The Hail is an alliance of Edenian traitors who betrayed their realm to help Shao Kahn and were thus granted a position within the Kahn Guard. The Demi God known as Rain was chosen to lead and mentor the traitors after proving himself to be the strongest amongst them. Under Rain's training, the group has transformed into ninjas wearing primarily purple. Rain is especially close to his best student who is called Alyssa. The two are so close that Rain trusts her enough to show her the secrets of his water bending abilities which Alyssa has been practicing herself. The Hail are considering defecting from the remaining allies of Shao Kahn as many feel much guilt from betraying Edenia and now seek redemption.
