born"
Andromeda gave him a confused look before she gasped "You mean! We both have to marry Harry?" she tried to sound affronted but it came out as a little hopeful and slightly husky.
Sirius shook his head saying "Again yes and No. Remember, that following December we heard that Bellatrix married Rudolphous?" getting a nod from her sister he sighed "Well Andi, that was a big fat lie! That bitch Walburga and bastard Cygnus gave her to that monster as a slave! It was made such that her worldview wrapped according to him! That means the crazy psychotic killer Bellatrix Lestrange is not our sister! Bella is buried somewhere under her. I just annulled the contract at the Gringotts, now we have to get her out of Azkaban, she is innocent Andi"
There was heavy silence in the room, both men waited with a baited breath looking at Andi who sat still in her place, as if she was turned into a stone. After a few minutes, a single tear rolled down Andi's right cheek, she took a shaky breath saying "She knew it Siri! Mum knew it! She never believed Bella wasn't evil! Even Lily knew it!" she said her body shaking as she continued "All these years, I have blamed her for Ted! All this time hating her, loathing that she is my sister! We were so wrong Siri, we failed her, you, me, our parents, we all failed her" a sob wrecking out of her
Sirius stood and made his way to her he hugged her, letting her cry in his arms before letting her go and saying "I know Andi, we will work to make it right, just like a family does"
She nodded solemnly reflecting his determination "Yes we will"
Remus who was sitting at the side feeling more than a little like an intruder at this family moment finally asked "Um, Padfoot what are the terms of the contract? Does it have an out clause drawing the attention of both Black siblings.
Sirius shook his head asking "No, Moony, Bloodtooth was through about it, no exit clause for either party" looking a little apologetically at his cousin and continued "As per the contract we Harry and his brides must be blood sworn to each other before his 15th birthday and" he smirked ending "copulate the marriage in next"
Andromeda smirked back saying "Why Siri? Jealous of your godson? Green is not your color" as she sat back in her chair and started eating her ice cream, while Remus laughed at his gaping friend.
Sitting back in his chair he recovered asking "I know you are okay with it, I know that Nymphadora will be too, but I don't know how to break it to Pup" he sighed leaning back in his chair.
Remus nodded "I know, he is already in pressure to compete in a tournament which has a history of death! Now this contract will only add to it"
Andromeda nodded, as much as it pained her she knew they needed time. She needed time to adjust to the new reality of her sister being innocent and had to free her from that magic-forsaken place.
"I know Moony, that's why I will tell him when he is home during the Yule holidays after I take him to get his inheritance test at the bank" Getting a confused look from both he elaborated "When he first came to Alley for first year shopping, it was Hagrid and our gentle giant doesn't know about all the house business. I will take him later"
Remus nodded but Andromeda raised her eyebrow asking "Why was Hagrid the one to bring him to the alley? Shouldn't it be Minerva or Flitwick taking first-year students shopping?"
Sirius nodded "You're right Andi they should but Dursley's made it so he was late so Hagrid picked him up" he answered casually not seeing the alarms going off in his cousin's head, but she kept her suspicions to herself.
"Even if that happens you won't be able to free Bellatrix, everyone thinks that she joined Dark lord for her violation. Our largest obstacle will be Augusta, she still blames her for Frank and Alice's death and she will never accept that she is innocent"
"Don't worry about that, with Vertias serum along with, Lestrange brother's confession to the…" Andromeda stopped and swallowed a lump "…slave bonding ritual and that night will essentially clear her, if needed we can show the memories but I want to keep it as a last resort"
Sirius nodded "I will arrange a meeting with Bones to discuss the matter, further, it will be good to have you there Andi, she doesn't like me that much but I know for the fact she would love to discredit Crouch" making Andi chuckle along with Remus.
"So Andi, any idea how you are going to tell Dora that both of you are going to be sister wives?" Sirius asked with a teasing smile playing on her face.
Only Andromeda waved it off saying "Oh don't worry about that Siri, she is all over him and will be over the moon hearing about this" taking a bite of her ice cream and leaning back ending "As for both of us marrying him, let's just say it's nothing you need to worry about" in a teasing tone.
"Ugh! Too much information, Andi! Just talk to her tonight okay?" Sirius said looking a little green and so was Remus while Andi enjoyed their misery.
Recovering first Remus asked "Okay so what about the tournament? I mean I know Harry can hold on his own if his performance at the World Cup but a tournament is a different beast altogether!"
Sirius groaned "I know, he will need training to face whatever is coming at him, but I don't think they will allow it and professors can't help him right" There was a silence all the while Andi was watching, and thinking how long will it take them to realize.
