November 1st
The morning was similar to one she had experienced two years ago, it was the morning after her crush was accused of being a dark wizard due to his ability to speak with snakes. Back then she was so swept up in the widespread paranoia and fear that couldn't see what was in front of her. It was Harry Potter, for Merlin's sake! How could anyone think that he was the one attacking students.
She shook her head in disappointment about herself sending her crimson hair flying everywhere as he got out of her bed. She moved to her vanity, looking at her reflection she sighed saying "Well Bones, time to be true Puff" before she started combing her waist-long locks.
After completing her morning ablutions and routine she looked at the the bedside table, which showed 7, smiling she made her way to the kitchens and stood there waiting. She knew the way he disappeared last time that he would be coming here for breakfast which was something she couldn't let him continue.
It was a very simple concept, if you are accused of something and you run from it rather than face the crowd it will only make you look more guilty even if you are innocent. It was one of the many things she learned from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and her aunt.
Years of watching her aunt investigating cases and putting criminals behind bars made Susan adept at picking up clues in body language. Which led to her obsession with Mr. Holmes and Dr. Watson, quoting the detective every moment she could.
The first year, she loved freaking people out with her observations about them, she still remembered how she outed Cedric and Cho last year in the common room. The look on the older boy's face was priceless. All it took was a crumble of fortune cookies on his cloak and some imported ink from Qin or China on his hand from when the couple was in the library.
But as much as her observation skills were a blessing they were also a curse. She remembered the day on the train. When she was searching for Hannah Abbot, her best friend, and stumbled upon a quiet boy sitting alone in the compartment. A glance at his forehead was all it took to know who it was, for a second she couldn't believe it.
He was skinny, not healthy kind. It was like he was starved, his complexion was paler than it should be, he was smaller than her and shorter. The way he startled at her entrance told her that he wasn't used to people being around him. But all that went out of the way when he looked up from the ground and at her, the moment she looked at those emerald pools, she knew it was over for her.
The short interaction was the most awkward one she ever had with anyone, cause both of them stuttered three sentences each, a greeting, a question/answer, and a goodbye. Later at the opening feast after their sorting, she couldn't help but notice that he was constantly fidgeting and looking around. Only talking to someone to exchange a short greeting or answer a question before clamping up again.
From then on she was a silent observer, looking at how he slowly opened up to Weasley and after the Halloween with Granger. It was clear to everyone that Harry and Hermione were a lot closer than he and Weasley, but never in a romantic way. It was a sibling bond, much like her and Hannah.
She watched how sad he was on the first Yule holiday, missing his parents. But the other thing was he didn't go to celebrate with his relatives, it told her that either he didn't like them or they were out on a trip, as such he couldn't go. Knowing everything she knew she concluded former.
It was the same on the last day of the first year, his face looking like someone kicked a puppy. In the summer she thought about telling her aunt about everything but wasn't sure if she was right, so she decided against it.
The pattern repeated in the second year only this time he was a little open, not happy but not that closed off, maybe it was his friendship with twin pranksters helping him. Taking it as a sign she gathered her courage to approach him after the dueling club, which didn't go very well. She caved in under fear and everything that made her blind, harry's tendency to avoid the crowd only made him guiltier in her mind.
Oh how wrong she was! When she got down to the rationale of things, she concluded that she was an utter and complete idiot. No wonder Holmes needs Watson, he helps him by not letting him get in over his head.
Last year marked a change for her as her Bones family trait came along with puberty, making the her object of many boys' fantasies. She knew it and was proud of it, cause they could fantasize but only one could touch her. But she couldn't even look at him and every time she did, she could feel nothing but guilt within her.
It was still there but was overshadowed by her desire to help him unlike last time, she wasn't leaving his side. She was tapping her foot anxiously biting her lip and craning her head at the corridor, after a minute she saw the healthier form of emerald-eyed Gryffindor coming towards her.
He looked a little tired, no sleep, she guessed by the way he was dragging his feet which was unusual. She smiled as she stepped forward slowly not to startle him greeting "Morning Harry"
"Hey Susan, um… late again?" he asked tentatively. He didn't think anyone would be here, he just wanted to enjoy a quiet breakfast after last night's fiasco.
She shook her head saying "No, actually I here waiting for you"
He sighed saying "Susan I… I didn't put my name in the goblet" looking defeated.
