The Brotherhood of Shadow is the largest alliance within the Netherrealm, mainly residing over the first plane. The cult worships Shinnok for multiple reasons such as genuine admiration for the Fallen Elder God, fear of his wrath, or simply out of boredom and lack of purpose within Hell. The Brotherhood is arguably the only form of true civilisation within the Netherrealm, mainly residing in homes either within or nearby the city of Nekros. By serving Shinnok, the Brotherhood have been promised refuge within the realms once he has enforced his will over them all. The current strongest amongst the Brotherhood outside of the two leaders of Shinnok and Quan Chi are:
Cilene: Loyal and almost always capable of completing her tasks. Quan Chi speaks highly of her services, which her successes draw jealousy from Siann.
Siann: Was favoured by Quan Chi for a time before Cilene's arrival into the Brotherhood. She now tries her hardest to succeed in enforcing the will of her masters, even if she isn't considered to be as capable as Cilene.
Sora: Always looking out for her fellow cultists. Mature and one of the most experienced amongst the Brotherhood. Her teachings have helped many during their services for Lord Shinnok.
Mika: Rather quirky and strange, but a formidable fighter nonetheless. She is even more caring to those in the Brotherhood than Sora though is more of an emotional support figure rather than a sort of mentor. Despite the life she lives, Mika always remains positive.
Arosis: The sister of the Netherrealm's infamous Demon slayer called Ashrah. Despite Ashrah trying to convince Arosis to escape the Brotherhood with her, she refused and remained with the Brotherhood. Although missing her sister dearly, Arosis is too afraid to leave the Brotherhood of Shadow and continues aiding in the preparations for Shinnok's invasion of Earthrealm.