It wasn't long until both Marauders exclaimed "TONK!" "NYMPHADORA!" and Sirius continued "Auror's will be there as the security and management of the tournament! She will there than she could train him for the tournament"
Andi chuckled starting sarcastically "Took you long enough, Siri" She put her empty bowl on the table before standing up "I will talk to her later tonight when she comes home, now If you will excuse me I have work to do" standing up and taking her leave.
For the rest of the day she was in her room working on the patient reports, potion stocks, cataloging, and figuring out the funds for other things needed for the Magical Trauma Ward of St. Mungos. It was her cross to bear, being the chief healer of the hospital and in charge of a department.
It wasn't until it was too late that she realized that she skipped dinner. Making her way down to the lounge she found her daughter who was spotting her usual neon pink, sitting on the couch wearing some loose sleeveless top and shorts, reading to latest issue of Witches Weekly.
"Something Interesting dear?" she asked walking towards him and sitting beside her on the couch.
Tonks looked up at her and smiled closing the book magazine, keeping it aside answering "Oh nothing new, what about you? Having a late night?"
Nodding Andi gave a tired smile before continuing "Yeah" Before going silent for a minute, she took a deep breath starting "Dora something happened last night at Hogwarts H…"
"What?! Mom, what happened? Is Harry okay? Is he in trouble?" Dora interrupted asking questions at a rapid pace as her hair turned a shade of purple which was a clear sign of her concern if her tone wasn't evident enough.
"Calm down Dora! He is fine" Andromeda said trying to placate her, seeing it work she continued "but he is in trouble, you know what is happening at Hogwarts?" the widening of her daughter's eyes was all the conformation she needed, not giving her any time to question she continued "Someone put her name in the Goblet and was then chosen as the champion of Hogwarts and Britain in the Merlin Cup"
Stunned to silence for a minute Nymphadora's hair turned dark purple as she asked "How is he? How is he taking all of it?"
"He wrote Sirius today in the morning, that's how all of us found out. But dear there is more to it, you see when goblet chose him in the eye of magic he became an adult as it's the requirement of the tournament. And as a result of that a contract between House Potter and House Black was activated"
She watched her daughter's hair change colors once again, turning yellow before she gasped in realization and blushed asking "Yo… u… mom… you, are saying… I am to Marry… Harr-Bear?" her hair now dark rose pink.
Andi shook her head saying "Not just you dear, the Contract said that he is to marry daughters of House Black when he is of age, that means, Bellatrix, you, and I"
Nymphadora was stunned once again as she tried to process everything, she started "Um… so we are going to be sister wives?"
"Well yeah cause not doing so would mean death or losing our magic, I don't think it will be that bad if anything it will only bring us closer" She shifted closer to her putting an arm around her and Dora pulled her in a side hug ending "And Happier"
Nymphadora looked at her mother with a soft smile on her face, her eyes on her plump lips. She smirked, leaned up, and placed a chaste kiss on them saying "I love the idea, Mum. More than you will ever know" resting her head on the older woman's shoulder, closing her eyes.
Her eyes flew open as she removed herself from her mother asking "Mum, did you just say, Bellatrix, you and I?! As in Bellatrix Lestrange!?" in disbelief.
"Dora before you go off let me tell you what Sirius found out about what happened to Bella all those years ago," Andi said, and seeing her daughter keeping quiet she explained how Bella was sold as a slave to Rudolphous Lestrange by their father Cygnus and Aunt Walburga.
How she isn't in control of her actions since then, how Sirius freed her from the slave bond in the morning, and how they were planning to fight her case in Wizengamot.
The revelation stunned Nymphadora, shaking the very foundation of her being, her father's death was the reason she joined the Auror Corps. She let out a deep sigh asking with a trembling "That all this time, she was a puppet of her husband and Dark Lord? Nothing she did was for herself?"
Andi wiped her tears telling "No, the woman who did all those things, it wasn't my sister, it wasn't the woman who was Lily's best friend and Protege. That woman is the result of the slave bond but we will free her as she is innocent"
Dora nodded "I am here for you Mum, whatever you need, If you want I can talk to Boss about it"
"No dear, leave that to us, you, my love have another task, you are part of the auror security going to Hogwarts for the tournament?"
"Yeah, I am going with King" she answered before giving a knowing smile "Oh, I see, don't worry Mom I will make sure that our man is ready to face anything he faces in the tournament"
Andi nodded "I know dear but there is something else, you can't tell Harry about the contract it will only pressure him"
Dora nodded before asking "But mom what if he is in love with another girl at Hogwarts? What than? I don't have any problem with it, as long as Harry loves me equally"
Andi bit her lips saying "Me too, Harry deserves all the love in the world and has a big place for many, I am happy to have a corner in his heart for myself" hugging her daughter kissing her on the lip saying "Love you, Dora"
She returned with an intense kiss filled with love saying "I love you too Mom!"