She gave him a soft smile saying "I know Harry, I believe you" Seeing his surprised expression she gave an amused smile "Don't look so surprised, the way you were yesterday no way you would enter the tournament"
He didn't know what to do, aside from Minerva, Hermione, Twins, Neville, and probably Fleur and his family, Susan was the first person to believe in him. His first crush since the day they met briefly on the train. With a light dusting on his face, he gave a grateful smile "Thank you, Susan"
"Don't, I… I didn't believe you in the second year, with everything that was happening with the chamber. I should have known that you would never do that, I am so sorry Harry" she confessed looking like she was on the verge of crying, with her eyes glistening.
The honesty tugged at his heartstrings, once again it was something he didn't know how to handle. Give him s basilisk: he can kill it with a sword but a girl crying? No clue. Gently he stepped forward and hugged her (which took a lot of courage) saying "It's okay Sue, you are the only one who apologized for that and that's all that matters, it makes you way better than everyone else" not knowing that his face was bright red.
The action stunned her only for a second before she hugged him tightly "Thank you Harry! I promise to be by your side through this! I promise!" she rambled without knowing that her breast pressed into his chest was doing things to him.
She released him only to see his face which was red a pumpkin and his breath was labored with concern as she asked "Harry! Are you okay? Do you need to go to Madame Pomfrey?"
"Um… no, just a little hungry and didn't sleep well, that's it nothing else," He said trying to control and hide his hardening organ under his heavy cloak.
Susan looked at him suspiciously not believing him, he wasn't meeting her eyes like before, angling his body away from her holding his cloak tighter to himself. That's when it hit her, it made her blush. He was hard for her! Oh, Merlin, she couldn't help but feel pleased.
She gave a coy smile saying "Oh, well then let's remedy that, to the Great Hall!" as she started pulling him towards the direction of their destination, and still a little stunned by everything he let himself be carried.
It was only when they were near he gathered himself and stopped saying "Susan, I don't think I can, I just don't want to…"
"I know, you don't want to face their judgmental stares and accusations, but you have to. It's the only way they will stop" she said before he could complete and added "If you run and hide, you will let them know you are affected, that you are guilty. But if you show up every day, don't react to their taunts or jibes, they lose their power, and eventually they will lose interest making them stop"
Harry stood there silent as he contemplated every word, and the more he thought about it he realized she was right. For people to stop talking he has to show up and prove them wrong. With a determined expression, he gave a solemn nod as he walked towards the Great Hall with Susan beside him.
Entering the Hall he made his way to the Gryffindor table ignoring all the glances and glares from others in the Hall. He noticed Hermione or Neville weren't there yet as he took his usual seat on the table, but was surprised when Susan sat beside him.
He turned to her concerned as he said "You don't have to do this Susan, you have already done enough, telling me what I needed to hear. I don't want to paint a target on your back because you are helping me"
She smiled "You aren't making me do anything and let them try, I know how to put people in the place, so don't worry about it ear" as she started to serve herself some eggs.
He smiled and started plating his breakfast, after a second silence was broken when Hermione came running with Neville following behind with the Twins "Harry! Where were you? We were waiting for you. I was worried sick!"
The boy in question gave a sheepish smile "Sorry Mione' I woke up early and went on a walk, were I met Sue..san, then we came here" as all four of them settled on the bench across them.
"So Bones…."
"How is it that…"
"You graced, Harrykins…"
"Here with your presence…"
"On this day?" the Twins asked in a suggestive tone with their eyebrows wiggling in sync.
Susan smirked "Oh it's nothing we met outside and I decided to join him on the walk, then we came back here for lunch" She turned to Neville saying "Hannah is still not here so I decided to join Harry, better than being alone" with a coy smile on her face.
While Neville turned cherry red while Hermione directed a warm smile at Susan. She didn't want Harry to be alone today not after yesterday. She wasn't able to sleep last night, her worry for her brother keeping it at bay. She knew that he didn't enter himself which meant once again someone was trying to kill him just this time they were being sneaky.
She had a plan in mind for how to help him, her first stop was going to the library and perusing through the books about tournaments, to find some references about the first task. Any clue even tiniest would be enough for them to get the ball rolling. That meant spending unreasonable hours there with no one to look after Harry, so Susan and after their talk, Fleur being there would be good for him.
