Later on, the movie ended at around 10:30 that night. Everyone was leaving the drive-in, even the greasers with the soc girls. It was a bit colder by the time they left. Cherry and Marcia didn't have a lift home so Two-Bit requested to walk them home since it wasn't that far away. He even put his leather jacket over Marcia's shoulders and he walked with her while Ponyboy, Johnny, and Bexley walked with Cherry.

Johnny kept his fists in his denim jacket while Bexley and Ponyboy lit a smoke. "So how come you never talk about your oldest brother?" Cherry asked as they walked. The siblings glanced at each other, knowing what the reason was. "There isn't much to tell really. He's big and works in construction," Ponyboy said as he leaned against the fence.

Darry worked a lot and often lost his temper with his younger siblings, acting more like a parent than a brother. "I meant, what's he like? As much as you guys talk about Soda, it feels like I really know him. Is he wild and reckles like Soda and you, Bexley, or dreamy like you?" Cherry asked Ponyboy, leaning back against the fence.

He knew Soda and Bexley pretty good but he was puzzled on Darry though. He didn't know much about him other than he worked so much. "He ain't like Soda and Bex and he ain't like me either. I swear he can't stand me. To him, I'm just another mouth to feed. A part of me thinks that he could stick me in a home somewhere but Soda and Bex won't let him," Ponyboy coldly says as he pushed himself off of the fence.

This stunned Bexley, making her eyebrows narrow. She wasn't the only one to feel like this. "What the hell you talkin' about, Ponyboy?" Two-Bit asked, just as puzzled. "I always thought you and Darry got along just fine," Johnny piped in, which made Ponyboy snap back at him.

"No, we don't! And you shut your trap, Johnny Cade! You ain't wanted at home either!" he shouted, which made the dark-skinned greaser cower down a bit. Bexley wasn't having it and she slapped him over the head hard to knock some sense into him. "Shut your mouth, Ponyboy Michael Curtis!" she shouted at him, anger in her eyes.

That seemed to work because Ponyboy slumped his shoulders forward and he sighed. "I just got a bit mad. I'm sorry," he apologized, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's okay," Johnny replied timidly, blushing from Bexley defending him. "Don't say things like that. We couldn't get along without you so just hush up," Two-Bit assured him, wrapping an arm around Johnny's shoulders, giving him a one armed hug.

While they were talking, a blue mustang with some socs was slowly pulling in close to them with it's headlights turned on. "Marcia," Cherry said when she saw the car coming. It was her boyfriends' car. Marcia looked over and she saw the car as well, which made her nervous. "Oh, no. What're we gonna do?" she asked when the car pulled over.

The greasers turned around to face towards the car, knowing it was a socs car. "Who're these bozos?" Two-Bit wondered as the driver and the passenger got out of the blue mustang. The driver was Bob Sheldon, Cherry's boyfriend. He wore a checkered madra on. The passenger wore a maroon sweater with a white collar around the neck.

Two-Bit wore only his orange-red sleeveless shirt with Mickey Mouse on the front of it with jeans and his cowboy boots. Pony still wore his blue sleeveless shirt and jeans and sneakers. Neither of them wore a jacket except for Johnny. The second that Bexley and Two-Bit saw those socs, fury and rage crossed their faces.

They were clearly drunk when they stepped out of that car based on their movements. "Cherry! What's going on?! What the hell are you doing?" Bob shouted at her. There was a few rings on his fingers on his right hand. It was the soc that beat Johnny those months ago, based on Johnny's reaction. Johnny cowered down and faced away from them.

All Cherry did was glare at him, showing that she wasn't in the mood for any of his nonsense. "We only got a little drunk-" he started but Cherry wasn't having it. "A little?! You call reeling and passing out in the streets a little!?" she shouted right at him. Two-Bit was staring Bob down with a cold glare, frowning at them hatefully.

"Bob, if I haven't told you once, I've told you many times, I'm never going out with you when you're drinking, and I mean it!" she berated him.

The dark-haired soc stepped forward with the same glare. "That's no reason to be walking with these bums," he scowled, looking at the greasers as he said this. It pissed them off to say the least. "Who the hell you calling 'bums', asshole?!" Bexley shouted as she balled up.

That soc stormed up to her and he grabbed her by the front of her flannal, pushing her back against the fence, making her yell out in pain. "HEY!" Two-Bit shouted when he said this. "You know we got four more in the car," the same soc exclaimed. This made Two-Bit break his beer bottle against the fence then he chucked the neck of the bottle to Ponyboy.

He then unsheathed his blade and held it out to the soc. "Pity the backseat!" he shouted before pulling Bexley behind him to protect her. "You touch her again and you won't like what I'll do, soc scum," Two-Bit threatened, glaring right at him. Ponyboy was in shock at what just happened. "You alright?" he asked her. "Yeah, I'm fine, Pone," Bexley said, glaring at the socs.

"You looking for a fight?" Randy asked, getting in Two-Bit's face. "Yeah, I am looking for a fight! Let's go, come on! Right now!" Two-Bit shouted, ready to fight the soc. Before the fight could escalate, Cherry got between them as she shouted, "Alright, we'll go with you! Stop it!" "How come? We ain't scared of these assholes!" Two-Bit shouted, holding his blade out towards Randy, the other soc. He was ready to fight them if he needed to.

"I hate fights, alright? I hate them!" Cherry exclaimed, wanting to be done with this. Bexley wanted to punch that smile right off of Bob's face but she backed down, sticking her thumbs in her front pockets. Two-Bit picked his jacket up from the ground because it had been thrown down by Randy.

"Ponyboy? Can I talk to you for a second?" Cherry said, pulling the youngest greaser away from the group so they could talk in private. "I couldn't use this. I can't cut no one," Ponyboy innocently said, dropping the bottle to the ground. Bexley wasn't afraid of the socs - Anybody who threatens her family or her friends, she won't hesitate to stand up for them.

When she did get grabbed like that and when Two-Bit unsheathed his blade, it did scare Cherry and she wanted it to stop before it got worse. "Cherry, you better go with them," Bexley said, walking up to Cherry. Cherry looked over at the she-grease and she nodded. Before she walked away she turned back to Ponyboy and said, "Look, if I see you in school and I don't talk to you, please don't take it personal, okay?"

"Yeah, I know," Ponyboy said, looking away for a second before looking back at her. "You're a nice boy and all. And Bexley's got fire in her but…" Cherry said softly. "Don't worry, it's okay," Ponyboy assured her. He wished he was six feet under the ground. Just before she walked back to Bob, she turned around and said, "I don't want to see Dallas Winston again. If I do, I'll probably fall in love with him,"

She walked back over to Bob, who tried to touch her. "Don't touch me," Cherry scowled at him before getting in the car. Two-Bit then put his blade away in his back pocket before putting his jacket on.