Seeing Hannah enter Susan jumped up from her seat saying "Oh she is here, okay I will see you guys later, Bye Harry" as she jogged towards the Hufflepuff table eager to share everything that had happened this morning.
As they watched her leave, Harry's eyes followed her with a smile on his looking at her swaying form before they fell on Fleur who just entered with Marie and Celine beside her.
She was looking as beautiful as ever, her silvery blond hair made in an elaborate braid which laid elegantly on her right shoulder, against her white woolen cloak with silver clasps, with her a light red top underneath with white pants.
Her sapphire blue eyes were looking directly at him, he could feel his cheeks getting warmer as she gave him a warm smile and started walking towards their table. Their eye contact didn't break until she was near him and greeted "Bonjour 'Arry" with a smile on her face.
He smiled replying "Bonjour Fleur, Marie, and Celine" as Fleur took a seat beside him much to the surprise of everyone in the room except for a few. Other than the four Gryffindors, Minerva and Madame Maxim were included. Last night her student came to her stating that her friendship with Harry Potter was separate from their champion status and told her that it was a private matter which means it was none of the headmistress's business.
The half-giantess was completely stunned by what was an ultimatum from her star student even more that she was that protective about her competitor. The way it was said it left nothing for her to do but comply.
"Bonjour 'Arry" Marie and Celine answered in unison with smiles on their face standing behind Fleur.
"You can have a seat, you will get tired standing all day, join us," he said gesturing to the empty seats around them and was happy to see them accept, sitting on his other side.
"So how are you liking Hogwarts? Charmed?" He asked taking a sip of orange juice from his goblet.
She gave him an amused smile saying "Oui, it is charming but it is also cold 'ere" shivering a little before adding "And your food is so greasy and 'eavy, I don't know 'ow you eat it"
It made everyone chuckle and Hermione answered "I agree with you Fleur but it keeps us warm and gives us extra calories to work in cold"
Harry nodded saying "So, Ms. Delacour you have to get used to it, 'cause otherwise, you will catch a cold due to lack of heat" as he ate his greasy eggs.
Not missing a beat she retorted "Oh I don't zink so 'Arry, You can always help me" The last part came out as husky and low enough that only he could hear her when he looked at her in shock his face flushed. She gave an innocent smile "By letting me borrow your cloak if needed"
He gave an eager nod "I… Yeah I will… of course I will…" as he concentrated on his food, trying to hide his face and steer his mind from all the dirty thoughts staring the Veela.
Fleur was happy to see the effect her comment had on him as she too was wet between her legs and milk leaking from her nipples, she was glad that she enchanted her undergarments for a situation exactly like this.
Watching the play Hermione chuckled at her brother's plight "So, have you guys looked around the castle yet? Better get used to it or you will never make it to classes on time, speaking from experience"
"We 'ave been zinking about getting a tour, just need to find a perfect guide" Marie answered as she took a sip of her orange juice, with her partner nodding with their eyes on the boy sitting on their left.
Hermione didn't notice it and gasped saying "Oh Harry can do it!" causing the boy to choke on his food a little as she continued "No one knows Hogwarts better than him"
Before he could even utter a word Fleur asked " 'Arry will you give us a tour? It would be very 'elpful" giving her best puppy eyes.
He was helpless against her sapphire blue eye "O-of course I would be happy to Fleur" he was rewarded with a blinding smile.
"Magnifique! Merci, mon Ami!" before going back to eating her chocolate croissant and coffee.
After a few minutes, Hermione left for the Library, Neville went to the greenhouse to help Professor Sprout and Twins wondered off with smiles that had Harry worried. He along with his Fleur, Marie, and Celine in front of the Great Hall.
He smiled "Okay, um.. Let's start" leading them to the reception hall and saying "When I first got here, Mine… uh… I mean Professor McGonagall gave us a speech about our houses and how they were going to be like family right on this staircase," he said leading.
Fleur could see the anguish on his face when he said the word family, which she expected knowing that he was an orphan but something else was added in that. She looked at Celine and Marie who had similar expressions on their face. Falling in step beside him she asked "So 'Ow did you people get 'ere?" trying to distract him.
"Oh we come on the train, Hogwarts Express. From King's Cross Station in London to the Hogsmeade station" he answered as he led them out to the courtyard.
" 'Ogsmeade?" Celine asked cocking her head.
Nodding he answered "Yeah, it's a small town not far from here, you can get most of the things you need get their, ink pots, quills, parchment, chocolates, couple of places to eat. We can go there during weekends if we have a signed permission slip" with a found smile on his lips.
Marie jumped a little enthusiastically clapping her hand "Oh! We 'Ave to visit zere too! It sounds interesting, you will take us there right 'Arry?" giving her best puppy eyes with her partner joining, once again he was powerless could only nod.
Fleur glared at her friends only to receive a coy smile from them as she turned "So you met 'Ermione on the train?"
"Yeah," he answered with a large smile on his face "She was helping Neville to find his pet toad when she came to our compartment, Ronald Weasley and mine. Ronald was trying to show off a spell" his face turning ice with every mention of the youngest Weasley son "She was interested in seeing what he does, he failed" in a matter of fact tone before adding "Anyway, she came in and displayed that she was better, fixed my glasses for me! Since then we have been inseparable"
Fleur noticed how fondly he spoke about Hermione, if she didn't know that they were like siblings she would have been a little worried, she also noted how much anger, hurt, and disdain he had for this Ronald person.
Soon they were near the grand staircase he turned and reveled in the expression of awe on the faces of his friends. "They move in random patterns, I will tell you which one to take for the classes when you get your timetable tomorrow," he said as he continued walking.
" 'Ow do you even remember where to go! Don't you get lost? What about ze first-year students?" Fleur was perplexed and in awe of the size of the castle. As much as it wounded her pride she had to admit that Beauxbatons was way smaller than Hogwarts but without a doubt more beautiful.
He chuckled "Oh that's where portraits and ghosts come in, they help them to classes provided directions" as pointed to the various portraits all around the staircases, hallways, and lobbies.
Celine whistled "Mon Dieu! Those are some rare paintings! And very expensive ones too!" her eyes wide as she was savoring the was every single piece of art in front of her.
He cocked his head in confusion with Marie saying "She loves art and painting, especially old or vintage magical era ones" making the teen nod in understanding. As they were leaving Celine was pulled by her partner making the other two chuckle.
They towards the hallways and he said "This is the Hospital wing, if you need anything you can ask Poppy"
Just then the very Matron came out and seeing him she looked concerned asking "Har… Mr. Potter? What is it this time? Broken bones? Headache?" looking the boy one over trying to find what was wrong with him.
He blushed saying "N..n..no I am jus…ust giving the..m a tour. I am okay, Madame Pomfrey"
The matron smiled at them, relaxing and saying " That's great" before adding in a stern but concerned voice "But See that it stays the same as long as you can" before taking her leave, with her face looking a little red.
He sighed and turned only to look at three women with amused smiles and questioning looks in their eyes, his blush intensified as he said "I am on the quidditch team and a little clumsy, so I spend more time in here than others"
Fleur accepted the explanation for now as she said "Oh you play quidditch? We don't 'ave zat, but we do 'ave broom racing"
"Really? I would love to try it sometime, I love flying!" Harry answered with a childlike enthusiasm and giddiness.
It was infectious as his companions chuckled as they were making their way through another long hallway that came open to the Clock Tower courtyard. It was not that crowded due to it being a chilly morning that particular day. He said "This is the clock tower courtyard, I do my assignments here sometimes, it's mostly quiet here and it's near Gryffindor Tower"
Fleur bit her lower lip trying to suppress the question that was trying to come out of her as she once again noticed the blank face on his face as he talked about his house. Trying to change the subject she asked "So ozzer zan playing quidditch and being clumzy what are your 'obbies?" with a teasing smile on her face.
"Oh, I um… I like baking or cooking overall, also a little drawing" he said with a sheepish smile on his face as he ran a hand through his hair looking away not wanting to face the judgment in those sapphire eyes of hers. It was a skill that he both hated and loved, during his enslavement at Dursley's those were his only escapes. His imagination and making food out of ingredients.
"Hmm, I love to make cookies wiz Maman, but other zan zat and making 'ot chocolate, I don't know 'ow you say it?" Fleur said with a smile on her face morphing into confusion " Ummm…" she gave a triumphant smile "Oh yes! Don't even know how to cook water"
He smiled asking "Oh so if not that? What do you like to do, in your free time" as he led them back the same way to the entrance hall leading them to the Viaduct to the large wooden bridge which gave a mesmerizing view of the north of the Black Lake.
"Oh I love enchanting and working wiz runes" Fleur answered red dusting adorning her pale cheeks as all they were looking out towards the lake. She had never been asked about her hobbies, especially by boys so she "Also I love horse riding, or Abraxan riding if you will in my free time"
"Wow that's… they are so big how do you even get on them?" he asked astonished by the revelation. He had seen the beast from afar and they were the size of elephants.
She shrugged "Using stool, I 'ave a few back home, Maman 'as been teaching me since I was 8! I started wiz taking ride wiz her before I 'ad got Adolphine, my mare, as a foal on my fiftennz birthday! She will be five years old next June. It is perfect cause she is the daughter of Maman's mare, Merlot"
Much like him, her love for her hobby was apparent on her face, he smiled "So zey do drink single malt whiskey?"
"Oui, zey does but among ozzer zings, Maman says it 'elps zem grow larger zan average for zeir breed, our stable 'orses drink it too. Adolphine is already taller zan 'er maman!" she replied with a childlike innocence in her sapphire eye sparkling with love for her equestrian friend back at home.
Marie shivered "She doesn't like anyone but you Fleur, I don't know 'ow Madame Delacour is going to 'andle her while you are 'ere"
"Oh she only does zat when she misses me, Maman knows 'ow to handle her," she said trying to seem a little more reassuring but it was clear from her wistful expression she was worried the same.
He commented "You know I rode a hippogriff last year" his comment caught everyone's attention which was an indication that his diversion worked "Yeah it was during the care of magical creature class, Hagrid was teaching about them, and asked who would like to meet, Buckbeak. Everyone stepped back while I stood still so it was like I came forward, I was scared but after an introduction, he let me pet him. I thought that was it but then suddenly Hagrid took me up like I was a child and put me on his back, followed by a pat on its rump!"
He sighed saying "It was so scary but also so much fun! I think if I had known how to ride I would loved it even more!" pouting a little as they walked to the central hall which was another large open area "Well those stairs are to the library and just above is Arithmancy classroom it's taught by Professor Septima Vector, to our left is another courtyard and beyond that is Transfiguration classroom which is taught by Professor Minerva McGonagall"
He turned to them asking "So do you want to see the library?"
Fleur shook her head "Non, we will 'ave plenty of time later, for now, let's go to the courtyard" with the other two nodding along.
As they entered the courtyard it was filled with people which made Harry stop for a second panic creeping up on him, he could feel the glares and judgment aimed towards him. He wanted to run away, every instinct in his body asking him to turn around and not to stop until he got to his room.
Fleur noticing it cleared her throat asking " 'Arry? Everyzzing okay?" fighting her instincts to take his hand and drag him away from here, from this castle and its two-faced people.
Her question broke his line of thought which he was thankful for, as it provided a necessary break for Susan's words to come back to him. Taking a deep breath he shook his head saying "Yes, let's continue" as he led them across the courtyard "This is where Charms class is which is taught by Professor Filius Flitwick and that is Defense against Dark Arts tower, this year Professor Moody is teaching that, I hope he is better than Lockhart"
"Lockhart! Like Gilderoy Lockhart! He taught here! Mon dieu you are so lucky!" Celine exclaimed with her eyes sparkling in awe, reminding Harry of all the girls during his second year.
He shook his head "No, more like unlucky. Turns out he was a fraud, he stole his stories from people and then obliviated them. I still remember when in my second year when I was playing quidditch, at the end I caught the snitch but also broke my arm in the process. Lockhart tried to fix it but ended up vanishing my bones entirely!"
Celine looked a little deflated upon hearing that but only for a moment before asking "What 'appened to 'im? I 'aven't 'eard about 'im in a while" musing.
"Oh I 'eard somezzing about 'im being admitted in ze St. Mungos, since last two years" Fleur informed getting suspicious looks from her guards who gestured to the boy who told her 'Ask him'
She nodded asking " 'Arry do you know anything about it?" she saw as he shook his head and avoided looking at her. It told her that he was hiding something. She left it for now.
"Come on, Astronomy Tower," he said shaking his head and taking them to the top of the tower. It was the highest point of the tower with a clear view of the valley. He smiled at the look of wonder on their face as they stared at the scene.
"Mon Dieu! 'Zis so beautiful!" Marie exclaimed as she walked towards the railing leaning forward a bit.
The action gave Harry an enticing view of her plump yet firm tush, making him blush a little and avert his eyes quickly.
It wasn't quick enough as Fleur caught his eyes and couldn't help but feel that her future was going to be very interesting. She was brought out of her thoughts when the gong of the clock tower rang 11 times reminding her that she had a floo call with her family back home.
"Okay the last one is a greenhouse, which is straight across the central hall," he said leading them back the same way, only this time he didn't stop at the courtyard which made Fleur happy, there wasn't much to see when they got to the greenhouse and as none of them were much interested he started walking them out of the castle to the ground. There wasn't much talking as they walked down a graveled path.
Reaching the Carriage Celine was first to go before Marie who added extra sway in her hip entering him before looking at him over her shoulder and departing with a wink.
He was flushed red as a result making Fleur chuckle "You look so cute, Harry!" seeing his confused expression she realized that she said it in French out of habit. She shook her head saying "Nozzing, zank you 'Arry, you have been a great guide and even better friend, I will see you at dinner" before leaning in and giving him a quick hug before stepping into the carriage.
He stood there for a moment before he started to make his way back to the castle, with the west tower thinking about where to go next only a library came to mind. He knew Hermione was there and he could get started with his tournament prep. As he reached the bell tower his attention was caught by a group of people coming his way, all of them dressed in red with golden trims and accents all over, along with a metal vambrace, pauldron, and a belt that held a few small vials of the potions.
There were almost thirty or so, he guessed seeing the group, one man was dressed differently than the rest. Dressed in blue robes and bald, of African descent with a stony expression on his face. He stood aside letting them pass by as the slow crowd gathered around, he shrugged and was about to walk towards library stairs only for a shade of neon pink hair to catch his eye, he turned and before he knew called "Dora?!"
His voice drew Metamorph's attention, and she turned and flashed him a smile as she broke from the contingent with another one, her partner he guessed following behind. He noticed how her hips swayed from side to side and couldn't help but remember all the erotic dreams he had staring at her, suddenly he felt his mouth turning dry.
"Wotcher, Harry Bear!" she greeted him with a tone that was a mix of happy, husky, and a tad bit shy, her hair reflecting it as they changed from neon pink to red. She didn't stop and took him in her embrace "It's going to be okay lover boy, don't worry" kissing the mop of his hair reveling in the smell of ozone and leather.
He couldn't say anything as he smushed between the valley of her breasts against the soft material of her uniform. He wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her tight to him and flushing her body to his.
She whimpered when they broke and she lost the heat, which showed clearly as her hair got hue of a brown. She smirked "Oh I didn't know you missed lil' ol me that much" lightly playing with his hair.
He chuckled "Lair, I always say that in my letters" making both of them laugh before he asked, "So you here for the tournament?"
"Yeah, among other things," she said teasing smile. She registered the presence of her partner soon enough "Oh and this is my lovely, work wife, Hestia Jones!" gesturing to the black-haired auror with a freckled face.
He smiled "It's nice to meet you, Ms. Jones, I hope you are keeping Dora out of trouble" shaking the woman's hand while ignoring an indigent "OI!" from the metamorph.
Hestia laughed "Oh I will try my best, she is a pretty handful you know" looking at her partner with an amused smile on her face.
The metamorph snorted bumping her friend's shoulder "Aww, love you to Hes" making all three break in laughter.
Shaking her head Hestia turned to the teen "It was nice to meet you Mr. Potter but we must get going or Kingsley will hex our arses off " The last comment was more aimed at her partner.
Sighing Dora nodded "Yeah, he is so uptight about all that he needs to loosen up a bit" before stepping forward once again hugging Harry and whispering in his ear "Meet near the Lake tomorrow morning, 6 o'clock" kissing his cheek and breaking it "See ya around Harry Bear!"
With a light blush on his face, he beamed at her saying "Yeah, see you around Dora!" and watched as the duo left he looked at the sway of Dora's arse hypnotically until she disappeared in the castle. He shook his head once again from those not-so-innocent thoughts as he started walking towards the Library.
As always he found her in her usual spot which was the left-end corner with books and piles of parchment. He greeted her softly trying not to startle the bushy-haired witch, "Hey 'Mione studying for Owls?"
"Don't be ridiculous Harry! OWLS are next year and I will start preparing for them in the summer, right now looking at information about the tournament" she said without looking up from the book in her hand and parchment, as he took a seat beside her she passed it over saying "Well there is no pattern and all of them are absurd"
"Fighting a… no that can't be right" Harry read going a little pale reading the old English script of the book that looked ancient.
She nodded "Oh yes, fighting Giant, and that is just one of many, there was one where champions had to survive and find a phoenix egg, and another was the taming of a hippocampus! It's just absurd, not very helpful!" leaning back in her chair letting out a disappointing sigh.
He could see that she was sad about not finding anything that could help him in the tournament he put a hand around her bringing her close to him saying "It's okay 'Mione"
The dam she had held back since yesterday broke free as she sniffed and tears started flowing "It's not fair Harry! Every year you fight to survive! First, it was a troll, then Quidditch, Quirell, then Acromantula, and a fucking Basilisk! Then dementors and Pettigrew last year! Now this year, the quidditch tournament and now this! It's too much Harry! I can't handle this, I can't handle seeing you almost dying every year! I can't lose you, Harry, I can't lose my brother" she sobbed "I don't want to be alone!"
He swallowed a lump in his throat, his tears gathering in the corner of his eyes as he rubbed her back saying "You're not going to 'Mione! With my sister by my side, I will always beat any odds! It's okay if you can't find anything just be there and that will be enough. Your faith in me is more important than you finding a clue" kissing the crown of her head.
Hermione smiled snuggling into him before breaking it and saying "Don't count me our yet Harry, you know how good I am at finding things" with a smug look as she wiped her tears saying "I will find something before the task I promise if not about tournament at least something that can help you with it"
He chuckled "Okay, but not at the cost of your health, I will drag you out if you stay any later than 10!" he warned seeing the protest coming "Or I will stay with you to irritate you all day, what will it be?"
She simply huffed pouting "You are being mean, the library is open till eleven" Seeing the stern expression on his face she relented "Okay, I promise to take care of myself and no staying here after ten"
He gave a beaming smile "Oh I just met Dora! She is here with the auror contingent for the tournament! I am going to meet her tomorrow morning to start my training"
"Well that's a relief at least you won't be going into this unprepared," she said looking relieved as the tension left her body and she went slack in her seat relaxing visibly.

Shiver went down his spine as he made his way through the windy corridor near the entrance lobby, he sped up his pace while holding his cloak closer against, the warming charm that ran out a few seconds ago. Once out in the courtyard, he shuddered his cheeks gaining a tint as he kept walking.
The lake wasn't that far but his destination was on the other side, the lake as calm as it could be with the squid occasionally moving its limbs to what he guessed was a morning stretch. Other than that the only sound around was the chirping of birds with the smell of ozone.
After a few minutes, he could spot a bob of pink neon at some distance from him but his attention was caught by her attire which was a yellow tank top that was snug around her along with black tights that looked like it was a sink around her plump-shaped cheeks. He was getting a great show as she was stretching.
"Enjoying the show Har?" her teasing voice brought him out of a trance making him turn red and crimson as he watched her shake her ass a little for him as she came up "Oh I will take that blush as a compliment"
He coughed a little and recovered stammering a reply "Go..Go… Good Morning Dora"
Deciding to take pity on her future beau she replied "Morning Harry. Did you sleep okay?" she noticed how his eyes were on her sweaty bust and relished in it for a minute before he nodded.
She wanted to act on her impulses but held back as she clapped her hands loudly gaining his attention once again saying "Okay let's start with some light stretching then I will see where you are in terms of skills today, tomorrow we work on improving it"
"Okay," he said removing his cloak clasps and keeping it on the boulder where hers was already lying and it was Dora's turn to ogle the lean-toned body of her future husband. She could feel her restraint weakening the longer she looked, turning away she started with toe touching, him following her diligently.
"Okay let's start," Dora said as they stood thirty paces apart. Without any warning, Dora shot a stunner at him, thanks to his reflex he quickly cast {Protego!}
The spell hit the shield only to dissipate. It was followed by a Reductor curse which shattered the shield on impact before it was followed by another stunner.
He dodged it by diving right while countering with a disarming spell.
She just moved aside sending and leg locking jinx back to his right.
He turned his left letting it pass harmlessly, and that's when from the corner of his eye he saw the stunner heading toward him. Thinking on quickly, he ducked low sending one of his own.
She jumped high to avoid it, landing a little unbalanced.
Seeing the advantage, he quickly sent tickling jinx her way hoping to catch her with it.
Even being a little off balance she cast a shield that tanked the spell before going on the offensive, sending the spell chain his way. Her wand moving in a blur {Stupefy!}{Stupefy!} {Reducto!} {Incracerous!} {Expelliarmus!}
Seeing a volley of spells coming at him used his seeker reflex and instincts to try and avoid all of them. But the last spell went past him a stunner hit him square on the chest.
She smiled twirling her wand in her hand as walked up to him she stood there for a minute admiring his face and sharp jawline. He looked so innocent, she knelt peck him near the corner of his mouth softly whispering "I love you Harry Bear, Always"
Before leaning back putting a teasing smile back on like a mask casting {Enervate!}
He woke up fluttering his eyes and groaned "So how did I do?" sitting up.
She settled down beside him on the grass saying "Well it was not bad but also not good. First of you are using first-second-year spells which are easy to handle and ineffective on most magical creatures. So we will work on your repertoire, mostly it will be on you to find and learn the spell, I will help in using them in a duel"
"Yeah I noticed it too, I will start perusing some more offensive magic books from the library, keep 'Mione company" he agreed knowing a serious lack in his knowledge which he could attribute to his laziness.
"Next is to with your combat skill, you are transparent to me and anyone who is focused in the duel. I know what spell is coming before you cast, any guesses why?" she continued when he shook his head "Your wand moments are too elaborate and that also plays on how much time it takes for you to cast. So we will make sure those are tight and close"
"Last is to do with your imagination and Strategy, it was good that you took a chance when I was off balance but would have been better if you froze the ground below me, and then when I slipped you could have taken me out" snapping her fingers ending "Just like that!"
He looked at her in awe which made her heart flutter as he said "Brilliant Dora! You are amazing! I didn't even think about that"
Flushing a little at the compliments she chuckled "You were adequate with dodging, those seeker skills are coming in handy" running her hand through the side of his messy moppy hair.
He stiffened a little only for a fraction of a second before relaxing "Yeah it's a good thing Woods was such a taskmaster" he mused before asking "So how are Andi and others?"
"Well mum is busy with work and it shocked all of us hearing that your name came out of the goblet, also angry on your behalf. But me being here is a relief for them and frankly for me too, I got you back after such a long time" she said putting her hand around him and bringing him closer "I am never going to lose you again" the very thought made her shudder.
He simply put an arm around her waist looking up into her eyes saying "You never will Dora, you are not ever going to lose me" settling his head on her shoulder relishing in the warmth of her skin in her palm.
She laid her head on his both sitting in complete silence, enjoying each other and the intimacy of the moment. Minutes seemed like hours to them before Dora broke the serene silence "We need to go back Har" and choked on a whimper when his hand left her skin, along with his body heat.
He was a little sad as her hand left his shoulder, he stood up and offered her a hand.
She smiled saying "Ever a gentleman" as she took it standing up. Both start to walk towards the castle hand in hand without even realizing it.
"So what are you going to do while you are here?" he asked.
She shrugged "Nothing much just looking over tournament preparation and before you ask Har, I can't tell you anything. Under oath sorry" looking a little apologetic.
He shook his head saying "Oh it's okay, I understand it's your work, I don't want you to put your career on the line for me. So don't feel guilty I will find it out one way or another" giving her hand a reassuring squeeze.
She kissed his cheek on the same spot as before "You are the best Har!" and hugged him tightly before breaking it and saying "I will see you tomorrow same time, bye Har" with a wink as she started walking towards her wing from the entry with extra sway in her every step.
He stared hypnotized by her moment until she was too far to track and he shook his head out of his sinister thoughts as he made his way back to his room for a cold shower.
